Location: King's Farm, Upstate NYC.
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Elvis Odell, John Stewart

Elvis Odell has posed:
Up north in "The upstate", theres plenty of quiet places if you get off the highway. Tucked in the low hanging valley between two farm properties lies the back fourty of the King farm, a stretch of land which still uses the ancient stacked stone fencing erected god knows how long ago. It was anyone's guess how long it'd been there untouched and unseen, until a utility chopper flying the power lines spotted something strange through the brush. Then phone calls had been made, and hushed discussions over jurisdiction and treaty. In the end it was the FBI who got the call to roll out and secure the scene, and of course if it was "Strange" Elvis would get dragged along.

Against the cloying darkness of the late night the big crime scene lights blare, fighting back the late night fog that's started to roll in. There's a touch of chill in the air, it's enough to put even some G-men on edge for certain. Elvis strides out of the tree line to casually light a pair of roadflares, and pauses to pull her balaclava down to light a cigarette before flipping those roadflares into a rocky out cropping to make her location all the easier to spot from the air.

"Don't worry" they'd told her over the shitty cellular connection, which is never a good sign. They'd asked a "Subject matter expert" for some assistance, which she was fairly certain meant some jerkoffs from Area 51 and god knows how much paperwork. In anycase she adjusts the sit of her FN-FAL on it's sling, before taking a seat on a convient boulder and waits.

John Stewart has posed:
'Subject matter expert' is a bit of a loaded phrase, but it's accurate enough, with the experience necessary to be called that.

As people are moving about the scene though, there's a sudden green light in the air from the south. It's far too small -and quiet- to be any sort of craft, and far too fast to NOT be an aircraft. Then, it's over the center of the scene, hovering in midair. It's a man in a green and black uniform of some kind, sheathed in a green field. From the 'crime' scene, those below can barely tell it's a black man, shaved bald.

As he looks below, he aims his right hand down, and a green 'beam' of some kind starts to flit about the area, and starts to sweep around.

As the green beam sweeps over the area, nothing outwardly happens to those below, but clearly, the man is doing /something/ up there as he circles around, hovering.

Elvis Odell has posed:
Lifts a gloved hand skyward "Down here! I'll walk you in! Site's burried under a lot of junk, hard to spot it."Casually lifting that helmet off to reveal the stark white skeletal skull beneath, nevermind the cigarette clenched delicately between her teeth. Or how she's apparently smoking that cigarette, details details.

In anycase the majority of the agents seem, on edge at least but Elvis at least seems unphased by the scan. Then again not much does phase everyone's favorite skeletal G-woman. "Site's secure, non active! We're just trying to figure out what to do about, well the mess."

John Stewart has posed:
After a full sweep of the area, the man drops down to ground level, and those around him can see the man closely for the first time.

The uniform he wears is green and black, the symbol on his chest of the Green Lantern Corps. There's no mask to his face, but his eyes glow a solid green color, with green energy sort of emitting from his eyes.

Those green glowing eyes flick to each person in turn, before they center on Elvis. "John Stewart, one of the Green Lanterns assigned to this sector." John offers in greeting, extending his right hand for a handshake. Elvis can see the green ring on his finger, "Are you in charge here?"

Elvis Odell has posed:
Takes the offered hand for a firm squeeze, and it -feels- like theres a whole hand under that glove at least. Neat navy blue with jet black plate carrier and trimmings, helmet hung from her belt. The main event though, is definitely the skull. A pearly white skull, holding that cigarette delicately between it's teeth. Tiny pinpricks of white hovering where those eyes -should- be. "Special agent Odell, New York office of Metahuman affairs."She returns in a hoarse otherworldly growl.

"Don't be alarmed I have a condition, and it's not important to the matter at hand."Casually half turning to nod towards the tree line. "Some sort of we're thinking alien space craft, responding officer saw an occupant allegedly and had a heart attack. Poor sod got airlifted out a few hours ago, but I'm pretty confident our space man is D-O-A."And well she starts away, taking that FAL up in her hands oncemore. "Sorry to call you out here at this ungodly hour."

