Date of Scene: 14 April 2023
Location: Robbinsville - Bleake Island
Synopsis: Look at how much Kori and Meg have in common!
Cast of Characters: Meggan Puceanu, Koriand'r

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
Commuting generally sucks. Even amenities like the Hyperloop between New York City and Gotham take time a girl can't spare and money she doesn't have. Those tickets prove spendy for a student scraping by. Heroics doesn't really translate into an income.

Besides, it's far more environmentally friendly to take to the sky. At least when the girl in question has an emissions-free ride.

Waterproofed and battered rucksack in tow, Meggan flies along the Jersey coast headed for the cool grey pinnacle of the Cape Carmine Lighthouse. She keeps fairly tight to the waves to partly disguise the long stream of golden light that trails in her wake. Batman and the fam aren't exactly known for welcoming supernatural activity in their city. She tries to respect that, but being home in time for lunch and getting coursework done means cutting some corners. Like most of New Jersey.

Not many beachgoers brave the sands, probably due to a large number of freighters, boats, and ferries cluttered around the port. Commotion around the fueling dock draws bored onlookers from the shore. Beats being a criminal lookout to make sure one of the crime family's goods get stored properly on the right boat headed to shady ports of call.

Koriand'r has posed:
To be fair, one could argue it was unknown if Koriand'r even knew how to drive a car. She was almost exclusively known to be a passenger or...well, to fly.

When you were bright orange skinned and your hair was glowing bright, it tended to get rid of any need for being subtle -or- any chance of a secret identity. Thanks to her relationship with the Titans her presence in Gotham was usually tolerated even if it wasn't always liked...at least as long as she didn't get in the way of the Bat.

For the moment? She was on her way across the skyline, headed back towards directions unknown.

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
Many benefits to going about on foot or the wing, exercise foremost among them. For Meggan, speed proves invaluable.

She veers sharply away after passing one of the tiny rocky outcroppings loved only by birds and the occasional seal, given the midden and stench of droppings coming from it. The searing trail follows her, a streak as luminous as a comet crossing the sky. /That/ comet crossing the sky.

Rolling to her side, the Tuath de Danaan sends a most curious look up into the heavens, plotting not only is it day, but that actually isn't a comet or meteor coming to end the reign of humanity in a manner befitting the dinosaurs back before the K-T boundary. Her glowing green eyes narrow in an effort to spot what causes that luminous stream, and thoughts of completing an assessment on the damaging geopolitical policies in West Africa contributing to high birthrates and relocation to immensely overtaxed urban centres no longer seems quite so appealing. To be fair, it wasn't appealing in the first place, but any port in a storm.

What to do about the book bag? She's too far from the lighthouse, so bodily alters her trajectory to go soaring up heavenward after Koriand'r, like you do.

When she gets closer to catching up, maybe she'll figure out who it is -- alien or cousin?

Koriand'r has posed:
When you were one of the few human-shaped things in the airspace, you tended to notice when something else is up there with you. Of course, there was a thing flying up towards her, that was enough to turn said comet on her own tragectory and bring her to a hover, turning her own green eyes towards the new approacher with a curious gaze alighting fair features.

Friend or foe? Well, at least they hadn't opened with attacking her out of the blue, which was usually a good sign!

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
No invisible jets or Thor riding the lightning. Gotham airspace largely belongs to Wayne Enterprise helicopters, commercial planes, and the occasional Bat-shaped device totally unrelated to the aforementioned groups. Clearly!

Meggan doesn't accelerate at a screaming speed toward the other flying woman up there. She takes a desultory pace, for her, one hand keeping that swirling golden mane out of her face. something of a hopeless task given crosswinds and buffeting, but it acts as a waving banner. The fact a smile graces her countenance certainly seems to harbour no cruel intent, more a brimming fascination.

"Hullo!" Mark her as a descendant out of the British isles, somewhere in them. Vaguely Scotto-Welsh-ap-BBC. "I see you're most definitely not my cousin Llyr! Sorry if I gave you a start!"

Koriand'r has posed:
Well, at least Meggan was talking a language that Koriand'r already understood...that was probably for the best, since Tamaranian translation techniques tended to raise eyebrows on Earth. Still, with Meggan drawing upwards and blonde meeting red there is a tilt of her head and a polite smile from Koriand'r before she shakes her head.

"No...all of my Cousins are all of Tamaran. At least, to my knowledge."

A beat, she gestures to herself with a smile. "I am Koriand'r, although on this world I am known as 'Starfire'."

