Who did what now
Date of Scene: 18 June 2024
Location: Main Kitchen
Synopsis: Remy and Rhona go check to see how someone snuck over the wall
Cast of Characters: Remy LeBeau, Rhona Lauren

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy sits at one of the tables in the kitchen, a half drunk bottle of beer sitting on the table in front of him. He's currently scrolling though his phone, doing something that doesn't look at all important. Maybe he isn't working, maybe he is on a break, or maybe he is just slacking off.

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona comes bounding up the steps from the backyard, her form visible through the double French doors that lead out to the patio beside the kitchen. Dressed in black shorts, and a red tanktop, the college student darts across the patio upon sneakered feet, her dark hair tied back behind her head, and a pair of shades worn over her eyes. As she steps inside, it is clear that she's a bit breathless, seemingly having been out for a jog.

When she steps inside, she glances down at her wrist, where she wears a smart watch over a dark red sweatband. She eyes it for a moment, her hand removing her shades, as she looks up to see Remy sitting there.

She freezes a bit, her skin covered in a sheen of sweat. In her mind she's telling herself she looks quite dreadful, and 'he' is here!

"Remy..." Rona says in a breathy voice. She glances back outside, like she's about to make a run for it, before she decides otherwise, and simply breezes past him toward the fridge to get a bottle of a cold drink!

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy looks up as he senses more than sees Rhona getting close, and the master thief watches as the brunette jogs up right until she spots him and freezes. He gives her a little finger waggle of a way and grins as he lifts the beer to his lips for a sip.

"Hey chere, looks like you getting in a pretty good workout. How's the weather out there?"

In one smooth motion, Remy uses his foot to push a chair out for her as an invitation to sit.

Rhona Lauren has posed:
From the fridge, Rhona grabs a bottle of cold water. She turns around, thudding the fridge door shut, to see him offering her a chair. She smiles, snaps the bottle lid off, and sweeps herself back over toward him. With the grace of a youthful woman, in top physical shape, the brunette drops herself down lightly upon the edge of the chair, holding the bottle in front of her. "It is absolutely sweltering!" She says, her British voice emphasizing the words, as she leans back upon the chair's embrace. Her shades hit the table with a clatter, and her fingers run through the hairline of her dark locks. She sucks down a drink of the water, before lowering it and capping it again.

She eyes him closely. "I never see you out there doing anything like that, and yet you're in fantastic shape." She tells him, showing a small grin. "What the utter Hell is your secret, anyway, Mister LeBeau?" She inquires, a playful edge to her words, as she fans herself a bit with a free hand.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Oh, I do my own gym time, and a lot of cardio." Remy says with a smile, "I just have better sense than to run out in the heat. If I'm going to be running, it's going to be at night when it's cooler. I get most of my cardio done at night." He picks up the beer and takes a sip, letting the amber liquid pour into his mouth.

Rhona Lauren has posed:
At what the Cajun tells her, Rhona simply shakes her head, after enjoying another sip of the cold water. "I'm definitely not running at night," she quietly says to that idea. When she sets the bottle back down between her thighs, she looks up at him. "Some kid, maybe Junior, or Senior aged, snuck on to the property, and... I don't know. He seemed kind of, suspicious. I walked with him for a bit, on my way to the archery range." She glances to the windows on the other side of the table, then back toward Remy.

"When we got to the dirt path between the main yard, and the range, he told me to close my eyes for a gift. I played along, like a bit of a fool, and he lunged at me. Tried to plant a kiss." She explains, her hand moving up to brush her browline with the backs of a couple fingers. "I put him in a wrist lock, and dropped him in to the dirt. I thought this place was supposed to be safer than this, but maybe I brought it on myself by not immediately having him escorted out?" She shakes her head softly from side to side.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy's joke about doing his cardio at night is quickly forgotten about as Rhona tells her story. The beer gets set down onto the table and his red eyes narrow. "When was this? Where? I have to check the cameras. There shouldn't been any holes in the security grid anymore."

The thief picks up his phone and starts to type into it, more serious than Rhona has probably ever seen him. "Did you get a name? A description?"

