Racing Day... Motorcycles, Not Horses
Date of Scene: 24 April 2023
Location: Pittsburgh International Race Complex - Pennsylvania
Synopsis: Eabha Aine and Evan have a need, a need for speed... though Evan does manage to bounce down the track on his face... don't worry, it's not even a flesh wound!
Cast of Characters: Eabha Aine, Evan Sabahnur

Eabha Aine has posed:
The idea of going some place where high speeds were a legal possibility has been playing in Eabha Aine's mind since their birthday. Going out for a burger with Evan on the Ducati had made them realize just how boring it was to own a bike like that and keep it at street speeds, they had a need, a need for speed.

They'd talked to a few friends, their parents and of course those in charge at the school then made arrangements to 'rent' the Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Pennsylvania for a day, hired a pilot for her kelly green helicopter, and invited Evan to join her for a day of learning racing bikes and speeding on the available track. There would be lunch served picnic style for them and the entire crew at the tracks, and dinner at a nice restaurant afterwards, then they'd sleep over at a nice hotel in separate rooms, and head back to school on Sunday morning via the same helicopter. It would be a perfect weekend... well, hopefully.

Waiting now on one of the lawns, the copter reported being ten minutes out. She had a single carry on suitcase, she really didn't need more than that despite the idea that woman needed a lot of luggage to travel.

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Evan was enjoying the friendship he had with Eabha, the first one that his obvious mutation hadn't affected, since she was one too. In fact, he had been coming more and more out of the shell he never realized he was hiding in, because it had been there since he made his first appearance in public. A school full of mutants run and staffed by mutants was the most freeing environment he had ever been in, because he could finally just be himself.

And so, a few minutes before the appointed time, he came walking across the lawn to join Eabha with a gym bag in one hand. He didn't feel like digging out suitcases, and the bag held more than enough for a weekend.

"Hi Eabha Aine, how are you both doing today? This should be fun, I've never ridden in a helicopter before."

He arrives beside them and puts the bag down while scanning the sky to see if he could spot the incoming chopper.

Eabha Aine has posed:
The chosen carry on suitcase was sitting in the grass with the long handle sticking up, though neither of their hands was presently holding it. Eabha Aine was checking her phone for the millionth time, following the report of the pilot by the minute. GPS was an amazing thing.

As Evan approached they looked up with a huge smile on their face. "We're great, well I'm great, Aine wants it clearly known that we're having shrimp and lobster for dinner," Eabha replied, letting Aine deal with the phone now. It was likely odd to have one eye looking at the phone and the other looking at him, but he'd get used to it in time.

"Eight minutes out, from the north," Aine offers before Eabha reaches for the handle of the suitcase to pull it closer, more of a nervous habit than it being too far away. "I've been in lots of planes, but only a couple helicopters, and this one, well... its a converted Sikorsky S-76C, but what makes it special is it's shiny emerald green."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
With a chuckle he replies, "Well, I can't see how that could be a problem, unless you hate shrimp and lobster. Otherwise I'm sure we can find somewhere with good seafood."

He looks in the indicated direction, but with eight minutes to go, the helicopter wouldn't be visible about the treeline yet.

"I wanted to thank you for inviting me, it's not everyday you get invited to fly somewhere for a weekend of high speed motorcycles and gourmet food. You might be spoiling me just a tiny bit."

He turned his attention from the sky to grin at her as he spoke, the expression lighting up his face. Yes, this is a very different Evan from the shy kid who tried not to attract attention to himself when they first met. His expression turns to faux shock as he says "Really? You own something green?!? I am totally surprised, like seriously."

Eabha Aine has posed:
Aine continues to watch the GPS location and rolls one eye, her eyes, the left one at Evan's comment about food. "We love lobster and shrimp, but not everyone does," Aine offers, attempting to be more social at her sister's demand, but then she's right back to ignoring the whole thing.

"She's right, we do love them... alone, together, all the the time... nothing like sea crustaceans with butter," Eabha continues, giving her sister a proverbial pat on the back for trying. "I don't know about spoiling... though I suppose it could be seen as spoiling."

There is another internal debate between the twins, Aine getting to win this one because she was right. Externally there is rarely any indication of the conversations or fights, that is unless they start hitting themselves, which has happened.

