Synopsis: | The Outsiders have a new member and Rose is the welcoming party. |
Cast of Characters: | Rose Wilson, Miles Morales
|
- Rose Wilson has posed:
The Roost hosts quite the eclectic group of heroes, misfits and other such figures. And then there's Rose who, really, was anyone thinking straight when they chose to get this particular mercenary into the group? Honestly, most likely thinking with the wrong head.
And worst of all they have given her access to most wings inside the base which made it so for Rose to have claimed the training room as her domain. At least for the time she is spending at the base which has been somewhat increasing in the last month or so. And perhaps to the prejudice of new member to the group (who the powers that be forgot to tell Rose about) here she is training up in all her glory.
Sweat drips the side of her head as the young woman makes use of the salmon ladder, the *clank* *clank* of the bar reaching a new height every time she pushes herself up in the kind of manner that tells of extreme workout strength or some kind of supernatural strength. Maybe both.
She is dressed in black tight shorts, a sports top with the ever-present eyepatch over her missing eye. Teeth gritted at the effort.
- Miles Morales has posed:
So, this is the roost. Having accepted Red Robin's invite, Spider-Man had been given the coordinates to the location and a note to check it out when he had the chance. Since it was an off-day for him, Miles figured it would be a good chance to check it out. So far he had seen the lobby and main gathering area. He figured that he'd stay out of the residential area, and he'd check out the Labs when Tim was around.
Which means the black-suited hero opted to follow the sounds coming from the training room. Curiosity piqued, he makes his way within, trying not to disturb Rose as she goes through the motions, his expression hidden behind the mask as he watches her go up and down the salmon ladder.
He can't help but to let out a low, impressed whistle as he takes it all in.
"Swanky."
- Rose Wilson has posed:
Even with the obvious vision impairment that comes from not having one eye there's little that goes unnoticed by Rose, such as the approach of one black-dressed hero, long before he makes his presence unknown while she is doing the climb all the way up to the last level of the salmon ladder, muscles taut with the effort. Her skin is glistening with sweat as she reaches the top at last and only then she deigns to look down upon the hero.
Curling a brow in judgement at the first word that comes out of his mouth.
And then she flexes up and down on that last step, effortless almost, rolling her shoulders slowly as if relaxing her muscles, "That's not a word." she finally says, moving some of her white hair over a shoulder, "But you can try again."
So generous of her.
- Miles Morales has posed:
"Swanky is so a word." comes the response from the Spider. "But alright. We can also go with dope." A firm nod of his head is given at that as he takes in the pale, glistening woman at the top of the ladder.
He considers his surroundings, and with a flick of his wrist, a black webline flies out, sticking to the cieling and propelling Miles upwards. He comes to roost near Rose, flipping upside down to hang there, his feet attached to the webline.
"But hey, I'm always good for learning something new. What word would you use?" he asks curiously, a tilt of his head to one side, red-rimmed lenses wide as he considers the one-eyed woman. He looks down towards the floor, and then back to her. "Looks like you've been at this for a while."
Oh right, manners. Mom would get so mad. "I'm Spider-Man."
- Rose Wilson has posed:
"That's an even worse word." So Rose judges. Maybe her nemesis is slang words, who knows? Yet she still seems none-too-impressed with the dark-clad figure though as he slings himself all the way up to be at her level there's a lift of her lip into a smirk. A somewhat dangerous looking one at how close he has come to be.
"Fucking amazing." She then replies, "Those are the words I would use." she doesn't seem to be very humble either, but then again that was pretty much a given from the moment anyone sets their eyes on her.
The platinum-haired woman continues to flex ever so slowly upon the bar. Up and down. Slow. "Spider-Man." she echoes, "In my own little training room..." lips purse together as her head tilts up and down slowly to watch the full upside-down figure of Miles, "Mmmm, I am not so sure about that..." maybe it's the different costume color.
And then a danger sense may come to work as her muscles tense and her legs swing up in a sharp manner, lightning fast, faster than any human has any right to be, aiming to catch the man's head in-between them. Probably a good idea to dodge.
- Miles Morales has posed:
"Someone doesn't have any street cred, then~" Spider-Man sing-songs. "Oh, and you kiss your mother with that mouth?" he asks with more than a little amusement as he idly sways on his little webline, watching Rose as she gets into a more predatory pose. "Oh, this is your place? Didn't know you and Red Robin were an it---!"
And whatever else was about to be said is cut off as she lunges at him, that tingle suddenly launching at him at a speed faster than the leap that Rose makes at him. Hands and feet release the webline, dropping and twisting towards the ground, leaving her the webline.
