Sunny and The Curio-us Vampire
Date of Scene: 23 February 2023
Location: The Hotel Room
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Ariah Olivie, Sunny Harlow

Ariah Olivie has posed:
It really just started with a text message. Ariah had gotten Sunny's number after one of their meetings in Happy Harbor, but tonight it's with an odd request: 'Come see me in Gotham.' it said. As simple and deadpan as the girl spoke normally, too. A second text after gives the location: 'The Curio. Upstairs. Room 2C.'

It's enough to go on for GPS directions, The Curio might attract a certain kind of 'crowd' but it's not an unknown place. Rather public, in fact. Finally, about 15 minutes after the second text: 'I am recovering and would like some company.'

Sunny Harlow has posed:
A text message that seemed perhaps a little blunt, a little concerning. Enough that she'd look up from her books in her tiny apartment and her studies with a bite of her lip and consideration. Should she? It was a long way to travel (for most) and a dark hour...but they'd only really met up at dark hours. Then the second message came along and the decision was made. It only took a few moments for her to fish out her costume and change, cape and bodysuit completing the look of Indestructibelle as she zoomed skywards and towards Gotham...but of course Sunny would touch down and hide her bag before she changed back into her civillian clothing on the roof and then made her entry through the front door.

Odds are, the blonde looked a little out of place...

Ariah Olivie has posed:
It's not a trivia night tonight, so The Curio isn't entirely packed with people having a good time. But there are some hanging around. And the cute blonde might not be so out of place after all. Everyone can be eccentric no matter how they look outwardly! But if she needs directions, she'll be pointed towards an old cage-style elevator that leads up into the upper levels.

The hallway on floor 2 is pretty bare and basic, too, an old apartment building of sorts that's seen better days. The doors, at least, are marked, though Ariah's is near the end of the hall.

Sunny Harlow has posed:
And so she'd find it! Even with her power set she wasn't actually a Kryptonian and so she couldn't see into the room. She'd just have to knock like anyone else!

Pausing to tie her hair back behind her head with a simple blue ribbon and then lifting her hand to gently wrap her knuckles against the door that Ariah had spoken of in her message.

Ariah Olivie has posed:
It takes a moment, but the door eventually is unlocked and opened. Standing within is the much shorter girl, peering up at the blonde. Ariah seems to be just wrapped in a big, soft blanket. "...you came, ma chere..." she says quietly, giving Sunny a ghost of a smile. She turns and starts to mosey back towards the bed. "Please, come in. I was... needing companionship... if. That was okay to ask? I had hoped you were not working tonight."

Then the ilttle witch plops down on the end of the bed, kicking her legs a little. It's easy to see that her feet and calves are bare, the girl likely just going full blanket burrito right now. "I also hope I did not interrupt anything important for your evening."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Given the sketch book tucked under her arm, it suggested that Sunny had taken her work with her...or maybe she was planning to draw Ariah? Who knows? Either way, the blonde smiles at the shorted woman, moving through the door and nudging it shut behind her with her backside before nodding her head. "It's okay, I was just working on some stuff but...you said you were recovering?" she questions before drawing nearer and just sort of...standing there, hugging her book to her stomach and tilting her head. "What happened?"

Ariah Olivie has posed:
"It is complicated. I can give you the simple answer," Ariah states quietly, wiggling her toes as she peeks up at Sunny. "Which is I needed to have an operation. Things have been very... interesting. For me. For some time. My endeavors have required me to make several transactions. And one of them..." she shrugs her blanket-covered shoulders. "...required taking on some... burdens. Which I wished to have removed from me as they disrupted my energy flow."

It seems all so roundabout, but maybe the icy little witch doesn't want to be blunt and weird to Sunny. Not that she isn't always weird.

Sunny Harlow has posed:
That does sound...complicated. As she moves to try and find herself a seat, she does tilt her head to the side before setting her book down. A little exhaled breath, she gesture to the woman lightly. "I mean...given your whole...rawr thing. I didn't think of the thought that you'd need to have an operation after all."

Ariah Olivie has posed:
"As I said, it is complicated," Ariah states. She gestures to the chair nearby or the space on the bed next to her where she sits. "As part of an exchange I inherited several... cancers. They would not be lethal to my body but... they... interfere with my flow of energy. My magic suffers because of it. And given that I have been running into trouble with hunters lately..." she trails off, grimacing slightly.

"..it is more than a little dangerous for me to be wandering without sufficient ability to manipulate energy... to say nothing of continued application of fresh blood may have made it even worse..." Her head shakes slowly before she fixes her mismatched gaze on Sunny. "...I was finally able to find someone to remove them. This is... why I am resting. I require time to regenerate."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Down on the bed she'd drop, her skirt-clad behind with the hotpants beneath on the matress next to the magical vampire burrito with her book by her other side. Lazily stretching out, clear sympathy crosses her features, of course it does. This -was- Sunny after all! Still, she does meet that gaze with her own bright blue orbs. "So...you're going to be okay then now? Do you need me to get you something? I could run to a store or..."

