Cast of Characters: Veira Lazarescu, Jan de Wit

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Jan's probably had a lot of time the last seven days to go over things. Veira's usually really careful to not get herself killed, but death by blood loss is a real thing that can happen with blood mages. That's why people tend to not do that sort of magic. Jan was able to get her home though in one piece. Atilla wasn't far from him when he was at home and talked to him when he was down or when he was having moments.

She was still in her stasis when Jan had went to sleep on the 30th of October. And it's around three in the morning on Halloween morning when he might get the feeling that something has changed in the house. The dogs are up and restless and Atilla has disappeared from the bedroom as well.

Jan de Wit has posed:
He'd put fresh roses around her resting spot, every day - waiting on the day for her to return. He was upset at the situation, of course, but he had faith that she would return. It wasn't something he wanted to doubt, and certainly not something he wanted to go through on a regular basis - but there's little that could be done now, except wait.

He busied himself with cleaning, studying and practicing his dance during the days where she was gone. Anything he could do, to keep himself from sitting idle. Often, it meant going to bed exhausted.

At the change of the house, he sat up in bed. There was a blink or two to try to get a grip on what was happening - no real clues. With Atilla gone, he slowly rose to his feet and headed to where she'd been laid.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
The house is dark given the time of the morning. Which means that Jan is greeted by something that is usually seen in horror movies. Done the hall there is just a dark figure outlined by the moonlight that is pouring in from the window. The dogs are right outside the door and there is cold that eminates from whatever is standing down there.

Veira always hated coming back to. She was disoriented and groggy. This time she'd awoken to the scent of roses and that put some of the situation into perspective. She wasn't in a sterilized SHIELD room, she was at home. She'd managed to drag herself up as her body felt heavy and made it to the door to the hallway. She'd turned to see that the dogs were down the hall, but there was a cold feeling that she couldn't shake.

"Jan?" was the voice that cut through the darkness. He might feel the cold start to subside as the woman down the hall starts to regain her senses.

Jan de Wit has posed:
The sight of an odd figure does give Jan pause, though he's not assailed by precognative warnings. The dogs are waiting - not sure what to make of the situation. They look to Jan with tentative wags of their tails, expecting him to be able to sort things out for them.

"Veira." Jan says, sounding relieved. He quickly crosses the distance between them, seeking to embrace her - wanting to give her warmth and love. "You're home. You're back." He says, kissing her forehead.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira doesn't move for the moment as the man in the darkness moves. She can smell him and there is a warmth that comes with him. She wraps her arms around him, hugging him as he draws her into the warmth. It's like she melts in the moment. Her mind starting to glue back together as things start to make sense. Coming back was always jarring. But having someone there to anchor to was something she'd not experienced before this.

"I'm sorry." she whispers to him. "Didn't want to leave you doing this again." she adds in another whisper. She leans against the man and there is a sigh that she lets out slowly. "Are you alright? Have the kids been good?" she asks him softly.

Jan de Wit has posed:
Jan chuckles, tears of joy in his eyes. "You do not need to apologize... I would ask that you take it easy for a bit, yes?" He kisses her gently. "The kids have been good, missing you." As if on cue, they start trotting down the hall to snuffle at her legs. Happy noses press to her calves.

Still holding her, but giving her some breathing room, Jan grins. "Are you hungry? I've been living on chicken nuggets to keep the Overlord happy." He teases.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
Veira reaches up to wipe the tears from his cheeks when they fall, "I do, because this is hard on you, Jan." she tells him quietly. Even if she came back it was hard to have a dead person in the house and not knowing if they were going to wake. "I will take it easy, yes." she smiles to that. The gentle kiss is returned and she tries to get her warmth back as she does. When the dogs come trotting down the hall she gives a warm smile as the snuffle at her legs. "Hello loves." the Romanian woman states softly.

Then she looks to him, "I think I could use a shower before food. Though I am pretty hungry. I can only imagine that his highness has squeezed all the nuggets he could from you." she chuckles warmly. "He's been sitting with me for the last hour, but he probably will sleep since I'm up now." she admits.

Jan de Wit has posed:
"Shower, or bath? Which would feel better for you? A bath, I can fix you some food and bring it in on a tray." Service in the bath! "No magic until you're fully mended, love." Jan offers with another kiss. The pups sense she's not feeling a hundred percent, so they are content to help shepherd her towards the bathroom with Jan.

"Remind me to get Atilla a bit more gold to hoard - he's been a good friend through this. To both of us." He smirks, walking with his fiancee slowly. No rush, no pressure.

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"Do you want to join me in the bath?" She asks him. "I'm never going to turn down service in the bathtub, though I'm guessing that you've been running yourself ragged while I've been down. Maybe some relaxing is due on your end as well?" she suggests. She walks with him, not rushing. Her feet still feel like they belong to someone else for the most part. She reaches down to pet the pups at the door to the bathroom.

There's a chuckle, "Mmm, yes, he does tend to be a good friend when things are at their worst." she agrees with him in that. "Is it Halloween?" she asks him.

Jan de Wit has posed:
He thinks on that. "Yes, I will. Should I fetch us some snacks, then? Just to enjoy while we soak? Then we can get some proper food, if you're hungry still." Jan suggests, flipping the lights on in the master bath. He does dim them a bit, however - not wanting to overwhelm her with bright lights. The pups circle her, even as he reaches over to start up the bath.

"Just only Halloween. Early morning of it, actually." He smiles. "Is that a portent I should be aware of?"

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"Good. I think I'd like that." Veira states. "I think snacks work just fine my love." she tells him. She looks grateful that he's not turning the lights on full. She starts to strip out of the clothes she was in, some of the blood was still a bit gooey, so she chuckles as she drops the clothes on the floor. "I didn't have any visits this time." she tells him quietly.

Then there is a smile to him, "I was more asking because I was going to be peeved if I missed Halloween." she muses to that. "I was looking forward to spending it with you." she admits.

Jan de Wit has posed:
The man chuckles, tossing the clothes into the hamper. "All right. Need help getting in?" He offers her his arm as she gets bare. "I'll grab some crackers, cheese and sausage." A nod. "And plenty of water - we'll save the wine for later tonight." Jan assures. "No visits. Is that... odd?" He wonders.

A smile to her. "We will have our Halloween tonight." He winks. "Either at home, or go out and see the world as it embraces the holiday."

Veira Lazarescu has posed:
"I'm the worst." Veira chuckles as he tosses her clothes into the hamper. She does look a little like some returned from the dead warrior with all of her scars and the old blood marking her skin. She does reach out to steady herself on his arm, "Thank you." she whispers to him as she steps a foot into the tub. Then the other. "Water sounds great really. Wine can be later." she smiles to that.

"I'm excited for Halloween. I'd got candy to pass out if you think there might be trick or treaters, but I'd be happy to wander out." she tells him. She sinks down into the tub to get comfortable and warm. Because the cold seemed to be hanging around this time. "Last time I had one, I was expecting one this time, but...nothing." she frowns. "It was just odd." she admits.

Jan de Wit has posed:
The water is nice and warm, thank goodness for nice plumbing. "You're fine. You're recovering." He assures. Once she's set in the tub, he grins. "I'll turn on the jets once I get in. Did you want bubbles too?" Jan asks with a smile. Clearly the blood and scars don't upset him - though he is concerned about them being actual injuries.

"We have some decoration and I can setup a nice little 'haunted' path to our door, for the children." He smiles, kissing the top of her head. "We can look into those visits, once you're rested. Be right back." He hurries off to the kitchen, returning shortly with water and the aformentioned snacks.
