|Profile=Bishop is from a violent future over 80 years from the present day. A member of the X.S.E. he tried to fight to preserve Xavier's dream in as much as it could in a future that had been shaped by such violence. When the mutant criminal Trevor Fitzroy killed his sister it began a manhunt that would lead to Bishop chasing him to the present day. When he arrived he found that his partners were gone, and there was no trace of Trevor Fitzroy that he could find. Finding himself in a time where the heroes he idolized still lived, he's set out for answers and to see if he can keep his grim future from ever happening.

There is no sign of Randall or Malcolm and none of Fitzroy. And so the quest for answers begins.

|Personality=

<span style="color:#1f75FE">'''Good Friend:'''</span>

<br>While few would call Bishop 'friendly' to those that he calls friend will have his loyalty for life. As the saying goes, 'A friend will help you move. A true friend will help you move a body.' Bishop falls into the latter category. Around those that he is comfortable enough to call friend, the cracks in his stern exterior show and can even crumble away at times, while he will laugh about a funny adventure, or have a drink sharing old war stories over board game night.<br><br>

<span style="color:#1f75FE">'''Hunter:'''</span>

<br>There is a darker part of Bishop that he doesn't like to admit exists. Deep down, he enjoys the hunt. Though he truly wants and believes in peace between Man and Mutant secretly he is glad that there are Mutant Criminals out there to hunt. Bringing them down and bringing them to justice gives an outlet to pride, when he tells himself he is good at this. It also gives him a way to slake his rage at the deaths of his parents, his sisters, and whenever he couldn't save someone. He comes from a violent time.<br><br>

<span style="color:#1f75FE">'''Idealist:'''</span>

<br>Bishop believes, deeply, in the cause of peace and in Xavier's Dream. He feels that those that threaten the peace need to be dealt with swiftly and with finality, like you excise a tumor. He knows this is not how Xavier would want to see his dream realized, but he hopes that if someday peace is realized, men like him can dissappear into obselescence and be forgotten in favor of the brighter tales of Charles Xavier and his X-Men.<br><br>

<span style="color:#1f75FE">'''Protector:'''</span>

<br>All Bishop has ever wanted to do is protect people. His parents died when he was too young to save them, and he spent the rest of his life throwing himself into danger to make up for that. His powers make him very hard to kill, but even when the danger to him is clear he doesn't hesitate throw himself into harms way to protect an innocent. However it also means he doesn't hesitate to take out someone threatening an innocent with the greatest deal of efficacy possible, include lethal force.<br><br>

<span style="color:#1f75FE">'''Ruthless:'''</span>

<br>Some people are a delicate instrument, like a scaple. Bishop is a broadsword, and he knows this. If you are a criminal, and if you threaten the peace he will take you down. He is perfectly willing stain his hands so other's don't have to. Even though he knows this is not truly part of Xavier's dream he feels he is from to violent of a place to every really be able to exemplify it the way those he idols do.

|Powers=

<span style="color:#8a14ff">'''Energy Absorption:'''</span>

<br>Bishop's mutant gift enables him to absorb virtually all forms of energy he comes in contact with, be it ambient or directed. Once absorbed this energy can be temporarily stored within him as sort of a battery, used to enhance his physical capabilities and physiology to superhuman levels, converted into other types of energy and ultimately redirected back out again in a manner of his choosing. This power is passive in nature and so always on without an on or off switch and is extremely sensitive in nature. Be it the kinetic energy given off by sitting in falling snow or directed energy assaults from the likes of Cyclops - he absorbs it. <br><br>In general this energy must be either striking him directly. If he were in the blast zone of an explosion or an out of control electrical generator, he would absorb that energy, but only the energy directly affecting him; anyone else in a grenade's blast still suffers from it. He cannot absorb energy that is not directly reaching him in some fashion.<br><br>Energies Bishop has been proven capable of absorbing include kinetic, sonic, heat, light, electricity, magic, electromagnetism, psychic and psionic, temporal, bio kinetic, and various elemental sources.<br><br>Bishop is also capable of absorbing multiple sources of energy at the same time such as being charged up simultaneously by his allies although too many competing frequencies can create strain on him physically.<br><br>

