Cast of Characters: Kaida Connolly, Nadia Pym-van Dyne

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Keeping herself busy has been a big deal for Kaida as of late. She's been kinda diving into various forms of work to avoid people in general and keep her mind focused on various things. This is why she's currently in her lab space. A space that Nadia helped her to make. No pym particles though Pym technology has made it possible for her to have a lab space that is fully her size.

She zips about the space at speed that would make most people dizzy given her size. She watches as a small centrifuge (still big by her standards but only twenty percent the size of a full size one) for a moment before rushing over to burner and casually pulling out a testing strip and carefully dipping the normal sized strip into the beaker that is only barely big enough to take it. She pulls it out after ten seconds and watches the color change before she lets out a loud sigh and tosses it into a full size trash can over the side of the counter.

A moment later she is standing on the edge of a keyboard looking at a full sized laptop and crossing her arms while her right foot taps impatiently.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
One of the advantages to having Pym Particles is that generally speaking Nadia can be whatever size she needs to be at any given time. So it is that she has little trouble entering Kaida's laboratory where others might be completely unable to fit.

At first Nadia doesn't announce her entrance, just leaning in the doorway watching with her labcoat draped across her shoulders like a cape. "So, what are you working on?" She asks curiously after a few moments. Though it is also fair to say she has been concerned with how much Kaida has been overworking herself. Not that she's usually one to talk.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
It wasn't really a surprise for Kaida. With her ears she could hear someone breathing, their heartbeat. Her nose sniffed out the new arrival before anything else. She doesn't look back as she stomps a foot angrily as red highlights various things on the screen and then she lets out a slow breath. She looks back at Nadia and then looks back to the screen. She frowns before shaking her head.

"Did you know the leading cause of death among the homeless population is basically drugs?" She looks back at the screen, "People go down a dark path and they get stuck. Once they are on it, they stay on it and it is a spiral." She considers the screen, "A lot of people are homeless all because they are addicted and have no way to get through it or away from it. There's basically no cure other than rehab and even that isn't always successful."

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia nods her head as she listens. With Janet as a step-mother it is pretty much impossible to not be aware of drug related issues. Not that Janet suffers from them, though there was that time she accidentally wound up running a cartel... "Yeah, it is tough. Especially in Gotham working with the Outsiders I've run into it a few times. Always seems to be something new on those streets and the politicians just want to throw people in prison rather than actually helping them." She tilts her head to one side studying Kaida for a new moments. "I am guessing you have a better plan to help them?"

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"It's been a project I have been quietly working on ever since I got far enough along in Biochemistry." She looks at the screen and leaps to a few keys to send up a few variables and then scrambles over to another station to look at the centrifuge again. She watches it and then considers Nadia.

"Some people are on these things because of emotional or trauma issues. I can't fix all of that but what I can do is given people options. If I can find a way to fully remove the addiction in a way that is less dangerous than the current methods, they can choose. Choices are all we have sometimes. Addiction removes choices." She then sits on a stool and sighs as her tail wraps around one leg of it and she looks down at her feet, kicking one back and forth.

"I can fight all the bad guys in the world. Stand up to things a thousand, even a million times my size, but if I don't give the people I want to protect back their choices. Give them an opportunity to find peace. What's the point?"

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia smiles at her friend's enthusiasm for the cause. "Yeah, it is important for us to give people as many choices as possible. That is what Science! is for, to uplift people and make their lives better. I've struggled with the desire to 'fix' those around me in the past, but you're right we can't just do that. It's all about the choices we can give them and hopefully they will choose to be better and to find peace. But that's all we can really do in the end, give them back their choices.

She pushes off the door frame where she was leaning taking a few steps further into the lab. "Is there anything I can do to help? Or do you have your plan well in hand?"
