Some 500,000 years ago, Thanos attempted to replicate the research of the early Oans and pierce the veil of reality to subvert the creation of the entire universe. For his arrogance he was rebuked by and his access to the Power Cosmic vastly limited. He turned to military conquest after that and frequently clashed with the Skrulls, Kree, Oa, and other spacefaring civilizations. He contributed to the rise of the Citadel and the collapse of the Tamaranean Empire.
