Cast of Characters: Steve Rogers, Pepper Potts

Steve Rogers has posed:
It's a standard morning in the Mansion. Nothing's on fire (yet -- or that Steve is aware of), and so the First Avenger has emerged from showering after a lengthy morning run around the city proper. Only thirteen miles, no biggie, nice little distance for getting the super-heart pumping. His blond hair is still damp as he rustles around in the fridge for the leftover sandwich he'd stashed yesterday.

Thing is, the fridge is //almost// the Wild West. If it's not labeled, somebody might eat it...and he can't find his sandwich. There's a grunt of disapproval as he moves aside a container of Chinese food -- this belongs to Greer, from what he can tell. His coffee, recently poured, still steams on the island countertop. He's in a black t-shirt with bold golden lettering spelling out 'WASP' and a pair of jeans, white socks on his feet.

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper runs in the evenings, after work, if she manages to get it in, so the early morning exercise is limited to yoga. So, Pepper is dressed down and comfortably, her hair up in a pony-tail, and in hand, a handled paper grocery bag from one of the more upscale small food boutiques on the Upper East Side. She looks pleased with herself as she comes through the door and down the corridor. She's getting more used to navigating the Mansion, the childhood home of one Tony Stark.

Slowing her pace just a little as she crosses the threshold into the kitchen, she smiles to see the figure within and offers something of a cheery, "Good morning, Steve.."

The bag is set down on a chair, and brows rise in the tacit understanding that perhaps there isn't too much in there? "You look.. how about I make you something?"

Steve Rogers has posed:
Hearing a familiar voice beyond the confines of the chilly fridge's interior, the Captain emerges with his own brows lifted. "Oh, Pepper, g'morning," he replies with a burgeoning smile. A glance back at the fridge and its moderately spartan contents and he sighs out a laugh.

"Had a sandwich in there, but didn't mark it with my name. Finder's keepers, apparently." It's not quite a complaint, but there is that flat note within his words. "Not gonna say no if you're thinking you want to make something. Come take a look, see if there's enough to do something. Otherwise, I'll call something in from down the block. The little cafe with the blue chairs out front, they know our number by sight." A few rolling steps allows Pepper to check out the ingredients available to her if she feels like it; otherwise, it allows Steve to grab up his coffee and sip at it, scalding temperature ignored.

Pepper Potts has posed:
"And good morning," is said with a lilt of someone who has probably been awake for a couple of hours, at the very least. A dubious, green-eyed glance is given to the refrigerator before she shakes her head. The news of a stolen sandwich gains a momentary frown, but in this house, it probably is a close to a free-for-all. "Well," she begins slowly, "it probably looked the best?" There's a touch of a smirk that rises before she shakes her head again, her hand set on the little rolled paper-handles.

"I actually brought things. For Janet.. but I could probably find something that would work for you." Pepper turns her attention towards the bag, and while there isn't a lot in there, it's all.. healthy. Out comes a bag of fresh greens, a dozen eggs, turkey bacon, feta cheese, olive oil spray, a small container of almond milk, and small containers of berries. Not enough to feed an army, but fresh enough to feed one, two people. All set on the table, once she's moved anything that might have been left.

"It's okay. I don't cook a lot, and it's a chance to do it."

Steve Rogers has posed:
Sensing there's no interest in searching the wastelands of the fridge's shelvings, Steve pushes the door shut with no more force than necessary to close it. It had been an amusing process, first learning how hard he could accidentally slam doors after the serum's injection. He eyes what appears from her brown bag like some magical trick and nods half to himself, his attention rising to her face.

"'m gonna guess omelette by the ingredients? Janet'd like that." His glance is telling, up and in the direction of his room, as if he might see through the walls of the mansion. "Dunno if she's awake just yet or has slipped off to work, but she'll appreciate whatever you whisk up. Stovetop's all yours," he adds, gesturing to it almost Vanna White-esque before he steps around the island countertop to its far side. Now the entire area's open for Pepper to use. "How've you been then, other than attempting to help Janet continue to eat healthy?" His smile is still polite if amused.

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper waits briefly until there's a little room before she approaches the stove with a small handfull of items. Absolutely, an omelette.. only Steve will get the whole egg rather than eggwhites. That's for the girls! "I'm.." and the word is drawn out in theatrically fond amusement, "having something of a time convincing her that a martini afterwards isn't really the best idea.."

Digging through the cupboards for mugs for her items, she works it out quickly and has her workarea set and prepared.

"I could ask you the same, really. It's been a little while." The eggs are cracked over the edge of the mug and with two hands, she pours the contents into the mug. One egg, she fishes out a shell quickly before she glances back to Steve. "Since the return of the neighborhood, now it's a matter of keeping supply lines in place so no one thinks they're forgotten. After that?" She shrugs quickly as a fork is added to beat the egg quickly. Once down, the pan is sprayed and put on the burner. Next, the spinach! "It's the same. Meetings, purchase orders, making sure Tony has the time to get to conferences.." That last bit is said with a familiar fond smile.

She casts a glance to the side, brows rising, "Anything good that you're not supposed to share?"
