Mika Yang has posed:
Well, its fairly late, and Mika has returned from a shift as an EMT. She groans as she walks into her apartment, and starts getting out some wagyu beef. She grinds it up, and fries it. The woman gets out some soft taco shells out, and puts the meat on there with some cheese and sour cream before she walks up to the roof. The woman sets the plate down while getting out some sparkling water, and puts it next to the plate. The woman looks around the roof a little bit, and stretches a little bit.

Mika heads over to a small chest, and opens it up, and takes out several weapons in there. Her chain, butterfly dagger set, and a pair of Tonfas that have small slits in there. She starts with the tonfas, practicing with these weapons with a nice practice form from years of training with them. She smiles a little bit as she steps back, putting a tonfa in her armpit, and CHOMPS one of the tacos.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress stood in the shadows atop an adjacent apartment building watching and waiting. She studied Mika curiously. The meal brought up made sense. It wasn't a bad night as far as Gotham nights went, so why not enjoy a bit of al fresco dining? It was the pause to get weapons out that gave the dark haired vigilante reason to pause. She watched a moment then set into motion.

Landing silently on the same rooftop as Mika, some thirty feet away, Huntress began to walk toward the other woman but spoke up to announce her presence before it caused alarm. Or a tonfa being thrown her direction.

"Mixing business and pleasure? Seems like a recipe for indigestion" she offers with a bit of amusement. "Hello again Mika."

Mika Yang has posed:
Mika takes a second to look over at Helena a moment. "Miss Huntress.", she says. The woman bows a bit before putting the taco down for a second. "Which is the business, and which is the pleasure?", she asks. THe woman offers a small smile, and offers a taco to Huntress. Mika is a very good cook. Her grandmother didn't exactly like the who servent thing.

The woman offers a small smile as she opens the water. "I can go down, and get some more if you like it.", she offers. Mika silently places the tonfas down, though the chain does stay wrapped up around her bicep. Helena knows that Mika can easily get that weapon up to speed if she needs to.

"May I ask the intent of the visit?", she quietly asks.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress shrugged a shoulder, "I suppose that would be open for debate. Usually I consider eating to be more pleasurable than practice. Though there are some times where that is reversed admittedly." She walks closer, her cape fluttering about her form.

She holds her hand out to stop the other woman, offering a smile, "Thank you, but no. I didn't come to speak with you only to impose on your hospitality." She slows when she is within two meters of Mika.

"Well. The intent of this visit was to talk to you." She smiles. "Obviously finding your home wasn't difficult since we had your name." 'We' presumedly meaning she and Batgirl.

"I want to be clear, this is a visit as a friend. An ally. Not out of any ill intent. You're most certainly not in trouble." A half smile.

"I talked with Batgirl after you and I crossed paths in Robinson Park." She pauses, leaving the comment hang in the air without immediate clarification.

Mika Yang has posed:
Mika nods her head a little bit. She does keep her hand away from the hidden catch on the chain, while taking a sip of her water. She puts it down, and grabs another taco, eating it fairly quickly. She's learned that eating a rarity at times, and good food should not be allowed to go cold. Mika takes a deep breath as she listens in.

She moves over, and gets a pair of chairs out, and offers one to Miss Helena. She sits down herself as she prepares for the news. The woman takes a deep breath as she waits. She nods her head a little to indicate that she's listening.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress nods and moves over to take the offered seat. "Thank you." She swishes her cape out over the back of the chair before settling into it.

"We both like what we've seen of your abilities. Batgirl wouldn't have given you her batarang honestly if she did't think there was a good chance you'd stay on our radar." Of course the fact the batarang has a built in tracker which let them keep tabs on where the EMT kept it didn't hurt either.

Looking to Mika, the dark haired vigilatne smiles, "Hopefully it doesn't unsettle you too badly to know that we did a thorough background check on you. We always try to vet someone before approaching them. It's better for everyone that way."

Another pause, "I'm here to tell you that there is a team of vigilantes and heroines in Gotham and New York City that work together. We're the Birds of Prey. And we would like to offer you an invitation to join the team on a probationary basis. Your skills would be a great addition to the team and we would like to work more closely with you and you with us. We'd like to get a sense for how you'll work with the team and let you see if it is something you'd want to do long term."

