Synopsis: Elektra and Batgirl go to Budapest to investigate the Lycan and Vampire war that has lead to the disappearance of Elektra's friend. It quickly gets out of hand!
Cast of Characters: Barbara Gordon, Elektra Natchios

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Budapest.

A subway train is pulling away from the station, a gun goes off, screams cry out. The screaching of the train pulls away from the station, the lights on its back end vanishing down a dark tunnel.

Two more guns go off. The shots ringing out loudly through the underground facility. Civilians run for the stairs, though most had huddled inside the departing train.

Elektra, and Batgirl are left on the platform, flanked on either sides by different groups wanting to end them for being here.

One a Vampire group.

The other Lycans.

Somehow, Elektra and Batgirl had united the two age-old enemies to try and end these two outsiders to their war.

Batgirl takes down one Vampire soldier, crushing their arm with her enhanced strength inside her Bat-suit. She spins around a cement pylon where she is face to face with another that tries to shoot her right in the nose, but she blasts them with an electrical weapon that sizzles the Vampire with an immense amount of power until he's falling off of the platform down in to the subway tracks below.

The station is rapidly clearing out now, screams still bouncing around up the stairs and out in to the Budapest night beyond.

Elektra is charged at by one of the Lycans as they grow, change, transform from their Human form in to their Beastial version. The monster rushes at the Assassin and tries to rend her in two with its claws!

So much for this being a vacation.

The two women were on their turf now, and they'd rattled enough cages already to get themselves in between this centuries old turf war!

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Screams. Enemies flanking them from both sides. Life on the line. Yes, this how Elektra likes it, right on the edge. Blood pumping. Is she a thrill-seeker? Very much so. Of course that she can't help herself by teasing Batgirl with...

"We could be at a spa now.."

And yet here they are. The spa will have to come later, if they live. But Elektra has no intention of dying here tonight which is why when the first lycan goes at full charge and transforms right on top of her to bite at her face it gets a silver blade to the mouth instead. Blood splutters as Elektra draws both her swords as fast as lightning, the silver edge shining in the moonlight. The only light visible around her as her new armored suit keeps her form dark and nearly out of sight. At least for normal senses!

She twirls as the blade comes off from the now fallen lycan, looking around as she weaves under the strikes of a vampire trying to go at her with a sword. She has to parry, then jump back. Yea, certainly not a pushover vampire. She frowns.

"We need to get out of here. Any ideas?"

Barbara Gordon has posed:
"Our ride just left." Batgirl says back to Elektra, her voice changer on inside her suit, making her normally very feminine voice ... sound feminine still, but mixed with a would-be demonic flavor. It worked well in Gotham to instill some fear in the dark, but they're not in Gotham anymore... and some of Batgirl's toys might be lost in translation, while others were sadly left back at home... like the bulk of her drone army.

Neither the Lycans, nor the Vampires, wish to avoid killing the other either mind you, and thus there are guns going off aimed at each member of the opposing factions who both came here tonight to take care of the intruders... now they both wish to handle each other too, creating the perfect scenario for a literal blood bath.

"Stay close." Batgirl warns Elektra before she tosses a hand up in the air, and a sudden pulse of energy blossoms outward from a small black disc she'd thrown up on to the ceiling!

An EMP device.

The terminal lights all flash out, drowning the station in darkness, with the flashes of sparks from weapons going off providing the only light now.

TWO DAYS EARLIER:

"This place is beautiful." Barbara had said while their hired car drove she and Elektra toward their chosen hotel. They were proceeding across a famous city landmark, the large bridge guarded by giant stone lions on either sides of it, and the city sprawling all around them. They were here for a Green Energy Summit that was scheduled for next week, as luck would have it, and who better to attend that summit than Barbara Gordon, foundr of Gordon Green Energy out of Gotham City, and her assistant... <insert Elektra's fake name here>

Seated in the town car, the window up between them and their driver, Barbara has a Waynetech computer tablet on her lap, dressed in a black business suit, she's thumbing through articles about the city, to learn more about its culture. She glances over to Elektra. "The 'City of Spas'." She tells her friend with a big grin. "What did we come here for again? I can't remember now...."

