Synopsis: Dinah stops for coffee and meets Alice, who is more than she appears.
Cast of Characters: Alice Sinclaire, Dinah Lance

Alice Sinclaire has posed:
The Coffee Hut is open. Alice is there. She's beginning to think the whole employee situation in this company is a scam. The owner is rarely here, the manager is rarely here and often she's the only one working yet she gets paid the least. Then again, her degree means nothing while ever the government claims she's dead. Wearing her uniform of white blouse and red skirt, her hair tied back and out of the way, she's noticing a distinctly slow customer flow this morning.

Dinah Lance has posed:
There is the low rumble of an engine outside as a motorcycle approaches the Coffee Hut. It's been a long night for Black Canary, and right now Dinah needs coffee if she's going to open the flower shop in any sort of timely manner. She's still wearing the fishnets and bodysuit along with the leather jacket, although the mask is off.
Stepping into the coffee shop, Dinah just barely hits 5'6" in those biker heels. Not exactly what one would expect. The blonde runs gloved fingers through her tousled hair. The fishnets are torn in a couple places, but that's about all.
"Morning. I'll have a double espresso, please. And how're your pastries today?"

Alice Sinclaire has posed:
Alice isn't paid to look tired, so she does her best to be perky for all the pre-perky coffee customers. "You got it," she says in a cheerful tone and says, "Fresh from the bakery, croissants are especially delicious this morning. I had one myself for breakfast." She smiles and says, "It looks like you've been burning the candle at both ends." She peeks out the front door trying to get a glimpse of the bike she heard you pull up on. "What kind of bike do you own?" She turns away from Dinah as she makes the double espresso and leaves the money swiper out for her to pay. As she bends down to open a cupboard, what look to be strange purpley black leggings can be seen at her ankles.

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah leans an elbow on the counter, too tired to care that she's pushing out her tush towards anyone who happens by. She smiles wryly. "Yeah? You should've seen the other guys." Even in Gotham there aren't many who could break up a gang-fight without backup.
"It's a Triumph, actually. No model number, because I built it myself." The blonde reaches into her jacket pocket to produce a small card-wallet, swiping for the coffee. "Add a croissant to that, if you will. Interesting leggings, by the way."

Alice Sinclaire has posed:
Alice freezes a moment and then stands up and adjusts her skirt. "Mm." She gets the tongs and puts a croissant on a plate and then turns back to her skipping past the comment about her leggings. "Plural? you were in a street fight?" She shakes her head, "That's totally radical, Gotham is such a violent place." She places the coffee on the counter top and says, "You made your own motorcycle? wow! my uncle did that. He inspired me to learn things, but I never learnt engineering. Science buff here," she says and points a thumb at herself. "You must be very good at fighting... where is a good place to train in this city?"

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah leans more onto the counter as the conversation continues, both elbows resting now. A look at the black gloves shows them to be either padded or weighted, the leather comfortably worn. Her blonde hair is disheveled, but other than the torn fishnets there's not a scratch on her.
"I have a couple uncles who are into bikes. They taught me quite a lot." she replies. "There are a lotta places to work out in the city, but if you wanna learn how to take care of yourself I recommend Grant's Gym. I'm down there a lot. Just tell Ted that Dinah sent you, and he'll treat you right." Grant. Ted Grant. The former heavyweight champ?

Alice Sinclaire has posed:
She furrows her eyebrows a moment and tilts her head, "As in.. the guy in the Justice League? er, I mean, was in the Justice League." She jumps just a little quickly adding more, "Ages ago?" She presses her lips together and smiles to Dinah. "Fighting people can get real gnarly but living in Gotham, seems like a skill I should practice. My uncle used to do maintenance on bikes in the war and he just kept on doing it after he retired from the corps. He was one of those guys who signed himself up when he was below the age limits."

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah chuckles softly at that, nodding slowly. "I wouldn't tell HIM it was ages ago, but yeah. Ted's still got probably the fastest hands and the deadliest reach of anyone on the Eastern seaboard. But you don't need to be a bruiser to know how to take care of yourself. Stop by the gym and I'll show you some self-defense basics."
"Your uncle worked on bikes in the war? That's when they made bikes to last, not all these rice-burner crotch-rockets."

Alice Sinclaire has posed:
Alice grins, "That's great. I remember him on the tv, I used to have trading cards. My brother insisted they were his and kept trying to take them back. I'm pretty sure I had one for him. Ah, but yeah anyway. I'd appreciate it. I don't think my usual tactics are going to be a good idea in this city. Besides, I just have to wait for Batman to turn up right?" She smirks playfully, not being serious. "Have you ever seen any superheroes or vigilantes? Heck, you fought off multiple people last night, which is bogus by the way, so you are basically a superhero in my books."

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah grins, chuckling softly. "Yeah, I've seen one or two vigilantes around, myself. But don't let someone's size or appearance fool you. And if you watch the news, there *may* be a little spot about a gang fight in Coventry last night. Just sayin'." She pauses, then adds. "Lemme give you a freebie. Hold out your hand for me..."

Alice Sinclaire has posed:
Alice raises an eyebrow, the small healed over cut segmenting the eyebrow in two. It's easy to guess she's been on the receiving end of more than one fight herself. She holds out her hand, "Well now you have me intrigued. I'll definitely be watching the news. Is Coventry usually a dangerous place?," she asks considering where she might go urban exploring tonight.. perhaps Coventry.

Dinah Lance has posed:
"They didn't call it No Man's Land without good reason." Dinah replies. She looks at the hand, then. "Suppose someone grabs you from behind, then. If you can reach his hand, all you need to know are a few pressure points." She cradles the back of Alice's hand in a gloved palm, then uses the other to deliberately explore the girl's thumb. "I'll do it lightly, but you get the idea." Grasping the thumb, she squeezes *just so* with a little pressure, and Alice can feel the pain start to spike before Dinah releases it. "You get a hold of a guy just right, and you'll have him on his knees sobbing like a little baby."

Alice Sinclaire has posed:
Alice learnt a lot of martial arts growing up. She spent many years applying them for survival purposes too. But she never learnt how to find nerves and pressure points like that. Even the little pressure takes her by surprise, even with the fair warning that it was coming. She is at once there, hand in Dinah's, then suddenly a foot back from her, pulling her hand away. She absolutely teleporting just then, but it was so instantaneous it might take a few moments to mentally register that that's what happened. Alice looks a touch mortified and tucks her hand behind her back. There's a distinctly awkward silence as Alice isn't quite sure what to say about what she just did, silently hoping Dinah thinks she just pulled her hand back really quickly.

Dinah Lance has posed:
Dinah tilts her head when Alice just teleports back, and when the mortified girl looks back the blonde is giving her a knowing smile. The awkward silence settles for a moment, and there's no doubt from Dinah's expression that she KNOWS. Without a word, she reaches into her leather jacket and drops a black mask on the counter. Just in case her outfit alone didn't scream 'Vigilante'.
Picking up the mask to tuck it away, a gloved finger touches her lips in a silent 'shhhh' motion. With an added wink. "So like I said, pop on down to Grant's Gym sometime. I've *heard* that some of the best in the world train down there..."
She pauses, then adds. "And thanks for the coffee, kid."

Alice Sinclaire has posed:
Alice's mouth drops open as she looks down at the mask. Briefly there, then hidden away. She lifts a finger and shuts her mouth, then lowers it. "Yeah.." she furrows her brow in confusion. "Kid.. heh," she murmurs to herself and heads in to the back to erase some of the security footage. It's not like anyone ever checks it anyway but better to be safe than sorry.
