Matthew Murdock has posed:
Daredevil was involved in quite a lot last night. Which meant not much sleep for lawyer Matthew Murdock. Enough so that he ended up calling in and having Karen reschedule his meetings to the rest of the week. It meant he'd be working longer on Saturday than intended. But trying to get a handle on people's problems when you're nodding off doesn't help them much and is a waste of everyone's time.

So it is that Matt is passed out on the couch. Wearing a pair of sweat pants, and a t-shirt which hugs his fit physique rather nicely. His head is on a throw pillow and his mouth is hanging open, though not snoring.

It makes him a perfect spot for Boxer. The cat has crawled up on Matt at some point. Lying on his upper chest with his head pressed in against the whiskers on Matt's chin. Occasionally rubbing his face on them, but mostly content to just lie there and doze with Matt.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's hump day. Meaning that Daisy will be coming in early today. And maybe, just maybe, she will cook dinner! Which means they might need a backup plan when it all goes haywire and she burns it up. But it's the thought that counts, right...?

And burned up rice...

A shadow is felt upon Matt and Boxer's perch. Daisy arriving. A brow arched at the cat, "That new bed we got you last month was a waste, wasn't it..?" is she talking to the cat? Yes! There's a smile to her lips though and she leans down to brush her hand over boxer's head before leaning in to place a kiss on Matt's forehead. Feather light as if trying to not disturb his rest.

And then she scampers over to the kitchen.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Boxer opens his eyes as the door opens and closes. Lifting his head into Daisy's familiar touch. He starts purring, the pleasing vibrations likely felt as much as heard if Daisy is paying much attention to such things.

Normally getting into the apartment without waking Matt would be difficult enough. That Daisy manages it this time suggests he's in deep sleep, and was very tired to boot. Though that little rumble of the purring cat draws his hand over even in his sleep. Resting it on the soft fur of the Russian blue.

Whatever he's dreaming, the soft kiss of Daisy's lips to his forehead seems like it must make it more pleasant. A little more a smile can be seen turning up the corner of his lips. Daisy makes it to the kitchen without waking him either.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
That Matt doesn't wake up is surprising but Daisy has come to expect those night activities. It's not like she doesn't get into danger in a daily basis. And she knows how a good nap can be restoring. It only means she will have to really get in that extra effort in getting dinner ready tonight.

How hard can it be, really?

But she will skip in actually preparing that sushi she'd been watching youtube videos to learn doing. Because that's a recipe for disaster right there. So she will go with something that her sister taught her, a chinese hamburger! Because Kora has been complaining non-stop about how non-authentic american chinese restaurants are.

And Daisy can't mess up preparing an hamburger, can she? How hard will it be?

A while later the smell of cooking meat will be felt.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
That Matt was both tired -and- hungry is what finally pulls him out of his dreams. Once that burger he's eating in the dream doesn't provide his body with the relief it wants.

He wakes slowly, the overwhelming rush of his senses hitting him in that first moment. The scents of Daisy, the food, the gun oil she used cleaning her weapon, the bakery she walked past on the way home, linger traces of the antiseptic cleaner they use at the Triskelion. The sounds of a television two floors down, footsteps that are heavy enough to be Mrs. Baker in her orthopedic shoes that make that particular creak. The steam traveling through the radiator. The buzz of the lights that would also tell him Daisy, or someone else who turns the lights on, is here.

The little rumbling purr of Boxer intensifies as Matt closes out all the sensory input except those he cares about much. "Mmm. Did I sleep all day? Or are you home early?" he asks quietly in his soft rumble of a voice. He thinks about rising, but decides to give Boxer a few more moments of lounging there.

Yeah, it's for Boxer's benefit.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
When the man you live with has quite the sensible taste to food one needs to adapt. Because it won't work to be putting so many chilli peppers in the burgers! So she goes with half tje amount! It mixes with the scent of onions, soy sauce, root ginger, garlic and of course pork belly.. Along with a generous dose of wine to soak it all up. For the dough she is just finishing to get it done in the oven when she hears Matt calling from the living room.