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona hadn't thought about what she'd said, when she'd said it, and realized-- when Remy moved in to serious mode-- that she had just implied he'd done a poor job of ... well... his job. She grew a bit flustered at the idea that she'd done so, and thus her eyes went side to side, before she nodded. "Uh, yeah, right. It was yesterday around 4 pm, I think. He came in just by where the horses run free along the fence line. In fact, I think the neighbor's horse, the one we have been watching, helped him get over the fence and in to the yard somehow. But I only caught the tail end of it..."

She trails off for a second, before speaking up once more. "Colin, was his name. I think he said his last name, but I can't recall what it was... He was a dopey kid, about my height. Said his friends kicked him out of their vehicle after a fight. I had trouble understanding him fully, as he was a bit of a speed talker... I'm sure it is on the cameras, I even warned him that we were probably being watched..."

She pauses then, and eyes Remy's face. "I didn't mean to say you did anything wrong. I think he just slipped over a gap in the fence. Maybe he's a Mutant too..."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy looks over at Rhona as she gives the description, and time and types all that into the phone, maybe to try and pull up the video for that particular timeframe. He looks over, brow arched slightly and shakes his head, "Non, chere. Not your fault. If there are gaps, then I need to know about them. Even more that you were assaulted. If that is the case then I didn't do my job at all."

He pulls up the video log in question and sees if it shows anything around the time and place she mentions. "You didn't get hurt at all did you? If you got hurt by this kid, I swear..."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona, seated straight up on her chair, watches him with an intensity. She shakes her head at his question of her condition. "No, he didn't hurt me. I probably hurt him, in fact. I warned him that I knew ji-jitsu, right before he came in. Really, the impression I got was that he was some high school kid, trying to find a girl who'd induldge him in a make-out session. He didn't... seem like a threat, but then again, he certainly wasn't polite. I mean, who tries to just kiss a girl you've never met before?"

She sighs softly, and stands up. "Come on. I'll show you where I first saw him." She states, moving toward the backdoor, letting her water bottle swing at her side as she places a hand upon the brass handle, eyeing Remy to see if he'll follow her.

"I'm eager to help you solve this too, I want you to... not stress over this stuff. This place is nuts, and for all we know, some of the other kids broke some of the fence that allowed him inside. These guys are always breaking things around here," she tells him, still a bit sweaty from her run, but ready to head back out in to the heat.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy stands, patting his pockets to make sure he has everything he should from his phone down to a pack of card for any emergency poker games he might run into in the yard.

"Ok, chere. Lead on. We need to plug whatever hole this guy managed to make his way into without setting off warning bells."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona lead the way back out of the kitchen, down the stairs to the pathways that curved around the house, and motioned toward the edge of the horse fields southern corner. 'it was right there," she announced toward him, still carrying that bottle of water, that she took another swig from before twisting the cap back in place.

She showed him a soft smirk, and glanced back toward the house, her skin still glistening with a bit of sweat from her jog around the lake.

"I ordered him an Uber, and sent him on his way." She explains to the Cajun, shaking her head from side to side. "I strongly doubt he returns again. But, around here... strange things just, literally, fall out of the trees."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
When led out to the spot, Remy takes a look around and checks the fences, the alarms, and the cameras to make sure everything is in good working order and hasn't been tampered with.
Finally he stands there with a perplexed look on his face and puts his hands onto his hips. "I don't see how he got in. Fence is fine, no breaks. He should have tripped something coming over the wall? You say he just climbed over?"

Rhona Lauren has posed:
The young woman walks across the grass toward the wall's edge, where she runs her eyes over it. Her sunglasses are moved to the top of her forehead, and she leans in a bit to stare up at the top of the stone fence, then over to where it meets the horse field fence line. "All I know is that the neighbors's horse, Agamemnon, was right here at the corner, sort of riled up. It looked like the boy had used the horse to perhaps pull him over the fence... I'm really not sure." The briton states, with dismay on her voice. She regards Remy, and stares at him for a moment. "Some investigative journalist I am, huh?" She asks with a soft smirk.

