Metallic Mystery

Location:	Abandoned Amusement Park - Amusement Mile
Synopsis:	Upon crash-landing in Gotham from deep space, Detective Chimp is here to save the day, and teach the naive nanodroid some things abou the really strange world she ended up in.

Minoke has posed:
A glimmer of light is in the sky - a shooting star? But it's getting brighter, a whistling sound can be heard as an object descends from the heavens, aiming right for the abandoned amusement park! The glow of reentry is so bright that the object is impossible to discern, but it makes impact with a deafening boom! (Little of interest was damaged by the landing but there's a new crater in the old park.) Nothing else seems to happen for a while after as the cylindrical object is still glowing white-hot, cooling and hissing.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp 's office is not to far from the park, and he had stepped out to go to the local ABC store, and was fixing to go back into the office with his prize, when he sees the shooting star that is getting brighter and closer, as it passes overhead not to far from him, he will open the door set his bags inside, locking the door back, He then opens the door, and grabs a bottle opens it taking a swig and refilling his flask before putting it back inside and relocks the door, and flask in his pocket, he heads to see what exactly that was, heck it is it a meteorite maybe he can sell it to help pay next months rent, or at least keep some of Gotham's more colorful citizens from getting their hands on it. He takes to the alleyways and scales the fence of the amusement park with ease heading more on a straight line than others probably can.

Minoke has posed:
The small object which appears to be a small starship or shuttle or something is settling down. Once it stops glowing, it hums slowly as a hatch opens up, revealing a strange sight. A coffin-shaped interior is within - it mostly appears made of plastic. There are what appears to be metal ingots all through it - the middle of it has some strange metal ball with plastic separators keeping it separate from the metal. The ball has some green lights on it, flickering, and there is a significant scorch mark visible on it. The lights on the ball whirr up as it starts shining a green beam of light around, as if trying to see what is happening, and it's bumping against the plastic walls as it rolls. It hasn't seen any response from the locals yet.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will come up on the site via the roller coaster, figuring it would give the best vantage site, and also lets him see if anyone else is heading towards it. Once he has a look at it, he will start to climb down towards it "This had better not be space vampires, it has been years since I last watched Life Force." He says to himself. He will come towards it on the side of the scorch mark, figuring to get a look at the damage and also the damage may hide his approach.

Minoke has posed:
The core turns as you approach, shining a green light at you - like a flashlight beam, but it scans you up and down. It makes a beeping noise and bumps against the plastic box it's in, then shines that light at the metal chunks on the other side. Apparently the core is stuck and can't get to it. The damage on the ship makes it clear that it's not going to plan.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp hmms and will pause as the thing scans him. He will call out "Hello, anyone there?" He does move a bit closer to have a closer look he has already been scanned so might as well get up close and personal. He will reach out to lightly touch the ship to see if it is cool enough he can touch it fully.

Minoke has posed:
The ship is still hot, but not too hot to touch. The core looks at you, scanning over the creature before her, but stops cold as you speak, the light even going out, as it starts to flicker, rolling against the side of the plastic box, bouncing back and forth - it wants out of that box and sounds very confused. The beeping sounds like some kind of binary code. It finally manages to bounce out of the box and land in the metal scraps, which immediately start... melting into a green goo and start to wrap around the core.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will start to get closer, and even starts to reach to let the thing out but as it gets out itself, he will step back watching. Chimp has seen a lot of things more magic than high tech to be honest, but not a rookie to high tech things. He does step back from this waiting and watching. He does pull a cigar from his pocket clenching it in his teeth but does not light it, he has heard some aliens got a thing with fire.

