Though [[[Hela]]] rules over the dead in [[[Helheim]]], a special exemption exists for Odin to guard the souls of warriors who died in battle. He created the Valkyrie to fulfill that goal. They travel across the [[[Demiurge]]], slipping in and out of the Astral plane to collect the souls of willing, honorable warriors.

Outside of their home, Valkyrie typically are somewhat insubstantial. Only the dead or dying, or those with magical talents, can see a Valkyrie. In their astral state-- straddling between the Astral and material universe-- they are difficult to interact with.

A Valkyrie is quite capable of manifesting entirely in the material world, and they are the most formidable fighters of any of the [[[Aesir]]]. They descend from the [[[Fallen]]] known as [[[Lillith]]], sired by [[[Odin]]].

A Valkyrie can lift nearly fifty tons and is incredibly hardy and tough. They ride a winged mount that is as physically strong as they are as well as having low intelligence. Each of the Valkyrie are unique and have their own arms, armor, and techniques.
