Checkin' the List
Date of Scene: 19 April 2020
Location: New York, NY
Synopsis: Roy and AJ go to the movies to check a few things off of his to-do list -- like sneaking into an R-rated movie, drinking a beer, and maybe having a first date?
Cast of Characters: Roy Harper, AJ Strong

Roy Harper has posed:
So it was decided, and so it shall be. Roy has made it his mission to begin ticking off some of those boxes on AJ's list of things that he has not yet done that a teen of their age definitely ought to do, at least in his opinion which, let's be honest -- Roy is not the best of influences. Poor AJ.

The movie was easy enough. "So, here's what we do. I got us tickets to this movie, which is right in the theatre next to the one we're gonna see. When we go in, we just grab whatever seats are open for the movie we wanted to see. Nobody's going to check. And this theatre doesn't have reserved seats, so unless it's packed -- which it shouldn't be, we'll be fine."

Roy'd already acquired a giant tub of popcorn with extra butter and drinks and a bag of reeses pieces that had been jammed into his jacket pocket.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ takes one of the drinks, sucking on the straw as he looks over at Roy, bobbing his head a few times at the plan. He doesn't look nervous at least, which is a good thing.. no.. he looks eager. Which might be worrisome in its own right. "Sure thing, I'll just, uh, follow your lead I guess. Hope it's a good movie at least." He smirks and takes another sip of his soda, falling in beside Roy as they walk towards the theaters.

Roy Harper has posed:
The key to just walking into places is to just look like you know what you're doing. And Roy doesn't hesitate, doesn't do more than glance at his ticket, glance at the theatre numbers and walks right into the one next to the one they had tickets for. It's not too crowded. There are plenty of empty rows, and so Roy makes his way on over to a seat somewhere nearish the middle of the theatre in one of the middling rows and plunks himself down, taking a sip of his drink.

"It's some sort of spy action flick," Roy says with a shrug of his shoulders. "It's supposed to be pretty good. Just lots of language and violence, I guess," he shrugs. "Like we've never heard language or seen violence." He pops a handful of popcorn into his mouth.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Language and violence? I once hit a purse-snatcher in the head with a tree branch, I learned half my cussing vocabulary from doing that." AJ laughs softly as he settles into his seat, he sinks down a little and props his feet up on the empty chair back in front of him. Yeah, it's tacky but there's no one in the seat so who cares. He reaches over to grab some popcorn. "Spy like.. debonaire swashbuckler seducing all the ladies, or more Hollywood spy where we're supposed to be low key but blow up half of Monaco?"

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper raises his brows and says, "I watched a guy try to play whack a mole with mole people with a telephone pole a couple of weeks ago. It was kinda trippy. I mostly just shot weird little moloids with arrows. They really didn't like that. Pretty sure they flipped me the bird." He shrugs his shoulders when AJ asks him what kind of spy flick it's going to be. "Probably the blow up half of Monaco in an attempt to sneak in and out with some intel or something, bit. I'm pretty sure there were explosions in the preview." He tilts the popcorn bucket in AJ's direction so that he can dig around in it. "I think it's one of those.. the bad guys are having some sort of secret meeting and you're supposed to infiltrate it and get the weapons out of their hands, but then something goes awry and then it's all chase scenes and explosions from there on out kind of things."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Cool. Prefer explosions to sex scenes anyway. Well.. depending who's shirtless." AJ mumbles slightly as he munches away on some popcorn, fixing his eyes on the pre-preview advertisements rolling across the screen. He washes down the salty popcorn with another sip of soda and settles in to wait for the movie to start. "Been a while since I've even been in a movie theater. I mean, I kept meaning to go to a movie I just.. didn't get around to it."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper chuckles at that and then turns his attention to the previews, "Yeah." He slouches down comfortably in his seat, taking a cursory glance around. The theatre's just full enough that they don't particularly stand out amidst all the others, and with a few college students looking not that much older than they do, he feels pretty comfortable with their blend-in game and fully relaxes. There's a glance over toward AJ then and he raises his brows, "Okay well, we're fixing that. Time you started to get around to stuff."