She walks across the edge of the yard, her shoes crunching on the sun drenched grass, as she steps up to the horse fence, reaching out a free hand to push at the wood and wire, her back to the Cajun. "Yep. It's sturdy." She says, laughing softly. "I think I've wasted your time now too." She states, looking over her shoulder at him with a smile.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Never a waste of my time, chere," Remy says with a chuckle as he glances at the wall one more time just to see if he missed anything the first time. "I just wish I had some answers instead of more questions."

He shrugs and finally tears his eyes away from the wall and looks to Rhona, "So, how have you been? I haven't seen you since the movie. Everything going well with you?"

Rhona Lauren has posed:
As Remy responded to her, Rhona continued to fuss with the fence to the horse fields. She glanced back at him, her pony tail swaying behind her shoulders, as she showed him another smile. "I've been mostly in Manhattan for my internship at the news station." She explains, fidgeting for a second as her water bottle dripped a bit of condensation down on to the ground beside her sneakered right foot. She was soon to crouch down to set the bottle in that same general spot, before she began to do that thing she does, and gets curious.

"I wonder what is on the other side..." The brunette says, as Remy will see her hoisting herself up on to the fence, her butt pushed out behind her as she works her way up the side of the woodwork, planting her sneakers upon the wire and wooden slats.

It looks precarious at best, as she makes her way up to a balanced standing positio, her arms out to either sides.

"I should probably just use my discs to get over the wall, but I don't want to trip any of the security alarms on your little phone app there.." She says, now performing a balance beam to get to the taller stone wall. "Which, I'm probably about to do anyway..." She states, voice filled with concentration as her hands reach out for the vine covered stone wall.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Ah, how is that going? The internship? Learning how to tackle those hard hitting questions?"

Remy says with a chuckle. He put his phone away after turning it off, turning his gaze back to Rhona just in time to see her butt pushed out at him just about eye level. He probably stares a second or two longer than appropriate before turning his face away and clearing his throat.

"Don't worry about the alarm, I only have it set to deathray. If you trip it, it won't hurt more than a second...if that." He winks with a grin. "It's just the neighbors place. Careful, don't fall."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
It was a second after Remy told her not to fall, that the girl's arms wobbled too much, and her balance gave out. She was about to fall right at him, but the sudden THWOMP of energy, and a girlish yelped, summoned the presence of one of her growling energy discs. It put itself up right between the two of them, preventing him from being a hero and saving the falling damsel. Being that her shields had some kind of gravity independent of earth's own, she manages to use it to hold herself up.

"God. This was a dumb idea." She says, before she reaches the wall proper, and hoists herself up on to it.

Her hand moves out, re-absorbing her shield disc back within her glowing fingers, and with a heavy sigh, her butt is now firmly planted upon the stone wall, up a good ways off the ground.

She pushes her hair aside, and leans over the wall.

"I think my boss is a drunk, and has a weird fascination with turtles." Rhona says absent mindedly, as she searches around in the vines. "But, I like it, overall. I mean, they're all VERY fake people at the station, but that is to be expected, right? And, well, they're all very horny weirdos too..."

She leans over the wall, moving aside some branches, before she makes a noise. She moves quick, and draws something up. "Look it." She tells him, tossing him a pair of binoculars, with a 'Owned by Doctor Deadpool.' sticker on the side, featuring a unicorn running over a rainbow.

"I think I know who did this now." She tells the handsome Cajun with a small smirk.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Hold on a sec, chere."

Remy takes a couple of steps back, then runs forward to plant his foot on the wall, pushing off to plant the other and in a fit of raw dexterity runs up the side of the wall to end up perched next to Rhona. He doesn't waver or seem to have any problem with the balance, it looks like for him this is as easy as standing on flat ground. He reaches out for the binoculars, groaning as he sees the sticker.

"Nah. Even Wade...yeah...yeah he is."

He sighs and looks over to the building across from the wall, then back to the binoculars. Then he looks the other way and nods.

"Yup. Birdwatching."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
The display of the hparkour skills has Rhona's brown eyes opening up wide, as she watches the nimble man vault his way right up to sitting beside her. She just stares at him like that, looking shocked, but also glancing toward the school again. "I'm starting to see more reasons as to why you're with the school security now," she comments to him in her sassy British style. As he examines the binoculars, she leans over the wall once more, pushing aside more bits of leaves, and debris strewn across the stone wall, before she begins pulling up a knotted-up length of old rope. "I mean, really... Why is that man even tolerated around here?" She asks, as she gathers up a few feet of it, before draping it over the wall between them.

