Marc Spector has posed:
Everybody needs flowers for something.

The one's at Marc's little side project - the Midnight Mission - haven't been well-cared for and so Marc decided to get some flowers. Truly Marc, not the personalities of Steven Grant or Jake Lockley. He needed to clear his head. He takes a cab over, and when he exits, he's dressed in his civilian clothing: newsboy cap, dark jeans, thick leather jacket.

The door opens with a bell's announcement that somebody had walked in, his eyes scanning the room for the flowers desired...

Dinah Lance has posed:
/Everyone/ needs flowers for something. Dinah would never get rich selling flowers, but considering her no-rent situation, having inherited this shop from her parents... she made enough to eat, and crimefight. And for now, that was good enough.

And what was she doing when Marc entered the shop? Making arrangements. The shop smelled floral and sweet, with the scent of flowers almost overpowering, and the major display was filled with displays of arrangements, most with a customer name attached to them.

When the front door jingles, Dinah glances up, brushing a lock of her hair out of her face. She was wearing a green apron at the time. "Oh, hey Marc," she says, flicking a smile his direction as she sticks a rose into her current arrangement. "How have you been?"

Marc Spector has posed:
Marc spies the familiar, friendly face of Dinah Lance hard at work. It was strange to see her not in fishnets and badassery that she normally exhibits, but masks are that way for a reason, huh? "Hey Dinah. I'm doing fine, how about you?"

He approaches her, but keeps a respectful distance so he doesn't interrupt her work, elsewise he'd probably offer a 'long time no see' hug-greeting.

"Place is looking good. Still getting good business?" Marc knows what makes money and what doesn't, but flowers are the lifeblood of emotion and showing that emotion. It's a strange idea for her to ever be slow on business, least in his mind.

Dinah Lance has posed:
A mask indeed. But she was a flower girl at some point in her life - and out in the garage was the motorcyle that she was known for.

With her gloved hands, she prunes some of the prickly roses. "You know it," she says to Marc.

"It's the Christmas-New Years double feature," she says. "Then it'll be quiet for a while until V-Day," she says.

"With the occasional birthday, whatever to break it up, you know?" she says, with a shrug of one shoulder. "But yeah, business is good. It's keeping the lights on, and my bike fueled, so... that helps. What do you do for money again, if I can ask?" she asks.

Marc Spector has posed:
"Good to hear, good to hear." Marc finds a wall to lean against as she lays out her schedule in front of him (figuratively) and it sounds like she has a pretty solid thing going! "Good to hear."

Whaf does he do for money? "I do a couple of things. I run a company-" A VERY wealthy endeavor "and I drive an Uber occasionally if I need to clear my head." He chuckles softly. "It's going pretty good though, got a lot of fingers in a lot of pies."

He shrugs. "Any exciting plans for the holidays? Family, a good party?"

Dinah Lance has posed:
A small flicker of Dinah's usually smiling features. "No family," she says, but her voice brightens right after that brief bit of downtone. "/But/," she adds. "I did go to a party with some of my friends," she says. The Birds of Prey, of course!

"So there was that," she adds. "How about you?" she inquires with a tick of her head. "It sounds like you're staying busy - that's something I gotta respect," she says.

"A bunch of fingers in a lot of pies means that you're always staying on top of things. But it's a lot of work, isn't it?" she says. "I'm happy to have my business and my, uh... hobbies," she says.

Marc Spector has posed:
Marc sees it.

It's impossible for him not to. The pain of not having family to celebrate it with. All of his family is gone. Dead or straight up missing in action. Sure, he has the heliopolitans if he wants to throw a party with a team, but they speak for literal gods and are unlikely to kick back and have fun right this second.

"I'm glad you went to a party. You deserve to have a good time." he chuckles. "Nah, no parties for me so far. I have work friends, but you're one of the few geniune ones." He teases her playfully. "But yes, staying busy, staying working, keeping the streets clean."

"Too much work, sometimes. It's good to have a bit to let down the hair." he smirks.

Dinah Lance has posed:
"Do I?" says Dinah with a wryness.

"I think I try to have fun where I can," she says. "But... that's sad, if a busy florist is one of the best friends you got," she says. A pause though, as her clippers clip the thorns from another rose. Snip, snip snip.

"Yeah, there's that. Luckily, it's been a quiet Christmas, you know?" she says. "But that's why I like this sort of work, too - it's... calming. There's a rhythm to arranging flowers and making something already beautiful... more pleasing to the eye?" she says.

A pause more, and she breathes out a sound.

"What'd you do that was fun, recently?" she asks.