"Green is a fantastic color!" They finally chirp with a laugh, to change the subject. "It's the color of healthy living things, and lime Skittles. Okay, yes, we do own too much green... oh well for you."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Smiling at having successfully have teased the girls Evan tells them, "Nah, it makes sense. Green is a great color for a redhead, it really complements you. And not everything you own is green, so I think you're both safe from being accused of too much green."

He cocks his head slightly to the side, then says "I think I hear it coming. Good thing we've seen a few other helicopters land out here or we'd have had to take a road trip just to get to the helicopter."

A moment later the helicopter in question appears over the treeline, but still a goodly way out. Evan picks his bag up even though the Sikorsky hasn't landed yet, he's seen enough movies to get the ides that there's about to be a lot of wind, and he doesn't want to have to chase the bag across the lawn once the rotor wash catches it.

Eabha Aine has posed:
"We also like blues," Eabha Aine explains with a soft snort over his teasing, but it's all taken in stride. "And yes, that is actually both of us. I like darker blues, Aine likes lighter blues, but we both agree that all blues are good with green."

Latching onto the handle of their suitcase as the helicopter comes into sight in the distance, there is a bounce in place of excitement. "This lawn is always large enough for a chopper to land, so even if we hadn't seen others land here, we might of tried to convince the school to let one land here, the nearest airport is New York City after all." They were educated yes, but all knowing about all the places a helicopter could land, not so much. A large enough parking lot in Salem Center would likely have worked as well, but she didn't really know that.

As they continue to bounce in place the helicopter makes it way closer to the landing spot, which really the twins have no idea how the pilot knew that spot behind 'at the school' but then she had made sure to find a mutant pilot with a clue, other wise revealing the location of the school would have been very, very bad.

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Evan nods, "I'll keep that in mind if I ever buy you something, it gives me a little more leeway." As the helicopter passes overhead and turns to land, he holds a hand up in front of his face to avoid the various flying bits of debris that the rotor sends flying in every direction. Once it lands and the rotors start to wind down, he says "I think we should be ok now. Just remember to duck a little to be safe."

He heads for the helicopter, crouching a bit once he reaches the edge of the rotors. The pilot hops out and opens the door leading into the cabin as well as a cargo compartment in the side of the chopper where their bags are stored. Evan hops into the cabin and then offers the girls a hand climbing in.

Once both passengers are in seats, the pilot makes sure all the doors are safely closed and climbs back into the cockpit, flipping switches and just generally getting the helicopter back off the ground and headed for Pittsburg.

Looking around the cabin he shakes his head. "This is a serious amount of luxury" he says while settling back into the comfortable seat "And there's no question now, I definitely could get too used to this." He peers out the window as the school falls away beneath them and fades into the distance. "Have you used it much before?"

Eabha Aine has posed:
Moving across the lawn and into the helicopter, there is /a lot/ of excitement in Eabha Aine's movements, but she keeps herself low to avoid losing any parts of her body and accepts Evan's hand to get in.

As he asks about the use of this particular own item, they blush a soft rose in the cheeks. "Uh... not much," they offer, chewing a little at their bottom lip. "In fact, since we can't fly it, this is kind of the first time we've used it for this purpose, I mean... for luxury." She opens a small fridge and pulls out a bottle of iced tea, offering it to Evan. If he accepts she gets one for herself, other wise she keeps that one.

"During the emergencies in New York City, we donate use of it to the city for evacuations. Aine intends to learn how to pilot it once we finish High School, but it really was an impulse buy of something we didn't really need. We try not to do that too often."

It was was easy to say they tried, but it was difficult at times to logically stop from purchasing something they wanted. Wanted however, was entirely different than, 'oh it's green!' and buying a million dollar helicopter. Thankfully the purchase had in fact made their parents have a 'talk' with them and they agreed to be far more thoughtful in the future.

"We try to donate our time, our money, and our tools to those in need when we can," they continues, opening the iced tea for a drink. "We don't want to be seen as a spoiled rich brat, because we aren't. We both worked very hard for our money, and our parents have instilled a need to justify purchases... well, now they have."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
With a laugh, he accepts the tea. "Ah, that must have been a fun talk. But then, every once in a while I think it's ok to spend some of the money you earned on impulse purchases." He looks around the cabin, "Maybe not this big an impulse, but what's the point of having money if you can't enjoy it a little? I mean, I think it's awesome that you do so much to help people, but sometimes you have to take care of yourselves too."

