Synopsis:	Gwen and MJ meet to talk about what's going with all the clones and Peter's strange behavior.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
How does a spider trap a readhead?

By inviting them over of course. With an offer of snacks. No one can resist snacks, can they? But then again there had been a talk of meeting up later to talk about all that had happened at the labs. And what was going with Peter.

So it's early evening when the time for the meet comes by. Over at Gwen's place. She is waiting inside, pair of yoga pants on and a tank top. Hair is up on a bun and she has been walking back and forth while waiting for MJ to arrive. After getting the snacks ready that is!

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Snacks are a very good thing. Mary Jane's done her own snooping on the matter - at least for what she has within the SHIELD database. She's not had any particular luck wtih it, but she's taken out a small download with whatever she's dug up as she goes in to meet.

"Hey Gwen, how you doing?" Snacks are definitely the best encouragement!

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Come in, come in." Gwen greets her friend, closing the door after her. She gestures for them to go to the living room where a small table has been set with snacks. Including chocolate ones! Mmm, chocolate. But no Venom.

"I tried getting in contact with our ..., new friend. But no luck." Not for lack of trying. Gwen had attempted to call during the last few days but no cigar. "I suppose he will get to us when he -feels- like it." bit of sarcasm to her voice. Because really, he had invaded Oscorp and accused one of their doctors of doing abhorrent experiments. And that didn't go well with Gwen. Yet she wasn't discarding that there might be truth behind it.

"And .., I am okay." She lifts her shoulders in a shrug. "Peter's still gone. It's part of why I invited you here today too."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would slide in, "I wouldn't call him a friend, particularly. He's someone we have to keep an eye on. He's someone who needs help.. And I'm worried what's going to happen with him if he keeps being on his own and what he's going to do to other people."

She would go to sit down over and gaze over the snacks. "You didn't have to, but thanks. And I've tried getting in touch with him. No luck. May's not passed along anything. I tried to make sure I didn't say anything that might cause her to worry."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Yea ..." Gwen presses her lips together at the mention of May, brushing some blonde hair out of her face and behind a ear, "I spoke with her some, was a bit evasive but I think she read it." she admits, "She's a lot smarter than we give her credit sometimes." she reaches to pick up a chocolate cookie, tossing it into her mouth.

Nothing like smoothing out worries with chocolate.

She sits by the couch and lets out a sigh, leg pulled under her, "So, first things first. What was the story with that guy?" she asks. "You met him by chance? Do you think he speaks true on having been an experiment from Oscorp?"

Another cookie.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would take a bite over from the cookie, "Very broadly. Not the specifics. I know he does mercenary work, I was pretty sure before confirming it he was a clone. I'd seen him a couple of times in passing before I had a chance to fully takl to him." A bite o fher own cookie is taken.

"Very little beyond some assumptions that I was able to confirm when meeting him. A lot of it was.. He moves like Peter does. But he's bigger than Peter. Even other people with the.. Same abilities move differently." That bit came from Sonja.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Mercenary, mmmm." Gwen considers it for a few moments, leaning back on the comfy couch and folding her arms, the half-bitten cookie playing over fingertips, "That's different from what I expected, he may not be an exact clone. Or rather, he has different traits. Of course that it could all be due to upbringing. If he actually had one. Yet Dr. Warren is an expert in Genetics, he could had been playing God, moving things here and there to make a very specific type of spider powered clone."

A frown starts to come over to her features, "Someone that would kill for him." seems she might be starting to buy the story.

"We need to figure out what we are going to do about that though."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would nod, "I didn't know he was from Oscorp or.. Anything. A lot of guesswork. And he works for whomever pays him. I think he's done some pretty nasty things on the job. He may have to to keep himself alive." She would frown over. "And we have to figure out how we move after Doctor Warren. And.. If he's using Oscorp's facilities.. Making clones and doing that level of genetic testing requires a lot of resources. You can't really hide that sort of thing."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"I didn't know about it. And I am interning at the Genetics department at Oscorp." Gwen points out, the small frown still on her expression, "I think if Mr. Osborn knew about it he'd shut it down. It's an idea, I could try talking to him." she mulls it over on her head. "Yea, I will do that."

"And if I can snatch some info on what facilities he's using I can bring it to you so we can move in." She says, thoughtful.

"Now, about the other matter.." She gets up to her feet and goes over to her room for a few. When she returns she has a folder which she hands over to MJ. Inside are various photos, taken by an apparently hidden camera at a neighborhood. They show Spider-Man fighting against some thugs, then stumbling at some unknown thing and disappearing from view.

"These were taken the night before Peter started acting weird and disappeared. He was using the camera I got for him on christmas."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would fold her hands together, "The thing is you can't -hide- that amount of work and resources. If he has a full cloning lab setup where he's making people, that's going to take a ton of support internally. So it should be raising some flags within Oscorp. Even hte head of a department can't hide tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars in cloning eqiupment, much less making full blown humans. So either most of his work isn't in OScorp and he has other resources.. Or someone's helping to cover for him."

Mary Jane goes to look at the pictures and goes to scan them. "HE was ambushed."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Could be." Gwen says in agreement about that with a slow nod, "Maybe he has another lab in the city. Something to investigate." she admits. Even if she doesn't seem to believe that higher ups would cover for him when she says. "He may only have done that one instead of a lot of clones. We'd know if there were that many clones prowling about..."

She isn't sure if she should count Ben Reilly there or not.

Gwen then nods at the conclusion MJ gets about the pictures. "Seems like it, but I don't know how." she looks thoughtful. "He was back home that night. Sure, he seemed tired but nothing too out of the ordinary. It was in the morning that things changed."

She shakes her head to herself, as if recalling those memories were painful. "And now he's gone."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would tap her hands together, "We'll have to.. Ask our.. Associate a bit more. He might have gone to Oscorp because he was after Warren.. Or because there was enough materials there for him to nab the things he needed to stabilize himself. Were they genetic samples of himself or just some sort of resequencer to stabilize himself?" Because if oscorp had genetic material of Peter onhand that was a very, very bad thing.

"And.. If Peter had been beaten raw or exhausted you'd have seen it or May would have remarked. He's really open about when he's overloaded on something."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"He only came home a long time later after these images were taken." Gwen remarks, lips pursed in thought, "And he didn't even remember to bring the camera with him, he just left it at the alley. I found it a couple of days later." she is pacing about the room now. "What if he was indeed ambushed and something was done to him? Something he was unaware of..."

"Because in the morning it was almost as if he wasn't himself anymore. It was like he was someone else. And when I found him as Spider-Man a few days after..."

She just shakes her head.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would nod over at Gwen and frown, "And neither of us has any idea -what-." She would rub at her temples. "I don' tknow, maybe mind control?" To her that's the likeliest sort of thing for why he might have started acting differently and not replied to anyone.

"Magic?" Wouldn't that end up the same sort of thing though?

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Mmmm..." Gwen turns her nose at the mention of mind control, or magic. She's a science girl! Even if she may have come here from another alternate universe. But that's details. And it was due to science! ... She thinks..

"Well, we need to find him too, bue he's proving hard to find." she looks over her shoulder at MJ. "Did you hear about what he did to Paste Pot Pete?"

"Sent him right to intensive care after caving in his chest. That's not like Peter.."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would shiver, "Something's definitely wrong. So something's changed him, or.." She would frown in thought. "What if it isn't him? Or just someone in his costume doing things? If we haven't seen them we have no guarantee it's actually Peter doing it. If there's someone else underneath the mask.." SHe's trying to throw out ideas here that mean it's -not- Peter.

And that something terrifying hasn't happened to him
