Catching Up
Date of Scene: 31 March 2020
Location: Logan's Cabin
Synopsis: Logan and Jean drink and discuss current stuff.
Cast of Characters: Jean Grey, Logan Howlett

Jean Grey has posed:
So, it's been a... very topsy-turvy few weeks for Jean, and she's been avoiding a lot of her normal haunts. Including hanging out with Logan at the cabin. However, she's now standing at the cabin door, wearing her typical green blouse and skirt, with matching scarf. Also, she brought a six pack of beer. A nice imperial stout with a coffee flavor, since that's what she prefers... and she knows Logan isn't as picky as she is.

Logan Howlett has posed:
He can smell her before she knocks on the door, which gives Logan enough time to stuff some of his dirty laundry under his bed, and hide a few dirty dishes in the cupboard. Logan then rolls his shoulders and clears his throat before opening the door. His gaze moves over the redhead before he steps aside to let her in. "Been a busy week?," he asks, reaching out to seize the six pack as she enters. He pulls one off for her, and then one for him. "I hear all kindsa shit's going on."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean sighs, "Logan, you ain't kidding." She steps in and just flops on the loveseat, taking a swig of her beer. The brand? Dark Truth. Which seems appropriate lately. "Between all my kids and other weirdness... and apparently I missed a grade-A catfight between Emma and Betsy, the rumor mill is flying pretty fast on this." She winces, "Which is giving me a migraine, I swear." Yeah, telepathy has upsides //and// downsides when dealing with gossip.

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan smirks softly and opens his own beer. He takes a long swig and then makes his way over to stand over where she's sprawled on the loveseat. "I get the kid thing. Got a few kinda-kids wandering around, myself. I'm sure you've met 'em? Gabby? Laura?" He takes another pull from the beer and grunts. "Well, anytime you wanna drink that migraine away or...I dunno." He shrugs his muscled shoulders. "Distract yerself. I'm here."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins a bit, "Well, so far neither Rachel nor Cable have said 'snikt' at me, or called me bub, so I think you're fairly safe in //that// regard." She snorts, and gives Logan a wry look, "And well, at least your kids are from the same timeline, so that's one up on me. Man, I feel horrible for Scott... just, hey, look, I think I can finally ask Jean out... and POOF, all the extended family comes up! Yeah, that's not awkward at all!"

Logan Howlett has posed:
He smirks at that and nods. He sits on the arm of the couch, facing her. He glances down at the beer before he brings it to his lips again. "Ah. Scott. How's...uh...that goin'?," he asks, Logan trying to sound casual but not doing exceptional at it. He brings his beer back to his lips for a long pull.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean gives Logan a wry look, as she doesn't need to be a telepath for that, "It's... kinda there? I mean, he's nice and I care about him and he's a good friend, but..." She shakes her head, "I dunno. I've been avoiding him a lot. It's not fair to him, but... this has really freaked me out, Logan." She sighs, "I want my fate to be my own, not anyone else's."

Logan Howlett has posed:
"I get it. You gotta carve your own way, not have it...figured out for you. So, uh...they're you and his kids from a future?" He shakes his head a bit, before he drains the beer. He sets the can aside and glances at the remaining four beers. "Yeah. That's awkward."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean chuckles, "Yeah, I might actually split the beers with you this time around, Logan." She hrms, "Well, Rachel is my kid from another timeline, Cable is from a //different// timeline, and Hope is technically my adopted granddaughter, Cable's kid from his time." She chuckles, "And I... went on a blind date last week, which was... intense, and apparently with someone that had some... honesty issues. So, yeah, I'm thinking I just..." She sighs, finishing her beer in record time. For her, anyway, then shrugs. "I just needed to talk to someone who understands, you know? Well, not necessarily timelines, but just... the whole thing." She gestures around.