He opens the tea and takes a sip, then slips it into the cup holder in his seat's arm. "Besides, when you get really famous you'll both need a way to travel that doesn't get all snarled up in traffic, so really you're just a little ahead of yourselves."

"I hope that I can find something worthwhile to do after I graduate, right now I'm just taking the basic college prep classes. It's a little strange, but I don't really have any idea what it is I want to do. My parents are both geologists, but while I find that kind of interesting, it's not something I really want to spend my time doing."

He shrugs and looks out the window again as they climb into the sky. "I keep hoping some class I take will just 'click', you know? But it just hasn't happened yet. It probably doesn't help that I'm so far advanced that I should probably be in college already, but I do need the high school diploma before I can jump into college."

"How about you? I mean, between your family and your modeling, you're pretty much set as it is. I'm guessing you don't actually need to work another day in your life as long as you stop impulse buying aircraft."

Eabha Aine has posed:
Moving over to sit beside him, Eabha Aine looks out the window at the world passing by. She's seen the view a few times in her life, not precisely Westchester to Pittsburgh, but the world from above.

"Our mhamo O'Leary sort of urged us into this particular purchase," they offered with a gesture the cabin and a laugh. "Her exact words, translated of course, were, "We have more money than God child, use it!" They continued to chuckle as they took another sip of the tea.

"Finding what you want to do with your entire life is a bit overwhelming, don't you think?" They then ask, looking back to him. "What happens if you decide that you want to do what your parents do, then you do all that work at school and suddenly it's not what you want any more? Find what speaks to you Evan, make sure it's screaming in your ear, and don't be afraid to take as long as you need to find that thing. In the mean time while you're waiting for something yell at you, learn everything you can get your hands on because you never know."

They looked back out the window with a soft sigh. "We could of never learned a single useful thing and would never have had to worry about it," they state quietly. "The modeling isn't forever, it's the start toward being an actress and musician. Aine wants to sing, I want to act... so we'll be doing both. We want to actually earn our own way and not rely on family money."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
"That's really cool. Too many kids would be all 'I'm rich, I don't ever have to work' when they come from your level of money." A number of talks the three had while in the rec room or roaming the grounds had given him a pretty good idea about just how much the twin's family had. 'More money than God' was probably a good approximation.

He lets out a quiet laugh and says "Maybe I'll figure out some useful stuff I can do with my abilities and join the Avengers or something. Right now finding out all I can do is kind of at the front of my head all the time."

Looking back over at them he says "Bheadh ionadh ort faoi chuid de na rudai is feidir liom a bhainistiu nuair a chuirim mintinn chuige." (You'd be surprised at some of the things I can manage when I put my mind to it.)

"Gaelic seemed like a kind of fun challenge, so I took a week and a half and learned it. And you don't have to wonder why in my old school I was not only funny looking, but a nerd as well."

Eabha Aine has posed:
It's all fun and games until a cute boy says it only took a week and a half to learn a difficult language like Irish Gaelic.

Both of Eabha Aine's eyes go wide in surprise, which means he officially shocked both girls, and then there is some stammering of, "Ho... how... week and a half..." before at least one of them manages to get their brain to reengage.

"That... was... perfect pronunciation," is said first and there is still some shock in their tone. "We grew up speaking it and there are times it sounds wrong, but you... just a week and a half? Dang Evan, we're really beginning to believe there's just nothing you can't do."

Now they take a moment to fully collect themselves, hold a small conversation between them that is one point to Eabha for being right about something, and the smile returns bright and cheerful on their face. "Finding out everything you can do /should/ be at the front all the time. We don't get why parents are constantly on us about going to college the second we finish High School, it's not like the college is going anywhere. Ever notice that about parents, or is it just ours?"

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Evan looks down at the carpeting for a moment, he didn't often show off and it actually embarrassed him to have done so, but he really wanted to impress the girls. They were kind to everyone, not to mention pretty and friendly, even to him. Yes, the shell was going away, but it wasn't actually gone enough to think that there might be boyfriend/girlfriend status in the future. That one might take a little longer to figure out.

"I don't mean to brag, but I wasn't kidding when I said I should be in college already. I've been in advanced placement classes since I started going to school. I speak 5 languages like a native, and I tend to ask questions in class that my teachers have to get help answering."

