Cast of Characters: Matthew Murdock, Daisy Johnson

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Christmas was a quiet affair at the loft apartment. The curtains were drawn so Daisy wouldn't have to deal with the flashing neon billboard across the street, that was the only reason Matt had been able to afford this otherwise place. The wind can be heard against the windows as New York had a white Christmas.

Presents were opened earlier. Daisy got a sweater and a few tech gadgets, though their budget for such things wasn't the most. There was also a picture of Daisy and Matt together at the orphanage that he'd managed to have someone dig up and put in a frame for her.

Later after a big meal, while Daisy had napped, Matt had donned his costume and gone out. Nelson and Murdock receives a lot of food, baked goods and produce, as payment. And come the holidays the amount of confections and other sweet baked goods went way up. He needed the exercise.

Now he's back, having snuck in to try to not wake Daisy. Going into the bedroom while she's sleeping on the couch, Matt takes off his costume, pulling on shorts over his boxers and getting the first aid kit. There's a cut on his arm, a bullet graze, which is going to need a few stitches.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"You know ..., I am not so sure about this picture..." Daisy had commented when Matt had come home with that picture of them at the orphanage. They were quite young! And ugh, look at all that kohl. She was in her goth phase. "I never told you about my goth phase..." Still, she had put it up on the living room. One of the very few pictures they had at home.

Her gifts had come in terms of actual PIE that she had gotten from a bakery in town. "They tell me it's the best in New York." along with a few audiobooks for them to listen to together during chill days. You know, like during Christmas!

Time had come and gone and while she was taking a good nap there was sneaky Matt returning home. Of course that he can't be that sneaky when there's that traitorous Boxer meowing at him. It also means there's a stir from Daisy. Then a voice. "You snuck out." she knows what it means.

She sits up and looks over to the bedroom, making her way over.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt's head turns slightly towards the meowing cat. "Et tu, Brutae?" he quotes to Boxer as he wakes Daisy up and makes naught of a bit of perfectly good sneaking. Matt lets out a little sigh, no way he's going to finish the stitches before she's aware of them.

"Yes, needed to burn off some calories, so I went for a... run," he calls back quietly. The hesitation before 'run' meaning it probably took place on the rooftops.

"Ran into a previous acquaintance while I was out," he says. "You'll, uh, be hearing about in the news later." Assuming she doesn't hear about it from him in the next few minutes, which is far more the likely.

Matt passes the needle in a loop through the cut and pulls the thread tight before making another pass. "I think we need to invest in one of those staplers," he comments to her.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Sure." Daisy says in that neutral tone that is telling she knows what Matt means. Not that she is against that, she gets in trouble all the time, not that she can judge others. She -can- worry though! Which she does when she looks in and notices the first aid kit.

"Who?" She asks with some curiosity, padding into the room to close in with Matt. "You know, we got us that suit for me so I can go with you, you don't have to do this alone." her softer hands are felt resting on Matt's and she moves them from the needle. "I will do it." she tells him.

And it's not like she will allow any discussion to happen, taking matters into her own hands. "Or sturdier suits." she tells him, starting to sew him up gently.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
For Matt's emotions, which are still high after the fight, the touch of Daisy's hands is like being dipped into a cool, still pool. He lets out a soft sigh and relinquishes the first aid supplies to her. "Yes, don't know that Melvin can do too much more towards bulletproof without making it too stiff to move well in," he says of the suit. Perhaps dodging the question for a few more seconds at least.

Another quiet sigh. "Frank Castle. I spotted him with a sniper file, just in time to throw off his shot. One of the lieutenants of the gang over on 54th. He, Frank that is, pulled his guns on me. But didn't shoot. Dove across the alley from the rooftop. But I could tell he was straining, must have been dealing with injuries. Well, he was falling and I caught his hand. But he yanked it free and took the fall into a dumpster. The lieutenant's bodyguards opened fire which is how I got this. Frank killed two of them before escaping down a manhole, while I took out the gunmen."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"I know, I will use my contacts with the Avengers and get us talking with Tony." Does Daisy mean Tony Stark? And why is she using his first name!? Do they know each other? There's a tease to her tone though. "We will get you into an iron suit." beat, while sewing another pass through skin, "The Irondevil." it has a ring to it... Maybe not.

That name Matt shares certainly isn't a strange one. "The Punisher?" she frowns, "We have come across him in a SHIELD mission in the past. Same objectives... But his MO was ..." she shakes her head.

"Yea, sounds like typical Frank." Then she arching a brow. "Guess he felt too proud to be saved by you?" she lets out her own sigh.

"We should just move to the Moon. No crazed vigilantes there.." Just crazy Inhumans.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt sits stoically as the needle passes through, Daisy adding more stitches to help knit the wound together for healing. "He showed up in that fight a few weeks ago too. I tried to talk him down, both times, from killing people," Matt says with a soft sigh. "He's just... hurting from the loss of his wife and kid. To the point he just thinks anyone that hurts others at that level needs to be put down."

There seems to be more tension in Matt from the conversation, and fight's, memory than from getting the stitches. "Hey, I'm one of those vigilantes. Just hopefully not crazed," Matt replies with a soft smile.

"So. No more runs tonight. Sorry, I didn't really expect I'd stumble into anything. Christmas is usually so quiet. What would you like to do with the rest of the night?" he asks Daisy.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"It's why I said crazed." Daisy points out! Then pricks him very softly on the side with the needle. "But ..., we all need a certain amount of crazy to do what we do." she finally finishing to stitch him up and tying up the loose end.

"There..., perfect." It's perhaps a good thing that Matt is blind so he can't really see how it's not that perfect of a sewing. Hey, Daisy isn't great at first aid stuff. Even if she's getting better considering how often Matt gets hurt. "One of these days I may just take a nurse course." she leaning in to press a kiss on the man's shoulder and then on his cheek.

"Let's just enjoy some time together, mmm?" she tells him, grinning when he speaks what she'd like to do the rest of the night.

"I have some ideas."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Ow!" Matt's deep voice exclaims, though he embellishes his reaction to the needle poke a little for her benefit. "I'd like to think I was perfectly rational before I met a certain goth hacker who just... planted seeds in me or something," Matt teases.

When Daisy sets the first aid supplies aside, Matt slides his arms around her and then pulls the young woman over into his lap. He leans his head forward, face and nose brushing into her hair. Matt's head fills with her scent. All the familiar smells. Her shampoo and her soap. The lingering scent of the meal from earlier. There's still a scent of gun oil on her fingers from when she was cleaning weapons two days ago. All of it is Daisy, in Matt's head, and he just basks in her presence as he hugs the woman close against him.

"Alright, nothing but sloth and largess the right rest of the night," he promises. "And I'm looking forward to finding out your ideas."
