Tyler Locke is one of the Locke siblings, who are members of a family line dating back to American Revolutionary War times. his friends to Baja.
* 2013: Rendell Locke, Tyler's father, is shot and killed by Sam Lesser.
They move to Rendell's familial home, Keyhouse Manor, located in Lovecraft, Massachusetts.

defeated and life around Keyhouse Manor returns to normal. Tyler decides to allow the Riffel Rule to
affect him so he can live a normal life and forget about the keys. But fate has another plan because
there is a terrible accident in the caves at the demonic door and Bode vanishes. Tyler uses the
Memory Key to turn off the Riffel Rule so he can continue the hunt for his little brother.
*
2021: After five fruitless years of searching, Tyler, having recently completed his education at
M.I.T., moves to New York City with his sister, Kinsey, to open a private investigation service.
It's all a front to fund his continued search for Bode Locke.

Personality
Bold:
Tyler has been the de facto head of the Locke household for a long time now, and has been
involved in some serious situations while acting on behalf of his family. He has the will to act and
the experience to back that up. In a crisis, he is capable of much.
Family First:
The Lockes are a family bound together by personal and familial tragedy. Although Tyler has had
friends and lovers, his only real concern is the welfare of his blood relatives. No one who has ever
tried to get between Tyler and his family has ever remained in his life.
Generous:
When it comes to helping friends or strangers, Tyler tends to be pretty generous both with his
money and his time. He's a sucker for a hard-luck case or an underdog.
Single-Minded:
Tyler is fiercely devoted to the ongoing search for Bode Locke, who vanished in an incident at
the demonic door in the caves near Keyhouse Manor. He understands the value of doing other things.
He completed his degree. He opened a business. He even allows himself recreation. But in the end,
all other pursuits fall away when compared to the hunt for his little brother.
Character Sheet
Powers
Demon Resistance:
Demons are unable to take one of the special key from any member of the Locke family. A Locke
could choose (or be tricked) to give a key to a demon, but the demon can't take a key from a Locke
against their will.
Skills
Computer Science:
Tyler has a B.S. in Computer Science with a Mathematic minor from M.I.T. His natural interest in
computing and networking combined with his formal training from one of the most prestigious
technical colleges in the world give him a wide array of digital tools at his disposal.
Martial Arts:
During his four years in college Tyler studied at a dojo that taught Brazilian jiu-jitsu and
MMA. He's /far/ from being Batman, but in most mundane self-defense situations he is capable of
dominating attackers.
Private Investigation:
The private investigation business is primarily a front for Tyler's search for his younger
brother, Bode. But any successful business front requires, you know, actually doing some business.
Tyler took a 6-month course on PI essentials in preparation for applying for his PI license. He's
far from an expert, but he knows the basics.
Resources
Keyhouse Manor:
Located in Lovecraft, Massachusetts, the KeyHouse Manor is an estate owned by the Locke Family.
Tyler is the current keeper of the house. If he needs an enchanted stronghold to retreat to,
Keyhouse is there.
Keys:
The following is a list of keys that both Tyler and his sister, Kinsey, have access to in New
York City. These keys do not require special locations in and around Keyhouse Manor to
function.
Alpha Key: When inserted into the chest of a demon, it turns them into whispering
iron. If this is done to a host possessed by a demon, the host is killed in the
process.
Angel Key: The angel key works in conjunction with a harness upon which are fixed
two feathered wings. When the harness is worn and the key inserted, the wings grow and allow the
wearer to fly. While flying, the wearer can carry up to 200 pounds of weight, more if they are also
using the Hercules key.
Anywhere Key: Opens a door to anywhere the bearer can visualize in
their mind.
Head Key: When inserted into the back of someone's head, they form an astral body
outside of their inert real body. Also an entryway appears into the person's mind, granting access
to their memories. By putting media (books, DVDs, etc.) into the entryway, the person instantly
knows these things as though they had read/watched them. Also, memories can be physically removed
from the person's mind, causing them to forget those memories until such time as they are
returned.
Hercules Key: Embedded in a necklace, this key grants supernatural strength to
anyone who wears the necklace while the key in attached. It's not Superman-level strength, but the
wearer is stronger than any normal human.
Identity Key: When inserted into the chin of a
willing or unwilling target, it changes that person's appearance to match the desire of the key's
user. This can change size (within normal human limits), age, gender, clothing, etc. It cannot,
however, change someone to look like an actual existing person.
Matchstick Key: This key
causes intense, potent fire to spring into being, immolating materials or people.
Mending
Key: Works in conjunction with a magical cabinet that Tyler has moved from Keyhouse Manor to his NYC
office. Any broken object placed within it is repaired when the cabinet is closed and the key
inserted into the lock. The cabinet can resize itself to fit objects of various sizes.
Music
Box Key: This key is matched with an antique music box. When activated, the key operator can speak
the name of a person who is within sight. That person obeys commands the key operator speaks into
the box. Supernatural, otherworldly, extraplanar, or otherwise very strong-willed beings might be
able to resist this.
Pi Licenses:
Tyler holds private investigator licenses in both Massachusetts and New York.
Wealth:
The Locke family fortune is considerable. Tyler is a bit of a miser, though, and prefers to
generate money from his private investigation business rather than tap into the Locke family
coffers. But if it's needed, it's there.
Whisper Iron:
Tyler discovered a piece of whisper iron near the demonic door. It is enough to forge a single
key. As he did with the Alpha Key, Tyler can use this inconceivably rare piece of otherwordly metal
to forge a single key with a power of his design. It's likely he may never see another piece of
Whisper Iron in his life, so he is saving this for an emergency. He keeps it in an expensive, high-
end safe in his NYC office. Kinsey knows it is there and knows the combination to the safe.
Weaknesses
Keys:
Tyler's abilities are centered around the keys. Without them, he's just some dude.
Normal Human:
Without the keys there is really nothing special about Tyler Locke. He's an otherwise completely
normal human with no special abilities or powers.
Temper:
When provoked, Tyler can have a nasty temper. This is especially true when a threat to his
family is involved. He can definitely be manipulated by someone who is aware of this shortcoming.
