Roomies
Date of Scene: 05 October 2022
Location: Rhona and Sasha's Dormroom
Synopsis: Rhona and Sasha meet for the first time in their dorm room. Typical mirth and mayhem insue.
Cast of Characters: Rhona Lauren, Sasha Moore

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Right as the school year started, Rhona got called back to England for the Queen's funeral. She hadn't expected that, at all, even with the Queen's advanced age... All the same, she'd been gone for a few weeks now, but was coming back tonight.

Right now in fact. The young woman moves through the halls, with a backpack on, dragging behind her a rolling luggage suitcase. She pauses outside her dorm room and knocks on it, then tests the handle and moves to step inside. Wearing her hair up in a bune, locks loose around her face, the brunette strides in, wearing a black light jacket, over a red scoop necked shirt, she has a black leather choker around her throat, and a pair of blue jeans with a black belt trimmed with silver metal studs. She moves her large brown eyes around the room after opening the door up. "Anyone home?" The Briton asks...

Sasha Moore has posed:
Anyone is home. "Yeah.." Anyone, whose name is Sasha, has only just unpacked her things after being moved in a week ago. Her things is a bit of an overstatement though because she doesn't really have a whole lot of nothing.. Some comics, a few movies, and an old MP3 player (as if people even use those things anymore right?), that doesn't even seem to work.

She's sitting on the bed looking out of place. And looking around at what they tell her is her space when Rhona steps inside. She'd been told she had a roommate who would be back eventually, "You must be the roommate." She murmurs in a southern accented voice. Fidgeting at the thread bare seam of her t-shirt. Her hair is long to her shoulders, but shaved underneath, and worn in a high ponytail that shows off the stubbly sides of her scalp.

"I'm Sasha. I guess we live together or whatever."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona parks her luggage inside the door, and lets it mostly close behind her. She turns then to the girl on her bed and shows her a soft grin, and a little single nod, one hand up on the shoulder strap of her left bag strap. "It would seem so." She says in a arguably snooty accent and style, that classical London snob sound.

"I .. like your hair." Rhona says, motioning then toward the girl before she steps toward her and offer her her right hand, wearing a Apple iWatch on her wrist. "Rhona, Lauren. I just got back from a rather unexpected trip back home..." She offers with a nervously soft smile. "It is lovely to get to meet you, Sasha."

Sasha Moore has posed:
Sasha keeps tugging at her shirt, which is at least a size too big for her, as if it's too tight. Nervous habit, repetition of motion. Anxiety. Wait until she starts pulling the threads. "Mmhmm.." She murmurs, looking down at her pants. Look like yoga pants, the kind one gets from a goodwill, that probably have had a lot of yoga done in them before they were bought.

The crotch stains probably aren't hers.

There's no crotch stains... that'd be gross.

"Thanks." She reaches up to brush her fingers tips, each painted in chipping black polish, "I did it myself. Was going to dye it, but I got caught stealing the hair dye." A tight, forced, smile at the pleasantries, again looking down at her lap. "Sasha Moore."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona lowers her hand then down to her side again. She shows a light grin at the other's words. "Oh really?" She inquires. "Well, that's unfortunate..." She waits a moment before she starts to pull her arms out of the backpack straps, as she walks toward her bed of the two in the room.

"What color were you going to dye it?" She asks then before kicking one foot up to drape it over the bed and drop down to sit on the edge of it, her hands now going to the top of her thighs, her blue jeans looking new, and purposefully ripped open at the knees, like the kind you buy ripped...

"We could go by the store later if you'd like? I need to get a few things now that I'm back."

Does she have a car?

"I'd be happy to pitch in for your dye. Call it a welcoming new roommate present."

Sasha Moore has posed:
"Purple." Sasha says of her hair, waving up to it with flickering fingers and a shifty eye glance at Rhona. Keeping tabs on where she is, but not in a suspicious way.. at least not overtly suspicious. This is still a new place for her. She doesn't wear any makeup and she's rather plain looking for it. Not a girl who was blessed with a great deal of beauty by birth, though she's not necessarily ugly.

