Synopsis: Thanksgiving is coming and a pair without family ponder the day
Cast of Characters: Conner Kent, Rose Wilson

Conner Kent has posed:
It is early at the Roost. Or maybe it is very late. But not so late the bat-people is back from patrols. That is, if they are even returning here today. There is a holiday coming. And no he has no classes tomorrow. Which maybe explains why Conner spent here the whole night. He even slept a few hours.

But now he has come out of his room, to grab a drink and see if anyone else is awake. Probably not, but he can check anyway. That is what super hearing is for.

Rose Wilson has posed:
EArly mornings are the best times for some folks anyway. Rose having not really any place she can go for the holiday is also hanging at the Roost. A cue ball, is followed by the eight ball, then the blue two, a green five, and an orange striped twelve through the air as she works on juggling with something other than granades for a change. Super hearing may pick up the soft smack-whoosh of each ball as it impacts a hand, then is launched back upwards in a continuous arc.

Conner Kent has posed:
Super hearing does pick up the balls clashing, indeed. Someone that skipped sleep? "Good morning," greets Conner, "why are you up this early, party girl?" He has a mug of cocoa (never coffee) and stands at the door of the rec room, wearing jeans and a t-shirt that doesn't even have the big S. Looks like he just had a shower, but he never sleeps much.

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson's lips quirk a little as she switches to a figure eight for her juggling pattern. "Up early? More of I have yet to be to bed." She pulls a face as she glances over with her bright blue. "Was getting glimpses that were annoying me enough to keep sleep at bay."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Sleepless. That makes sense," in a group were few, so few, go to sleep at normal times. "Wait... glimpses? Glimpses of what?" He steps closer, looking for signs of, well, oddness. Maybe drug use beyond the usual cigarettes.

But he finds nothing, so he moves on. "Do you have plans for... Thanksgiving?" Which is a delicate subject, considering the family she has. But he guesses even stabby killers might like to spend time with their children once a year.

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson cocks her head to the side as she reaches out and plucks each ball from the air, tossing them over her shoulder to sink one into each hole on the pool table. "Nothing too serious. Side effect of what I am, I guess." She glances over her shoulder as the one ball drops into its pocket and nods. "As for this Turkey feasting day? I thought I might do a fifteen or twenty mile run, followed by a few hours fighting holographic opponents in the training room. Not really a holiday I've ever really celibrated."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Yeah, well... I haven't much either," Conner sips from the mug and frowns. "Actually, I have real family now, but we aren't too close. Besides, they have their own families, I guess." And Tim has the bat-fam. Bart has Max and his family. Laura and Gabby their mysterious school and maybe a parental figure, too.

"There are a few events at the ESU, would you like to come with me?" He offers suddenly. "It could be fun, or at least some good food."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson chuckles softly as she turns back to study you and grins, "Is this bfore or after I set off all the alarms? Though perhaps I could re-look into one of those ceramic toys that I've read about." She hmms and nods, "Yeah, that might work. I thought I saw a good printer I could use to fabricate something."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Sure, although I don't think they have metal detectors in the dinning hall," or do they. Rose's habit to carry guns everywhere strikes again! "But there are fabricators in the labs of the lower level. Do you really need to have a gun for dinner at a college campus? Pretty sure no one else will have anything more dangerous than turkey-craving knives."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson always has a gun, though. It is a lesson that was taught to her the hard way more than once. Though she does perk up a little at the mention of turkey carving knives. "It depends on the location. Some places have scanners all all entrances. Others only a few here or there."

Conner Kent has posed:
"If you are interested I will check for scanners later," offers Conner, grinning. "Or we can try to rope a couple others. I mean, the bats will go to the bat-cave for lunch, I am sure. But maybe Harper or M'gann. I don't even know if Harper has family."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson hmms softly as she mulls that over. Hands lifting to gather her hair bakc into a twist as she puffs out her cheeks. "It might not be horribly bad, true. And if it is on a campus, I don't have to go kill anyone over a fancy dress. The blood was soo hard to get out of hte last crushed velvet thing I tried on."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Crushed velvet, you?" Conner mock disbelief is obvious, he finishes the cocoa and finds a couch to flop down. "I'll have to see that to believe it, but yeah, it is not a formal thing. You don't need a dress and I don't need a tie. Now, what was that about glimpses?"

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose Wilson laughs softly, "Yes, crushed velvet. Off the shoulder, corsetted top. Was a lovely rusty brown. Needed it to get in on a job. Sadly it doesn't clean up well, so it's gone." A small shrug, "I think you would have like the bussle too." A small shake of her head as she winks. "Nothing important about them. Just frights haunting me." She nods towards the doors. "I think I'm going to go swim some laps to see if I cna tire myself out more to sleep."