John Stewart has posed:
"I did a scan of you. You're not insane and you're not trying to attack me, so you're a sentient one with the ability to be reasonable. That's more than I can say about other undead." John is treating this rather casually himself. Then again, the man is a Green Lantern, he's probably seen a LOT of weirdness in his life.

"He's dead. With the state of his craft, he probably got caught up in the fleet battle and got hit by a stray bolt." John starts to walk over to the pod itself, "I can consult the ring and see if there's any sort of ritual to do here, just a moment."

Elvis Odell has posed:
"Plenty worse could be said about some of the living."Elvis muses casually, ashing that cigarette aside casually. "The biggest concern was hazmat, which is why they got the dead girl to walk up to the thing. No reason we can't process it like any other vehicle we find with a stiff inside, way I see it."Shrugging casually now as she takes another slow drag on that cigarette. "Look it over in the lab to make sure theres no crime that occured in our jurisdiction, then dispose of the thing."

"Judging from the plant growth I'd reckon this critter's been'ere more than a few years, you know? I did actually run the system to see if anyone had lodged missing alien notice or anything, but nothing came up."Casually kicking a small stone aside, before taking another seat. "You think this guy's folks wanna come collect the thing, or what?"

John Stewart has posed:
Getting close to the pod, John nods slowly. "This probably came down while I was away." John aims his ring at the pod and green energy forms into a pair of shears that start to clean up the clutter on and around the pod. The construct doubles, triples. "I won't know until I contact Oa about it."

His glowing eyes look to Elvis at a side glance, "to be fair to you, stuff from space doesn't have to work like Earth based viruses. I've seen things that can lay dormant for decades before being awoken. I didn't see anything on the scan, though."

Elvis Odell has posed:
"Fair enough, why we got the expert here."Lifting a gloved hand to gesture towards the trees out to the west. "I found some dead stumps and a few scorched trees out about a hundred fifty yards out, growth all around it is relatively old growth oak so I'm thinking out little pod here came in that direction."Shrugging again a bit as she takes another drag of that cigarette. "Newest thing beyond this pod I could find out here was a couple old Pepsi cans. Last work order was back in 2000, but that would have been about four hundred yards east of here where the power lines are strung up."

"Knocked on the glass a few times when I found the thing, but no movement. Figured he bought it on impact, or during re-entry I guess?"There's another little shrug there as she produces a pack of smokes and chains up a fresh one, before offering the pack towards John. "That's all I got as responding though, not much juicey stuff I know."

John Stewart has posed:
"Not exactly much you can get from a years old crash site." John notes as the shear constructs finish their job. Then, another construct brush is formed, and all the debris is swept to one side... before he aims the ring at the body and pod both, and a green field forms around them.

Slowly, the pod and body lift out of the growth as John 'pulls' them out with the ring. "Feel free to examine the area if you like, but I'm pretty sure I've scooped it all up." John looks to Elvis then, "If you have no objections, I'll take this to a clearing so someone from Oa can claim it and handle transport if that's necessary."

Elvis Odell has posed:
She does rise, snuffing that cigarette out and pulling that neat black balaclava up. "No sense in not being thorough, we dont need some kid finding some alien blaster out here."Helmet on, followed by the white light attached to one side. Carefully she walks the periphery, sweeping the ground as she spirals in towards where the pod had rested. "A pity really, I would have liked to arrest an Alien just once. Scratch one off the bucket list you know, not too many girls with an intergalactic collar."

"Oh and yeah, you tell me it's safe for you to transport I'm hardly going to argue the point. Less paperwork as far as I'm concerned, more time out in the streets making arrests."satisfied with her sweep, she clicks that white light off before glancing back towards John. "Thanks for the help, by the by. The suits won't say it, but I will. You ever need a hand you let me know alright? The Bureau isn't always perfect, but we pay our debts right?"

John Stewart has posed:
"I'll keep that in mind." John informs Elvis as he gets into a relatively clear position to have the pod trail behind him from. "Me and the other Green Lantern have been gone for a while, but we're back around." John starts to float in the air, "I gave your people a phone to contact my ring from, if you need more help with non-Earth affairs."

As he finishes speaking, he gives a respectful nod to Elvis, and starts to fly away with the pod and body in row behind him... and in just about a blink, he's gone. He's /fast/.
