Is it Top Gun time
Date of Scene: 15 May 2022
Location: Brighton Beach
Synopsis: Matt and Daisy go to Brighton Beach for some well-deserved rest. There's a shark in the water.
Cast of Characters: Daisy Johnson, Matthew Murdock

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The sun is bright and up in the sky. The house is hot as hell. And the stars have aligned in which Daisy and Matt have an actual day off on the actual same day! And would Daisy let them spend the day at home? While it *may* be tempting to do so and chill, (Netflix and Chill?) she decided that they were going out. To the beach of all places!

And she drives of course.

She parks the car close to the beach front, stepping out and closing her eyes to fill the heat in her face, "I always get the best ideas.." she not-so-humble brags.

She is dressed in a pair of jean shorts that don't even reach her knees, a white top and hair up on a ponytail. Sandals on her feet of course and she grins over to Matt, "I can't wait to get into the water." she admits. She loves swimming after all. And now she has training to actually be able to be good at it!

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The car door swings shut as Matt steps out and unfolds his cane. He pulls a bag of their belongings over one shoulder, and has a cooler in hand. "You do," he agrees in his deep, quiet rasp of a voice.

Matt's wearing a tank top, bathing suit and sandals. Of course he has his dark glasses on, though without the cane they would be passing for dark sunglasses. He looks like he could use a bit of sun, not having much of a tan built up at all. Most of his outdoor time is spent at night, or while wearing a suit in transit, and using the subway more often than not. Not a lot of time for tanning.

Matt moves around the front of the car, tapping with his cane for appearances, and waits for Daisy to come take his arm so she can help guide him as people would expect. "Sounds like a fair-sized crowd," he says, hearing the voices of people talking, kids playing, people boogie boarding, others playing music, and a few sand volleyball games going on.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
\"I hope you pressed Foggy to *not* work today either. But knowing him ..." Daisy lets out a soft sigh and shakes her head a touch. Who is she kidding? He might just be in the office now... "We can bring him some sweets when we go back?" she suggests, arm wrapping around Matt's and she beginning to lead them to the beach. There's a lot of activity indeed. Laughter, some people running here and there. Fun inside the water. Perfect day for lazying!

"Oh no, cover my eyes quick.. There's a few hunkies playing volleyball over there.." She teases Matt. Yet perceiving her form it will be felt that she's actually looking up at Matt as they walk down to the hot sands. She leads them to a nice spot and gets the sands off before beginning to work on her top and shorts so she goes down to her dark-blue bikini.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt's lips pull back in a bit of a wry smile. "He probably is. And it'll be partly my fault if so. Took a case for Luke, someone he knows is having landlord problems. Met him for lunch yesterday and looked over the contract. It has some unenforceable provisions. We're filing to buy her time and stave off eviction, but I think we have a good standing for forcing the landlord to not only let her continue to stay there, but fix some of the issues with the building," Matt says to Daisy as they walk across the sand to the spot she's picked out.

Matt gets a blanket from the bag and spreads it. The sound of Daisy disrobing down to his bikini causes a soft sigh from Matt. "See, now is a moment I envy other people," he says with a teasing smile.

He removes his tank top as he says, "The other half of why Foggy might be at work... I think he's still hitting on Karen. So a reason to spend a little more time with her..." Matt says, trailing off with that thought. "So, water first?" he asks as he removes his sandals.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"That's obvious enough." Daisy says about Foggy hitting on Karen. She has that sixth sense for finding pairings on her friends apparently! Karen and Foggy. Fitz and Simmons... All the pairings. "He might need a little push to actually do more than just hang around her though..." is that a hint?

With the clothings finally out and she down to her bikini she grins wide at Matt's comment, "You see me better than anyone else, Matt.." which is true! Feeling of her fingertips is felt brushing on the man's cheek before she considers their choices.

"Water it is." She agrees, "And yea, sounds look good work you are doing for Luke. If you need someone to hack into this landlord's files to catch the dirt let me know, mmm?" Daisy! You were supposed to be a reputable SHIELD Agent now! Not a hacker!

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"I have a feeling she's the one who would need the push," Matt comments about Karen Page. "I don't know if she's quite decided what her feelings are, or whether getting involved with someone at work is a good idea," he says. Matt doesn't mention the possibility of whether Foggy is the partner that she'd want to date if she were going to, might also be playing a role. But then he's avoided giving her any reason to think he's interested, certainly since Daisy came back into his life.