Minoke has posed:
More of the metal gets absorbed, a large green mass appearing - then it forms into... a chimpanzee, similar to Detective Chimp himself. But the newly-formeod entity is female, with fur in a dark green color, faintly-glowing green eyes with a third unblinking brightly-glowing green eye centered on her forehead. She forms wearing a hat, a simple sports coat emulating yours, and pants. No shoes either. She blinks, staring at you, tilting her head, the center green eye focusing on you. She says nothing for now, tilting her head, then looks all around the park, studying the rusted metal of the roller coaster rails, then back to the one before her. She tries to say something, but her voice is garbled - it sounds like static.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp 's brow raises a bit at the female green chimp "Oh that would just confuse the fire out of poor Beastboy." He says and smiles a bit at the thought "Hello, I am Bobo, but most call me Detective Chimp." He offers his human name, not quite his true name, but more than a lot get. He studies her for a moment "Your not from around here, can you talk? If so I should be able to understand you." He offers.

Minoke has posed:
Minoke just taps her throat, closing her eyes for a moment, then focuses on you. "De... tective... Chimp..." comes a feminine voice. "I understand you. I... appear to be damaged. I am unable... to initiate repairs. Is this Planet Earth? I was... heading to Earth for... for..." She frowns, clutching her head. "I do not remember." She is speaking in an alien language known as Coluan. "How can I understand you? You are not... from... where I am from... are you?" She sounds confused. "I am called Minoke." She stays in the rocket's cockpit, picking up the rest of the metal scraps and stares at them. "Irradiated..." she grumbles, dropping them.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks over and says "Yes, you are on earth, and I can speak to most anyone it is a gift of mine." He will explain to her "So, you have come to Earth and your not sure why or what brought you here other than your ship? Do you know where you came from, what happened to your ship?

Minoke has posed:
Minoke just blinks, tilting her head. "Ummmm... I think... there was a... ummmm...." She frowns, then checks a glowing port at the front of the cockpit and touches it, frowning. "The ship's database is damaged as well - but this damage is consistent with an ion storm. I was sleeping during the journey. But my origin is lost."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods his head a bit to this and thinks for a moment "Can you do anything to make your ship carriable or able to hide it in any way? I can take you somewhere we can talk more, and see if we can figure anything out to help you, but leaving your ship here could be dangerous.

Minoke has posed:
Minoke frowns softly. "I do not know. The ship normaly has a cloak but it might be damaged." She tries and it shimmers, disappearing. "I came from far away, I know that for sure - avoiding detection is the name of the game. Don't worry, I can sense it." She gets out and a hissing sound happena as the hatch closes. "Are you a typical member of the native species? I... was under the impresison that the main native species was... different." She sighs softly. "I am only at fifty percent mass - the ion story irradiated the rest of what would be my body. but this is fine for now." When she exited the ship, she cracked the concrete sidewalk with her mass.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp shakes his head and says "No, I am a rather oddity. " He admits. The dominate species on earth are Homo-sapien and Homo-superior. But there are other races here on earth just a lot less common, luckily with the emergence of the Homo-superior, beings who do not look like the normal are a bit more accepted. If your wanting to look human." He pulls out his phone and cues up some youtube videos "They don't normally come in green by the way."

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods slowly as she studies the video, nodding slowly. "What is the normal height of these 'humans'?" she asks. "The scale is difficult to determine from the video. My best guess is abou 1.5 to 1.8 times my current height just by contextual clues." She holds her hand up at abou the right height. "like this?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and says "It can vary a bit but yea females are normally shorter than the males, but not always. Honestly humans come in a lot of shapes and sizes, as long as you don't go to extreme you won't get many looks and there are even some humans in the extremes."

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods. "What would you call what you are, and what I am emulating?" she asks as she walks around. "This place seems to be in ruins." She moves around, a bit awkwardly for she's not used to the chimpanzee body structure. "Is there some metal that would not be missed?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods a bit and says "I would take it from one of the smaller structures, things like the rollercoaster." He points to it "Might fall down if your taking any there, and I am a Chimpanzee, one of the Great Ape family, most of my kind can not speak." He does not clarify about a city of other apes.