<span style="color:#8a14ff">'''Energy Redirection:'''</span>

<br>When Bishop absorbs energy, he stores this energy in an internal battery from which he can then redirect this energy back out or use the energy to temporarily augment his physical capabilities (So Physical Augmentation). His most common use of his power is to either release the stored energy as concussive blasts or to convert the energy into another type of energy or to redirect the same energy he's absorbed back out again. So for example if struck with lightning, he can either absorb and send that lightning back out or he can convert that lightning into concussive blasts or into another form of energy all together. <br><br>Furthermore unleashing charged energy is not at a 1:1 ratio, meaning he can amplify the energy he receives to redirect it with even greater force then he was given<br><br>

<span style="color:#8a14ff">'''Physical Enhancements:'''</span>

<br>Instead of releasing the energy, Bishop can use energy he's stored to temporarily enhance his physical capabilities by considerable degrees. He's capable of using his energy to boost his strength into at least the ten ton range as he's been capable of knocking large opponents through walls, using a tree as a weapon and even stopping a crashing car with his bare hands and lifting and damaging robots and machines. He can also utilize this energy to reinforce his body for added resistance to injury, increase his stamina and accelerate his healing and recovery time and reflexes to beyond human levels for a temporary period of time.<br><br>

<span style="color:#8a14ff">'''Resistances:'''</span>

<br>Bishop has proven resistant to most poisons and toxins. While not immune to telepathic attacks, his ability to absorb psychic energy makes him aware of attempts to read his mind, and he can prove difficult to affect with directed assaults or keep down for the same length of time as others lacking his abilities.

|Skills=

<span style="color:#00CED1">'''Drive:'''</span>

<br>Bishop was able to drive ground based vehicles of his time period at a tactical level. That level of proficiency doesn't tranlate to current day vehicles, but he is able to drive most small passanger vehicles without trouble.<br><br>

<span style="color:#00CED1">'''Investigator:'''</span>

<br>Though he is far more 'Dirty Harry' Calahan than he is Sherlock Holmes, X.S.E. training and experience have taught Bishop how to be a skilled investigator. He can stake out a location, follow a lead, shadow a suspect, and string theory the heck out of a conspiracy. Though he is far from a prodigy in this regard, and often resorts to what was tried and true in his time period. Getting someone to tell him what he needs to know through bribery, intimidation and maybe even some light fisticuffs.<br><br>

<span style="color:#00CED1">'''Marksman:'''</span>

<br>Bishop is a superb marksman, and is particularly skilled with sidearms and more compact carbines. Though he favors favors his X.S.E. issued blasters, they also trained extensively with older projectile firearms for use against mutants with varying degrees of resistance to energy. His skill is on par with someone that achieved the destinction of 'Sharpshooter' in modern militaries.<br><br>

<span style="color:#00CED1">'''Surival:'''</span>

<br>Bishop's prefered hunting grounds is the urban jungle, but his work as an X.S.E. officer included basic surival training. Enough criminals from his time tried to flee into the wilderness that he has picked up some tracking ability, but only very basic, and could be easily lost by someone more familiar with the region. He knows enough that he'd be able to get himself back to civilzation in all but the most savage of wildenress though.<br><br>

<span style="color:#00CED1">'''Tactics:'''</span>

<br>Working with Randall, Malcolm, Shard and other X.S.E. officers, Bishop has become very skilled in small unit tactics, and generally makes good, if often destructive, battlefield decision. In the field with the X.S.E. he was usually looked to be a combat leader, and he was capable in this role, but he has a ways to go before he learns to be a true leader.<br><br>

<span style="color:#00CED1">'''Trained Fighter:'''</span>

<br>His training at the X.S.E. Academy saw him train in a variety of hand to hand techniques adapted from past police and military commando techniques. His style focuses on sharp strikes. Efficent grabbles and quick take downs. The decade of experience that followed has seen him learn a variety of 'veteran tricks' that makes him a very capable, if unspectacular combatant.