Matt gives a warm chuckle as he makes sure their bag is on the blanket to keep it from blowing away, and then puts his cane there to join it, before reaching out to take Daisy's elbow to let her lead the way. "Miss Johnson, I'm not sure that would be legal," he says formally, lips quirking as he tries to suppress his smile. "How big are the waves today?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:

"Ah ..." Daisy says in understanding about the comment on getting involved with people at work. She was well aware on how catastrophically bad such a thing could go! Till Matthew she couldn't say she had ever had a relationship she could call stable. "Well, she will have to decide sooner or later." she states with a small shake of her head. "Being wishy-washy about it won't help either of them."

"That's why I have a lawyer to get me out of trouble when I do illegalities." Is Daisy's reply in the same teasing manner before she lets out a soft laugh. "I mean, IF I do illegalities."

"A bit big.." She then says, feet reaching the water. There's always that shock of the contrast on the water's temperature to the hot air that's felt today, she letting out a quiet shudder, "Well, the water is cold too. But nothing a dive won't help.."

And a moment later she is running ahead and taking a dive under a wave. Because there's no wishy-washy about Daisy! She comes back up to the surface and walks back to rejoin Matt to bring him further in even as she sprinkles some droplets of water his way. So evil. "You should dive, it's great after you get past all the thousand needles poking at your body!"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Feels much better when the sand is wet," he comments to her as they reach the water's edge. Which is not statement that would make anyone wonder, though Daisy might be able to envision how walking on the grains of sands barefoot feels for Matt.

He smiles as he hears her splash off and dive in. "Alright, just warn me if there are sharks," he says.

"Sharks!? Are there sharks!?" a little kid calls, who was nearby enough to overhear.

Matt winces. "Not very likely," he tells the kid, before moving deeper into the water and diving beneath it. He comes back up, wiping the water from his face and brushing his wet hair back. "A little cool, but still nice on the sunny day," he agrees with Daisy as he moves back towards her.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Matt saying there might be sharks gets an amused laugh out of Daisy which only turns more amused as the kid overhears it. She eventually calms down and leans closer to Matt, "I see a shark right here.." is she making a joke about lawyers being sharks? She might just be... Its followed by a teasing elbow against Matt's side and then she is out and swimming, her form felt against the waves as she takes some broad strokes around.

"Come on. Follow my voice." She tells him, "Come get me." she then adds with a teasing tone.

Hands brush over her dark hair as she keeps herself just above water now in an area without being able to put her feet down without going underwater.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The water is a little different than the environment that Matt is used to. Hearing the splashing and Daisy's breathing is more than enough to help guide him. Though at one point, he ducks under the water.

The sounds are so different here. People's voices audible but distorted. A distant speed boat out past the swimming area for the beach, the motor quite loud to Matt's ears. Other sounds. Fish? Most likely, though he doesn't have enough experience with them to identify what kind.

Matt swims over underwater, grasping one of Daisy's legs and giving it a little tug. Then a second. He uses his fingers to clamp down on her leg like the digits were shark's teeth, before kicking with his feet to propel himself back to the surface.

"This was a great idea," he tells her. He reaches a foot down, finding he can touch while the shorter Daisy cannot. Matt slides his arms around her waist, supporting her as he draws her over to him where he can lean his forehead against hers. "Do you know when the last time I went to the beach was before this? I must have been in college at least," he says.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's a relaxing time for Daisy, she feeling the gentle vibrations all around, the slow waves a balm to her senses... All until a certain SHARK comes over and 'bites' on her leg. She lets out a brief yelp, going briefly underwater before kicking herself back up to the surface again. "Careful. My tickles are deadly.." she warns him.

They are! Really!

Feeling those arms around her she leans forward, body felt pressed against his and her arms wrapping loosely about his neck, "That only means we need to start coming over more often.." she murmurs, forehead remaining against Matt's as they just stay there against one another now, her whole body relaxed against his, letting him take her in fully with his senses.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
A happy sigh as given as Daisy melds against him, relaxing in Matt's arms. He nuzzles his lips and nose against her temple and cheek. Inhaling her scent that the salt water can only do so much to try to hide from him. Enjoying the feeling of her fit, lithe body held close in his arms.

"You make a convincing argument," he tells her with a smile. Matt keeps one arm about Daisy's slender waist, the other hand reaching up to brush her wet hair back behind her ear. "I was missing out on a lot of life before you came back into mine, you know that?" he asks her quietly. "I've spent so much time fighting for others. But you really bring it home what it is I'm fighting for," he tells her.

Matt brushes a short kiss to her lips. Keeping it short as the kid who is watching out for sharks is probably watching them still. No need to over-PDA the kid.