Ariah Olivie has posed:
There's a slow tilt and Ariah leans to the side slowly before resting her white, fluffy-haired head on Sunny's shoulder. Then she exhales a long, quiet sigh. "...oui, I will be okay. It will take time. It is not the first time I have had... pieces cut out of me. But it is the first time there has been disruption necessitating such measures..." she mumbles quietly. "Life is full of new experiences, non? And while it was strange and unpleasant, it was a new experience."

Slowly, she shakes her head at the mention of going to the store. "Non, I only wish for you to be here right now. It is you, ma chere, and your warmth. Your kind company. I do not want, or need, for too much. So, for coming all the way here, merci."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Fluffy vampire snuggles, blanket against her side, she does gently shift to allow the comfort with her arms around the vampiress...but it only lasts a moment before she continues the movement to allow Ariah to lay back down on the bed with her head in the blonde alien heroine's lap. A little shift, she lifts one hand to her best reassuring and comforting stroke of the white-haired Witch's head even as she blushed. Thankfully, the angle did make it harder to see as she looked up. "I'm happy to keep you company then, if it will help!"

Of course she would, she'd already donated blood once to help the other woman.

Ariah Olivie has posed:
Ariah is not fluffy. Not usually. But there are certain people she is understandably fluffy with. And, for a number of reasons, Sunny is one of them. She blinks at the adjustments of position, and lays on her back, head on that lap, staring up at Sunny. She misses seeing flush of cheeks, but her senses catch the warmth blooming, the increase of blood flow. The blanket is adjusted and she just gets cozy there.

"I do mean it," the small woman states quietly. "It is very much appreciated. All you have done. I did not wish for it to only happen once. And I promise that I will not only come to you when I am in need. You may lean onme as much as you wish as well, ma chere..." she says quietly, a small pang of regret in her voice for not reaching out sooner, perhaps.

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Perhaps Sunny brought out some fluffiness from people? Or perhaps not. Either way, the girl gently continues to stroke at Ariah's hair before gently leaning back. After all, Ariah needed to be able to see her face rather than just the underside of her bust!

"I like to help people," the blonde offers softly, making herself comfortable and leaving her book forgotten before she comes with a light smile. "But maybe you can tip me or buy me some pie next time you see me. Or help me with my projects."

Ariah Olivie has posed:
The vampiress watches as the other girl leans back, waiting to catch her eyes and see her face. "...I desire to help as well. In my own fashion. You are aware of my capabilities. To a point, non?" There's a small shrug and she's still just taking things slow with her movements. She does reach up to hug one of Sunny's arms, however. "I would be happy to provide you with tips and pie. But your projects have me curious. What would you like help with?"

The light in Ariah's eyes is full of interest and fascination. "...I do not have many talents but I am good at the ones I possess. Perhaps, if all else, I may learn something new. That is what I enjoy doing. Experiencing new things."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
"I mean...to a point," she offers with a little blush, nodding lightly. "But...can you turn into a bat, or mist or..." she trails off, gesturing to herself. "Sorry..."

Overexcited, nervous, the girl is coming to look down at Ariah. She didn't mention that she was clearly more than 'normal', but she couldn't be sure that Ariah knew.

Ariah Olivie has posed:
"Mm?" Ariah asks, laughing. "...non, I cannot turn into anything. I apologize if that is... disappointing. But why do you motion to yourself?" she asks, tilting her head slowly. She watches, intent, and reaches up slowly to tangle fingers in that blonde hair. "...you seem nervous..." she whispers quietly.

Sunny Harlow has posed:
"I mean, it's the only place that I've seen things...." Sunny admits. "I mean...like movies, books...manga..." she trails off before blushing brightly at the tangling in her long locks. "Mmmm, it's just...strange to be talking about stuff like this, so openly. Y'know?"

Ariah Olivie has posed:
"When you have seen what you have seen, there is no going back on it," Ariah states softly. "Non, I am not like a vampire you know from books. There are those in this world who follow those rules, oui, but I am not one of them. I cannot turn into mist, or a bat... nor do I turn to a pillar of ash in the sunlight..." she rattles off a few things. "...I will not tell you my weaknesses, you must understand.. but I do trust you. Right here, right now, I am at my weakest..."

She sighs quietly. "...but. You. Are different, too. I could taste it."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
She was right, there was indeed no going back...but she could live with that. Instead, the blonde gives a little sheepish nod, even with a blush in consideration at the idea of being able to 'taste' she was different. It was an odd thought.

"Oh I uh...I'm..." she trails off before closing her eyes, exclaiming perhaps a little too loudly. "I'm an alien!"

