Cast of Characters: Pamela Isley, Sprite

Pamela Isley has posed:
Gotham is often slow to get spring, but even its gloom can't stop the march of time. As such the first early sprouts of green can be seen and with it the industrious ones are already looking to profit in the garden. There's a small cart with a young couple of men working diligently to sell to those brave enough to get that early sunlight. The cart is selling fresh edamame, a small selection of sushi and dango. There are a few looing to get this carts offerings and among them is a fair skinned redhead with a thing long sleeve top and tights on as she waits her turn.

Sprite has posed:
It's Daylight Savings Time...officially a stupid concept. It always was, really. By the time they were advanced enough to track time that closely, they weren't an agrarian enough society to need to do it. Instead, it's just a reason to have to lose an hour of sleep in the spring. So she isn't in her best headplace. The mostly-Japanese cart surprises her, though, and she'll move to fall in line behind the taller redhead, surprised at the thin attire, with as cold as it was today.

Pamela Isley has posed:
Ivy glances to the shorter woman that comes in behind her, but waits silently as the two men work to get at the few customers ahead of them. They're about a few people back when one of the guys says, "We're sold out of the dango and sushi, but will have more in about ten to fifteen minutes as we got some cooking. You are free to wait and if you do we'll give you a dollar off in apology." Ivy sighs and watches some leave but she seems content to stay. Softly she says to nobody, "at least it isn't a cloudy day."

Sprite has posed:
Sprite, of course, routinely checks the surface thoughts of the people around her, and so she looks around, a little more interested at some of what she's getting. She looks to Ivy. "Hoping for the sushi, the dango, or both?" she asks, curiously, by way of opening up conversation.

Pamela Isley has posed:
"The edamame and dango," answers Ivy as she glances to the woman. Her thoughts are how she's very ready for there to be more damn sunlight and she's just starting to shake off her seasonal depression she often gets. "What about you?" She doesn't comment on the girl's apparent age, it's Gotham after all.

Sprite has posed:
"I'm out people-watching more than anything." Sprite says. "But I do REALLY love edamame. It's really tasty." She looks up at the sky. "Hopefully we'll be getting some proper spring soon."

Pamela Isley has posed:
"It's a wonderful little plant. So many uses and tasty. I'm glad to see more people starting to use it." Especially as it is mostly being grown ethically and slowing down any problems of clear cutting land. Ivy glances up as well and smiles. "Yes. I could use with a nice long day in the sun. I debated a trip down south to the Amazon. I just didn't get the energy to travel." She looks over at the shorter woman. "What sort of people do you like to watch?"

Sprite has posed:
"Interesting ones." Sprite says, with a bit of a coy smile. "And at least we have some sun up there. So you're getting your wish?" she asks. "Interesting travel destination. Not one most people would pick."

Pamela Isley has posed:
"Oh I am far from most people. Besides I work with plants and if you want to study the exotic ones. You have to go where they are. Before the idiots burn it all down." The line shortens as Ivy is now next. "I"m glad to get the sunlight finally. Not just for me but for my work as well. Greenhouses," nodding to the one nearby, "can only do so much."

Sprite has posed:
Sprite looks amused as Ivy says that. "No, you're not." She's already checked Ivy's thoughts with her telepathy, which lets her know who she's talking to. She takes another step up towards the wagon with Ivy. "I admire someone willing to work on the environment here. Big cities like this tip the balance a little too far in the path of urban. Older cities often had a lot more focus on greenery."

Pamela Isley has posed:
Ivy is not minding the slow advance to the pair working on the cart that try to remake the food for those still in the line. "If only the world had more like you. At least some cities are starting to try and include more parks and think about more then just luxury apartments." She looks around at this city, "Gotham is older and shows that. More stone and this mix of older and newer. Both offer problems. Most people here wouldn't survive two days outside of a city and into anything like a raw nature setting."

Sprite has posed:
"Very true!" Sprite says. But she's getting an interested look on her face, like she's thinking of something. "You sound like you really know your plants." Well, duh. "What do you do for a living?" She asks after a moment, looking curious.