No need to be coy when one looked quite obviously not-human like Kori

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
Tamaranian translation methods are mildly better than Meggan's variety, which might raise genuine questions about that actual link of cousins. She more or less resembles a human woman, striking by any standard, though the leaf-green eyes glowing the phosphorescent green of spring waiting to be unleashed and those delicately pointed ears give her away.

Her fingertip touches her mouth, and then the bell-bright laugh ripples into the air."Starry night, I oughta have guessed that straightaway. I've seen you online and on the telly, though usually a snap and not a video," she admits, shaking her head at herself.

"I'm Meggan. Gloriana if it's time for codenames and all that. I definitely get why they like to call you Starfire, you're wonderfully radiant." A flick of her wrist indicates the remaining lambent trail, and it certainly invites a curl of wind to wrap spontaneously around her wrist like a particularly affectionate puppy."Didn't interrupt you, did I? It's a lovely day, I wouldn't want to keep you from larking about or enjoying it."

Koriand'r has posed:
...Was Meggan still speaking English after all. Some of those words were definately new to her! Still, a blink, she shakes her head after a moment and shrugs her shoulders. "I have been visiting a friend," she offers lightly before gesturing to the city scape. "Then I was looking for a small cafe where they had the tarts that are sweet I tried once, but I had just given up when I saw your approach."

A beat, she tilts her head. "What about you Meggan? What brings you out here?"

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
Perils of being British and married to the warlock who spent too much time in Hell. Definitely has its consequences on her diction and vocabulary. Meggan can also swear creatively, though not nearly as well as John does.

She does, however, listen very well. Not so much as a peep out of her while Kori speaks, listening to every sound and probably a bit beyond that. Curse of empathy, sometimes feelings come across louder and clearer than what people say. "I was headed to the lighthouse." A gesture indicates the Gotham Baroque-styled tower teetering off a stony causeway north of the port proper, withstanding the admittedly mild Atlantic. "Not many sailboats or speedboats out today, but never know when someone needs help. Not so exciting as tarts, though. Were they fruit or custard? Chocolate?"

A low, rippling laugh arises once more. "I may know pastries a bit too well."

Koriand'r has posed:
"They were a...jam? Jelly? Jello? I am unsure. They were red and tasted of sweets," she offered in explaination, Kori's features probably seeming to broadcast her consideration. Megan might be able to pick up on emotions, but Starfire? Well, she wasn't exactly the hardest being to read. Positivity personified as many of the other Titans referred to her, she was practically beaming at the shared appreciation of pastry and good intentions. "Are people often in need of rescue out here?"

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
"Sweet and red, that's good enough of a reason to check," Meggan nods in firm agreement. "A strawberry tart's very popular in summer. With luck you will find your cafe! If not, at least a treat for your efforts."

Kori might be positivity powerful enough to light up a lunar colony, and the blonde will happily intensify that as a mirror. She glances over the waves in case somehow she missed a yacht going under or some Bat-shaped kayak crashing into a rock, and seeing none, returns to the conversation. "Surprising, they are. Sometimes it's boat problems, sometimes it's a criminal trying to steal people to sell somewhere. I don't like those ones." A mild response for the viciousness said traffickers probably receive from the Tuath de Danaan, but spring tempers her moods to buoyant and bright. "Gotham's got crime and sometimes it's on the sea. The invasion of the deep sea monsters was particularly exciting though. They smelled awful when they came up."

Koriand'r has posed:
"Oh! Invasions of Sea Creatures? I have seen such things. Both the things with teeth and tentacles, and the fish with their metal forks who were quite unpleasent in odor and attitude alike." She lists off, though the list of strange that they deal with is probably not all that small for the Titans. "But you are looking for smugglers and pirates?"

Meggan Puceanu has posed:
"Fish with metal forks?" Meggan's eyes widen slightly and she inclines her head. "Were they very large? I've seen sea monsters as large as a tower downtown, and ones with too many teeth, tentacles, and eyes too. The giant crabs and the mutated squid were mostly something to fight under the water. Atlantis sometimes tracks them this far."

Titan business probably involves much worse than Kori says, and there will always be a heap of problems waiting to be solved by their coordinated efforts. "I look for ships in trouble, mostly. Smugglers and pirates tend to be secretive, but the water often tells me when they're about." Just as normal as you please... yapping to the waves.

Koriand'r has posed:
"They were very large and very bad-tempered," Kori offers with a nod before the other comment brings a little smile from the alien princess. "Then I should leave you to your duties and your protections, but if you are wishing to enjoy the tarts with me some time? You are welcome to do so Meggan."

With that? She smiles and offers a little wave of her hand....before farewells were exchanged and she was headed off across the sky!
