A stranger in a strange place initially, Matthew has found a way to adapt to a new world. He is a freelance security specialist of some reputation. He is actually a demon, not a vampire, but most of his characteristics are vampiric in nature. He spent many years among the homless population of New York and so he has a soft spot for the homeless and a bad reaction to those who actively harm the homeless.

Timeline:
*1973: Matthew was created by his mother, Viviarra, as a jealous act when she met Lilith and her daughter Vampirella. She wasn't a mother really, just wanted what Lillith had.

*1980: His mother grew tired of him, found a new physical plaything, and dropped him on Earth. Dropped being the key word, he stuck his head and spent 6 months as a John Doe in a coma.

1981: When he awoke he had no real memory of his prior life and was placed in 'The System' in southern New York state. That didn't last long as his need for food became clear and it wasn't well regarded.

*1981: Not exactly human, but not exactly a vampire Matthew was able to slip away in the night when he was being set up for transport to a state mental institution. Education is very different when you were 'born' half grown and so he was able to fall off the map and vanish into the streets among the other lost rats.

1991: An accident protecting a fellow homeless left him with a bad concussion. The plus side, his memory came back and now he knows what he is.

*1992: After years living in the streets and off the grid, Matthew makes his way back into society with a new sort of education under his belt. Like before, his education is less than formal and he spent his time breaking into places, learning about alarms, learning the hard way how to bypass systems, learning how to spot flaws and weaknesses in buildings and systems, and existing on the blood of what he deemed 'bad people'.

*2002: A false identity was developed: Matthew Jackson. It helped him to get a driver's license and the ability to get work, if anybody looks too close they will discover Matthew Jackson was born and died in December 15, 1973.

*2023: Matthew has made a name for being a freelance security specialist, despite not being able to provide any degrees or certificates. Word of mouth is getting his name out there, so there is something to be said about hands-on training and learning to be able to do more than just live.

Personality

Charismatic Enigma:
While he is very slow to trust people, survival is survival. He needs to feed and nothing changes that. Sometimes he can rob a blood bank, sometimes not as much. While he isn't the most attractive in the world, he's not unappealing either. He has studied how people interact with one another and when he needs to, he has learned to read the best way to lower a person's guard. No magic involved, just studying people and getting them to try and solve him.

Reserved:
While not shy, Matthew isn't the most outgoing person in the universe. He speaks when spoken to and when he is working. There are a few that he is comfortable enough to start a conversation with willingly. The only exception is when he is hungry and must feed. If he can't get a willing subject or get blood from a bank, he does have a limited amount of "charm" to get him that.

Wary:
New people are a difficult thing initially. Growing up on the streets of New York, in a manner of speaking, makes one careful with who one lets get close. He is fully capable of having conversations and relationships, he's just slow to trust.

Demonic Appearance::
He can grow fangs and when in combat his eyes glow a blood red.

Demonic Attraction::
For those that are already attracted to him, he can mesmerize/emotionally manipulate on a deep level, but only lasts for about 30 minutes before it has to be applied again.

Demonic Physiology::
A living demon, he doesn't age or contract disease.

Demonic Senses::
His eyes can see in the dark so long as there is a little, ambient light present. He can use his sense of smell for tracking and identifying people. Hearing is precise like that of a professional musician, more focused close by than a long distance.

Speed::
His demonic ancestry makes him capable of running at a sustainable rate of 30 mph for about 30 minutes. If he pushes he can reach 40 mph, but not long enough to make it worthwhile and it drains him a great deal. His reflexes are on par with an Olympic caliber boxer.

Strength::
His heritage makes him able to dead lift two tons, but has to be focused and can't move it far. He can carry a ton without too much issue, moving freely with it for a time.

Vampiric Bite::
His bite doesn't cause pain, instead it causes a pleasurable euphoria, whether he likes the target or not. Once he has fed, he can lick the wound closed to cover his tracks. While he can kill with the bite, it isn't his practice. Over time he has gotten very good at knowing when is enough and what is dangerous to his prey.

First Aid::
Very basic first aid. Nothing on par with a medic, but the sort of training offered by the American Red Cross. CPR, bleeding control, basic splints, and shock treatment.

People Reading::
A skill learned from living, not by classic education. Over time, he just learned how to get an idea of how a person is going to act and how they are going to react to stimuli around them. While this isn't an exact science, he is right more times than he is wrong.

Security::
While he doesn't have any traditional training in security, Matthew spent a lot of years living in the homeless population of New York. He had to learn, usually the hard way, how to learn various security skills. He is capable of physical threat assessment to a location, blind areas in security cameras, lock picking, security system bypass (other than extremely advanced systems), and other less common skills.

Self-Defense::
Self defense doesn't necessarily mean martial arts. Matthew is a very capable brawler in the sense that he can box, throw a few basic kicks, and wrestle around with understanding of a few choke holds. It isn't pretty and he isn't above gouging eyes, fish hooking the face, and breaking bones. To put it mildly, there's nothing pretty about the way a survivor fights.

1994 Ford Bronco::
An older, but mechanically sound vehicle for driving year round. It is legally licensed and insured. As legal as the rest of his identity.

Apartment::
It isn't anything fancy, but he lives in a one room studio apartment.

Income::
While he isn't getting rich anytime soon, his work as an independent security contractor provides a good living. No longer homeless, he doesn't live beyond his means and has to real interest in most material things.

This kills most things and he has always assumed it will kill him too, but has never tested the theory.

Demon, Not a Vampire::
He has to eat (specific), breathe, and sleep. He must feed on human blood for sustenance, though can get it from blood banks so it doesn't have to be fresh.

Inhuman::
He can pass for human, but his demonic nature is something someone could discover if they take time to investigate him.

No History::
He wasn't born here, so he has no real history on record. He has a paper-thin identity in the world, but past a driver's license it won't hold up to scrutiny.

Stake Though the Heart::
This kills most things and he has always assumed it will kill him too, but has never tested the theory.

Sunlight:
Sunlight will not kill him instantly, but it doesn't feel good. It is almost an instant sunburn that progresses quickly. If he keeps his skin covered with clothing, he can last a little longer in the sun. He needs continually protect his eyes from it the sun or risk severe pain and temporary blindness.

Susceptible To Magics::
Magics can be used against him for binding or summoning if the subject is able to get a quantity of his hair, flesh, or bodily fluids he/she can summon him and potentially bond him to their will. If someone were able to get his true name, this would be even worse. Fortunately for him, even he doesn't know that.

Young::
For a Vampiri he is young, older than a teen, but still in his comparable early twenties. This makes him prone to temper flares if pushed too hard. He also is way too confident for his own good.
