Synopsis: Daredevil comes home from a fight and falls down the stairs. Daisy is there to help him and not be too upset at the beating he took.
Cast of Characters: Matthew Murdock, Daisy Johnson

Matthew Murdock has posed:
It is fairly late at night, an hour or two past midnight. The door that leads out to the roof opens. Usually Matt enters reasonably quietly, especially at such a late hour. So when the door swings all the way to hit the door stop hard enough to make a noise, it might serve as foreshadowing that isn't a usual entrance.

Wearing his Daredevil costume, Matt comes down the stairs slowly, using the handrail for support. His footsteps are unsteady. There's obvious bruising on his face and blood leaking down from his nose beneath the mask.

He makes it about seven stairs, but after that good luck number, the eighth trips him up literally. Or more accurately, his wounds do, and he falls down the rest of the stairs to land at the bottom of them.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
With it being 1 or 2am it means that the on to receive Matt when he's back from one of his adventures is Director Furry instead of Daisy. Is she home? Most likely, in bed. The cat makes it's way to the stairs, curious, tail swishing and looking up at Daredevil moving down the stairs...

... And for all that cats are constantly hungry it usually stays fairly silent. Maybe knowing that this Daredevil has it's secrets and doesn't need to be announced to the world. Or at least until the cat notes the man tripping down and falling to the floor beneath. It steps aside, letting out a vibrational meow which alerts Daisy, making her get up to her feet.

"Matt?" Her voice is heard from the room before her form comes into shape in the corridor, tight shorts and a t-shirt.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Normally Matt would have noted where Daisy and Boxer were soon as he entered at the top of the stairs. If not before. Though he was focused enough on just moving forward that it isn't until Boxer comes over and paws at his shoulder that he's aware the cat is there. And then the footsteps of Daisy's before she speaks his name.

"Good... boy..." Matt manages, moving his hand to the cat. Or intending too, but it just kind of shifts a few inches then protests so he lets it lie where it is.

The scent and sound of Daisy coming through the doorway from the bedroom are noted. Matt lifts his fingers to simulate a wave while leaving his arm lying there. "Hey baby," he says quietly. "I'm home."

He gives a quiet groan and then gathers some will to get his arm moving. Pushing it up his body until he can grasp his mask and remove it.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The question in Daisy's sleep voice turns into an alarmed one when she notes Matt's condition, "Matt!" she rushes over to his side to hold his head up and even if there's a temptation to 'hit' Matt at the quip about 'being home' she refrains from such. "Yes, I can see that. Is this the part you tell me that I should see the condition on the other guy?" sarcasm. But also worry.

She keeps one hand on his back, offering support while the other checks his face, helping remove that mask.

"Any cuts? We need to get you out of that armor. Carefully." Not even missing a beat. Daisy is getting used to this by now. Tending to an injured Matt. He does the same to her when she comes beat up from a mission too after all.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt doesn't so much accept Daisy's help getting the mask off, as let her take over. "Nah. I mean, not like I could see him either," Matt replies as Daisy sets him up for the blind joke.

"No, mainly some bullets that I don't think made it through the armor. A crow bar. There was a chair, I think. And a mini-van. Sounded like a Dodge. Which unfortunately, I failed to do." Nothing like pain to sharpen one's sense of humor for the benefit of a loved one.

Matt clears his throat. "How're you? Was work good?" he asks. His hand finds her and gently squeezes.

The injuries sound the sort that he can probably heal in a day or so if he's able to do his meditation thing she's seen him do.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
That does it. A blind joke?! There's a very faint poke on his side just for good measure. This after she makes sure it's not a bruised part at least. It's perhaps a good thing that Matt can't see her huffing expression right now. But it's felt, Matt. It's FELT.

"Oh, good. Means you skipped the door and the explosives this time around." She jokes in return. "Improvement." and with Matt letting her take over she takes him over to the couch to let him sit there and she begins getting those pieces of armor out. The upper one, then boots. She lets out a sigh, "I suppose I shouldn't talk much considering how I sometimes come home.." she rests her hand against Matt's forehead, warmth there before the cool touch of a wet towel is on his head, cleaning some of the sweat and blood. Carefully.

"Work was ..." She pauses, "I suppose we will have to talk later when you are feeling better." because how to broach about having discovered she had a sister?

"Melvin is going to have a field day with your armor after he sees the condition of it.." She tells him, perhaps trying to lighten the mood yet she can't really hide the tension and worry from Matt anymore than she can hide her love for him.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Does his best to not grimace too much as Daisy helps him up and over to the couch. For her benefit of course. "Thanks," his soft, deep voice says as she gets him seated and begins helping him out of the costume and body armor it contains.

"Yes," Matt replies somberly about Melvin. "Sometimes I can't tell if he's more upset that it needs fixing. Or more happy that he gets to work on it," Matt says quietly.

The man's hand reaches over to Daisy, starting on her shoulder and then moving up to softly cup her face. He leans forward, resting his forehead against hers. "I'm ok, Daisy," he tells her softly. "And there's a group of freed women at the Shared Hope shelter, and a group of men in a NYPD van who won't be exploiting women again anytime soon." He presses a tender kiss to her lips. "A few bumps and bruises as a cost?" he says, slightly understating the impact on him perhaps, but not the outcome of the balance. "Well worth it."

He lets out a sigh, forehead back to Daisy's. "Coming home to you is so much nicer than going through this alone. I'm sorry I put you through it though. Thank you for understanding why I have to."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
If anything Daisy is delicate while stripping Matt out of that armor, it all being a process she is used to by now. She watches and assesses those wounds in the same way that Matt will be able to feel her vibrations spreading within, sensing those same injuries, she taking stock on the severity of it. When she has done her thorough search is when she finally announces. "You will live."

Was that ever in doubt?!

Then a smile, followed by an exhale of breath. "It's what we do." She tells him. "Fighting for those who can't defend themselves, making the world a better place one night at a time." Yes, she very much understands Matt in why he goes out at night. Everyone must do what they can to make the world a better place.

"But what you can tell is that you will never have to be sorry for anything you do." She smiling back at him, forehead to forehead. "Only for your horrible blind jokes. Those you'd better be sorry for." she warns him with a bit of a teasing touch to her before placing a quiet kiss to his lips.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The soft kiss is shared, Matt letting out a comforted sigh. He's bruised and battered and just walking is a struggle. But he's happy with Daisy there with him. Matt draws a slow, deep breath that fills his head with Daisy's scent. Another sigh result, this one very contented.

"I'd make some... utterly inappropriate comment about how little I'm wearing and where it could lead. But I might be afraid you'd take me up on it," he says. His fingers move to brush softly along the back of Daisy's neck. "Want to help me up and into the bedroom? I can meditate on the bed beside you while you sleep," he tells her.

A soft mewl is sounded. Maybe one of complaint. "Yes, you can sleep there too," Matt tells Boxer who has been standing on the floor watching them.