Logan Howlett has posed:
He smirks at that and tosses another of the beers towards her, before he opens his second one up. He furrows his brow a bit as he listens, and he brings the beer to his lips for a long swig. Logan nods a bit as he considers what to say. "Well, one thing you and I got his honesty. Years'a saving eachothers lives will do that, you know? And I get it. I gotta say...if Gabby and Lauren'd shown up a decade back I'd have sent 'em packin'. But these days? Nah, these days I gotta look after them. I blame you for the damn morals."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins, "It's infectious, Logan. First you start caring for other people and then you never know where it's gonna lead." She smiles, "You, sir, are a rock. At least, you're my rock. I mean, all these years, you've been there when I needed it. Even if it was just to pass out on your couch after a long night venting about stuff." She gives Logan a wry smile, "I mean, you're always there when I need you. That's... not nothing, you know."

Logan Howlett has posed:
The man grunts softly at that and rises. He brushes his fingers back through his hair and then sips his beer again before he sets it on the table. He walks over to a box on the coffee table and opens it, plucking out a cigar. He fishes out his lighter and cigar cutter. "You look out for people you care about," he says simply, a hint of a growl to the edges of his words.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean gives Logan a decidedly unimpressed look, lips curved in a wry expression. "Well, yeah, I know Logan. And I know you care. I mean, we care. It's why I'm always so comfortable coming over here. I trust you, Logan." She smiles a bit, watching Logan move as she sips from her beer.

Logan Howlett has posed:
He nods to that. "And I'm glad ya do," he says. "I don't like a lot of company, but I like yours." He ends up setting the cigar down for now, unlit, after that look. He makes his way back over and sits down across from her, beer in hand.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean shifts a bit on the couch, resting up against Logan as she nurses her beer, smiling as she says, "Thanks for not lighting up just yet. I appreciate it." Honesty, there, as she takes a deep breath, starting to finally relax. Trust is a powerful thing, after all.

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan raises an arm so she can settle back against him, his hand on her side. He grunts softly, which is his version of 'you're welcome'. The man looks down at her as she leans up against him and gets comfortable. "It can wait."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean chuckles, "Yeah, but for how long?" She gives Logan a sideways look, as if she's not entirely referring to the cigar at this point. She nestles rather contentedly into the crook of Logan's arm, legs folded up underneath her on the couch as she just looks, and feels, very content.

Logan Howlett has posed:
He finds his fingers lightly tracing her side as she leans back against him, the man taking in her scent with his feral senses. He brings his beer back to his lips and turns to stare out the window at the woods and lake beyond. He's quiet for a very long moment, simply content with her there, and his fingers lightly touching, and her scent. Eventually, he speaks again. "You need any help with those...future-kids of yours...just ask. I'm not good at kids but maybe I can take 'em off your hands for awhile or something. I dunno."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean laughs at that, "I think they're good. I mean, they haven't been asking for an allowance or anything. Hell, Cable is older than my dad. Rachel's about my age, and so's Hope, for that matter." She grins, "Not //quite// the same as Laura and Gabby, who are both adorable, by the way." Yup, adorable murderbears. Just like their 'dad'.

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan chuckles a bit at that. "I dunno if I'd ever call Laura 'adorable', but I won't tell her you said it." He smirks softly and glances down at her at his side, the man admiring her for the moment. He brings his beer to his lips again.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins, "I think Illyana called Gabby a 'murder dropbear' once. I'm not entirely sure what that is, but it seems fitting." She mmms and relaxes, sensing the gaze from Logan as she sips her beer. Then she murmurs, "How have you been? I feel bad that I haven't come out to see you. I should have done that earlier." Regrets, she might have a few.

Logan Howlett has posed:
"Eh, I'm alive. Gettin' by." His fingers idly, lightly trace her side. It's an almost subconcious touch as they talk. "Doin' better right now then I have been in awhile. Life's just been trudgin' by. Tending the grounds. Keeping an eye on the kid. Doing what I do."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean chuckles, "Well, you're definitely the best at it... I think I'm going to need to visit Emma at the Hellfire Club tomorrow. Just hoping that it hasn't gotten too testy there." She mmms and arches, looking up towards Logan, "She's actually rather nice, and a bit... well, honestly she makes me think of what I might have become, if I hadn't been sent to the Professor when I was ten."

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan dips his gaze, unable to help admiring her as she arches like that. "Mn. Emma? Haven't really spent any time with her yet. Hellfire Club?" He furrows his brow a bit at that, considering. "I'd offer to go with, but...sounds like the kinda place I'd have to get all dressed up for, and I don't own a suit or nothin'.."
