Dream is the Lord of The Dreaming. He is a First God of immense personal power and safeguards the dreams of mortals while they sleep. He can be cold and distant, and sometimes has a hard time recognizing the value of frail individual mortal lives.

Timeline

Timeline:
The Endless have existed since the first sparks of mortal awareness were forged in reality. Past, present and future are far from firmly set with Dream. He exists in the future and the past both. The most major incident for Dream was when the previous incarnation, known as Morpheus, was killed by the Furies in the 80s. 'Daniel', born a human, inherited the title of Dreamlord after the passing of his predecessor.

Personality

Dreamlord:
Dream is a solemn and quiet figure. He speaks rarely except in the presence of close friends and associates. The duties of his station are taken quite seriously and he genuinely cares about every resident of The Dreaming. His sense of humor is subtle and rare, and prefers clever turns of phrase or witty entendre over cruder jokes and humor.

Character Sheet

Powers

Dreamlord:
Dream is the lord of the Dreaming. He has absolute power in that realm, to create or destroy, to nurture or neglect. Dream ensures that The Dreaming is free from malfeasant predators that would snack on mortals dreaming into the Astral realms.

First Gods:
The Endless are peers of the First Gods. Dream does not need to eat, sleep, or respirate. He can endure the heat of blazing suns and the cold of an endless vacuum. He is beyond hazards such as weapons and radiation. To wound an Endless requires immensely potent magics combined with careful preparation to put them in a vulnerable position. Dream can be perfectly understood by any mortal that speaks to him and can speak every language ever spoken. He is functionally immune to telepathic intrusion and assault.

Skills

Dreamcrafter:
Dream's art is dreams. He crafts both dreams and nightmares, some of them manifesting as self-aware ideologues in their own right. He can send dreams of prophecy or portent to mortals, plague villains with nightmares, or even bar someone from ever dreaming-- or sleeping-- again.

Storyteller:
Dream is a masterful storyteller. Even without using magic, he can draw people into stories and tales and keep their attention indefinitely.

Weaknesses

Ethics:
Dream is beholden to the natural laws of hospitality. He will not attack a guest in his home or dishonor his host while travelling. Dream will fulfill his agreements to the letter, even if they risk him great harm or death.

Magic:
The power of the Endless is almost infinite, but they are beholden to the same rules as the rest of Creation. Properly prepared spells and rituals can summon him, bind him, or even trap him.

New Guy:
Daniel is only about 30 years old as he experiences time. His brothers and sisters (save Despair) are millions upon millions of years old. He has the memories of the previous incarnation of Dream, but has not quite honed his instincts or his ability to draw fully upon those old experiences.
