The Strategic Scientific Reserve was a department of the Allied War Effort tasked with studying exotic and alien materials and sciences in an attempt to enhance warfighters. A major project of the SSR was studying the human genome, producing the Super-Soldier program and Steve Rogers.
The SSR was dissolved at in 1949, and with the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty, was reintegrated as a component of SHIELD.