|Resources=

<span style="color:#228B22">'''X.s.e. Blasters:'''</span>

<br>Bishop brought with him from the future two X.S.E. blasters that he can use in combat to devastating effect. They are small carbines of blocky design, each about the size of a sawn of shotgun. When going into battle, Bishop wears a harness that lets him holster them over each shoulder. They are meant to be close to mid range combat weapons, ideal for fighting in tight, urban and indoor combat. Each blaster can fire about 50 blasts before needing to be recharged, and they have been modified to allow Bishop to charge them with his powers. Making them a good way to bleed of excess energy he's absorbed but doesn't need to shoot anything with right away.

|Weaknesses=

<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Cannot Be Turned Off:'''</span>

<br>Per his own words, Bishop's powers lack an on or off switch. While there are advantages to this power being passive there are clear disadvantages as situations may arise where you -don't- want him absorbing energy due to risking overload or putting others at risk if he has no means to discharge or use the energy.<br><br>

<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Not Bulletproof!:'''</span>

<br>Bishop's absorption of physical attacks is less effective than the likes of Strong Guy or Sebastian Shaw. While the kinetic energy from knives, bullets, and blunt objects can charge Bishop's 'battery', it only partially blunts their tissue damage. He could withstand a shoulder charge from the likes of Colossus with some risk - a powerful enough strike can render him unconscious - and he's likewise at risk from falls from dangerous heights and attacks with piercing effects such as bullets, blades, and other things that rip and tear.<br><br>

<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Overload Risks:'''</span>

<br>For all intents and purposes, Bishop appears to be effectively invulnerable to energy oriented attacks and effects but there are limits. His body acts as a battery or a glass that is filling up and in order to maintain his he must utilize the energy or discharge it or he risks overloading. It is possible to hit him with strong enough energies and overload this battery causing him to unleash the energies he's stored in in an uncontrollable burst that in turn leaves him unconscious, potentially severely injured or worse. The amount of energy required to do this in a single burst is large - but it could theoretically be accomplished through various means.<br><br>

<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Violent:'''</span>

<br>In conflict, Bishop is aggressive, volitaile and very violent, and quick to go for the most extreme means of pacifying an enemy. Not only will this make it difficulty for him to make and keep heroic allies, but it will lead to trouble with contemporary authority. He's not utterly reckless, but he will shoot first and ask what the consquences are later if he feels a foe is dangerous enough.

Date of Scene: 03 January 2025
Location: Ops Room
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Lorna Dane, Bishop

Lorna Dane has posed:
On opposite sides of an ambiguous, yet gradually widening gulf lie an Enforcer and a Queen.

Armed within and without for warfare, the Enforcer keeps a steady rein on his talent for destruction, reserving the merest and most necessary fragments of it for enemies of a peaceful future he can only dream of. Protective and warm in equal measure, the Queen unleashes valuable lessons in Power upon the crevices of humanity where hate resides, intent on scouring its darkest crevices until there's nothing left to crawl free and threaten a peaceful tomorrow.

Sometimes, they meet somewhere in the middle to share notes.

"You ever see Aladdin, Lucas?" she wonders upon sitting at the central table, dressed in a long and colorful skirt with a flowing black blouse. Just as she's learning how to speak his language in the field without speaking, she's confident the Future Cop is not particularly given to small-talk. "Read Lord of the Rings?"

So she elects to cut right to the point:

"My vizier has been awfully active, lately," follows as she sits back and crosses her legs, inflecting the operative word just so with the grim quirk of a smile. "And I don't know if it means anything... but I DO know that he's getting people killed, and that I don't trust he's doing it with Our best interests in mind. I figured now would be the time to touch base, in case it turns out we do have a problem."

Bishop has posed:
"I have not seen Aladdin nor read Lord of the Rings but I am familiar enough with pop culture since arriving here to guess that you're saying you' have a 'Jafar' problem to your Jasmine efforts."

bishop's deep voice is calm and steady. A bass rumble of fortitude and confidence despite the fact that's probably only managing to say as much as he just did regarding those references through observation of the pop culture interests of the students as opposed ot seeking the media out himself.