AJ Strong has posed:
"I thought that's what we were doing." AJ says with a small chuckle. He too is taking a glance around the theater, as if worried they might stand out a little too much, even if he is a grand whopping four months from being able to walk into the movie normally himself. "Definitely need to get burgers after this though, that's the right thing to do after a movie, right? Food."

Roy Harper has posed:
"It is," Roy confirms with a grin. The previews give way to the opening credits and he nods, "Sure. Burgers. We're also supposed to get you a beer. But burgers first is probably a good idea. Put something in your stomach beforehand." He gives AJ a sidelong grin. "Then, beer." The movie starts out predictably with the lead agent and her team being introduced as they all clandestinely converge on the secret meeting. Roy falls quiet for a while as they watch, occasionally reaching into the bucket and grabbing more popcorn.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ goes quiet once the movie starts, except for the occasional crunching of popcorn or slurp through the soda straw. Those little ambient noises in the theater that the volume on the movie is usually high enough to cover if not just blow your eardrums right out with certain explosions. He does glance over to Roy occasionally watching him for a few seconds here or there, but his eyes mostly stay on the movie as it goes along.

Roy Harper has posed:
For the most part, Roy is quiet, just watching the movie, grinning at some of the jokes, chuckling if they're funny, engrossed in the suspenseful parts. Every so often he glances over at AJ, possibly checking to make sure he's actually enjoying the movie, and then goes back to watching. By the time that it's over, nearly the entire tub of popcorn is gone, and he's reached the very last slurp of his soda. Wiping off his hands, he gets up with the crowd as the credits roll and says, "So.. now we make our exit in the middle of the herd," as he leans down and murmurs to AJ on his way by, nodding toward the door.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Unless we theater hopped." AJ says softly, as if he's figured that much out for himself already. He walks like any other person leaving the theater, tossing his trash in the bin as he walks past and shoving his hands in his pockets. There's a slight grin on his face like he might indeed try to duck into one of the other theaters but just follows the crowd to the exit. "Good pick, though. Thanks for bringing me along."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy laughs, "Unless we theatre hopped." He grins and offers AJ a high five, but they still make their way on out this time. "We'll save that for next time," he says as they head out into the evening air outside the theatre, slightly colder than it was inside. "Burgers?" he asks, and nods down to the corner where the nearest burger joint is, and starts wandering in that direction. "Unless you've got someplace else you want to go." Then he gives a thumbs-up. "It was pretty good, right? Hey, you're letting me come along on your experience adventure. So, team effort."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Burgers." AJ agrees with an eager nod. Though as he falls into step with Roy to head to the place he suggests, AJ reaches into his pocket to fish out a small notepad. He flps it open and scans it quickly, then pulling the short pen out of the spiral binding crosses a line off the list. There is an actual, physical list. He flips the notepad shut with a grin and returns it to his pocket like that was a perfectly normal thing to do. "Well, sometimes people need help doing things."

Roy Harper has posed:
"That's me," Roy grins, "I'm a helper." He manages to catch sight of the notepad and he grins broadly, "Oh man, there's an actual list!" He reaches toward the pocket to try to snag it, moving very quickly, but of course, AJ can just blip away from him, so he may not catch it in time. "Can I see it?" Of course he asks /after/ he tries to nab it.

AJ Strong has posed:
Except there are people around which keeps AJ from hopping off, and he's not exactly expecting Roy to go after the actual list. So when he feels it leave his pocket he tries to make a snatch for it, which he probably doesn't get. There's a bit of a look at Roy, then a sigh. "Fine.. I guess.." The list does have quite a few mundane things on there, but there are also some more corny or personal things, and now AJ is pointedly not looking at Roy

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper manages to get ahold of the list as they walk on over to the burger joint, flashing AJ a broad grin, and then flipping through it to see what is on it, scanning down the page one item at a time, making note. He's vaguely aware of AJ not looking at him out of the corner of his eye, but he's also trying to read and not crash into anyone on the way down the street, so most of his attention is on the list and a few feet ahead of him.