With a causal gesture she explains, "There are no catches. No hidden motives. Well. Other than the fact you're an EMT who could assist anyone on the team with a measure of discretion that is difficult to develop in most cases" her tone amused as her dark eyes regard the other woman.

"Is this something that would interest you?"

Mika Yang has posed:
Mika laughs a little bit as she stretches in her chair. "I mean, it would be rather comical if you didn't do a background check. Then again with how public I am overseas, it probably did not take a lot of effort.", she says. The woman does have a fair bit of history, and most of it is public. She takes a deep breath as she finishes her last taco. "I'm also a fairly good cook.", she winks. The woman puts on her serious face though.

"I'm interested. The bigger question is how to hide my identity. I don't exactly have a costume.", she tells. Mika offers a small smile as she sips her water. The woman puts the bottle to the side for a second as she leans forward a little bit, watching Helena.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress shakes her head, "This wasn't the sort of background check you'd have before purchasing a firearm. Or even to work for the NSA." She half smirks, "Take what you imagine for an NSA background check and triple it. We have.. a friend.. who is beyond thorough. Given what the stakes are for the members of the team, we can't afford to have a loose cannon or a sociopath join the team." Just don't ask about Harley Quinn or Pamela Isley.

A nod. "Interest is the first part. And given your public personality and recognition, you can see what is at risk for everyone on the team. most of us have public lives, loved ones we would place in direct danger if it were known who we are." A shrug, "We can design armor for you that fits your fighting style and keeps your identity concealed as well."

Mika Yang has posed:
Mika nods her head a little bit as she listens in. She figured that there would be a lot of background checking. The woman nods her head a little bit as she listens. "That would be interesting. How do you design armor for one such as I?", she asks. The woman shakes her head. "Nevermind, you have resources that I know nothing about as of yet.", she points out. The woman stretches in her chair.

Mika has some thoughts, and questions, but she doesn't ask them. Mostly cause she's being careful. There's a sense of caution from the woman. Years of being in the spotlight has made her careful about trusting others making offers. The more attractive, the more strings. Especailly when they say no strings attached. "It is still rude of me not to offer you something to eat or drink at least. Being a host means attending to the guest.", she says.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress smiles, "A water would be fine, thank you. And if you have questions this is probably the best time to ask. If you change your mind based on my answers, we walk away and you won't have to hear from us again if that's what you decide you want. This isn't a press gang. Everyone joined the team willingly because we believe that together we can make more of a difference than on our own."

Mika Yang has posed:
Mika nods her head a little bit as she gets a water out, and hands it over to Helena. "Do you know why I walked away from acting, as well as being a world level martial artist?", she asks Helena. "Not many know the story behind it, but its cause I learned something important.", she tells. The woman stretches out a little more before she settles down.

"Fighting and pretending are good and all, but when it came down to one of my friends almost dying, I was next to useless.", she tells. The woman takes a deep breath. "Not many know about this, but I became an EMT cause I saw a friend's chest caved in, and if the tech handed of had me pump air into my friend's lung, she would have died of soffication long before she got to a hospital. Do you know what thats like?", she asks. THe woman rubs her arm a little bit. "I have to be more.", she tells.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress shakes her head, "I don't have the details, no. I'm not the keeper of knowledge in the team" she says with a shrug. "I was told you passed checks and was asked to come talk to you."

Taking the water, she listens quietly. A wince crosses her features as the details come out. "I'm sorry, Mika." She looks down, her own demons playing behind her eyes. "We all want to be more. Few, if any of us, are free of scars and demons in our past. Moments or events that led us to try and be better. To make a difference." She looks to Mika, "We're not perfect. It isn't always a walk in the park. There is a lot of bad in Gotham. In the world as a whole. But we do everything we can to be the ones standing between the Bad and the Innocent. We're human. We fail. But we get back up and try to do better, to learn. It's all anyone can do. Being part of this team? I will tell you that it was the best decision I ever made. But it's a personal choice."

A smile is offered, "We'd like to have you join us for a month or two. After that probationary period, we'll talk together. If it is clear we can all work as a team and you want to continue, it can become a long-term arrangement. If it becomes clear that it isn't going to work out then we all part ways and wish each other the best going forward."
