Profile
Rhona is a recently arrived new student at Xaviers School for Gifted youngsters. She's from the London area of Britain, and is a bit of an introvert. She comes from wealthy lineage, but tries hard not to let that show through. She didn't have a terrible upbringing, by any means, but has had enough negative experiences to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. She considers her mutation to be both terrifying, and extgremely exciting to explore the ins and outs of here in the United States.
Timeline
Timeline:
Jun 2005: Rhona is born to Thomas and Gabrielle Lauren in Surrey, England. They are a well-to-do socialite family, and Rhona has one older brother who is 8 years old by the time Rhona is born.
2010: Rhona is 10 years old, her brother 18, and she's come to learn that her brother is the preferred child in their family. She is treated well, but she is often pushed aside for the showcasing of her brother Charles. She comes to accept this as just part of her life.
2018: At age 13, Rhona is distraught to find out that her brother had been killed in a robbery attempt by Mutants. He'd tried to do the right thing, and help stop the robbery, and they murdered him for interfering. It is also later this year that Rhona lashes out during a large party at their family home in Surrey. Her mutation makes its first appearance, when she shields herself with her first Disc Shield from being splashed with a drink by a older girl who didn't like a snappy come-back insult that Rhona said to her. Rhona's parents are horrified to see that their daughter is a mutant, and soon there-after send her away to a pristigious boarding school in London.
2019: Rhona starts to see that mutants are treated exceptionally poorly at this school, and in the world at-large. She begins to act-out, to help protect other mutants she's discovered at the school, and in the city.
2021: Rhona is kicked out of the boarding school for being a 'trouble maker' when she stops teachers from treating other mutants poorly. She uses one of her Disc Shields to keep a teacher from striking another student, and its declared assault upon that teacher.
2022: Rhona is sent to the United States, after her parents discovered Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Mostly it is to get their daughter away from the socialite lifestyle, and the perception of dragging their family name 'through the mud'. Rhona knows it is based some in that, and also to just get rid of the child they still have, and have never loved as much as their deceased son Charles.
2022: Rhona arrives at Xaviers School in Westchester, NY. Her 'Disc Shields' are becoming more explored, and she's learning what the extent of them are, and maybe more than she even knew she was capable of...

Personality
Brave:
Rhona has learned to be brave by way of spending so much time on her own. Self reliance has become a part of her persona. There was once in the forest behind her parents home, that she was confronted by a lone wolf. Rhona stood her ground, and brandished a wooden sword toy she had. The wolf backed down and ran off in to the woods, and that situation bolstered the young girl to stand up to something that is quite a bit of a startling threat.
Introverted:
Ultimately Rhona has spent a lot of time alone growing up. Her family home was large, and their property was exstensive. Rhona used to wander the forests outside her family home, armed with some toy weapons, or later her Archery equipment. She had built 'posts' up around her home property where she could travel between them, and pretend that she was an Elven Huntress, with her boyfriend Legolas-- look, she was a huge Lord of the Rings nerd growing up, don't tell anyone!
Kind:
Rhona has developed a deep rooted kindness toward people who deserve it. She isn't necessarily aware of it either, but it stems from her desire to have kinder parents. She wants to be nicer to the world, than she's witnessed from what should be her best role models. Part of this comes from her brother Charles, who was exceptionally kind to her, and everyone else around him.

Powers
Shield Discs:
Rhona's mutation took form at a party at her parents home in Surrey, England. A fight broke out, and Rhona raised her right hand up to shield herself from a drink being thrown at her, and her shield Disc appeared in a swirling haze of purple-pink light! The drink collided with the energy disc, and harmlessly splashed back at the girl who threw it at Rhona. The fight stopped after that, and people were stunned to see the energy disc attached to Rhona's fingertips... Rhona being the most surprised. After a bit of alarm, the disc was reabsorbed in to Rhona's hand, and she ran off. Her parents watched this display, and knew from that moment on that their daughter was a mutant, just like the ones who had killed their elder child, Charles Lauren.
Shield Discs:
-- Rhona is capable of creating a round disc at the end of either of her hands. They are bright pink-purple energy and she can wave them around as they are nearly just as completely tall as she is. She has tested them some with friends from London, and discovered that they are very resilient... though she doesn't know just how strong they actually are.
-- Charles Xavier in the United States has helped Rhona, since arriving, to learn that her discs are capable of stopping almost anything, of kinetic energy. She can now 'place' discs around her and they stay motionless in the air until they fade after one hour of being independent of her body. She can place four Shield Discs around herself at any tim.
