Cast of Characters: Kate Kane, Helena Bertinelli

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate's doing what Kate does best. Ignoring that little voice in her head that tells her caffeine and willpower aren't actually a replacement for sleep. She could probably make due with reading the file she's perusing while sitting down in a comfortable chair, or god forbid, laying on a couch. But instead she's balancing her tablet on the handle bars of an elliptical machine, legs pumping steadily, breath slow, deep. She's not working out at her usual 'Trying to prove something' rate. It really /is/ relaxation and something to keep her blood pumping while she scans line after line, page after page on a Saturday night where she /could/ be out living up her playgirl reputation at some charity gala or bar. But no, she's reading up on goddamn dinosaurs. Gotham crimefighting. Always something new.

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Helena Bertinelli says, "Well this is a first, I think.." Helena's voice carries a teasing tone.

"Working lunch?" she jokes further as she walks in. She's in her under armor, having returned from patrol not long before.

Moving over, she leans on the wall near Kate's bike. "Things going okay?"

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate looks over her shoulder, eyes narrowing, "What, me reading? Because it's /not/ my first time riding an elliptical. Cardio is important, Bertinelli. You know it just as much as I do.

She grins lopsidedly and shakes her head. "Reading up on dinosaurs. Fossils, living ones, it's... I had /two/ things about dinosaurs come up in 48 hours. Harper took out a Dinosaur auction... uhh, like, fossil auction. But found out there's... dinosaurs in the Antarctic. Don't tell anyone I told you."

She frowns thoughtfully at the /real/ question. "They're alright. I mean, I'm here. Got out of the penthouse for something other than patrol. That's... good, right? How're you?"

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Helena Bertinelli says, "Oh sure. Sure. -Very- important.." she agrees good naturedly.

"Dinosaur gangs. Just what we need.." A wry smirk turns serious. "There.. are dinosaurs in the Antarctic? Since.. when? If you say since the Cretaceous Period I'm going to shoot you myself" she threatens.

"Yes. Getting out is a good thing. More so for things other than patrol." She nods. "I've been well. Busy between classes and patrols. Never a dull moment for us, eh?"

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate snickers and shakes her head, "No no, not dinosaur gangs. Not going to be seeing Killer Croc with an army of... T-Rex Teens?" She quirks her lips in a little 'God, I can't believe that sounds possible' grimace. She sighs out and shakes her head. "No, it was like... triads I think, auctioning off fossils. I just wanted to see how Harper handled it. She did good."

She glances over and grins, "Oh, no, I think they're... genetically engineered dinosaurs or something. I uhh... skimmed the email. Really skimmed."

She perks her eyebrows up and laughs softly, "Oh no, I mean, banking and finance on my side, classes and teaching on yours? And our nights stuck dealing with crime? We've got very well-balanced lives. We're doing /great/, friend. That's why we're up in the small hours of the night, and you... just finished patrol, didn't you?" She clicks her tongue sharply, tablet tapped to lock the screen and she shifts to slide off the elliptical, "Okay, that's enough reading for me. We're going to... I dunno, watch TV? Eat something? Socialize."

Helena Bertinelli has posed:
Helena Bertinelli almost looks disappointed at the lack of dinosaur gangs.

"Croc with any dinosaurs would be terrifying."

"Harper has a good head for this. She just feels like she's, maybe, second or third tier when she needs to realize she's on the same level as the rest of us. I think she'll get here."

"Yes. Great. Sure." she nods dryly. "One day *I* will feel like I am.." she sighs and shrugs. "TV? Sure. I've already been out. I'm off the clock now." as if any of them are ever really off the clock. But a girl can pretend, right?

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate snorts softly and rolls her eyes, "Yeah, well, Croc with dinosaurs, or just a bunch of lizard guys would /both/ be terrifying if he had the intelligence to put those resources to work. So we'll have to thank our lucky stars."

She nods and grins, "Yeah, her and Bette both. They both think they're shaky legged fawns stumbling around for their first steps. Don't realize they're almost running already."

And as Kate sweeps over to Helena, her eyes narrow, green irises flashing with wicked intent. "Okay, cooking competitions or home decorating? Time to pick your fate, Helena. I am /not/ watching science fiction after reading that much about dinosaurs. C'mon, let's make all that money Babs spend on sound systems worth it." And off the redhead springs towards the nearest TV and couch.
