Maybe Not Dumplings Today
Date of Scene: 18 March 2020
Location: Chinatown - Founder's Island
Synopsis: Spoiler in costume, briefly runs into Damian Wayne, out of costume, in Chinatown.
Cast of Characters: Stephanie Brown, Damian Wayne

Stephanie Brown has posed:
A lead had taken Spoiler into Chinatown. The tip had paid off and she'd found the chop shop that was taken in cars from all over Founder's Island, turning them into parts and then shipping them off to god knows where. That's one of the things about being a long vigilante in a town like Gotham with only the means of a poor high school girl. Once things go out of town it gets tough to deal with them.

Though maybe she isn't limited to only those means now, Spoiler thinks to herself. With Barbara Gordon taking her under her wing, she probably has the resources to do something about those connections. So the hard drive she took from the computers at the chop shop hopefully will have something of use.

But taking down the chop shop is now thirty minutes in the past. She waited only long to make sure the police arrived before any of the beat down men could rouse themselves enough to run off. And then?

Then Stephanie was hungry. "Drat. Nothing to change into either," she says to herself. She climbs down a ladder from a roof and then goes walking through the Chinatown street, looking for food. It's late, so not a lot of people about. She does get some stares, but the teenage vigilante ignores them. She stops in front of a place that says Hot Dumplings, considering it, but then deciding not and instead moving over to a small stand that sells noodles. "Still open?" she asks from behind her mask, and getting a nod from the man.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian had went out, because he had to. The penthouse at Wayne Tower was stifling and he was wanting to explore, or at least be outside.

Carrie had been out, and of course so was Bruce. Damian had found Chinatown, and he started to think of delicious offerings of bao, street noodles, and hot oil.

He wore clothes that other teens would wear, basketball shorts, a t-shirt, and a pair of sneakers. Alfred has made sure that he had clothing that didn't look like he was an assassin, much to Damian's chagrin. He still didn't know where his League garb had been put, or worse, been destroyed due to...lack of laundering.

The small teen approached the cart and waited, behind a costumed girl...Hmm.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Spoiler's cape hangs down her back. It looks like it's made of normal fabric, not the kind of high-tech Kevlar-like weave that any of Bruce's entourage would have. Though the utility belt she's wearing, including a garter version, do look extremely close to what Batman wears. In fact they could actually be some of his manufacture.

"Oh good, I'll take the... ah... hrm. The mazemen," she says, ordering the dish with pork belly and egg in it. Her voice has accents that would place her as being from the region. Spoiler turns to glance at the teenager behind her. She has a mask that covers her face from the nose down to her chin, but leaves vivid blue eyes visible,as well as the shock of blond hair seen beneath her hood and flowing out over her shoulders.

"Sorry, just be a second," she tells Damian for the wait. She moves to the side though as the man fixes her dish. "Oh, can I get a Coke with that?" she asks him.

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian just gives a nod to the masked teen in front of him. "By all means, you were first." Yes, he knew how not to act like an ass in public.

Once Spoiler's order is in, Damian steps up, speaking in Mandarin. First a question. "How spicy is your hot oil?" Of course, the man at the cart answers to Damian's liking. "Cu Chao Mien please, extra hot oil. And a Char Siu bao, please." He steps aside, and starts to look over the purple-clad vigilante. "So, what's your deal? Costume party?" It was a probing question, he clocked her utility belt, it definitely wasn't something some amateur would have.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Her own order is still cooking, so Spoiler just waits patiently. At the question from Damian, she answers, "Nah. I'm kind of..." she says, trailing off. No she doesn't want to say she's a 'hero'. Plus even the bad guys have rarely heard of her.

"Just was stopping some bad guys," she says finally with a shrug. "Thing I do. But do you like it? The costume? Made it myself?" she says, as she glances down at it. It is good work if someone just had normal resources to work with. A deft hand with a sewing machine, and there seems to be some leather dyed and worked into it to give added protection.