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods as she heads over. "So you are one of the 'special' ones you discussed? This world seems complicated." She then touches some of the railing as it starts to melt, absorbing into Minoke as she shimmers, growing into a human-sized person with green skin and the third eye still. "Oh - right - this isn't human color..." She frowns, clicking her tongue. "I... have to figure out how to do that again." She looks over at you - she's wearing a basic tunic now and still no shoes, but is reasonably close to human other than skin tone. "Do people live on this island?" She turns to face Gotham at large - it glowing in the evening sky. "Or... that is a city..."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "It is both a city on an island, but yes, people live on it." He hmms and says "I can probably help with the color, but not to sound crude, can you do something about the third eye? If not if you can make your hair longer you might be able to hide it when you need to."

Minoke has posed:
Minoke just blinks. "Oh. Right." Her forehead shimmers and it disappears. "It was just a default state. I am a bit unsettled - I think that damage might affect me in other ways." She smiles softly. "What name do you prefer? You did give me two."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "Most call me Detective Chimp, it is sorta a description of my job and myself, and it works. Would you like to come back to my office, and talk a bit more?"

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods slowly. "I would. I need a recharge. The elecrical systems in my ship were damaged and I could use a boost." She looks around as she shimmers, as her hair is still green but her skin is more pale like the video shows (but still fiantly green). "After you."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks to her, and says "We will make a quick stop on the way, my office aint that far though." He will lead her along and stops at a little store along the way and says "Wait here a minute." He will go inside, and buys a few things before coming back out with a shopping bag to lead her on to his office.

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods slowly as she follows after you, looking around at everything. It being somewhat late, there isn't a lot of people, but as she passes by normal people, she tries to update her look with somewhat indifferent success. She looks a bit more human by the time you emerge from the shop as she glances down at the bag.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp takes her to his office, which looks a lot like one from an old detective novel, but with a few tech pieces like a flat screen tv, and a computer. There are two doors leading off, one to his one room apartment and one tot he restroom "Welcome to my home." He offers and motions to the couch "Have a seat."

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods slowly as she looks at the sofa after looking around. "Do you have a means to access electricity? I could use a charge." She gingerly sits on the couch, hopnig it won't break - it doesn't have much metal support in it - she's not sure waht's holding it together. "Thank you for bringing me here - it is very kind of you."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and says "A few ways." He offers and will walk over to unplug a lamp and says "Can you make something like this?" He shows her the end of it."

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods as she holds up two fingers as they morph into the plug shape. "Clever," she muses softly, the couch creaking as she moves, so she gets up. She then moves to sit on the floor by the plug and jacked in. She sighs softly. "That is some good alternating current..." she muses softly. "What is your job here? A 'detective' you said? You investigate things? Is that why you came to my ship?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and says "Make sure you take the electricity at a slow rate, it is a 120 watt outlet " He informs her, and says "Yes, I investigate things some normal some not so normal, but it is one of the things I am good at. You will need to work on learning english too, it is the language most of the people in this area speak the most frequently. There are a lot of languages on earth.

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods slowly. "But you are speaking my native language. I can learn the languages rapidly with minimal exposure." She ponders slowly. "Right - if I take too much I could cause issues with the power grid. No hurry." She then gazes at you. "If I was to think as to what my purpose is - the only thing that comes to mind is the word 'xenoanthropologist'." She sighs softly. "I wish I could remember more... I'm not supposed to forget ANYTHING." She shakes her head.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods a bit and says "Maybe you can rework you mind a bit, repair damaged areas?" He will open the bag, and pulls out a whole box of concealer. "You can use this to cover your skin tone if you need it to get it where it has no green tint"

Minoke has posed:
Minoke glances at it, staring at the stuff. "What is this?" she asks softly. "I'm supposed to be able to perfectly mimic the society I come in but I think that ion storm damage is causing me to not do it well." She opens the box, staring at the substance inside.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "It is makeup people here use it to hide blemishes on their skin, squeeze it softly get a little on your finger and rub it on your arm."