"It's dinner time already." She points out, "I didn't want to wake you up. I am imagining you had a full night last night." she is talking from the kitchen, in a low tone. She knows Matt will be able to hear it.

And then it's time to start doing the fill-ups of the dough with the actual meat and seasoning on.

Maybe she won't be burning it all this time!

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Daisy's reminder of his night causes Matt to shift just a bit, moving each set of muscles to find where - oh yeah, that's where the baseball bat was - he might be sore. He'll have to be careful not to appear too stiff. Though Daisy will see the bruise soon enough. Unless he gets the lights out tonight before taking his shirt off.

He gives Boxer a few more little scritches and then rises, keeping the cat in his arm as he makes his way over to the kitchen. "That smells really good, Daisy," he tells her. He can hear it cooking, so knows it isn't takeout. And to his benefit, Matt manages to avoid any notes of surprise sounding in his voice.

He moves over behind Daisy, his free hand circling her to rest on her flat belly as he nuzzles a little kiss to the back of her neck.

Though he steps back then to give her room. She doesn't need distractions when cooking!

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The pause between Matt actually getting up from the sofa and talking again after Daisy asks him about last night gets her to comment. "You know you can't hide your soreness from me, right?" casual tone. Matt isn't the only one with powers after all! And she knows him enough to be aware of when his vibrations aren't fully right. "So don't make me go poking." she threatens but there is little bite to her voice. She is mostly worried.

And also worried about dinner! Which Matt nearly messed up with by coming over from behind to tease her neck and body. She mmmms pleasurably, leaning back briefly against Matt and turning her head to place a kiss on his lips. A kiss that lingers for a while and when she gets back to her food ...

"Oh snaff..!"

She is quick moving the meat around. "Almost done, doing one of Kora's recipes. I will send her a pic later." she says with a grin. "With a before and after."

As the cooking is finally done she stuffs the meat and the rest of the seasoning into the pita bread. "Tadaaaa... And it doesn't smell burned for once.." and unlike Matt she sounds surprised with herself.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt weighs how best to answer Daisy. "I'm ok. Just a little sore. If they didn't get in a hit now and then, they would end up going to jail all embarrassed," he adlibs. Something from the Princes Bride, sort of. Which, yeah, that's a good movie to quote from to a hacker. Because people like Daisy never watched movies like the Princess Bride.

"It smells delicious. How is your sister doing anyway?" he asks. Matt moves over to get glasses and then to get a bottle of wine. Though he'd prefer the bottles they can't afford, the ones with phenomenal purity, his discerning palate does allow them to find a number of steals when it comes to low priced bottles.

He goes with a red, given it's beef, pouring some of the ruby liquid into each glass. "I guess it's my turn tomorrow then?" he comments of the food. Will it be pizza? Or other take out? There's a very good chance of it. Though he can cook, the senses actually make him rather adept at it. It's just a matter of time.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Really? Princess Bride's the best you got?" Daisy asks, the eyebrow arch felt instead of seen by the way she talks. The food is finally finished being prepared, then she plates it almost like she was in freakin' master chef. Because it's a special occasion that she actually cooked for once!

"She's good, spending some time in Afterlife now with mom. Making up for lost time.." she smiles fondly. "Sending me constant messages about how weird things are in the 21st century."

"You don't have to." She says about cooking, "Not sure I can handle two days in a row with our cooking.." a laugh following as she sets the food down on the table.

Boxer is already hovering and looking for his share.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt Murdock moves over to the fridge and opens it to pull out a plastic container. When one of his clients heard he had a cat, some of the non-monetary payment was a mix of food they put together for their pets. It's all normal food, not dried kibbles like are sold in the food. Yet things that animals enjoy.

The cat-sized portion is dispensed. Matt will probably let Boxer lick his plate clean when he's done, so long as Daisy isn't looking. "Well, it's not like I'm in a profession where you have to come up with pithy and clever sayings- wait a minute," says the lawyer as he sets the food bowl down for Boxer, then joins Daisy at the table.

He takes her hand. "It does smell wonderful," he confirms to her. Then pauses for a moment to say a quiet prayer before he's ready to eat. "Tell her, and your mother, that I said hello, next you talk, won't you?"