But as he twists, he turns, both arms up, weblines fired towards Rose to try to pin her to the cieling if she isn't fast enough.
"Not even a hey how are you before trying to jump me? At least ask a guy out to dinner first!" Amusement tinges him, but he's on alert as he lands on the ground as he straightens himself back up. "And not even a name to go with it."
- Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose is already on the move when those weblines are shot her way, almost as if she -knew- what would happen before it does, pushing herself off from the salmon ladder and spinning in the air, right in-between the two weblines that near graze her body. But only so. She drops to the ground gracefully, impeccable balance, her one good eye fixed on Miles, "Mother's dead." she informs the man once she has dropped down to the floor, "But before she died she always told me not to talk to strangers."
Arms open to the sides and she continues to move closer to Miles, slow, almost as if circling prey, "Does a girl need a name?" she wonders, her smirk having turned somewhat amused now, "I am still not convinced you are Spider-Man but ...." a beat as she continues her circling, bare feet silent on the floor, "... you seem to know Red Robin. So maybe I won't kill you for trespassing." and she even says it all in a smooth manner, without a break in voice. Is she just messing with him or being deadly serious?
"What are you doing here?"
- Miles Morales has posed:
He's impressed. Rose twists and turns in the air - and looks pretty good while doing it and sets herself up so the weblines bracket her. They'll dissolve in an hour, so he's not too worried about them, but it's the words that catch his attention. He should probably apologize about the mother quip, but instead, "Hey, I introduced myself. You're the one being all pale, hot and mysterious." he points out to her, a couple of bounces backwards on the balls of his feet. That is to keep him on his toes as Rose circles him.
"Oh, you're not? Right, right, must be the suit, right? You know, the OG Spider-Man went through a black costume phase as well." he points out with a firm nod, the skin tight black and trimmed red suit moving fluidly with him.
"Well yeah, I know him. He invited me to come join his little group - so I'd figured I'd check the place out."
A pffft of breath comes at the suggestion of him trespassing. "Yes, let me break into the lair of super-powered individuals to what... tag the place?" he asks her with a raise of one lens in amusement. But he did answer her question. Sort of.
"Would it be easier for me just to step back out and let you keep the room to yourself? Don't want to disrupt your groove, or whatever you have going on in here."
- Rose Wilson has posed:
Whatever kind of crazy she may be her intensity is undeniable, the young woman continuing to move as if she owned the place, still continuing her circling around Miles. All done slow. Is she looking for an opportunity to strike or simply appreciating his form. Expression tells nothing even if she does snort, "See. Those are all much better words than swanky, or dope." she informs Miles once he calls her pale hot and mysterious. She won't deny that.
"So, not even the original Spider?" She clicks her tongue as if that was a disappointment, "A pity. I have always been curious about the Spider. But maybe you can make me forget all about him, mmm?" she then stepping past Miles to go fetch a bottle of water, "And figures that Robin would forget all about informing the rest of us folks about a new member." she tosses the cork open, glancing over her shoulder at Miles.
"I am Rose. Or Ravager if we are using our 'hero' names." She rolls her eye at that last part then tipping her head back, drinking thirstily from the water bottle for a time.
- Miles Morales has posed:
"Awww, well thanks for the lesson, teach." comes Spidey's response to her critique. He doesn't mind eyes on him, but his hands go to his heart when she makes the distinction.
"Ow. He's like old." Miles responds in amusement. "Well, not that old. Seasoned. Like curly fries. I'm just another person that fell victim to a radioactive spider and now cursed with their powers." There's a small chuckle at Robin forgetting to mention it. "Maybe it was meant to be a surprise? Who knows. But as for making you forget? That's entirely up to you, Rose." See, used her name!
Though when she mentions 'Ravager', there's a tick of a lens. Oh, he might know her by reputation, it seems. "It was nice to meet you. Suppose if you want to figure out what my 'non-hero' name is, you'll just have to find a way to get it out of me."
And while she's drinking, this gives him a chance to finish taking a look around. "Maybe I'll get a room here. Seems cozy. Company's not bad." A small smirk under the mask.
"See you around, Rose. It's been fun!"
- Rose Wilson has posed:
"Ah, seems like the name tickled your fancy." Rose noting how those lens tick up, the amusement only growing, "Yes, it's exactly the one you are thinking." which, really, Red Robin better have a very good explanation for this woman to be part of the Outsiders.
As Miles then says she will have to get his name out of him there's a laugh, "Don't threaten me with a good time, Spider." a beat, "Because I may do just that." and as she finishes drinking she puts the bottle away, turning to look at Miles, arms folding together.
"I will be seeing you soon enough I am sure."
