Dr. Michael Morbius, Ph.D., M.D., Nobel laureate, is one of the smartest minds in the medical field. Unfortunately, he is doomed to die unless he can find a cure for his condition. He has shunned the public eye as his porphyria has become more advanced, keeping a private life to focus on his work and to keep people from remembering him as a man whose body has turned against him.

Timeline:
*1999: Michael Morbius was born to shipping magnate Demetrios Morbius and Elena Morbius.
^2004: Michael diagnosed with ALAD-Deficiency Porphyria. Doctors predict him to live to the age of 25, at most. Raised primarily by his mother, Elena.
* 2005: Michael tests high in intelligence tests. Father enrolls Michael in gifted program.
2014: Michael graduates with Ph. D. in biochemistry at the age of 15, begins research of genetic diseases in an effort to cure his own condition.
* 2018: Michael becomes second-youngest recipient of Nobel Prize in Science for his work on infectious diseases and the development of a cancer cure.
* 2019: Morbius is approved for dual citizenship and moves to New York City in America to continue research into curing his condition.

Driven:
Michael knows he is on borrowed time. His own research has shown him he has only a few years to live - his last years will be unspeakable, and he will die bedridden, in agony, and most likely will die insane.
Reclusive:
Michael spent most of his life hiding from the world - the sun, other people who would tease him about his condition, adults who would patronize him. He is more comfortable in a lab, under protection.

Michael used part of his wealth to fund the purchase of a building in Manhattan, where he was able to set up a state-of-the-art laboratory focused on chemistry and biochemistry. The privately-funded lab is solely for him to study a cure for his condition.

Alad-Deficiency Porphyria:
This is the genetic disorder that has plagued Michael for most of his life. In recent years, he has begun to suffer seizures, increased sensitivity to sunlight, and erratic mood swings. Unless something changes, he will be dead in three years.
Social Weakness:
Michael hasn't had much experiences in social matters. If it isn't a conference, or a seminar, or any other science meeting related to finding out more about his specialities, he interacts only when forced to. He can come across as stand-offish, but it is because he doesn't know how to act.
