Discordants: Red Arrow Briefed
Date of Scene: 26 October 2022
Location: Asgardian Embassy
Synopsis: Sif fills in Thea on details. Thea volunteers to question Korek.
Cast of Characters: Sif, Thea Queen

Sif has posed:
The parlor area was familiar to those who had helped find the various artifacts across the nine realms. The group had often met in that room, to discuss what was happening. There were various seats and Thor had often sat in a specific one. There was also a table by the window with two chairs. A drink cart was ever present, stocked with a range of options. There was also a small spread of meats, cheeses, finger foods of various types from Asgard and Midgard.

Sif was there, sitting in one of the chairs by the window, at that small table. She was looking off into the distance but not truly focusing on any point. Instead, she is seeing the past. The events that had transpired. Over and over, trying to put details together.

She had sent a message to Thea, asking the archer to meet her at the Embassy at her convenience.

Thea Queen has posed:
It hadn't been the first time she had been on this room so once Thea got the request to meet at the Embassy she knew where to look. Dressed as the Arrow? No, she comes as Thea, plain clothes without much of a flair to them. Like Sif she's not exactly in a festive mood. In fact it'd be hard to tell if she has slept much at all last few days considering how tired her eyes look which she expertly tried to cover with a fair amount of kohl.

She pads quietly into the room, quick look around and then closing the door behind her, eyes falling on the Asgardian. Does she know what she is looking at? She might have an inkling, she has done much the same as of late. Trying to figure out what went wrong. How Korek got past their defenses. Where Thor was sent by Malekith...

"Sif." she says in a quiet manner, approaching the other woman.

Sif has posed:
As soon as she heard the door move, Sif turned her head sharply that direction. Much like the others, her sleep has been lacking of late. Thus there are dark circles under her eyes. She is dressed fully in her armor, sword at her side. Her cloak is laid across a nearby chair instead of being worn though.

"Thea Queen. It is good to see you, though the circumstances are not." She motioned to the food spread on the table and the drink cart. "Please, enjoy if you wish."

She took a slow breath, letting it out slowly. Then she started into the explanation. "You are aware we have lost Thor. We believe he may be in Valhalla but as was pointed out, the lack of body leaves questions. I have spoke with Jane Foster and Zatanna Zatara, as well. We have come up with a course of action and I wished all to be informed."

Thea Queen has posed:
"No, they are not." Bit of an understatement perhaps. But how can someone talk about what happened without it all feeling like an understatement of what transpired. At least for Thea, who is but human. She does approach though.

And then rests one hand atop Sif's armored shoulder for a moment. No big hugs or comforting words. Just a reminder that Thea is there for whatever the Asgardian may need. The hand goes back to her side and she considers the words spoken.

"Valhalla?" That has Thea furrow her brows, "Perhaps Vintridr could assist with knowing for sure." she suggests. Wrapping her arms together she then continues, "What have you decided?"

Sif has posed:
At the touch on her shoulder, Sif turns her head away. She closes her eyes tightly and takes a moment. When she is certain she has emotions fully under control, she turns back to the young woman.

"We are going to Niflheim." Which she lets sit there in the air for a moment before she continues. "We will confirm if he is present in Valhalla or Hel. If he is not, we will approach this as him missing instead. For there are difficulties in Asgard as Odin has fallen into his Odinsleep. We know not when he may wake. Prince Loki is seeing to the realm for now but more permanent steps will need to be taken dependent on findings."

King Loki. Just let that sink in for a bit.

"Both Jane Foster and Zatara Zatanna wish to be present for the trip. We will also be following up with Alfheim due to the ring that was the catalyst for the spell being usurped by Malekith." Not the ring Thea had. This was a different one that Thor had been given by someone. They had their suspicions.

Thea Queen has posed:
If one tragedy wasn't enough and now Sif is talking about Odin being asleep and....

King Loki. Yep, Thea is letting that sink in for a moment ..., or three. Her eyes are a bit wide at the news. For a moment she considers commenting or asking if this may have been a plot out of the younger brother but ..., no. He could not do it, could he? So she shakes her head off it. Yet after that last betrayal from Korek she was finding it hard to consider anyone to have any good intentions. Specially when they had been known for villainy in the past.

"Nifleheim.." She nods sharply at it but then her focus is on that ring. "What ring was it? Given at Alfheim?" she wonders. She had been there at the time so she frowns in thought at it. "And you can count on my aid as needed." a pause, followed by one hand brushing hair behind her ear. An hesitation and then she asks. "I would want to interrogate Korek. He was captured, was he not?" she asks.

She was carefully trying not to sound angry.