Just plain.

"That'd be cool, but ... it's okay. I don't have a job or money right now. Got fired from my last... it was a whole thing." She's speaking quietly, lips quirking side to side, "But yeah.. Anyways. If you want." She clears her throat and rolls her shoulders, "Fuck I hate getting to know people. It's so fucking awkward."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona is wearing makeup. The perfect amount too. The kind of makeup that looks like she's studying how to do it professionally, or just watches a lot of Youtube channels. With dusky red lipstick, and black eyeliner around her dark brows, her hair up in a very nice bun... it all accentuates her natural attractiveness. She is a pretty girl, though she doesn't look 'girly-per-se, more like just a toned-down version of what Sasha was going for, or like a 'poser' so to speak.

She laughs a little at what the other says then, and nods her head. "I uh... well. My parents give me money every month, so that I'll be taken care, of I guess. More-so, so that I leave them alone, I think... I mean, I need to get a new job myself too, but mostly cause I just feel weird here. Being in a whole new country, don't know a damn soul except for the teachers I spoke to a few times before having to leave again... It's... awkward."

She moves to dig her phone out of the side of her bag then. "Do you have a phone number? We should probably share, so that we can communicate with each other, or... whatever..."

Sasha Moore has posed:
Isn't one of those punk girls who hates everything beautiful or anything.

Sasha came by her style the hardway. She'd be more likely to call someone slumming down in goodwill clothes a poser, than Rhona. Grinning through the little cant of her head, she looks over at Rhona and shrugs. "I hear Burger Joint is hiring.. I'm pretty sure they hire only people from the school too."

"At least that's what I heard."

Then she asks about phone numbers and Sasha nods, reaching for her phone on the table. It's not the latest model or anything, but they hand out smartphones to people these days. Not terribly hard to pay for a basic plan either! "Here, let me just air-drop it too you." Sending it to everyone within a few feet of her. She tosses the phone back on the bed.

"So can we just cut the awkwardness or something? You smoke pot?"

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona grins at the talk of Burger Joint. "Yeah... I saw that place. I was going to try all the non-food places first though, like the hotel. I thought it'd be kinda alright to work at the front desk, if they'd hire a 17 year old... Maybe the golf course too. Maybe drive one of those carts around with the cages, and get hit by all the balls flying around." She grins then and shakes her head.

Her phone is a brand new iPhone, looks like it's fresh out of the damn box. It pings when the number hits, and she sends hers back. "Got it. Awesome..." She quietly says with a few finger swipes before the last question has her laughing softly. "Yeah. I like weed. Edibles especially... I don't do really any drinking though, or any harder drugs. But weed is totally ... you know... like, a good way to relax and stare at the sky... sunsets and such." She says with a little grin.

"Do you have any?" She asks then. "I know a couple guys in town who offered me some. We could hit them up sometime, see if they are legit..."

Sasha Moore has posed:
"I'd be pretty dope at a front desk job." Sasha says with a smirk, "Mostly I'd just make fun of people, though..." She really wouldn't, not really. That's someone elses gig. "Want to go and get a job somewhere together? At least then we know someone who works there, right?"

That's an easy way to make friends.

"Uhhh I've done some edibles, yeah. They always make me catitonic though. I prefer the old-school way, ya know? I'll make us a gravity bong." Bobbing her head and looking around. "Just have to afro engineer one up."

Because she's sliding off the bed and heading towards the small bag sitting beneath the corner of her bed. She kneels down and pulls out a bag of weed, it's not a whole lot, but it'd be enough to get them both pretty fucking stoned.

Rhona Lauren has posed:
The offer of a co-jobbing has Rhona showing a grin. "We can certainly try to, yeah. I was gonna hit up the cinema in town as well..." She says while her eyes go to her bag to unzip it and start to pull some stuff out that she had on her trip, including a tablet computer, a couple hats, and some bags of snack foods. She starts to pull her jacket off then when she sees the bag of weed produced, which has her eyes widening. "Wow. You already have some?" She asks. "Nice." A grin is shown then, like this had genuinely surprised her. "You have some bravado in you. I was too afraid to even consider bringing it in to the school." She notes, her eyes darting to the door before she gets up to walk over and actually close it shut. "What with the 'mind games', I hear that they do." She states, turning around then to put her back against the door.