AJ Strong has posed:
Most of it is the kind of stuff you'd expect a sheltered teen to come up with. Places to go, things to do, some of it silly, othr a bit more serious. Everything from drinking games to a list of museums. Of course there's a whole section about dating and AJ almost can feel when Roy gets to that and hunches his shoulders.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper's smile actually softens a little as he gets through some of the items on the list. He closes up the notebook and holds it out over to AJ for him to take back. "Looks like we've got plenty of ground to cover. Looks like a solid list to me," is what he decides to say. "Hell, some of those I haven't even done. Maybe I need to make a list."

AJ Strong has posed:
"It's actually the second list. The first list was recorded. I just added to it when I had ideas, it was sort of a.. 'When I get better..' promise list. I'd play it when I was feeling down." AJ accepts the list back from Roy and tucks it in his pocket. "So when I did, I went through it, wrote it all down and now I just have to do it."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper nods his head as they walk along and lightly bumps AJ with his elbow, "Well it's a good list. And it's not like you have to stop there. Can always add some more things as you check off some of the ones you've got." They reach the burger place and Roy pulls open the door so AJ can go through, and then follows him on in and over to one of the tables.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ steps inside and follows Roy to one of the tables, grabbing the menu. "Well.. I guess I could keep adding to it, but the point was to get me up to speed on everything I felt like I missed. I don't want it to be neverending, I want there to be a day where I can put it down and just live." He tilts his head to the side as if he's not so sure of his explanation. "Does that make sense?"

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper falls into the booth comfortably and stretches his legs out on the seat so that his back is up against the wall and he can look out over the restaurant. He picks up one of the menus and looks it over, but nods to AJ and says, "Yeah, sure, that makes sense. I promise not to add things to your list while you're not looking, then." He grins.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Well, if you notice something missing that really should be on there.." AJ shrugs. "I mean, a lot of it was guess work and TV shows and books." He tucks one leg under himself as he makes himself comfortable in the booth. "Honestly, there's probably more things on the list than there should be."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Dude," Roy says, laughing, "It's your list. It has exactly the right amount of things for you. That's all that matters. It's not about how many things are there, it's about experiencing the life you want to experience." He gestures a little bit to the restaurant and beyond. "You've got a chance to do the things you want to do. Lots of people just don't bother. They just settle in and forget about all the things they want to do and never get around to it. Good for you for like.. doing it."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Well, most people don't think they're going to die before eighteen. Gives you a different outlook, I guess." AJ sets the menu aside, leaning an elbow on the table anddropping his chin in his hand. He watches the people milling around the restaurant with idle curiosity. "It's also why I want to do what I want to do. I feel lucky, feels like I should give back."

Roy Harper has posed:
A waiter comes by the table to take their orders. Roy gets himself a milkshake and a burger with fries, not as much as he usually orders, but he seems content with that. Then he waits while AJ orders and the waiter heads off. His expression is a bit more serious when they're left to themselves again, "I'm glad that you got better. I'm glad that I got to meet you." And he seems very sincere about that. "And you're going to. You're going to be a hero and do cool things." In that, he seems confident.

AJ Strong has posed:
There's an order for two cheeseburgers, chips, and a coke from AJ. He'll definitely eat it all, too. "Thanks, I'm glad your uncle got frustrated with you and put you in this school so I could meet you." His grin is just a little teasing, just a little. "I hope so, but I still need to train up and put in the work. I'm a long way off from being able to really help out."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper laughs at that and rubs a bit at the back of his neck, looking away from AJ and out toward the room at large. "Yeah, well, I guess I am, too." He shakes his head a little and then says, "You'll do it." Then he's quiet for a bit, just letting his head rest back against the wall as he looks out over the room. "Okay, so important question. Beer acquisiton. What level of difficulty are we going for here? Is the goal just to have one? To sneak one? To actually buy one?"