Minoke has posed:
Minoke just does what you say and rubs it on her arm, frowning slowly. "I do not understand..." she muses softly, staring at the patch on her arm. "It feels strange." She stares up at you, finally unplugging from your wall socket, then down at her arm again.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "It is sorta like a paint, you put powder on it I think so it aint as tacky but it is to hide the color if you need to." He also pulls out an I Heart Gotham shirt, and says "Would have got ya pants too, so you did not have to form them, but they did not have any for sell in the store"

Minoke has posed:
Minoke blinks as she looks at the clothing. "Is something wrong with the clothing I formed?" she asks. "Is it not the style?" she asks, tilting her head as she looks at the garment, confused. "Anyway. I suppose local garments would make the blending process better." She then asks, "Is there anyway I can compensate you for your time? I can shape metal as I wish..."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp shakes his head and says "Nothing really just figured might be easier, did not know if it uses more energy to keep the clothes you formed or what not." He offers her in explanation. "Nothing I need right now, but I will keep it ....When you shape metal can you make it stronger than it normally is?

Minoke has posed:
Minoke ponders your last question. "Not significantly, but I work at the molecular level. I can repair any unseen damage to the metal and make it good as new. It's the same process I use to form my body." She looks at the shirt. "What does this say?" she asks, gesturing to the shirt.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks over and says "I love Gotham, it is the name is the city here Gotham, mostly tourists would wear it, but it will explain why ya don't know much about around here, just have to be extra careful of muggers and such.,

Minoke has posed:
Minoke blinks as she slips it on - it's a bit loose but it does the job. "'Muggers'?" she asks blankly. "What is a 'mugger'?" she asks. She stands and looks at herself. "How does it look?" she asks curiously, still wearing constructed pants with the Gotham shirt above.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods a bit and says "It looks ok, it aint the eight of fashion, but it works, if you find you like clothes, we can figure something out to get ones you like. Mugging is when someone forcefully takes your stuff from you, threatening to hurt you while they do it."

Minoke has posed:
Minoke just nods slowly. "I am not worried." She holds her two fingers up, separated, and a bright arc of electricity jumps between them. "I don't just use electricity for keeping myself charge - I can use it in self-defense. And I have no possessions of value so... there is no point."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "Well folks don't know that, and we will need to figure out a way for you to get money as it is needed to do most things on earth. You said you work on the molecular level, can you change one metal to another?"

Minoke has posed:
Minoke shakes her head. "No. I rearrange the molecules - but I am not capable of changing one substance into another. A currency-based economy - I didn't think of things. I did see some people wearing various metals on their faces or ears while walking the streets with you... is that a common thing?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and says "Necklaces and earrings, yea folks like them, they can be made from many thing but precious metals are the most expensive ones.

Minoke has posed:
Minoke tilts her head. "Crafting those objects could be a source of currency, yes?" she asks softly, pondering. "That would be no problem." She nods slowly as she finally asks, "Do you live here, or is this just your office? I do not need much accomodation - just a corner where I won't be in the way."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and says "Yea, I live here, " He nods to the other door, I sleep in there, you can stay here for a while, maybe shore up the couch and sleep on it, or charge if you don't have to sleep

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods. "I do have a sleep mode. It's when I complile my findings and organize my files." She looks at the couch, then carefully lays on it again. "If I lay down on it it can handle me better. The strain is distributed throughout the structure." She smiles softly. "I am lucky you are the one to have found me. I would be so confused, not really knowing who I am or where I came from... thank you, Detective Chimp."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and says "Well, I am going to lay down." He walks over and turns on the tv and shows her how to work the remote "You can watch this and learn some maybe learn english not sure how fast you can process it, but remember most things on tv are for entertainment.

Minoke has posed:
Minoke nods as she flips through the channels, finding one that talks about local news. She settles down to watch it, to both learn about the world and study English. Once she assimilates the language, she'll retroactively understand the conversations as her eyes flicker all around. "Thank you again."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods and explains that one is news to her, before grabbing his booze from earlier and heading to bed.