Sasha Moore has posed:
"They knew who I was when they brought me here." Sasha says, fishing the baggie out and tossing it up on the bed. "I don't know about all the mind games stuff though, that seems like some nonsense. Who would run a school with children if they were going fishing around in their skulls? All hopped up on hormones and goofballs." She shakes her head and snorts, "Nobody wants that kind of drama..."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona grabs her luggage then and wheels it over to the dresser on her side of the room. She grins at what the other says, glancing over at her while she picks her suitcase up to sit it on top of the dresser, where she unzips it open and starts to rummage through the inside with all her clothing neatly packed. "I think you're going to be quite interesting of a roommate, Sasha." She says with humor lacing her voice. She starts to put away some of her things then, opening drawers and sliding some of the items in.

"So like... do you have any things you'd like me to not do as a roommate?" She inquires next. "I tend to listen to some music at night before bed, but I can use earbuds if you'd prefer not to listen to my crap." One of the drawers is closed, and another is slid open...

"Also, I totally snore like a chainsaw. Fair warning." She says before smiling back at her. "I'm only kidding... I think."

Sasha Moore has posed:
"Uh, put a bra on the door if you're getting special time?" Sasha says with a shrug, "I've lived in a squatter apartment with a bunch of people since I was sixteen... so really, nothing bothers me." She says with a laugh and another shrug. "I mostly just hole up in a corner, so having a whole side of the room is... new." ish. She did have a home once.

"Haha... don't even bother me, actually. This guy, Lou, he use to snore so loud he could wake the dead. I put in my earbuds and drifted off. After a while, I couldn't imagine not listening to his cow mewling." A grin on her face, she's busily rolling a little joint on a book... likely one of her new books for classes... while talking.

"Seriously, I'm pretty easy to get along with."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona smirks at the bra bit just as she's putting some clothing away of that very make, and design. "We'll see about that. I'm not sure I've met anyone here that I'd likely even consider such things with." She admits in a grimly toned voice before she picks the luggage up again and carries it over to the walk-in closet where she sets it down on a shelf just inside the door. She starts to hang some stuff up just inside the closet.

"So you've had quite a life then?" She asks from within it. "Is this going to be a rather large change for you overall then?" She asks, glancing back out of the closet as she unfolds a dress that she starts to hang up also.

"It's pretty basic for me, not to sounds terribly awful. This is my second boarding school. The first was in London, but I... got expelled from that one..."

Sasha Moore has posed:
"Yeah, I mean yourself too. I don't need to walk in on you going to BOB." Sasha says with a laugh, running her tongue across the flap of the joint, which she folds over and wets by pulling back between her lips. It's a pretty joint, if not very big. She didn't have THAT much weed.

"uhh yeah.. pretty big change." Quiet voice, looking around and fidgeting a little. "I've been homeless since I was .. maybe a little older than sixteen?" She shakes her head and laughs. "Parents weren't all that great at acceptance." Which doesn't seem to phase her, but is probably more her pretending it doesn't phase her.

She's still a kid. She's not hard to the world yet.

Not entirely.

"I still tried to go to school though. It got complicated, but I tried." Joint held out to Rhona.

Rhona Lauren has posed:
A few more things are put away, including some fancy dress shoes before she abandons the closet and walks out with a grin. "Right. Yeah. I usually do that in the shower." She admits with a little laugh before she drops back down on her bed and starts to root around in her backpack again. She pulls out a bag of pretzels and opens it up to take one out and pop it in her mouth. Her eyes go over to watch the girl make that joint, and she nods softly to what she says. "I'm glad you've made it here. I got here, originally, back in June... I spent the summer getting to know some of the people. They're all really nice. Though... there is a Vampire girl here. She goes out at night, around the lake. Be careful with her. I think she's a little off..."