ALso memes. He's probably seen his share of memes and gifs. He does work at a school after alll.

Of late, however, he's had most of his free time being used up down either Ops or the Securit Center. When she arrived she woudl have found him at work, reviewing video footage, combinb through names, and scanning databases in search of...something. A data sheet on Alison Blaire is up on one of the monitors as well. So something is clearly up.

Lorna, however, commands his attention as is her right and due privilage. Even if she were not Queen of Genosha...she would have that.

"You'll have to explain more, though. I can say that I hope a wish granting giant blue Genie isn't involved."

Lorna Dane has posed:
There's a balance to crossing that gulf between them, and keeping it requires a great deal of care. Thus, the pause - brief, but thoughtful - before Lorna settles on what he most needs to know:

"He's initiating ops that I know nothing about," she lowly explains, "and filling Genoshan hospital beds with the end results-- his name is Fabian Cortez." Remembering to tack the name on comes with a brisk, circular wave before she pushes her hands back through her hair with a sigh.

"He worships my father," follows in a low tone entirely bereft of subtext or innuendo.

"And I keep him close due to inertia, and because he's got talents worth considering... but I worry about what that combination of factors means, here."

As Lorna folds her hands across her midsection, her eyes flick sideways--

"-- what's up with Alison?"

Bishop has posed:
The gulf...widens slightly. A host of questions begin rushing to Bishop's mind. A long list of 'What Ifs'.

'What If Blob destroys destroys a print shop that caters to anti-mutant rhetoric among its other efforts and in the process gets into a brawl with Spider-Man over the destruction of property and acts of terrorism.

What if Sabretooth guts the ruffians at alocal motorcycle club, not because they called him furbll or hairy, but because he was just in the mood - and then later sold that as his excuse.

What If Lady Mastermind puts a bullet through the head of a Seantor pushing a second round of Registration Acts and the deed is tracked by the Justice League back to her.

What If Magneto-

Bishop sighs. His tension visibly rising as he begins to form the words to the questions ...and then Lorna's question arrives just in time to curve him off that track and he turns his eyes towards ithe monitors.

"I just made a report about this. She's got four stalkers that are literally trying to dress like her and be her. They've been involved in a shooting in Gotham, have harassed her at different venues and at least one of them seems to be metahuman with some sort of super speed.. I hesitate to say mutant but that's not impossible. So far we haven't tracked them down. I've ruled out Purificer Cells or Friends of Humanity. The attempts at her is ...telling. A regular 'Perfect Blue' sort of situation."

It would seem he's more up on his pop culture then he's let on.

Lorna Dane has posed:
"You were at the lecture last Spring," Lorna reminds him. Her brow's arched, not because she's reminding him that: "One needn't be a 'mutant' to be a Mutant."

... it's the 'Perfect Blue' of it. She doesn't even try to hide the bemused squint leveled upon him while she turns this new piece of information over in her head.

"How is she holding up?" comes after just enough of a pause. "Is she safe? Does she need a detail?"

Bishop has posed:
"I remember the lecture ..and I'm being specific with my words for a reason. -Us- . You and I. Those born of that specific genetic legacy. Stalking one of our own..." He raises an eyebrow, "That carries with it a different sort of weight, doesn't it? Especially right now."

He undersands her meaning however and then backs up a litttle to address her questions further while leaning back and looking to the monitor. "It seems her NEw Years Eve concert went off without a hitch. She did warn members of the Institute staff and I've put out an alert to both District X's Department of Metahuman affairs as well as the rest of the X-Men. I did bring up her current security detail and if it needed some sort of reinforcement but I don't think she wants that kind of attention or protection as much as she wants to find and catch them in the act. Keeping eyes on her all times might be easier said then done. We can reinforce security at her events but sticking wih her non stop...,? I"ve tried to get her to restrict her movements and stay at The Institute but..."

Bishop shrugs lightly, "She's a public figure and known mutant on a first name basis with the biggest in the music industry. Easier said then done to lock someone like that down."