Pamela Isley has posed:
"I like to think I know more about plants then most anyone on the planet." She smiles at Sprite because Ivy likes plants. Duh! "Oh I'm a botanist. I work with plants." She looks at the young appearing woman to ask, "Why do you ask?"

Sprite has posed:
"Because, I just had a really curious idea." Her lips quirk in an amused sort of smile. "See, I have a lot more money than I have common sense. So I just thought up a project. If you're interested in a challenge, of course." It's the same sort of thing she's done with other people before.

Pamela Isley has posed:
Ivy of course turns to face the short woman, "you have my interest. I always enjoy a new idea and some sort of challenge." She can see their chance to place an order will be up very soon but honestly she just wants a snack. Ivy is enjoying the conversation more then she thought she might.

Sprite has posed:
The teen, or at least that's what she looks like. "So, the challenge would be to design...or to try to design working with some other people...a completely environmentally friendly, completely self-sustaining, home for someone within the city. Plants that could provide food...and enough of them or on a fast enough cycle that there'd always be something to eat. Zero or negative carbon footprint. If money wasn't an issue, could it be done."

Pamela Isley has posed:
Ivy is quiet as she thinks over it. "You're talking from foundation to completion then? I don't think you can do it with only plants. You'll need some creature comforts if it's to be a home. Getting pants to provide food and nutrition shouldn't be too hard. Heating and power is more then plants can normally handle." Her focus returns to Sprite, "How many residence in the home?"

Sprite has posed:
"1 permanent resident, but it should be able to support guests for a short term. And no, of course technology can be incorporated. The challenge would be to do so in an environmentally friendly way and maintain that zero to negative carbon footprint. And, of course, trying to do it while still making it appealing and the kind of place people would want to live in." She likes throwing these kind of challenges out there. It challenges people to make the world better, AND gives her neat things.

Pamela Isley has posed:
Ivy thinks over it and says, "I think I can manage it. Using bamboo for much of the flooring as it grows so fast and is strong. This is an interesting challenge." She looks at the girl and says, "Can you really back up the price that can come with developing a prototype like that?"

Sprite has posed:
"Of course I can. I can give you a deposit once you give me an idea of what you think the cost would be. Or a set amount as a retainer so you can start working on it."

Pamela Isley has posed:
Ivy pauses in any numbers or commitment as she steps up and says, "One dango and two orders of edamame for me." Getting some cash to pay for the food. "So One bedroom, bath and a half, with space for guests. I think to even seriously start this work I'd ask for at least a six digit figure to get started." She believes Sprite may have that money, but it is more about the paying to design it.

Sprite has posed:
"Cashier's check acceptable? What's your preferred method of payment?" The redhead teen smiles, asking with no hint of hesitation. "And I'll need to know how to get it to you."

Pamela Isley has posed:
"That's fine if you want to." Ivy is a little bit surprised at how casual Sprite answered the amount. She motions to the greenhouse near them, "I'm working and living out of that right now. You can just make it out to this name and bring it buy if you like." She will dig out a simple business card. "That has my name and some contact information on it." Fake name of course but still works for this.

Sprite has posed:
Sprite takes the card, and looks over it. She gives a smile. "Sounds good!" She looks to the cart owner. "Two orders of edamame, please." She'll hand over some cash to the stall owner. "And I'll have the money for you tomorrow. And then we can get going." She gives a wink. She has more money than she could spend in the rest of her lifetime. And given that her lifetime is "forever", that's a lot of money."

Pamela Isley has posed:
They two women can hang out as their orders get done. "Sounds like a good idea. Gives me some time to work on ideas to see if I can get at least an outline and some ideas for you to see." Ivy is already considering some ideas, "soar panels are a must of course. A good compost heap would be good to." She muses aloud as much as to Sprite.

Sprite has posed:
Sprite smiles. "That's the spirit." Her eyes twinkle. "Let it get your brain fired up. You have a chance here to make a dream home. Make it a good one." she offers.

Pamela Isley has posed:
"It may not be quite up to the desires of some of the higher tech minded modern people. But I think I can meet most reasonable needs." She takes her food as it is offered and quicky pops a pod in her mouth to enjoy it. "I should get to work if I can, and get ready to see you tomorrow." Also, she should hide some of the more strange and deadly plants. More then a few are best kept secret.