AJ Strong has posed:
"Just.. have one. Dad's very strict on the whole thing. Dunno why. Grandpa never kept him out of the wine cellar.." AJ grumbles under his breath. "I think it's that overprotective streak he has. Caught me trying to sneak one of his out of the frige and back to my room and now he has it all in a locked minifrige in his office. Not even joking."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper nods his head once and says, "Alright. That one's easy. We'll go after we finish eating." And with that settled, he leans back once more, making himself comfortable as he people watches. "Man, even Ollie doesn't have the booze locked up at home. But then.." he trails off and shrugs his shoulders and doesn't continue that train of thought any further than that.

AJ Strong has posed:
"So.. you know how I knew who your uncle was when I saw him?" AJ's tone drops softly. "Dad used him as an example of how not to spend my trust fund. Well, younger him." There's a bit of a grimace. "I think that's another reason, he doesn't want me turning into one of those wild party rich kids that end up on the front of tabloids. His brother did that and apparently it was no end of grief for my grandfather."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper smirks just a little bit at that and says, "Ollie the wild party rich kid. Now he's more Ollie the disapproving dad. You can tell your dad that. Now he's the guy who stares at you til you take your hat off in the house. No joke." He drapes one arm along the back of the booth seat and smiles as the waiter delivers their order, reaching over to grab a fry and pop it in his mouth. "Your dad would hate me."

AJ Strong has posed:
"That's quite the turn around." AJ says with a grin. "Though.. I'm not so sure my dad would hate you. He'd be glad I'm making friends, he.. might be a little wary of you." There's a small, but unsure laugh that comes from him followed by a frown. "I mean, other than sneaking into a movie, I haven't seen you do much I'd consider a particularly bad influence on me."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yeah," Roy says with a little bit of a smirk, grabbing another fry and popping it into his mouth with a faint snort when AJ said he'd be wary of him. His eyes are on his plate though when he says, "Yeah. True. I'll try and keep it that way." Which seems to be as much for himself as for AJ.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ picks up a burger and munches into it, casting a curious look over it to Roy. "Well, I kind of like you the way you are. So, don't go changing on my account, if you want to change who you are, do it because you want to do it. Not for someone else. That's just going to make you unhappy." More coke.. hopefully he processes caffeine as quick as food or he's going to be buzzing.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper opens his mouth to say something but then closes it again, and just picks up his burger and takes a bite out of it, needing to chew and swallow keeping him from having to say anything. After the bite is done, he asks, "So which of those museums do you want to go to first? I haven't been to any of them so.. I figure.. that'd be a good thing to do sometime, right?"

AJ Strong has posed:
"You can want to change yourself for someone, but make sure you're doing it because you want to, too. Doesn't make much sense, but it does." AJ smirks as he takes another bite out of his burger. He blinks a few times. "Hmm.. already got down to the Zoo and the MOMA.. so the Museum of Natural History should be the next one on the list. Technically I've been there before but I was like.. five."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper gives a slight roll of his shoulders, "I'm not tryin' to change. I'm just trying to make sure I don't screw things up too much for other folks, either." He lifts up his milkshake and takes a sip as he nods when AJ mentions the museum. "Doesn't count if you can't remember it. So, Natural History sounds like a plan."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Well, that's just being considerate. I think you underestimate yourself though, Roy. You're a good man, that's all that matters." He polishes off one burger, washing down the last bite and having a few chips. He nods, "Maybe next weekend we can hop on the subway and head downtown. I can take you to one of my favorite eating spots."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper studies AJ from across the table, watching him as he takes another sip from his milkshake. He looks like he might want to argue, but then he shakes his head and says, "Yeah? What's your favorite spot down there?" Because that is an easier topic to deal with.

