Toyman meets Royalty
Date of Scene: 03 November 2020
Location: Avenue of Tomorrow - New Troy
Synopsis: Schott meets Maxima and annoys her greatly
Cast of Characters: Winslow Schott, Maxima

Winslow Schott has posed:
The Avenue of Tomorrow was the tech mecca for Metropolis. The latest technological products were always easy to find in various stores in this part of the city, along with the latest toys and other collectables. This was a veritable gold mine for a criminal like Winslow Percival Schott, or the Toyman as he was called. While he had the money and skill to make his own toy-themed weapons, Toyman once in a while loved to acquire the latest toy creations churned out by toy company's, both for his amusement and to possibly modify for his own fiendish use. Tonight, was one of those days, and his target was Destiny Toy Store, one of the biggest toy sellers in the city.

It was a surprisingly quiet night in the Avenue of Tomorrow, with most of the shoppers having gone home for the night. The Destiny toy store, which was themed to look like a star ship, was locked up tight. However, the peaceful quiet of the night was suddenly interrupted by the sounds of cymbals crashing. If one had a keen eye, they would notice the bizarre sight of a common toy, a wind-up toy monkey with cymbals making it's way towards the door of the toy shop. Once it got close to the door, it let out a few chirps, and suddenly exploded, leaving a hole where the door used to be.

The second the explosion died down, a group of men came rushing out from behind a news stand and began to sprint to the toy store. These men were dressed up in very colorful polyester suits and ski masks, each of them also wearing gloves to keep themselves from being identified. As the made their way to the store, the leader, a tall, African-American man wearing a green suit turned to the rest of the men and said,

"Remember, Schott said to take only the toys that look impressive. Oh, and try to snag him some of them new My Precious Unicorn toys, it is getting closer to Christmas after all."

The men nod in unison and begin to raid the toy store, swiping toys off of shelves and placing them in duffle bags, unaware they were about to receive company.

Maxima has posed:
It is on this fateful evening that Maxima has decided to explore a bit more of the surface world. Of late she has been letting Namor entertain her in Atlantis while she searches for her lost city. However, one can only take so many wedding proposals before they need to get out for some air.

She certainly has not yet learned to blend in though, walking down the Avenue of Tomorrow in her green metal bikini armor and golden thigh highs, long read hair flowing out behind her. Needless to say she is attracting quite a few surprised expressions from passersby. That is of course until a toyshop entrance literally explodes. That certainly gets everyone's attention including Maxima's whose eyebrows raise in curiousity. This does not seem to be typical human behavior.

Winslow Schott has posed:
As the crowd stares at the toy shop's now obliterated entrance, they would see the figures of Toyman's men suddenly emerging from the smoking entrance, now carrying duffle bags full of toys. They begin to flee the area, only to come face to face with a security guard, who immediately pulls out a gun and points it at them. The men drop the bags and put their hands up, except for one, who suddenly pulls out what appears to be a Yo-Yo and swings it at the guard.

Now, most people would think that a Yo-Yo would do nothing to a grown man, but this one did. The man's head jerks back violently from the blow the Yo-Yo gave him and he ends up soaring off the second story balcony and landing with a violent crash on a nearby bench. As more security guards arrived, a buzzing noise filled the air as a fleet of toy biplanes began to fill the skys of the plaza. They immediately fired real bullets at the guards, who were forced to retreat, and put the civilians currently in the plaza into a panic as they started to flee from the gunfire. Meanwhile, the masked men began to flee once again.

Maxima has posed:
Maxima watches the scene unfold before her. The first security guards plight is greeted with a shrug. He lost in single combat, a sign of his own weakness, why he was trusted to guard anything to begin with is simply beyond her.

The planes however earn a scowl from her. While this is clearly a human matter beneath the Crown Princess of Almerac, the use of an ambush in what otherwise seemed to be an honorable battle offends. Maxima's glaring eyes become glowing points of light before a pair of laser-like optical force beams lance forth slicing into to the flying toys like a hot knife through butter, to the further gasps of onlookers.

Winslow Schott has posed:
Half of the toy airplanes are destroyed by the Princess' optic force beam, being shot out of the sky while exploding very violently, their ammo catching detonating prematurely. The rest of the toys manage to avoid destruction and begin to fire at the Crown Princess with their machine gun rounds. Except for one, which suddenly moves to a safe distance and begins to project a hologram. The hologram was of a short, middle aged, almost comical looking fat man with slightly long brown hair. He was wearing wire-rimmed glasses, a three piece blue and purple stripped suit, and a almost comically large bow tie. The strange little man took off his glasses, and seemed to clean them before putting them back on and saying in a thick, British accent,

"Oh dear! It would appear that a new Kryptonian has arrived to spoil my acquisition of new toys. Now I can't allow that."

Suddenly, he pulls out a remote control out of his suit pocket and presses a button. Suddenly, another explosion rocks the Avenue as a fleet of toy tanks seemingly arrive out of nowhere and begin to fire at the Princess with miniature artillery shells, along with the planes. Meanwhile, the goons begin to make their way down the stairs towards the ground floor, still clutching the duffle bag.