Elektra Natchios has posed:

The chaos all around isn't missed by Elektra. She thrives in it after all. Which is why when the vampire comes at her again she dodges to the side, a partial parry followed by a kick that sends the vampire back. Not -that- impressive. But it's enough to get him right into the mix of a couple of lycans. What follows next? More screams. Now out of the vampire as the lycans go at him.

"We should had taken a uber." A vigilante and a ninja walk into a uber. That's the start of a joke somewhere...

Elektra backs against Barbara when she calls for her to stay close, now they being back to back as the pulse comes from that disc.

"This way." She murmurs as the room falls into darkness. And Elektra ..., jumps right onto the subway tracks? Perhaps she knows the tunnels well enough for an exit somewhere. She had mentioned it hadn't been the first time she was in the city after all!

TWO DAYS EARLIER:

"It is." Assistant Lisa Kudrow replies to Ms. Gordon. She is sitting next to Barbara, dressed in a stylish business suit, one leg over the other, "It has that old feeling that is so sorely missing in many other cities. It's almost like making a trip to the past." and when Barbara speaks of what it's known for there's a brief grin out of Elektra. A rare one! "Hopefully we will have time to go to one before we leave.."

Hopefully. Because they have a priority here. And that's finding out where Selene might be held in.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
"The House of Terror... a museum...." Babs further reads on upon her tablet screen. She thumbs the screen some. "God, the architecture too..." Her green eyes look up and over to 'Lisa' beside her, she smirks. "This is basically Gotham City, you realize that, right?" She asks, her eyes bouncing back down to the tablet. "A happening night life too. God... maybe I'll buy a vacation home nearby...." She 'jokes'.

Later that night the two women are in Babs' hotel suite. It's a grand suite, she got one for both of them on this floor, side by side to one another, having said 'You gotta splurge now and then.' on the flight over.. the flight was up to Elektra to have arranged, and she'd certainly delivered! It's not easy getting a whole Bat=suit across the planet unmolested by airlines, let alone the toys that go with one.

Now, in Babs' suite, Barbara has a whole mess of papers, documents, magazines, and multiple electronic devices spread out on the table in front of her, and her whole Bat-suit is resting in a box beside the sofa, looking out of place as the black and gold armored bodysuit just 'stares up' from inside the box, it's lid pushed aside when Babs had checked it all over...

"Okay, so... check this out." Babs says, raising her tablet up from the edge of the sofa to offer it to Elektra. "There's a medical research facility here, across town, that is said to specialize in genetics. BGI. Budapest Genetics Improvements. I'll give you two guesses for who supplies a bulk of their medical supplies, equipment, and assistance...."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Fine, I concede the point. But it still feels older than Gotham." Elektra says with a wave of her hand at it. Gotham, pfffttt. What does it have on Budapest?! Well, a slew of vigilantes, that's what. Budapest might win on the vampire department though. At the talk about a vacation home there's a smirk. "I might have one or two around..." and it doesn't sound like she's joking. But knowing Elektra? It's probably safe houses. Probably! A ninja never reveals their secrets...

The flight over had meant a lot of money exchanging hands. Because happy hands meant eyes that looked elsewhere as certain cargo was brought in. Was it all legal? Not one pinch of it. She did use these contacts for her assassinations in the past after all..

Elektra is still dressed in that sharp business suit but is currently busy with the sharpening of a blade though she does look up when the other woman calls her attention over. She approaches and takes the tablet, "Semira?" she ventures with an arched eyebrow, fingertip brushing over the screen while she goes through the details, frowning faintly. "Looks like a start. How do we want to do this? Suit up and explore during the night?"

Barbara Gordon has posed:
"Ding ding." Babs says when the guess is made for 'Semira' being connected to this genetics lab. "I can't imagine it's that easy, but... I mean... maybe I'm used to things being hidden a bit more diligently back home. Maybe around here, there isn't quite the same level of fear toward being investigated...." Babs says while her eyes are down on her work.

"There's a lab head, Christian Vos..." She mutters, already having his social media presences pulled up on her laptop. "I think we should suit up and head out, yeah. I think we should spend a couple nights tracking this guy, see what kind of stuff he's in to. Might not be exciting, but it could give us an idea what sort of things he gets up to, and with whom...." She says while rising up from the sofa to step over the box containing her suit. "I'm gonna pop in to the shower, and we can head out in an hour?" She calls back over her shoulder, her red hair waving gently behind her as she moves toward her suite's bedroom.

