Cast of Characters: Barbara Gordon, Helena Bertinelli

Barbara Gordon has posed:
It's a relatively chilly night, but not bone freezing cold. It is dry too, and the snow from earlier this month had melted away a few days ago.

Helena receives a call from Batgirl though, to meet her at a church at the corner of 75th and Vicount Ave, up in Northtown.

Helena is practiced enough by now, and experienced enough to spot some of Batgirl's drones buzzing around in the night time sky too... so when she arrives, she'll know she's in the right spot.

The Cathedral is quiet, and there's police tape surrounding the building's entrances. There's no cop cars though, but Babs had asked Helena to join her inside, so now Helena just had to find her way in... however she so chose to.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress had been out on her own patrol when the message came, making it easy enough to change course and meet up as requested. Turning into an alley near the church, she shuts off the engine and lets the bike roll to a stop. With the drones around, it casts a more uneasy feeling. Not that they're untrustworthy, more that they feel like vultures circling. A bad omen almost.

<I'm here Batgirl.>
Even though she figures Batgirl knows where everyone is at all times anyway, communication is still important.

Seeing the police tape, she frowns and moves around to the back of the large building, finding a side door, it is no big thing to unlock it and ease inside. Breaking and entering for good-ness!

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Babs was aware of her arrival, as the nature of those drones was to provide overwatch for Batgirl. Anyone who knew her well knew that for the past decade... since she was very nearly murdered by the Joker, Babs had a much more uneasy feeling about her back being improperly watched. The drones had been a measure to cover that, but ... she liked help, unlike Batman. She liked her Birds too.

Once Helena got inside the place, it didn't take her long to find Batgirl. A shining beam of eerie red light showed off where Babs was... since she was holding the device eminating the light.

Inside the back of the Church there are offices for its staff, and inside that hallway between the offices is where Babs is, and was shining that low red light. She pauses and her shadowy figure looks back to Helena.

"Glad you could make it." Batgirl says in her soft feminine voice, no voice modulator active at the moment. "Interested in a bit of a investigation?" She asks then.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress moves over to Batgirl and nods. "Of course. It's what I do" she says with a quiet smile. "You know how to show a girl a good time - inviting her to church while it's wrapped up in crime scene tape" she notes with a light tone.

"What are we investigating?"

Her dark eyes glance around the room to make note of what can be seen. "Not too often there are crimes in churches. At least the sort that require them to be cordoned off."

Barbara Gordon has posed:
When Huntress joined her at her side, Barbara offered her the red light to hold on to, a small rechargeable flashlight. "I try to lure you in to the best, and most weird, situations. You know this." She quips back in a low hushed voice before motioning ahead down the hallway.

"Commissioner Gordon asked me to look in to this. There's been a sudden rash of Priests being poisoned the last three Sundays..." She says as they walk side by side. "The latest, today, here... Father Rodriguez. He was found in his office chair prior to service this morning... It's.." Babs trails off then as she checks her wrist computer.

She watches a pair of people walking by outside, but they don't look at the church and instead keep on moving.

Batgirl lowers her wrist then as they step in to the Priest's office now. "The killer is using a poison called Hemlock... Each time, administered through tea, or coffee cups." She explains once they are in the office.

"I wanted your eyes to help me look around, see if you can find anything of noteworthy note..."

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Huntress takes the light and shoots back easily, "Of course. It keeps things lively and intereseting. Falling into comfortable routine is what becomes deadly."

Listening to their reason for being here she frowns. While not exactly religious these days, she was raised very strongly in the Church. Having any violence acted out against its members is still a grave thing to her.

"Hemlock. How philosophically creative." With a nod, she slowly casts a glance along the hallway, up at the ceiling. "GCPD has been through already then?" Hopefully they didn't tromp all over any missed evidence. Not all of its members are the most empathetic.
