Taneleer Tivan is one of the oldest beings in the universe. He hails from the planet Cygnus X-1, a place so ancient that the sun has already gone nova and taken the solar system with it. It exists only in the records of The Watchers and other origin species. As the last of his species, Death has spared him from her reaping as long as he has the will to live. He is obsessed with the collection of things-- and living creatures-- that are powerful or utterly unique.
Tivan's home is currently the distant locale known as Knowhere. There he indulges his monomania with the stolen loot of a hundred-thousand worlds, both on display as well as hidden in iterative artificially-created demesnes.
