Synopsis: An almost date, or friends sharing a pie at one of the best places in town. Or was Rose just trying to build up the courage to face someone she disappointed? Friends help bolster the spirit.
Cast of Characters: Rose Wilson, Conner Kent

Rose Wilson has posed:
Well, pizza soothes the soul right? So an extra large pie with the works should do extreme wonders for the dynamic duo seated at one of the quieter tables.

Rose grins impishly and offers an aside to Connor, "I?m almost afraid of how fast the leftovers will vanish if they aren?t labeled." Her head turning absently as she gives the place another once over, scooching her seat a little more towards the wall to give a better view of the room in general and a wall at her back. "Should we be nice and bring back a whole pie, or just the leftovers after we're done?" A little wiggle in her seat as she settles something tucked behind her a bit more comfortably.

Conner Kent has posed:
"I am on the opinion the only good pizza is the one that got out of the over in the last two minutes," comments Conner between bites. "But it is not a popular opinion among time travellers or hungry bat-people with weird schedules that forgot to have lunch. Whatever thing that looks edible you leave around will vanish, label or not, even if it is still moving."

Really, they are barbarians. It is what happens when you leave a bunch of teenagers to grow up around and the only (and occasional) adult supervision are heavily armed mercenaries and grim vigilantes and the odd robot.

"Also, what leftovers?"

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson chuckles softly at that as she shakes her head silently for a moment. "I think you about nailed it there. And what is wrong with gritty mercs and robots? Some of my best pictures were while I was being a dirty merc, or a clean merc, or well.. Just a merc."

She reaches for a slice and folds it expertly in the New York way, the finger supporting the arch of the slice as she guides it in for a bite. Yep, not her first rodeo with this shop to be sure. She is oddly conscientious though as she doesn?t speak again until she has washed the bite down with a sip off her cola. "As for leftovers? Yeah, you have me there as well. A certain sneak that is quicker than the eye tends to get them before the bag even settles into the refrigerator." She purses her lips in though, one nail tapping lightly against her lower lip. "No, a snare trap might not be quick enough. And glue pads that would hold verse the friction are a bit out of my pocket money." She looks over as she adds, "And someone made me promise to not leave live grenades in my lunch bags anymore."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Right, we better eat it all before it goes cold," agrees Conner with a brief grin. "It was somewhat better when we had Ahab, the robot Tim built to serve as cook. But he never finds time to fix it. It got wrecked months ago." Along half the Roost. Everything else got fixed quickly, though.

"Anyway, Gotham has many good places to eat. And it is nice to have a chance to catch up with you," he decides, "last time we did something like this was... two years ago? Way too long. Are you settling back in Gotham well?"

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson makes solid inroads on her slice while you speak. Her head canting slightly as she listens and chews on the thought as well. "I can not promise not to poison everyone, but I can help with some cooking. Haven't always had the best access to eating out while working. And the MREs..." She makes a face like she bit into a sour orange. "They can use a bit of help, still." Her eye sweeping the room again as she leans a little closer and lowers her voice as if to keep things private. "Really I have been settling back in again. It is the reconnecting that has been going slow. Thinking that some folks forgot that I'm often employed to do things. Yourself? Settling in well still?"

Two yearsm has it really been that long? Hmm, well there was that job outside Cairo, then that stint in the Carpathians, then the stint down in Ecuador. She traces back through the jobs and teaching she has sought out and groans, "It really has been closer to three, I think. But Rumours of my death have bene greatly exagerated."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Heh, Laura has filled the cupboards with MREs," comments Conner, rolling his eyes. "Always prepared for the worst, just like Tim, only with more hand grenades and C4 packs. And bad food."

"Well, some times you visited," for a week or three. It was tempting to try to follow her, but probably counterproductive. He was often afraid to see her in the news, getting jailed in Iron Gate or Belle Reve.

"As for me, I will finish college next year, maybe even by the summer. It has been pretty great so far. Only this year I have had to really put a serious effort to keep a good GPA," he remembers Rose look when he told her he wanted to go to college back in 2020. Then again, he had never been interested in high school. "Finding a job as a reporter given the current state of the country will be hard, but hey, I can always migrate to Canada. Still closer then Hawaii."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson nods slightly to that as she mulls over the whole college thing. "IT is not a totally bad thing. I just think I have a bit too much of Pops in me still. Plus, the home work makes me want to put a bullet into something."

A soft chuckle escapes as she reaches for another slice, having nibbled the last down to the faintest of pizza bones. She lifts a hand and asks if she could get an order alfredo to dip her bones in.

Attention shifting back to you. "Well, I fear a lot of jobs could be difficult to get for the moment. Many of the usual hiring places for reporters are still staggering over the internet glut, aren't they?"

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner smirks when she mentions homework making her murderous. But then shakes her head. "It is mostly they are no independent at all," he tries to explain, "you need to report whatever the big corporation behind is selling. And it is usually bullshit. There are only a few real newspapers left. And webpages news sites that are truly independent don't have money to hire new people. I want to be reporter. I guess I could get a job in marketing or 'communications', but that would lead me to want to shoot something. With laser vision."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson grins again at that thought. "Ohhh.. so we just have to put you into a cubicle wired into a phone at some call center to bring about a doomsday effect reaction? Hmm.. I'll have to keep that in mind then. Could be an entertaining distraction." She dips one of her pizza bones into the sauce that was brought and looks from it to you and back, before nudging it over a little closer incase you want to splurge in calories as well. A small nip of the dipped part with a snap of teeth. "Sadly it does seem like the corperations have taken over the news outlets to a disturbing extent in the last..." She calculates dates in her head. "Decade?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"You are still super-evil," gasps Conner, with an expression of mock-horror at the idea of being trapped in a call center. Further proof: pizza with sauce. Although he can be convinced to join at that kind of evil.

"But yeah, corps are trying to kill the Fourth Power and politicians are delighted at the possibility. Local corruption is skyrocketing in many areas of the country. Like Gotham. Ten years or so?" He frowns, trying to calculate. "Well, it is getting worse since Luthor got into the White House. And it is not the kind of problem most supers can punch to."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson salutes with a pizza-bone, then dips it and makes a show of slowly licking the driipy sauce off the sides before nippingh through it in small delicate bites. Her expression one of, 'Well, duh.. Of course I'm Evil. I'm only on my first week back'.

She finally sighs and rests a hand on her stomach, "Ohh... I have a food baby." Then holds up a finger, "Don't tell anyone I said that 'B' word." A shudder rippling through her at the thought.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner stares... and then laughs. Evil indeed. "Okay, then," he finishes the last slice with a few hurried bites. "Lets go get some ice cream? Unless you are in a hurry to get back to the Roost, then I can drop you there right now. But I really should get back to New York before nightfall."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson mmms softly as she stretches, arching her back as if that is going to settle the half pizza she inhailed. "No, no.. I actually came out this way to check in with darker fam." She nods slightly towards there the Estate is set up not that far outside the doors of the shop. "I'm sure Tim let it drop that I was back in town. So I need to go make niceties. Besides, I think I owe Alfred a birthday card or two. But perhaps the tea I have stashed on my bike will make some headway into ammends for not writing." She actually looks down and colors slightly at the thought of upsetting the butler. Yep, she's REAL evil, mmm hmm.