TODAY:

Batgirl and Elektra find themselves inside the dark tunnels of the subway. The sounds of distant train cars echoing down the arched tunnel chasm. "The Lycans are still on us, the Vampires may have pulled out to the streets." Batgirl says through her still-modulated voice. They reach a off-shoot tunnel that is locked via chain and padlock. Batgirl grabs it with her right gloved hand and just rips the chain off, causing the door to swing open to the side-maintenance tunnel. "Vos did this." Batgirl says. "He called them in. We have to get to that lab before they move your friend to another site...."

Inside the train tunnel, the sounds of heavy footfalls echo as the thundering approach of the Lycans is telegraphed to the two fleeing women, the heavy hitting beasts getting ready to tail them in to the maintenance area!

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Money." Elektra answers Barbara as they talk on the whys of these people not bothering hiding their illicit business. "And no pesky vigilantes to keep tabs on the corruption. The vampires have been the Lords of this land for centuries now. They simply do not care, they do not think anyone will threaten their domain. Besides the lycans, but they usually attack more directly, not their businesses." Selene did teach Elektra a lot about vampire society before her disappearance.

"Christian Vos." Elektra echoes, looking at that laptop screen as they get an image of the man. She nods sharply. "Sounds good. Shower first and then stalking that guy." she starts heading over to her own room, brushing one hand over that long midnight black hair of hers.

"And if surveillance doesn't work we can always get info from him the good old way of intimidation..." She calls out, already taking her suit jacket as she enters her room.

TODAY:

The short distance they have gained to their pursuers seems to have been mostly gained due to the early confusion of the darkness, along with the shootouts continuing for a time longer between vampires and lycans. Old rivalries are hard to fight! But eventually a few come in pursue, lycans of course who can see in the dark.

"A race against time. We should come out not too far from the labs. Hopefully." If they survive the race through the tunnels, that is!

As the beasts get closer Elektra brings out a couple of devices from her belt. Shrapnel grenades, but embedded with silver instead of the usual. She takes the pins and throws them back down the corridor. Howls of pain are heard as they continue to run. But their pursuers haven't given up even if some may have fallen.

"When I find that Vos again I am going to make him regret this day..." She hisses.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Batgirl isn't the only one with cool toys, so it seems. Elektra's deterrents go off with a thundering echo down the tunnels before the two women find themselves in the maintenance tunnels, seemingly alone. "Vos was ready for us. Obviously they knew we'd come to Budapest." Babs says as she rushes through the smaller hallways until they find a set of old stairs that lead upward. Batgirl darts around them and starts heading up two at a time, her black and gold cape fluttering behind her as she goes. When they round another corner they find themselves on a small platform that has a barred gate closing the exit. Batgirl doesn't bound through it yet, she pauses to look back to Elektra.

"Lucien. The Lycan. We need his help with this." She tells the other, her modulating deactivated now, leaving her voice back at her normal tone, and pitch... the kind-hearted voice of Barbara again.

"The Lycans aren't going to shed a tear if a Vampire laboratory goes up in smoke, and they could provide us with a viable distraction to get inside the place..." Babs says, still keeping her voice a bit down in volume though, as there is a flash of light that flickers down the dark corridor they're in now from beyond the gateway where there are windows to the outside.

Then a deep rumble rolls across the Earth itself. A thunderstorm. The city of Budapest really is like Gotham's grandparent....

Elektra Natchios has posed:
When Batgirl suggests they should get a hold of Lucien there's a frown on the assassin's features. She doesn't like it. But might be just what they need. "It will mean having to deal with that insufferable Eve most likely." no love lost between those two apparently! "But you may be right. We need an ally here. How do we find him though?"

Elektra looks up sharply at the flash from the outside. Then the thunderstorm. Typical Budapest. "The rain will mask our scent and throw the lycans off when we get up there." she notes.

Moving to the barred gate she drops on one knee near the lock. Small picks are taken from her sleeves and she works on picking it quickly before the satisfying *click*s is heard. She opens the gate.

"With any luck they will know we are here already.."