-- Rhona is learning that the energy comes from her fingertips, and thusly she can manipulate the size of the discs too. This is what Charles Xavier has her working on now. Creating 'smaller' discs.
-- Charles has told Rhona that he believes she can manipulate the energy once she has produced it, and may even be able to some day 'shoot' smaller discs like a machine gun from her palms... though Rhona is still just embarking on such experiments.
-- Right now, she is working on exploring her mutation, and doing things like making staircases out of the Shield Discs, to walk up or down.
Limits:
-- The Shield Discs will break against kinetic forces that are greater than the force of 50 tons of weight.
-- The Shield Discs can be dispelled with energy absorbing technology or magic.
-- The Shield Discs do not prevent telepaths from 'reading minds' through them.
-- The shield discs can be destroyed with an EMP weapon discharge.
Rhona hopes to develop her mutation over time, and learn new features, and functions that she might use her discs for.
Skills
Archery:
Rhona was put in to Archery early when she was young. Her parents wanted her to try and compete in the Olympics,m but the young girl never really had her heart in it that much. She does love Archery, and enjoys it as a way to unwind, but it's just a side hobby to her. She is very capable, even if she never made the Olympic team. 'It's just for fun.' She'd tell her parents much to their chagrin.
Driving:
Rhona has been driving for a little while now, and while living in London she got a part time job as a Pizza Delivery Girl. She enjoyed getting out and putting rubber to the pavement, even driving a little dangerously at times for the fun of it. Her parents hired a professional stunt driver to teach her how to drive, in her early teens, so that they wouldn't have to be 'bothered' to do it themselves. This is where Rhona learned how to drive well enough that she has considered quite heavily to try and get in to the stunt driver field for movies, in Hollywood.
Equestrian:
Rhona grew up with horses on her parents' property in Surrey. She loves horses, and finds a great deal of kinship in them as she enjoys their quiet caring demeanors. She is a good rider, and enjoys getting a horse to full speed, to feel like she's flying away.
Piano:
Another of Rhona's past times that her parents made sure she'd do , is to give her lessons in an instrument. Rhona wanted to play the guitar, but her parents deamed the piano to be more fitting for a girl of her standing. She reluctantly went along, and started playing the piano at a early age. She did eventually learn to enjoy it as a way to sink her mind in to another place.
Track and Field:
Rhona is a runner, and competed in some basic school track and field games. She won a couple of her matches, and enjoys the feel of running at her highest ability. From driving, to riding horses, to running on her own two feet, Rhona has a bit of a speed addiction...
Resources
Parents:
Rhona's parents are wealthy socialites living off of family money that has been in their lineage for ages. Her parents send her money every month to help her 'get by' in the United States, but she believes that they think if she is happy in the US, that she'll never come home again. Either way, Rhona gets a healthy stipend from her parents to give her spending money to do as she desires in the States.
Wheels:
Rhona's parents bought her a car to use in the United States. IT's a Tesla Model S, and it's a bit fancier than Rhona knows what to do with, but she just believes her parents want her to enjoy life in the States so much that she'll never want to go back to the UK again.
Weaknesses
Bad Parents:
Having parents that clearely didn't love you as much as they loved your sibling, has left an impact upon Rhona. She knew that Charles was the prefered child of the family, and she'd mostly just accepted it. But after his passing, things got even worse for her with her parents. They made it clear they didn't want her around, and have shown it further by shipping her off to the United States to 'get rid of her' from their social obligations.
Introvert:
Rhona enjoys being alone. She enjoys being in her room, or a 'safe place' that she might fall inward in to her own thoughts. She enjoys being a loner, and watching things from afar. She could easily spend weeks by herself, and not even feel remorseful about it. At parties, she prefers to venture to the sidelines, or to get away from the crowds as much as she can. This is a weakness when it comes to garnering social skills, and acquiring new friends, and connections.
Loneliness:
Rhona has lived a life of mostly isolation. She didn't have friends until she was sent away to London in her mid teens. Now, with her brother gone, she is alone in the United States, and feeling it. It will cause her to sink in on herself, and perhaps even hide in her dorm room at Xaviers.
Mourning:
Rhona is still mourning the loss of her brother Charles. She was her best friend growing up, and his death came suddenly, and has left her scarred... and scared, to be a Mutant herself now, since her brother was murdered by Mutants attempting a robbery that Charles stepped in to try and stop.
