Tyler was born into a criminal enterprise and raised in the hopes that he would one day succeed his father under the mantle of the Quartermaster. A life arming the superhumans of tomorrow from the shadows wasn't his intention however. So, he stole a few 'rejected' gadgets from his father's armory and set out to make a name for himself.

Personality

Extroverted:
While he might have grown up somewhat sequestered in the Quartermaster's workshop, Tyler didn't take long to break out of his shell once he entered his teenage years. Now, it's a little harder to get him to shut up than it is to get him to start talking.

Independent:
Tyler could've easily stayed under his father's wing and inherited the mantle of the Quartermaster when the man was ready to retire.... but he didn't want to do that. While he's entirely capable of working as part of a team, he has no trouble standing on his own when the situation calls for it.

Prideful:
As a maker, Tyler's learned to take pride in the things he designs, whether it's something for fun or something meant for the world of superhumans. Sometimes, it just means that the things he puts his effort into come out better than they would've otherwise, but not always.

Stubborn:
While this is somewhat tempered normally, once Tyler's got his mind fully latched onto an idea or opinion -- and especially if it's something he considers to be within his field of expertise -- it's not going to be easy to change his mind.

Skills

Engineering:
From an early age, Tyler's been a witness to the engineering process, and as soon as it was deemed 'safe,' they started actively assisting in it. He has a reasonable grasp of how to invent mechanical devices, as well as disassemble, reassemble, repair, and debug them, from years of study under his father, supplemented by college coursework.

Fabrication:
When you make a living creating things out of far-fetched ideas -- or apprenticing for someone who does -- you learn a thing or three about the actual process of taking that idea and turning it into something people can hold in their hands, a physical proof of concept. Given the time and materials, Tyler's capable of putting together a variety of gadgets to some degree of success... at least eventually! Try not to mind the explosions. They build character.

Foamcraft:
Tyler's quite capable of designing a healthy number of contraptions that he can dream up... but the problem is, when trying to put those skills to use in the world of competitive cosplay, there are generally rules against many of the materials he might want to use based on his upbringing. The solution? Foam and thermoplastics. Given enough time and materials, Tyler can create harmless but believable-looking replicas of just about anything.

Sewing:
Any self-respecting cosplayer eventually learns how to sew, given the requirement that many competitions have that the entrant make their own costumes, and Tyler's no different. Over the years, he's become a capable tailor both for himself and for others... as long as he's got reference images to work from.

Resources

Frankenarmor:
Less a fully functional gadget, more the remnants of gizmos that... just didn't make it for one reason or another, which have been welded together with careful precision into effectively a suit of body armor with the equivalent strength of Kevlar that still allows for the wearer to have good mobility.

Handyman's Hands:
Originally created for a villain going by The Handyman, these are a pair of wrist-mounted prehensile hands made to mimic the motions of the wearer's actual hands at a distance. They're linked to a launching mechanism via carbon fiber wires, and each finger comes to end in a point. These can be used to grab and pull items that weigh less than the wearer + gear, or pull the wearer towards the object in question when the object weighs more. They can also be used for a limited form of long-distance combat, but can only be fired in straight lines.

Universal Subtractor:
Once meant for a fledgling thief, the Universal Subtractor is a unique tool used to launch targetted attacks against powered systems; as long as it can be plugged into a connected port, like a power outlet or even a USB jack, it can be used to redirect-and-siphon the flows of energy from specific systems, like surveillance devices, electronic locks or even trivial devices like a car stereo. Against something without accessible external ports, however, it's powerless.

Weaknesses

Bad Reputation:
Like it or not, being the scion of a family rooted in villainy comes with certain expectations about who you're going to grow up to be. While not known to the public at large, those who do the digging could learn of Tyler's heritage easily enough... which could be enough for him to be treated with suspicion if his actions don't seem to align with the family history.

Gloryhound:
Tyler could've easily lived a lucrative life as The Quartermaster II, but made the choice not to -- he wants to make a name for himself and for that name to be known, just like some of the most famous superhumans out there. Dangerous for someone who's ultimately only human, but doubly so for someone who puts that desire for fame ahead of his own safety.

Perfectionist:
What happens when you take pride and bullheadedness, shake them up real good, and serve them on the rocks? You get perfectionism. Where others could create something perfectly fine and functional, when Tyler's creating something, he can't help but continue tinkering until things meet his standards... even if it puts himself or others in danger.

Unhappy Customers:
The gadgets that Tyler uses weren't things that he designed and made for himself; they were commissioned from the Quartermaster for others who ultimately rejected them. Seeing 'their' gear being put to effective use could very well make Tyler a target of jealous villains.
