Cast of Characters: Kimi Starr, Kate Bishop

Kimi Starr has posed:
It had been a first fitful night of rest in the medbay. Kimi Starr, the 'civilian' which jumped into the middle of the attack on the Verne Museum the other day laid quietly on the medical bed, both of her upper arms bandaged. Staring up at the ceiling, she thought back - recalling the source of her anger and cause for her to have been "Rabbit Hole'd" here by that, well, slightly unhinged, grinning teen. She knew that there were otherworldly beings, aliens and other unspeakable things that roamed the pale blue marble they all lived on, but after surviving New York, regardless of the changes she had went through over this past year...jumping headfirst into a fight like that was a questionable decision at best.

However - Kimi couldn't help herself when she saw those kids rushing towards the room with the robbery and assault taking place. Energy weapons, men that turned into overly tall lizard people, and some alien artifact that was destroyed by one of these 'Titans' after the fray ended. It was all quite the glut to process.

"God...how did I get myself into this mess..." she sighed quietly, crystal blue eyes not leaving what had to be the most interesting spot on the ceiling ever. Black and red tinted hair splayed out across her pillow, almost as if she hadn't so much as moved upon laying here the other evening. Shock was a hell of a thing.

Kate Bishop has posed:
From over yonder a voice comes "I was goingto ask you the same question honestly. How did you end up getting yourself into this mess?"

A look to the door would reveal Hawkeye, Hawkvenger, Hawkingbird, so many damn nicknames she will never escape. Though most are better than GirlHawk. She has her gear all strapped up and armor on. Purple shades obscuring her eyes and her features to a degree.

"Not too often do we have vanilla run of the mill civvies throw themselves into the middle of the fray when crime goes down Then again you seem a little non-normal as it were... Vorpal brought you here to recover and all. So.. uh if you don't know I'm Hawkeye and I'm one of the unofficial leads for the Titans... or chief cat herder... and you met the cat already."

Kimi Starr has posed:
Turning her head to the voice, Kimi squinted just a bit trying to make out whoever was speaking. Pulling her mind from the roaming it had been doing, she shifted - propping herself up in the bed.

"I assume you mean...Vorpal, or Terry, or whatever it is he called himself?" she questioned, "And beside that, what adult in their right mind would just let teens and kids go running headlong into something absurdly dangerous like that?" her voice was being held even, though there was clearly an underlying hint of tension that was building in it - especially with the not so normal comment directed at her.

Kate Bishop has posed:
"I mean... fair... Beast Boy can do a mean green kitty.... but yes I meant Vorpal.. or Terry. His identity is definitley public these days." she shrugs a bit and brings her hand up revealing a sports drink and takes a sip as she looks across the room at you.

At the closer look, Hawkeye is unlikely to be of drinking age, but then again she may just look young. She is probably legally an adult though. Probably.

"Mind if I sit down?" gesturing to a chair in your med-suite.

Kimi Starr has posed:
"I, mean...go ahead?" she canted her head to the side ever so slightly, "I assume this is, your....base? Home? I don't know. I'm just a visitor."

Kimi shifted a bit more, turning on the bed to sit up properly, right hand reaching up to gently rub the bandages around her left bicep and shoulder. She glanced to the bedside table that held some of her belongings, your typical mid range cellphone, a rather unique pair of red lensed wrap-style glasses, and a single drop earring with a small green sphere on it - she paused and reached up feeling her earlobes. Looking irritated for a moment as she realized someone must have removed it while she slept. Shaking the more than mild annoyance off, her attention turned back to the girl speaking.

"That...is I think why he brought me here. I don't quite, want it getting out." her voice trailed off, appearing to be weighing her next choice of words very carefully.

Kate Bishop has posed:
"True, home and base, like I said.. I help lead the Titans." she moves over and hooks the chair with her foot positioning it better before dropping into it.

She studies Kimi as she checks her bandages, and then looks at her stuff. "Well you're safe here and you are our guest, in our home. Some of the Titans have secret identities.. myself included... so we do our best to keep those a secret. So I imagine you are right he brought you here instead of Metropolis General for that reason." a light shrug. "So yeah you are welcome to stay here to recover. You're instincts to help are good... so I'm assuming you're not an assassin or ninja of a villainous sort?"

Kimi Starr has posed:
Kate actually elicits a proper laugh out of Kimi with that last line of questioning. Of all things to be asked, given whom she is and what she does - but it can't be helped, it has been almost a year since she last practiced.