AJ Strong has posed:
"That.. is just going to have to be a surprise you will have to deal with." AJ picks up his second cheeseburger with a grin that says he's enjoying keeping that to himself, even if Roy will probably not be bothered by it being kept a secret al all.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper raises both eyebrows at that, and there's a definite flicker of curiosity in his expression, eyes narrowing a little after a moment like he wants to ask, but then finally he says, "Okay, fine. I will let you have your surprise, considering I kinda stole your whole list earlier and already pried into everything like a nosy asshole." He finishes off his own burger and fries and settles back in the booth to sip his milkshake and let AJ finish his meal.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Yeah, but luckily I don't mind having a nosey asshole around." AJ smirks. Somehow between talking he still manages to inhale most of his food, and god only knows where he puts it. Maybe he has an interdimensional cavity in his body somewhere. He pops the last bit of burger in his mouth and goes back to munching away on fries, happily.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper usually eats a lot more. Maybe it was the popcorn earlier that slowed him down a little. It's hard to tell, but he seems content enough to sip on his milkshake. He laughs, though, and says, "Lucky me." His attention wanders around the room for a bit, watching people come and go, lingering here and there on one person or another, their interactions with others in the room. He seems content to people watch while AJ eats for the most part. It's only as the meal is winding down that he fishes out his wallet and hands a credit card to the waiter when he brings the check.

AJ Strong has posed:
Maybe there's a mild flash of annoyance on AJ's features as Roy manages to pay before he can. He ate more food after all, but he doesn't say anything, just letting it slide. He sips on his sodanow that he's pretty much done eating, for the moment, he'll probably grab another snack back at the dorms. What he does do is fish out his wallet and drop some bills on the table to cover the tip, giving Roy a look that says 'Don't fight me on this.'

Roy Harper has posed:
"You can get me when we go to your favorite place," Roy says, having caught that flicker of annoyance in his peripheral vision. He doesn't fight him on the tip. "So, you still up for grabbing a beer before we head back?" he asks as he moves to slide out of the booth and head toward the door.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Might as well get all my delinquency out of my system in one night." AJ jokes lightly as he slides out of the booth. He shoves his hands in his pockets as he follows after Roy, back out into the cool evening air. "Mm... I love spring evenings. Just the right spot between cold and warm."

Roy Harper has posed:
"All of it, huh? We'll see," Roy quips back with a little bit of an amused smile over at AJ as the head out into the evening once more, and turn down the street. This time, he leads them down a different street, and a few blocks further down. It's a nice enough walk. The businesses start to thin though as they near the end and he glances over at AJ. "Okay so, we can get there one of two ways -- my way, or your way. My way involves climbing on top of a wall and jumping onto a fire escape then climbing to the roof. Or.. we can uh.. pop up there." He nods toward the roof of a nearby four-story building.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Well, as fun as your way sounds." AJ slaps his hand on Roy's shoulder. Oddly, he kicks off the ground though still keeps contact with Roy right as he blinks out. A small feeling of tugging later and the pair are standing on the rooftop. "Not that I couldn't have done all that climbing and stuff, but why exert ourselves if we don't need to." He winks and lets his hand fall back to his side.

Roy Harper has posed:
Annnnnnd that was jarring. Roy still reaches out to grab onto AJ's arm to steady himself like he did the first time, but he looks a little less green this time around. "Okay.. still dizzy, but .. not terrible." He releases AJ and then gets his bearings, looking around, and then nodding toward a door on the roof. When they get there, he pulls out a key and unlocks it, heading inside and motioning for AJ to follow. There's a narrow spiral staircase that leads down from the roof into a room beneath a skylight that offers a view of the sky above.

The room itself is fairly bare bones. There's another door on the far wall that one might presume leads out toward the rest of the building. The floor is hardwood, old, worn, but soft from the decades of many feet having traversed it. There are large beanbag chairs strewn about ranging from little ottoman sized ones to giant multi-person sized ones. There's a stereo system and a bar, shelves filled with various books and board games. It's like the rec room that time forgot. The walls are mostly bare save for tapestries hung to soften the otherwise bare brick.