Ariah Olivie has posed:
Ariah is patient. She has all the time in the world, in fact. At least until she dies. But she's absolutely endeavoring to not do that any time soon. That's part of why she's here tonight. In bed. Healing from scars. Her eyes go wide as Sunny speaks so loudly for a moment. Her hand comes up quickly, over the girl's mouth. "Shh.." she says softly.

Then slowly, she shakes her head, "...I see. Not uncommon here, is it? Many alien sorts. Many of them cute," she says softly. "...like you. Are very cute."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
"I don't think so," Sunny admits with a giggle, finding herself muffled for a moment before speaking again. "The only other of my species I've ever seen was a superhero who I don't know is even alive...and he was a big man with a moustache. I think we are...like people. Diverse..." she trails off, clearly blushing at the comment of her cuteness. "I think my mother, my birth mother, looked like me..."

Ariah Olivie has posed:
"Then she must have been beautiful," Ariah says simply. There's no hint of dishonesty or attempt at flattery. Her straight, near-deadpan tone is oft... so very straightforward and blunt. "Still, I wish you had not seen me like that as our first meeting. I was in very, very poor shape. Now that I am here in Gotham again, I must be careful while recovering." She rolls to her side slightly, curling her arms around Sunny's middle to hug her.

Sunny Harlow has posed:
"C-can I ask what happened to you then to have you...like you were?" Sunny asks after a moment, her own hands gently stroking against Ariah's midriff as she finds herself hugged. The comfort of viltrimite snuggles it seems, was true.

Ariah Olivie has posed:
Even through the blanket, Sunny will feel the roughness of where sutures are holding to flesh, as per her operation so recently. She doesn't wince or frown, though. She just blinks at the question, eyes closing. "...hunters... they know what I am, and they are getting more.. bold. Someone or something drives them and it has become dangerous for me in the Tri-City area. Others, too. But... it is my home. And I do not run. There are... more important things..."

She gives a warm squeeze to Sunny, "...I am not ready to yet be on the offensive... and many of them are simply... misguided at worst. But it does not lessen the danger for me."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Sunny nods slowly, gently listening and offering those reassuring pettings and gentle hugs. "They are hunting you because you are vampires...? You and the others I mean? I guess they're like the people that hates the mutants and...well, the more obvious aliens. Right?" There's a shake of her head from the blonde that causes the ponytail to bob.

"Crazy enough you can't talk them out of it."

Still she muses lightly, a little tilt of her head as her fingers danced over the stitches. "Did you...need some of my blood to heal up?"

Ariah Olivie has posed:
"Exactly that," Ariah says quietly. "One such as myself does not help, either. Myths and monsters. Vampires of legend. Terrible tyrants that change forms, bewitch mortals, and undead that murder with impunity while bathing in blood..." she murmurs. "...while mutants may be reviled for looking different or having strange abilities... the same for aliens.."

She shakes her head, "...so long as people exist, there will be prejudices. I have had to get very... violent with some, at times. I am a soldier, and at times, I will be the monster they wish me to be..." she trails off and closes her eyes, hearing the question come.

"...it is, perhaps, one of the reasons I requested you here. But, your companionship is just as valuable, if not as... physically sustaining."

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Sunny couldn't fathom the idea of the wars that Ariah had seen, anymore than she could even begin to dream of the truth of her species history rather than the story that she and the world had been told. That doesn't mean she wasn't going to hug tighter and give a soft little noise of agreement before the answer to the question comes and she nods. "I think I can do that...I just might need something to drink and eat afterwards."

Ariah Olivie has posed:
Ariah may share it, in time, if Sunny asks. She lifts her head some, turning it to nuzzle into the blonde's arm. "...of course. We should be able to order in... Surely there is something that we can order that will be to your liking?" the little witch asks. "You have helped me, and I would like to take care of you as best I am able." Those mismatched eyes close and she gently takes Sunny's arm into her hands, resting her cheek against it.

Sunny Harlow has posed:
Questions for another night, for now Sunny let her arm be taken towards Ariah's form before she closes her own eyes and giggles lightly. "I mean... Maybe a pizza or something with red meat?" She questions lightly before lazily biting her bottom lip. "Just something to...refill up, y'know?"

She was talking as casual as she could, but there were nerves underneath her tone.

Ariah Olivie has posed:
Absently, there's a nod along with the gentle nuzzling. Her focus is inching closer to that wrist, though. "...anything you want, ma chere. I do not want for money, and I am more than happy to care for you. Burgers, perhaps, then?" she asks, peering up at those pretty blue eyes. "I wish to express my appreciation, and be sure that you are not harmed," she says quietly, gazing intently. There's that shine in her eyes, and a softness in her expression. The hints of a smile the usually icy woman hides for most others. No matter the circumstances of their meeting at first, the girl is clearly something of a treasure to her.