"No, no, nothing like that." she quietly chuckles, "I'm Kimi Starr, an Attorney. So, depending on who you ask, maybe a villain?" unable to not shake her head and continue to chuckle at the absurdity of it all. "But no, long story shot." She held her hand up, flattening her fingers and turning her palm to the ceiling.

Kimi closed her eyes and let out a soft exhale, a subtle glow emanating from beneath the bandages on her upper arms and shoulders. A thin sheen of sweat began to form on her brow as her eyes snapped open sharply and - from that upturned palm, an honest to goodness tiny tornado appeared. No more than a few inches in height and diameter, it could almost be considered cute. As her expression relaxed from the moment of concentration, she held the little whirlwind out towards Kate.

"I...after New York, some things happened, and this is the result. I can generate and control wind." she offered a pained smile, the glow under the bandages shifting from colorless to having the faintest tinge of red to it.

Kate Bishop has posed:
There is a soft smile from the young woman as she manages to get a laugh. It definitely seems to be something she was hoping to accomplish to lighten the mood a touch. "Well, are you a big corporate lawyer for Lexcorp or something... otherwise I don't think it is something that I would worry about."

She then proceeds to watch the demonstration "Aerokinesis or magic...?" she inquires curious her head tilting. She reaches hand out to try touch the little whirlwind of air as it breezes over. "Don't push yourself though ... you need to recover." she considers things. "That is cool though. I wonder if you can harness the wind to fly...."

Kimi Starr has posed:
Kimi focuses a bit, causing the small tornado to jump from her hand and into Kate's, spinning quietly there like a little intangible top. Surprisingly there is a fair bit of heat radiating from it.

"This small...isn't really, straining. What I did yesterday...or, was it the day before, I don't even know. That..." she sighed a little, "I overdid it trying to make sure the others, your Titans, didn't get hurt. And as far as what I call it...Aerokinesis isn't bad, but the first thing that came to mind for me was Aero Force, really don't know my limits - haven't tried flying. Usually just use it for boosts of speed, cushioning my falls, and helping take the brunt of anything trying to hit me." she shrugs a bit, watching Kate's reaction to the little tornado spinning calmly for her.

Kate Bishop has posed:
"Huh.. I wasn't expecting the heat...." she murmurs. She lifts her hand and studies it turning her hand a bit one way or the other now. "It is very useful and neat.. not a normal trick for sure." she looks past it to you keeping her hand held up to hold the swirl.

Obviously the archer has seen things <tm> so many things. This doesn't seem to phase her very hard though.

"Have you been trying to hero with it... or just live with it and lawyer?"

Kimi Starr has posed:
Letting out an exhale, the little tornado disperses in a cool breeze, pulsing a few times then simply slowing and wisping away. As soon as the power was released, the glow beneath the bandages fades away - but the appearance of fresh blood begins to swell and stain the fabric wrapping her biceps. Oblivious to this, Kimi ponders for a moment - measuring her thoughts and words. Why was she just, laying all this out in the open to a girl she didn't know from Adam. Logically if she were anywhere else, this would NOT be happening, but here, in this place - Titan's Tower she was told. It seemed safe. It was clear there were others with powers that dwarfed her own, both in scope and control; so in some small way it brought a small bit of comfort to the woman sitting on the bed.

"What was it, little over a year ago...when all hell...or, well, heaven broke loose in New York?" her expression darkened a little bit, "The building my apartment is in was all but demolished. I survived, clearly." a soft chuckle, "In the aftermath, I was pressed to act as prosecution in a case against a..." another pause, then a sigh - enough holding it all in. "A absolute twisted bastard who used the commotion to murder seven people. His defense team used every trick in the book and he got off scott flipping free. I was, infuriated. All the death and disaster that happened, and this piece of trash got to walk because of 'lack of sufficient evidence and possibility of deaths being unrelated due to the practical war zone the city was'. I couldn't take it."

Kimi's fists had closed and tightened, white knuckles contrasting against otherwise sunkissed skin. The anger boiling in her was apparent, and her restraint clearly was something that was well practiced. No doubt given her line of work - being able to keep her temper in check was necessary, but like all things that are bottled up; eventually the bottle breaks. She wasn't there just yet, but the swirling storm in her mind and heart was starting to get the better of her. There was a series of forced, slow, deep breaths taken, held and let go before she could trust herself to continue her story.