Roy flicks on a light and wanders back toward the bar.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Do I want to know where we are or why you have a key?" AJ's tone is at least still humor laden, if Roy has a key it must not be completely inappropriate to be in here, even if they didcome in from the roof. He does glance around as he follows Roy towards the bar though, hands shoved back in his pocket. "Not a bad looking hangout spot at any rate."

Roy Harper has posed:
"It's a friend's place," Roy says as he slides his keys back into his pocket. "So, no, you don't need to add breaking and entering into your list and cross it off," he smirks as he slips behind the bar and reaches into the cooler to pull out a couple of bottles of beer and pops the tops off, tossing them into the trash bin. "I crash here sometimes." He extends one bottle to AJ and takes the other for himself.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ arches a brow, but maybe he just knows better than to dig too deep into things, especially with Roy. He does take the bottle, with a grin and takes a swig. Then he frowns, moves the beer from one cheek to the other, pulls his brows down, and swallows. He lifts the bottle up and looks at it. "Is it supposed to taste like that?" Because he honestly didn't know what to expect, but it's not meeting expectation.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper leans back against the bar, taking a swig from his own and laughing a bit at the expression on AJ's face. "Not quite what you were hoping, huh?" He takes another swig from his own and then says, "If you don't like it, you can have something else. Or.. maybe just stick to soda. But hey, at least you tried it."

AJ Strong has posed:
"I dunno, with how much everyone drinks it I thought it'd taste.. different." AJ shrugs. "It's not bad, just not what I was expecting." He walks over to one of the beanbag chairs and sits down in it, spreading his legs out in front of him, and as if to prove a stubborn point takes another, but smaller, sip of beer.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper can't help but grin but he tries to conceal it a bit by taking another swig from his bottle. "But yeah, it tastes like that. I mean, there are different kinds. Some are darker and thicker, some are lighter. Some are red. They all have kind of different flavors to them. Maybe you like a different kind. Or maybe you don't like it at all. I mean, some folks aren't beer drinkers." He wanders over and he flops down onto a giant beanbag beneath the skylight nearby and stares up through it, bottle dangling off to the side held in one hand. "I try not to drink too much of Mel's good stuff, though. She gets cranky." Must be the friend whose place this is.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ looks at the bottle and shrugs. "It'll just take getting used to, kind of like stinky cheese." He smirks and continues to nurse the bottle slowly. He wracks his brain to see if he knows a Mel from school who might qualify, but he gives up after he realizes they are probably old enough to be out of school if they have 'good stuff'. He watches Roy from his own seat, going silent as they both just sit there.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper wrinkles his nose and then chuckles. "Gonna pass on the stinky cheese," he decides after a bit, tucking one arm beneath his head as he looks up at the skylight. "I like this place. Sometimes when it's nice out in the summer you can camp out on the roof, listen to the city, watch the stars." It's very likely that whoever Mel is, she is a good deal older than they are to have this place, which is pretty nice, and a stocked bar. Eventually he can feel AJ's eyes and he looks over back at him. "What?"

AJ Strong has posed:
"Nothing." AJ says in response to Roy's question, eyes flicking away. He picks at the label on the beer bottle idly. "Yeah, seems like a nice little place to just hole up and get away from things." Then after another moment's pause, he looks back over to Roy. "I had a good time tonight, thanks. It's nice to just get out a feel like a normal teenager once in a while."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper rolls over onto his side and sets the bottle on the floor, propping his head up on one hand as he studies AJ, "It can be, yeah." He smiles when AJ looks back over and he says, "Yeah, me too. It was good to just you know, go out and do normal people things that don't have anything to do with school or bad guys or training or.. anything, really, other than to just have some fun." He says, "So thanks, for that, too."

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ sets the bottle down on the ground and digs out his notepad. He flips through until he finds the right page and crosses something off, then there's another page flip and there's no crossing but he seems to jot down a quick something, no more than a letter or two. Then he's closing the notepad again with a grin. "Good progress tonight." He leans back and looks up at the sky throught he skylight, picking up his drink to keep trying to get through it.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper tilts his head as he watches AJ get the notepad out and make a mark and then write something in and asks, "What'd you add?" Because he's a nosy asshole, as previously established. "Yeah, I'd say so," he agrees, though, on the progress. He picks up his bottle and takes another swallow then sets it back down again. He chuckles, "You know you don't have to actually finish it, AJ. I'll drink it for you if you're worried about wasting it."