Trying to relate then, Rhona speaks up once more. "My parents always just ignored me, in favor of their fancy parties, and trips around the social circles they adore. Once they found out I was a mutant, well... here I am... I guess."

Sasha Moore has posed:
Sasha smirks and shakes her head at Rhona, "Whatever rows your boat ashore, baby-cakes." She sets the joint down on the table when it's not taken, not really in any rush to smoke it right now anyways. They've got time. "... wait hold on... did you say a Vampire?" her face squints and twists some. "You mean like some kind of mutant shit?"

Not an actual vampire because that would be TOO CRAZY.

Even for someone with magical genetic powers.

Then she goes quiet and nods. Listening to Rhona's explanation of how she got here, "Love you unconditionally, unless the condition is different from what they think is conditional..." She up nods and snorts, "Parents suck."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
Rhona crinkles that bag of pretzels quietly as she watches Sash set that joint up on the tables between their beds. "Yeah... things are a little different overseas, than they are here. Here, everything seems so... fluid. Like if you step outside you won't know if you're about to run in to a Mutant pride parade, or about to run in to a ... army of robots come to kill you. I'm not sure, it's hard to explain, things just seem so much more straight forward back home. Mutants aren't liked, widely there. It's what got me kicked out of my first boarding school. It was supposed to be a place to 'train mutants to be normal' but... yeah, didn't turn out that way."

She frowns and tucks a strand of dark hair back behind her ear. She smirks then over to Sasha and offers her the bag of pretzels. "And yeah, a real Vampire. I don't think it's mutant stuff, from what I've heard. She was a former student, who got turned, and they've been... just... dealin' with it. Domesticating her... I guess."

Sasha Moore has posed:
It's clear she hasn't really eaten, but Sasha tries not to seem too eager about reaching out for the pretzels. She's still not use to having food on demand, even though she's been here for a week now. Still, she grabs a few and takes her time eating them. Nodding along with what Rhona says, "That's because people in America re self righteous fuck holes."

"you can quote me."

With a grin.

She pops another pretzel in her mouth and squints, "I guess that makes sense? Like, obstensibly, why wouldn't a school that houses mutants not house a vampire if that vampire use to be a mutant or... like is still a mutant, but is also a vammpire.. a vampire mutant..." She squints more.

"Dark days."

Rhona Lauren has posed:
"Keep it." Rhona says of the bag. "I got like three other things here. I never know what I'll want on a seven hour planet ride, so I buy like six different options." She says with a grin before standing up and gathering some of her things up to take it over to her desk. She starts to put the tablet away, along with her hats that get draped over the top of the desk, and her phone charger that she tucks in to the USB outlet on the back of the desk. Her bag is left there then as she takes a bottle of water out of it.

"I think I'm gonna go check on my car though. I've kinda missed it since being gone. It's the ... best thing my parents have ever gotten me, and I want to make sure it hasn't been... you know, broken in to or whatever. There's some shady types here, after all. Vampires and more." She states with a grin to Sasha.

"You want to come with? We can make that trip to the store, pick up some stuff." She looks around Sasha's side of the room and sees a suspicious lack of... anything. It makes her feel kind of weird.

"We can see what kind of goodies we can get for ourselves, yeah?" She asks, not wanting to sound like she's being a charity for the other girl.

Sasha Moore has posed:
Once she's been given leave, Sasha stashes the pretzels away like a squirrel who isn't sure when winter is coming. Grinning as she slides down off the bed and straightens her shirt, "Sure. You've got wheels? That'll make getting around a lot easier.." She wasn't sure how she was going to get behind running everywhere, even with her warping, that could have been a long trip to get to any place.

"I think we're going to have a lot of fun, Rhona."

Hands in her pockets, she grabs her baseball hat off the table and puts it on her head with the ponytail pulled through the back. "Let's go see this car! And go get road beers... or just snacks, whatever works."