She glances toward the house, then back to Remy. "I actually caught him spying on the place from a tree branch, but that was like...?" she tilts her head in thought, "Eight months ago?"

When her eyes focus on Remy again, she motions to the branch she'd seen the Merc with the Mouth laying upon. "He was up there, all sprawled out, spying on the place... I fired an arrow at him, because he was armed. I wasn't aiming for him though. I put it in the branch. It made him flail like a confused squirrel, and he just dropped out of the tree. It was all rather strange, but amusing too." She stated, smirking toward Remy as she watched him closely, as she was prone to do with the man she clearly had a crush on.

"Are you going to keep those? They look a bit worse for wear..."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"The binoculars? Nah. I have no use for them. Why did you want them?" Remy offers them back over toward Rhona with a smile.

"As for Wade, I don't know. He's like a bad penny. You should have hit him. It wouldn't have stopped him, but it might have made you feel better."

Remy smirks and pulls a playing card from his pocket, using his power to charge it up and then uses the edge to slice the rope like it was butter. He looks over at Rhona and offers her the rope, "Maybe you can tie him down with this. He'd probably get a kick out of it." He winks to Rhona with a grin as he tosses the charged card toward the overhanging branch to give is some kind of explosive arborist treatment.

"At least he won't be using that branch again."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
When he hands the binoculars back to her, Rhona does accept them. But having a better view of them from their brushed-off state, she does display a light frown. "They're a bit filthy. I can see if someone would clean them up, I guess..." She quietly says, as she turns them over in her hand, then sets them upon her lap.

With the display of the playing card, charged and cutting the rope, the young woman smiles at this. She raises her eyes up to his, and accepts the rope length, a few knots tied off in its frayed form. "Kinky." She says in a further sassy style, even a bit sultry, for a 20 year old who may not be overly great at being sultry.

"Yeah, I don't know. Anyone who wears a costume like his, creeps me out more than a random stray boy who vaults a wall, and tries to plant a kiss on me."

Her eyes scan over the yard, before she regards the Cajun again. She stares at him for a second, with a look of suggesting she had more on her mind, but after a pregnant pause, she turns her head away again. "But yeah, whatever sensors were mounted here, I imagine he must have stolen, or just disposed of..."

She draws in a breath, slapping the rope in her opposite hand a few times.

"I guess I should get back to the house, I was supposed to meet the roommate for a get together in town tonight..." She regards Remy again, showing him a small grin. "you're welcome to come, but I imagine a bunch of 19 and 20 year olds would be a bore for you."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"There's a reason he wears a suit like that, chere. Just be glad he keeps it on." Remy says with a bit of a smirk as he stands up on the wall. He pulls out his phone and takes a couple of photos of the area, and the missing sensors so he knows where to replace them and nods.

He grins over at Rhona with a chuckle, "You want to be using it for that, chere, I'd get a new one. Who knows where that rope has been." He winks at the co-ed and takes one last look around before looking at her, waiting for whatever it is she is going to say. He shrugs slightly when she turns away, "I'll get them replaced. Not that it will stop him from doing it again. Hold on, I'll help you down."

Remy just backflips off the wall, landing on his feet below without a stumble. Olympic level gymnasts be damned. He holds out his arms, "You just want to jump, or want me to just help you down, chere?"

Rhona Lauren has posed:
The talk of the mysteries that lie beneath Wade's costume, causes Rhona to simply smirk, and gently nod her head a few times. "probably so..." She quietly states, before she ties the length of severed rope off around the dirty binoculars, then loops them around her elbow. She looks up just in time to see Remy thrust himself off the wall, perform a perfect backflip, only to land gracefully upon his legs.

Once more, her eyes are widened at the display. "Oh come on," she has to say, utterly exasperated by the sheer skill behind that. "Where even are you truly from?" She asks, emphasizing her words to express her utmost flabbergasted feelings on what she just bared witness to.

