A bragging, swaggering bully with plenty of weight to throw around. Frederick J. Dukes, A.K.A. "The Blob" is a mutant whos powers make him a very tough customer and who's attitude makes him generally unpleasent to be around. There's little he seems to like more than pushing smaller people around. A member of The Brotherhood, it's debatable if Fred really buys into the Mutant-First rhetoric or if he's really just looking for a place to belong.

Blusterous:
It seems like an easy joke to say that Freddy boy is full of hot air but its true. Ever since he ran away from home, Freds been able to boss, bully, and generally shove about anyone he pleased. There have been smarter folk but its only in these last few years that he's been meeting tougher! Going that long in your life without having met someone that can put you down in your britches is bound to give anyone a bit of swagger in their stride. Granted, his boasting and roasting is a loose wall piled up to hide that soft, rotten underbelly he's got... but who's going to stick around Fred Dukes long enough to figure that out?

Insecure:
I lied on that last one. Not all of Freds choices are motivated by his own self-loathing. He is a complex and enigmatic person with unfathomable depths. He is an engine driven by strange and unknowable motivations... This is also a lie. I lie, a lot, but not about this next thing. Freds insecurities are what make him this mean-spirited, angry behemoth just as much, if not more than his mutant gene. He knows he is a weak idiot so he detests those he thinks are smarter or stronger than he is. He hates the confident, pretty people. The charming, jeering gadabouts. The swaggering, handsome, beautiful heros or cunning villains. He hates them because he will never be them. Because every joke, wise crack, or insult sinks deeper than an adamantium bullet. Even a laugh is enough to set him off. Maybe it was just a funny text, didn't even have to be about him. So long as he's already on edge, it could be enough to set off at least a brief rampage. Its all a front, a smokescreen to protect his hurt, little feelings, loud and bright so people don't look too close or listen too intently.

Self-Loathing:
There isn't too much that Fred does that can't be drawn back to the fact that deep down, he hates himself. It is there in the bones of everything he's ever done, it'll be there in the foundation of everything he'll ever do and its in every brick thats built the wall between himself and everything he'll never allow himself to do. He hates himself because hes a mutant, he hates himself because he's a failure, he hates himself because he's just some fat, lumbering idiot. Because he hates himself, he'll never try to improve or change. He doesn't deserve it. There are some villains that have rivels or archnemesi across the isle on the side of the angels but Fred will never manage that. There will never be anyone that hates him more than he hates himself.

Pretty Strong:
So, yeah. It's nothing special, just on top of being indestructible, immovable, and the fact that he'l never, ever get so much as a pimple, he can also benchpress as much as 5 tons. No Biggie.

Try and Move Me:
Now, the skin thing and that fat stuff? Icing, icing on top of a whole lot of cake, a quarter ton of it. At will and so long as he was in contact with a solid surface, Fred is able to, via a monodirectional, gravitational force, anchor himself in place. This effectively roots him in place. With concentration, he can 'sink' this anchor deeper and deeper until he is virtually immovable! Until someone like the Hulk comes along or figures out that you can just kind of rip up the ground he's standing on.

Xxxxing Indestructable:
Not literally, there is actually quite a lot that can harm The Blob but your average person will be hard pressed to lay hands on it. His skin itself is remarkably durable and elastic, resisting most, if not all conventional means of harm. Even adamantium blades are hard pressed to find purchase! Absolutely immune to skin disease, he is also highly resistant to extreme highs and lows of temprature, equally capable of enduring and sluffing off being frozen as well as wading through intense flames. Its even a damn trick to get the man to feel pain! His nerves seemingly refuse to register anything as painful until things start getting absolutely ridiculous! Now that's just his Skin, we haven't even talked about the mans padding! The fatty deposits that exist in such abundance are super humanly absorbant, able to absorb, trap, and expell anything that tries to punch through thanks to the help of his ridiculous skin.

Nimble For a Big Man:
It would be understandable to take a look at Fred and think that he was some lumbering, glacial slob. The thing is though, when you can lift cars about, a few extra pounds doesn't seem to bother you as much. While not super-humanly so, Fred is quite athletic and nimble, easily catch the unwary on their heels and summarily put them on their behinds

Passing-Mutant:
At a glance, Fred just looks like a big guy that could maybe consider exercising a little. A lot of mutants arn't so fortunate and suffer for it.

Wrasslin:
For a while, Fred made a bit of extra cash doing house shows for small wrestling promotions. He learned a bit of the work before he became a public criminal. While, yes, Professional Wrestling is as real as a soap opera, getting a super-powered suplex is still liable to put most people in traction.

Fat Stacks:
When you're able to just walk open and peel open an ATM, you'll find you are often flush with cash... even if it all seems to be in 20s.

Weaknesses

Criminal:
Fred is a known criminal and mutant terrorist. His face hangs up in post offices and comes up searches. Without falsifying his identity or otherwise obfuscating who he is, he cannot access or do a lot of simple, mundane things that many people take for granted. No bank accounts, no mailing address, he even has trouble getting ahold of cell-phone from a proper provider.

Insecure:
Freds many insecurities can by preyed upon in order to manipulate and goad him as desired by those that work the levers. Be it stick or carrot, Fred falls for such things more often than he likes.

Short-Tempered:
For a man with as thick of skin as he has, you'd think that Mr. Dukes would be a little bit more difficult to rile. While he usually operates from a position of false smug superiority, Fred can be sent into minor or major tantrums by smart mouths or disrespect.

Vulnerabilities:
While Fred's hide and fat insulate him against most mundane and even extreme forms of attack, they are not a perfect aegis. His skin can be pierced by magical weapons or sufficiently intense, focused beams of energy. On less fantastic terms, where there is insufficient fat to absorb the impact, he is vulnerable to concussive force.