Maxima has posed:
Firing upon Maxima was a mistake as it draws her ire more directly upon the situation. The bullets from the machinegun fire seem to just bounce off of her harmlessly, which makes Kryptonian a fair assumption, though unlike the rest of the blue brigade there is no S/ on her chest. The hologram earns an annoyed look as with a flick of her wrist she sends a wave of telekinetic force at the remaining plans.

"A Kryptonian? I suppose I should not be surprised those dwelling on this backwater rimworld are so ill informed. I am Maxima, Crown Princess of the Almeracian Empire, warrior without peer. You have made a grave mistake in firing upon me. Now perhaps if you get down on your knees and apologize, I will not drag you from whatever hole you are hiding in and hurl you into orbit." Never mind that she fired first, such things are seemingly inconsequential to her.

Winslow Schott has posed:
Toyman face turns grim as the rest of the toy planes are destroyed by what appeared to be a new power. As soon as she introduces herself, Toyman does a surprisingly polite bow and says to her,

"It's quite a pleasure to meet you Your Highness. But, I will not be apologizing to you tonight. Instead, I will be introducing you to a new friend."

Suddenly, the Toy Man grins childishly as he presses another button on his controller with a loud beep. Suddenly, a loud thudding noise is heard as suddenly, a giant gorilla toy wearing a bow tie flies in out of nowhere on what appears to be rocket thrusters and aims a punch at Maxima. This punch, if hit, would have the force of 200,000 hydraulic presses.

Maxima has posed:
Maxima scowls, it would seem Namor was right about the surface dwellers failing to know their place. The Crown Princess takes a breath and is about to berate this holographic mortal further when a giant gorilla comes out of nowhere. This catches Maxima by surprise since the automaton has no mind for her empathic senses to pick up. The punch connects firmly and the Almeracian princess is sent flying into a wall making a Maxima sized hole in it as it gives way before her nigh invulnerable body.

Stepping back out through the hole again, "That was a mistake." She dusts the rubble off of her shoulders glaring at the gorilla as she begins to rise into the air. "Let me show you how that is done." And in the blink of an eye she swoops from the sky using all of the momentum of her speed to slam a cosmically powerful fist straight into gorilla's chest worthy of the Krytonians she's been confused with, but unlike those heroic souls she doesn't hold back.

Winslow Schott has posed:
The Gorilla is sent flying into a nearby beauty salon with a loud bang, completely leveling the building in the process. Toyman does not seemed concerned at all. In fact, he crosses his arms and smiles childishly at the Princess and says to her,

"You may not know this Your Highness, but I've been fighting the Man of Steel for years. Look up Toyman when you have the chance, that should clear up who I am. The first rule I have learned during my years is to make your toys very durable.

As he is saying this, the gorilla emerges from the rubble of the salon and leaps into the air, trying to slam both of his fists into Maxima at once.

Maxima has posed:
"And?" Maxima seems completely unimpressed, "Steel is easily broken," It would seem she is either not familiar with Superman or at least that moniker. "That you make any pretense to significance is laughable. Tell me how many planets you have conquered in the name of your empire if you want to impress me. This is your last chance to bow and apologize." One hand is raised in the direction of the charging gorilla and the giant beast is lifted into the air by unseen force. "I could rip the tectonic plates of this planet apart if the whim took. Know this, persist in this insolence and I will destroy you."

Winslow Schott has posed:
Toyman's eyes seem to widen in surprise as his toy gorilla is lifted up in the air. However, this is quickly turned to anger once the Princess berate him once again. For the first time all night, Toyman frowns quite darkly as he says,

"That statement was not meant to impress your highness. That was meant to warn you what I am capable of. Superman himself has more than once had trouble with my toys. You might be winning tonight, but I will develop something to destroy you! Just wait and see."

He then smiles again and says,

"As for your threat, I am not very concerned. This is a big city Your Highness. The odds of you finding me are quite slim, and even if you were to find me, you'll find me more than ready to escape if necessary."

Suddenly, he presses another button on the controller and says,

"Now, let's see if you can handle a explosion with the same power as 10,000 sticks of dynamite!" Suddenly, the gorilla starts beeping loudly as Toyman laughs both mockingly and childishly at the same time.

Maxima has posed:
Maxima's hand closes into a fist and as it does the giant gorilla's body begins to creak and groan, sparks flying out of it as the field of telekinetic force around the mechanical monstrousity becomes smaller and smaller crushing it in upon itself, "You don't seem to understand just how meaningless you are, this planet is, but you will learn. Pray you don't annoy me further and I may yet spare your pathetic life."

When the gorilla starts to beep she ceases crushing it's half-compacted form and instead with a flick of her wrist hurls it into the sky to explode above the Metropolis skyline in a brilliant fireworks display for the onlookers. Undoubtedly the police will have questions but she doesn't seem terribly inclined to stay around and answer them, as she begins to rise into the air herself.

Winslow Schott has posed:
Toyman lets out a swear of anger as his robot explodes in mid-air. Suddenly, the hologram shuts itself off and the plane projecting it suddenly explodes. However, it would seem that even though his toy was destroyed, Schott had a slight victory tonight. His henchmen had managed to slip away in the chaos, no doubt returning to Schott with new toys with him to tinker with.