She shakes her head, as she scoots her butt across the top of the wall to line up with him better. "I'll drop. It's not too far." She states, slipping down on the edge, preparing herself, before she pushes off with the palms of her hands, and makes the descent with a little woosh of air, hoping he catches her enough to keep her balanced upon touching down!

With her shirt ridden up a bit, and her shorts a bit askew from the general misuse of her jogging clothing for that which they'd just investigated, Rhona sorts herself out a bit, while smiling up at him .

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"New Orleans," Remy replies with a grin. "I think we've been over that before, chere."

He nods as she says she will drop down, but he stands there regardless, ready to help out just in case, and indeed does help her when she lands so she doesn't fall over. He turns his head gentlemanly away when she fixes herself, trying not to be the creepy older guy watching the young female fix her clothing, "I'll make sure that people on this side of the building make sure to keep their blinds closed, just in case."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
With a pinch and tug here, a turn and shimmy there, the Briton has her britches and top back in place, proper and sound like a lady should! She clears her throat a bit, before she shifts her gaze toward the school. "Isn't that Logan's windows?" She asks, motioning toward the side of the garage, with the second story view visible, up where the Wolverine roosts, or rests. "If the Deadpool character was spying on Logan, I have many more questions." She states, smirking back toward Remy.

She walks back to the fence for the horse fields, where she crouches to gather up her sunglasses, and bottle of water, before standing straight once more. She takes a sip from the bottle, before she steps back to him, to offer him a drink from it should he wish as well.

"Well, we figured something out, at least. Better defenses by the horse field." She states, grinning softly.

"hey, if you'd like, they're playing some of those Mission Impossible movies at the drive-in. I don't know if you've seen them, but they're like... older than I am. Though I'm more familiar with the more recent ones, but yeah, if you'd like... another movie night, I'd be up for the company."

She's working her moves on the Cajun again, look out!

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy looks up to Logan's window and arches a brow. "If it is, I'm not telling him. That is just something I do not want to get involved in, chere." He laughs, shaking his head and turning to look back to Rhona once she clears her throat.

"Yeah. I 'll make a not, get some extra security over here. If we have people popping over the wall or spying from the trees we need to make some adjustments to the parameter."

He looks over when Rhona invites him out for another movie and he smiles, "I think I've seen one or two of the older ones, oui. Aren't they on like nine now? I stopped counting. When would you like to go?" He flashes her that smile of his before shoving his hands into his pockets and looking back towards the school. "I'll assume after you take a shower at least, so not right now."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona begins to walk with him back toward the cobblestone pathways that lead back toward the house. She smiles at what he says in return to her, as she shakes her head from side to side. "I think they're just on seven? But maybe I'm too young to remember the earliest ones at all." She says with a cheeky undertone to her words.

When he asks her about the intentions of the whens and hows, she glances down at herself, spotting bits of leaves and twigs upon her jogging attire. With a few carefully placed strokes of fingers and palms across her clothing, the Brit dusts herself off. "I look dreadful." She confirms, as she exhales. Her eyes shoot back up, and over to him. "But yes, I should get cleaned up. We don't have to do it tonight, either, if you're too busy... I think I've just been getting a bit of the summer cabin fever, if that is even a thing." She grins a half-grin toward him, before swaying her shoulders side to side, in a coy display of silliness. "Plus, I just enjoy your commentary on films, and having another chance to hear more? Seems like a good idea to me."

When they reach the garage pathway, the door inside is already ajar, which is rather normal in a place filled with dozens of children.

"But yeah, tonight or tomorrow? Whatever you'd like most, Monsieur..."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Oh, trust me, I get it. Being couped up inside gets me antsy to." Remy says with a smile. "It's most certainly a thing."

He glances to the door to the inside, then back to Rhona, "I'm free tonight, so if that's when you want to do it, we can do it. Just give me a call. You have my number, right?"

He pulls his phone out of the front pocket of his jeans and opens up the display. He passes over the phone where it shows his info card and the number. The background is a photo of Rogue back in one of their happier moments in time, looking younger and less weighted down by the world.

"Do I buy the snacks this time? What you want to snack on?"
