The first iteration of the US Super-Soldier program. Recruits from the US Armed Services were assigned to a special detachment supervised by Colonel Chester Phillips and attached to the Strategic Scientific Reserve. Project: Rebirth assessed hundreds of candidates in search of a volunteer who would be suitable for the Super-Soldier Serum. Doctor Abraham Erskine selected Steve Rogers as the primary test subject. Before he was injected, Isaiah Bradley and a number of African-American soldiers were used in the preliminary trials before going to the final version of the serum.

After the war, Project: Rebirth was folded into Weapon Plus. It would become the basis for a great deal of research into metagenetics.