AJ Strong has posed:
"I didn't add anything, I made a note to myself." AJ says as he tucks the pad away. He shakes his head. "I have a feeling this is one of those things no one likes at first, and then turn into snobs about, so I'm going to drink it, and pull it apart in my head.." He's got that stubborn look to his face right now, he's set his mind to it and it's happening.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper grins. "You've got a stubborn streak." It's a compliment, the way that he says it, and then he rolls over back onto his back, folding his arms beneath his head and looking up through the skylight. "I like it." He's quiet for a while before he asks, "So what did the note say?" since it wasn't something added to the list, and he's no less nosy.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Yup." AJ doesn't even deny it. "And it's helped me out so far." He side-eyes Roy as he asks the question again. "So do you. It's just a musing to myself, a maybe this has been checked off, we'll see." He's being purposefully vague, and he's smiling as he dances around giving a real answer, knowing it's probably annoying and enjoying it nonetheless.

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yup," Roy echoes when AJ points out that he too has a stubborn streak. His brows raise up a bit when AJ dodges again and he smirks. "Maybe I'll just steal it again later to find out," he muses, though he doesn't move at all from where he's sprawled on the beanbag, and he lets his head rest back into his folded arms as he looks up at the skylight instead. Apparently that might be an idle threat.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Go ahead." AJ says with an arched brow as he tosses down the gauntlet, though a smile crosses his face. He finishes off the beer and sets the bottle down next to the bean bag, folding his hands together over his chest he redirects his gaze skyward once more, just enjoying the scene, and the company, and perhaps the slight buzz that's settling in that makes him suddenly realize... oh..

Roy Harper has posed:
"Maybe I will," Roy says and then rolls off the beanbag and stretches over toward AJ's pocket, but he's going way slower than he was at the movie theatre, which means he's clearly just playing with no real intent to take it. AJ's seen how fast Roy moves, and Roy definitely isn't tipsy enough to be drunk, not with only half a beer and a full meal in his belly.

AJ Strong has posed:
"I could always just teleport you a hundred feet in the air and drop you, too. Not that I would...." AJ smirks as Roy comes closer, swatting his hand away lightly. "You know, I haven't taken you up in the air, yet. It's like.. I dunno it's hard to describe it. There's a moment of floating and then just as it feel like gravity is about to pull me down, I blink away again."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper's hand is easily swatted away since he wasn't trying that hard. So he makes another attempt, this one a little bit faster, though he's grinning. "You know I can't fly, right? You're telling me that you'd murder me in cold blood for looking at your notebook? That's cold, AJ. Cooold." He's very clearly teasing. "I don't think I'm quite ready for freefall yet. I already feel like my guts are trying to escape past my lungs every time you just pop me from one place to the other."

AJ Strong has posed:
"I never said I'd let you hit the ground." AJ winks. "I've actually been practicing throwing myself things and catching things I drop." That actually might sound worse, especially with the smile he adds on to the end of it. "Nah, you're too cute to just drop like that." Then he bites his lip as if realizing what he just said and trying to gloss it over with an almost immediate. "We should probably get back to the dorms, there's class in the morning."

Roy Harper has posed:
"I'm not sure that's better," Roy laughs, especially with the smile at the end. "Nope," Roy says with a grin that spreads almost ear to ear. "You said I was cute." He stands up, taking the bottle of beer with him. "And we can head back to the dorms, but that does not change the fact that youuuu think I'm cute." He raises both brows and finishes off the bottle before dropping it in the empties. He pulls out a pad from near the wall and a pen and scribbles down a note on it, leaving it on the bar top, watching AJ from there.