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Batgirl was clearly mulling over options inside her head as the gate is picked open. She steps through the door when Elektra gets it pulled aside and starts to move down the surface-level corridor. They're not far from the lab now, Vos had been leaving work when he'd spotted them tailing him. He'd called the Vampires in, and the Vampires brought in the Lycans... like a series of predators chasing different prey, all tumbling in to the same subway platform together at once.

"We need to..." A gunshot rings out, not close, but through one of the large gothic windows that looks out on a city park... they're in a park corridor.

Batgirl approaches the window, rain is already falling outside, her cape is now flowing dramatically behind her in the cool breezes coming in through the large arched window. Down below in the park there are figures moving around. A fight.

"Runoff from the subway." Batgirl says. "God these people are insane..."

It looks like three Vampires versus two Lycans...

Only one of the Lycans is shot point-blank right in its face, its bulking body falling down in the rain soaked grass now.

One Lycan.

"Come on.... we gotta save that one. They're our messenger."

Babs steps up on the stone railing overlooking the park, and she offers a hand for Elektra to join her... before she'll jump, before her cape will spread far and wide, and before an electrical sweep rushes through it to form it in to its Bat-wing ability!

The two will glide down to the parkway, rain falling in sheets across them as they soar, curve downward, and Batgirl delivers Elektra right in behind the Vampires with their guns aimed in the opposite direction firing upon the Lycan that is fleeing in to the dark!

Air borne Ninja Assassin dliverery!

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Assuming the lycan won't try to slice us down the moment we save him from the vamps..." It's a big if. But hey, Elektra has worked with less so the plan is good in her mind! Now they just need to execute. Literally.

Elektra catches Batgirl's hand in a tight grip and pulls herself up, holding on to the flying Babs as they glide down, closer and closer to the vampires.

And bringing death from above. For when Batgirl drops Elektra right in their midst? Well, there's a reason she is one of the top assassins in the world. And when she catches her prey unaware? There's not many that can resist. Powers or not. It's why when those blades flash they find two of the vampires, stabbing them from behind and through the heart, blood gushing out in a spray.

It leaves one vamp still alive, who starts to turn towards Elektra with his gun.

And a lycan that's running away but looks over it's shoulder at the commotion.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Right over the Lycan's head, in the rain, the Batgirl soars. He looks back to see Elektra taking out the Vampires, and a satisfied expression falls over the Lycan's hideous visage.

That is, until he realizes he's running right in to something... someone.

Batgirl 'appears' in front of him, and she just stands there, rain sheeting down over her cloak that is concealed around her like a cocoon now, her red hair plastered wetly down behind her shoulders, making it not even visible, just the outline of the woman in that imposing attire, something this pure Hungarian Lycan has never seen before.

The 7 foot tall beast just hunkers down, and bares its fangs, as Batgirl just stares at him in the rain.

It's not until Elektra finishes off the last Vampire, and is enroute across the park to join them, that Batgirl speaks up, her voice wavering in that strange 'demonic' filter again. "Easy... we are not here for a fight. We want to speak to Lucien. Tell him that Batgirl and Elektra are here, tell him we want to help him take down a Vampire lab. Tell him to meet us at the park theater in an hour."

Lucien and Eve had said that they'd return to Hungary the last time that they spoke in Gotham, it's a safe bet that they have, right?

The Lycan just growls, snarls, and looks ready to pounce the Bat... even in her fancy suit, she's still a small morsil compared to him...

Another flash of lightning sears through the dark skies, and is followed by a rolling thunder clap.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
The remaining vampire disappears under Elektra's blades a moment later, barely able to bring the gun up to point at her. No mercy in those killer eyes as the creature crumples by her feet. And that leaves the lycan.

Fight or flight? That indecision appears to be making the lycan hesitate. Hesitation that Elektra is quick to dissipate as she approaches, death in her eyes and her blades showing.

"I would think better on your choices." A promise in her voice. That of violence if the Lycan chooses to fight.

Eventually the lycan appears to choose wisely. That of flight. And with a message to deliver.

Hopefully it would reach the ears both Elektra and Barbara wanted to reach. "An hail mary throw." she says of the plan. "But I have done with worse."

It would have to be enough.
