Cast of Characters: Mona Lisa, Hal Jordan

Mona Lisa has posed:
The Atlantic Starport is not exactly the busiest port in the galaxy, but it is home to the planet that happens to have the most Green Lanterns outside of Oa. The few extraterrestials that do show up are a bit noteworthy, given Earth's tech level and galactic presence, and this bona fide alien has made things very clear she's here on official government business, insisting on meetings with Shield and Sword to discuss said business, and the one thing she's almost demanded but has not had yet is a meeting with one of those Green Lanterns.

Until now. Her Silverfish-like, segmented and clearly mechanical but organically shaped ship of bluish green metal descends onto the landing pad, a flight path showing that she's coming back from Manhattan for this meeting. A ramp descends from the ship before a newt-like alien descends from it, a grayish blue herself covered in armor that looks to be of the same metal as her ship, morphing pads on her wrists and a holstered energy sword appear to be her only weapons.

She gives a gutteral, almost gargling "Rakka, rakka!" noise as she gets within speaking distance of the Lantern, finally speaking perfect english and in a shockingly human sounding voice, "I am Lieutenant Y'Gythgba of the Salamandrian Air Command, though I have been assigned the Earth name of Mona Lisa to use on my mission here You may call me either of these names. I have requested your audience to state my intentions and explain my presence on this world." She lifts one of her arms with a closed fist in a sort of salute, and then holds it out as the morphing pad morphs into a holo-projector displaying a brain-like organism with two little tendrils and a face on it, stating "As you are no doubt aware Earth is home to a large number of galactic criminals. We have reason to believe the Utrom known as Krang is hiding somewhere on this planet, as an example... and as another..." the hologram shifts to a salamander-like alien like her, except this one appears black-scaled and masculine, with a red throat, "K'Vathrak, a renegade from my own people. These are but two of the individuals I will be hunting here, I can provide you a full list if you desire. I would appreciate your assistance if you can give it, but I understand your own assignments may come first."

Hal Jordan has posed:
Some might question the value of this space port, of actively seeming to invite more aliens to visit a world that has seen more than it's fair share of trouble because of that. Humanity is not always the most open minded. They are hardly alone in the universe in fearing that which they do not understand. And they have been given some pretty good reason to be wary of outsiders, of visitors to this world.

Of course they've been given some pretty good examples of all the good that welcoming outsiders can bring as well. Arguments for and against to be certain. And there's little doubt just where Hal Jordan, Green Lantern of Sector 2814 stands in all of that. He wears around one ring the example of what a gift from the stars can truly look like. And while he only had the chance to exchange a handful of words with his alien benefactor he is never likely to forget him either.

While he might be essentially a 'space cop' -- the Green Lantern Corps being almost ubiquitous across known space -- Hal doesn't exactly do bureaucracy all that well. It is part of the reason that, despite all his success, the Guardians do not always find themselves... approving of his action and demeanor. Still, it could be worse.

He could be Guy Gardener.

So for the most part he plays no real professional role here at the space port. He doesn't represent any of the Earth governmental organizations afterall. But curiousity about this request as much as anything else has brought him down here today, a faintly amused smile resting on his face as the alien officer introduces herself. "Lieutenant. A pleasure to have you visit us in our humble little backwater," he says drily. Rarely have backwaters ever seen so many visitors. "I'm Hal Jordan, one of the Green Lanterns representing this sector of space. While you will obviously want to coordinate with members of SHIELD and SWORD while here planetside I do appreciate you checking in with the representatives of the Corps on planet. If you need our assistance, I do believe that I can promise you that we shall do our best," he says pleasantly, looking over the examples of her 'prey' here planetside as she runs through them. "There is obviously no sort of formal extradition treaties or the like between our planets, but I suspect you'll find that SHIELD is no more eager to have dangerous criminals of the extra-terrestrial variety here then you are having them here," he assures her.

Mona Lisa has posed:
The giant newt seems to smile at that - at least they have facial expressions in common - and she nods at this, saying "Good. I was having no trouble at all from them, so your jurisdiction was my last concern before starting my full investigation." She pulls up the holographic emitter on her wrist again, saying "If you don't have anything more at this time then let me just give a word of warning. That Krang I mentioned before." She brings up the hologram of the brain like alien once more, "Him and his people, the Utroms, are infamous for their use of Mutagen. It has unpredictable properties that can mutate a being with horrifying results, lucky subjects being granted immense power while unlucky ones are granted a painful but mercifully short existence. Worse, it mutates your entire body on contact. If you happen across this one, be especially cautious around any liquids in his vicinity."

Hal Jordan has posed:
Being a Green Lantern he does deal with all sorts. It's certainly broadened his world view. Or would that be galactic view? Either way.

"Earth's obviously pretty new to the whole intergalactic agencies and the like. Technically the Corps isn't recognized and does not have official standing either. Though again, no one's really going to complain. So yes, safely in the clear from anyone claiming jurisidiction. Aside from the possibility of some local law enforcement if any of your targets get caught causing trouble," Hal says with a faint smirk. Small town sheriffs can be more annoying to deal with then the Director of SHIELD sometimes -- though not nearly so dangerous.

Hal appears to take the warning in the spirit that it's offered, nodding his head. "Appreciate the head's up. I'll pull up anything that the Guardians have on Krang and his people and distrbute to the hero set 'round here as a warning. It's not a big concern for me," he says with a brief smile. That green glow is some then pretty lighting afterall, but instead a near constant force field. "...but others will appreciate the head's up," he assures her.

Just what they need. Someone on planet creating monsters.

Mona Lisa has posed:
Mona Lisa nods, and then raises a fist with knuckles towards the sky with a sort of expecting look for Hal to do the same, beckoning him to touch the bottom of his fist to hers as some sort of motion of agreement, like a handshake. "I'm glad everything is in order then. I would offer a spar to see how you fight, but I sense you are short on time, so I will not keep you. Perhaps another time, Hal Jordan."

Hal Jordan has posed:
There are millions of different alien species in the galaxy and even more different, varied cultures. It would be impossible to know them all. Even restricting it to his own Sector of space would make it impossible. But the Green Lantern power ring is a whole lot more than just a weapon. It's more then just a matter converter. It is a repository of all the knowledge of the Guardians as well and when the alien officer makes the gesture, that ring fills in the blanks for Hal.

"It has been a pleasure Lieutenant Y'Gythgba," he offers up, replicating that alien salute. "And perhaps another time. Unless your hunts go very well I suspect that this is not the last time that we will run into each other," he admits dryly. He starts to float up from the ground, that green aura around him intensifying as he does so and he raises a pair of fingers to his forehead, flicking them her way in a more informal, local salute. "Good hunting," he says with a grin.

And then, like a streak of green light, Hal Jordan disappears into the sky.