AJ Strong has posed:
"I don't know what you're talking about." AJ says as he stands up, shoving his hands in his pockets. He looks up at the skylight one last time, jumps and winks out, leaving Roy along in the safehouse, though when he comes out on the roof, AJ is standing there waiting for him with a brow raised. "What took you so long?"

Roy Harper has posed:
When AJ blinks out and leaves him standing there, Roy just stares for a moment and says, "Aw now that's not fair.." aloud, to the empty room. But then he shrugs and grins, "Ah well." He leaves the note on the bar top, collects AJ's bottle, and gets rid of that and then heads back up to the roof. When he finds AJ standing there he raises a brow and says, "Thought you ran off." He turns to lock the door, and then turns back toward AJ.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ is quietly scanning the skyline, looking for the school rooftop. "I think I could hop us to the school in two jumps, one up further into the air, then one to the school roof, should be that way." He says pointing in the vague direction of the school. "Or I can just blnk us back down into that alley and we can walk back." He's smirking, already knowing which one Roy is going to choose.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper glances out over the rooftops in the direction of the school. He knows how far away they are. He looks out that way, then he looks back to AJ, and then he steps up closer to him. And for a moment or two he hesitates and then he says, "Jump us to the school." Like he's just decided to go skydiving or something.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ arches a brow, then nods. "Hold on, this can be terrifying and fun at the same time." But instead of just tapping Roy on the shoulder he wraps an arm around his waist. "More contact the better. Hold on." He waits for Roy to wrap an arm around him before he does his little pre long-jump foot to foot hop as if warming up. Then somewhere in the hopping pattern he blinks up and forward. For the first time comeing out of the blink there's nothing solid to touch other than AJ. Though his eyes are focused forward. There's a split second of what feels like hovering, then gravity kicks in, and just asthey start to drift downwards he blinks again, and the solid roof of the school appears under their feet. "See! Easy."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper's come to expect the grab at his shoulder at this point, and he tenses a little as though in preparation for it, but then when AJ puts an arm around his waist, he wasn't prepared for that, and it takes him a moment before he gets it. "Oh, right.. yeah, okay." He puts an arm around AJ's waist and takes in a deep breath, "Don't drop me, bro." Famous last words? And then he's in mid-air and he stares, wide-eyed and without breath, but as soon as he feels that gravity kicking in he grabs onto AJ hard with both arms because holyfuckhe'sfallingandhecan'tflyandhe'sgoingtod... oh. And then they're on the roof, and he's still holding on, just staring for a second, before he realizes he hasn't let go and he flushes, letting go and taking a step back. "Holy shit.. Hooo leeee shit.. that was.. fucking amazing."

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ is blushing a little himself as Roy lets go of him. "Yeah, that's good for when I need to move really quick, I just blink through the air. It's.. kind of terrifying as hell the first few times but you get used to it." He looks at Roy for a moment, looking as if he wants to do something, one hand coming up and then he shoves it in his pocket. "We should probablygetdownstairs before we get in trouble for being on the roof." He chews his lower lip and turnd towards the roof access door that will take tham back down into the dorms.

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yeah, kind of terrifying is exactly how I'd describe that, but man.. what a rush," Roy says, letting out a little breathless laugh. He looks back at AJ, and before he can turn away, he reaches out to catch his jacket lightly and says "Hey." Then he leans in, and unless he jerks back or pulls away, kisses him, just once, a light, if a little trembly adrenaline-filled kiss.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ doesn't pull back or jerk away, he does tense a little, right as their lips make contact but almost immediately relaxes. He's practically crimson when just that light kiss breaks, but there's a goofy smile on his face. "I, um.." And then he's leaning forward for another brush of the lips, this one a little more than just a light kiss.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper can't help the smile that spreads across his own lips before AJ leans forward for another kiss. He leans back into it, letting it linger a little longer before their lips part again and he says quietly, "That one.. was a first for me, too." His fingers uncurl from AJ's jacket slowly, and then he just smiles. "And.. I think you're cute, too."