Sif has posed:
"I trust Loki to have Asgard's best interests in his heart," Sif offered, making sure that it is known she is trusting in the Prince. She saw his face, saw the devastation at the loss of Odin and Thor. Though he was the one to suggest no body might mean Thor was still alive somewhere. Perhaps he was captured. "He would like to speak to those who were present, to look at their memories at the battle, to see if he might see something to help us figure out what happened." It's up to Thea if she would even want to have that sort of meeting.

"During the spell, there was a ring that Thor had on his person that was pulled into it. He passed it over as we began the battle. I saw it had script of the Light Elves. Zatanna Zatara has since shared what was displayed and it read 'Beyond Winter'. I suspect it was a gift from the Queen, a token of her affection perhaps. They should be our allies and they have no love of the Dark Elves so it is a mystery that must be solved. A visit to them to speak to the Queen is our next step."

At mention of Korek, Sif's expression goes very dark. No attempt to hide her contempt. "Someone should. I cannot or I will put my sword through his throat."

Thea Queen has posed:
If Sif trusts him then ..., Thea might. Maybe. Unsure. It's still hard for her to get through the resentment but there's a sharp nod. "I will go meet him." she says without hesitation. "If anything I wish to help in getting through this mystery, regardless of any personal feelings I might have on it. Priority should be on finding what happened to Thor. And rescuing him." ever the hopeful, believing Thor will be -somewhere-.

"Beyong Winter.." Thea echoes those words, lips jerking to the side as she thinks on it, "When we were there the elves were nothing but cordial.." she says, "And Teagan himself helped us by providing me and Lara bows when we were weaponless during the celebration." though not as if the Queen was there herself. But she makes no comment on -that- part.

"Do you think he may have been on with this Malekith? Or working alone?" she suspects the latter but she's been wrong in the past in numerous occasions.

A pause and then she finally asks. "And how are -you-?" she doesn't seem to be asking the warrior, but her friend.

Sif has posed:
"I do not know what to think. The Queen was in Winter when we departed Alfheim. Thus, I feel she may have the answer for us. I do not know if anyone else knows where the ring came from. But if they were in on a plot? I hope not. For that would be very bad for Alfheim." As close as she's coming to a threat.

"As for Korek, I suspect he was assisting Malekith though I am unsure. I know not why he attacked Dorin, why he took Frikke's place. So many questions. But my anger toward him is high, as is my anger toward the Queen. Though having no answers, I have no true grounds for my anger."

Which leads to that question about her own well being. "I am focusing on tasks. Steps to be taken. To keep my mind away from the darkness of loss. Thor has been my friend for millennia. I do not know how to move beyond."

Thea Queen has posed:
"I will get answers from him." Thea says in assurance back to Sif. They both needed them. And to be honest she wasn't even sure if she could stay her own rage when next to him. Of course that she doesn't have the ability to kill Korek with her own hands the same way Sif does but ... "He's staying in Asgard I suppose?", a beat, "Maybe when I go talk with Loki I can meet Korek too.." she lets out a sigh, resting an hip against the edge of a table. Food and drinks forgotten.

She knows how it is too. Focusing on work. Focusing on keeping the mind occupied so the loss is felt as hard as it could. She had went through something similar with her brother. Eventually having led her to drinking and drugs. "This can't be the end of Thor's saga." she says. "He's a legend. He will be back. Either by his own foot or dragged back by us." a faint smile offered at Sif.

Sif has posed:
"Aye, he is in Asgard's dungeon. Loki will be able to arrange for you to speak to him. Let me know if you wish for guards to be present, to keep you from leaping into the cell to throttle him," Sif adds, almost smiling but it never reaches her eyes. She tried to make a joke but sadly failed.

"If we find Thor in Valhalla, he will be given the choice. But if he is in Hel? Woe be to anyone who tries to keep me from bringing him back."

Between Alfheim and Niflheim, Sif might be starting even more wars on top of that with Svartalfheim.

Thea Queen has posed:
"I have no doubt in my mind you'd drag him right back out of Hel." Thea says with a near ferocious grin to her expression. She can even picture it already in her mind. Easily enough. "My bow will be ready when that journey is to be taken."

As for throttling Korek? She smiles as well but it also doesn't reach her eyes. She probably just pictures doing a lot more than just throtting him. Maybe she will have to go without any weapons or sharp objects...

"I should be on my way. We'll catch up later, and don't be a stranger, come by the Verdant. Regardless, I will tell you how the meet with Korek went when we get to it."

Sif has posed:
"Thank you. Once this is resolved, hopefully I can be social once again."

Sif gives her a brief smile. "And I will send you a message when the trip to Niflheim happens. You will be a welcome ally."

Hopefully it'll be less offensive and more inquiry but it is Niflheim and there is a war for the throne there with the loss of Hela. Things will be complicated.

"Safe travels, Thea Queen."