He looks back up at her with a small smile, continuing "So I can't really say I know the same kind of pushing that your parents do, because I want to learn everything I can. The one thing my parents really tried to instill in me was that I should help people whenever I can. Which is why the Avengers thing wasn't completely a joke. If I really do have good enough powers to help people like they do, then I want to be part of a team like that. Justice League, Avengers, Titans... it doesn't matter to me as long as I can help people."

Eabha Aine has posed:
Although the twins had technically become mutants the day merged, they hadn't gained powers until eight months ago, so the concept that those powers could be used in some way to help others had never really crossed their minds... until now. Sitting there in their fancy helicopter, allowing a friend to safely show off and offer support of those talents, it suddenly came to Eabha Aine's mind that they might also be helpful in some way.

"Bragging involves /way/ more self back patting, Evan," they say with a grin and slight brow wiggle. "We'll teach you how to get some good bragging done, that doesn't even come across as bragging because it's just sharing factual information... oh wait, you just did that, but it's alright, you earned that right."

Reaching over she pats him lightly on the shoulder, "Relax a little about it. We've seen you turn into an elephant, and now we know we can get your help with math... we suck at math... so it's all good." She finishes off the last of the tea from the bottle and places the empty container in the recycling bin.

"We believe you," they finally say. "That someday you'll be an Avenger or part of the Justice League. There has to be a thousand ways your powers could be used to be a real hero and help people, we'll just have to start making lists of what sort of things would be helpful and have you try them. As for us," they shrug their shoulders lightly. "We never thought of how our powers could be helpful until now, we mean... right now, this minute."

As they finish speaking, the pilot announces that there is one hour of flight time remaining before landing at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex.

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Evan chuckles a little, saying "This is actually fairly relaxed for me. My life has gotten loads better since coming here, I'm not the freak or weirdo, just another student. I guess years of teasing and insults is going to take more than a semester or two to fade into the background, but I'm working on it." He shrugs, "I would never have shown off at my old school, I tried to draw as little attention to myself as I could."

He looks over to the girls with a small smile, adding "You two have really helped me, you know. Having the prettiest girls in school enjoy hanging out with me really drives home how different things are here. The only time the popular kids said anything to me back home was when they thought of another supposedly witty insult to use on me. I got really good at just living inside my own head, letting the outside world kind of turn into the sounds Charlie Brown's teacher made when talking." With a shrug he continues, "Luckily for me, the same brain that lets me learn languages and get all A's is really good at imagination as well. There were whole worlds I could explore in my head."

He looks out the window as the ground passing far below and smiles. "Those kids would have an absolute cow over how I'm living these days, you know? I almost care enough to show you my home next time we have a couple weeks off. Between the Corvette and you two, I'd have an entire school jealous of me." He grins and shakes his head. "But I'm not going to, because it would mean I actually care what they think."

Eabha Aine has posed:
The twins listen as Evan talks about his past, about how the human kids at a normal school treated him. Neither Eabha or Aine had ever been the bully type, in fact they'd both always been ones to defend the kids who were different and it wasn't because they were a set of twins sharing one body. They'd always done it because it felt right to let every kid have their chance at being normal.

American High Schools were one of the worst thing on the planet for any kid to get through. The value of an education meant nothing to seventy percent of the student body, for them it was all about just getting through and out the other side. For about twenty percent it was all about the education, the grades, actually learning something in preparation for college... inevitably it was also that twenty percent who spent their time hiding, avoiding, or getting picked on.

Reaching over they picked up his hand to hold and offered a warm smile. "The skin we wear on the outside, a.k.a, what we look like, it doesn't mean anything," she says softly. "It's what's on the inside that matters... and we know you're likely thinking, 'Of course someone who models and has all the beauty would say that' but that doesn't make it any less true."

Rubbing her thumb over the back of his hand the smile remains in place, "That said however... we both believe you to be a handsome young man Evan... so, if you want to take your car and go show off to your old school, just to rub in their face just how wrong they are, we're one hundred-percent behind that... but we're also behind deciding they aren't worth your time any more, because they aren't. Anyone who doesn't take the time to actually /know/ you, can go takes a very long walk off a very short pier."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Evan glances down at their hand holding his, then back up to their face. "I'm in kind of a weird place as far as that goes. On one hand, I know I shouldn't care what they think, and doing that would just be admitting they bothered me enough to want to rub their faces in it. On the other hand, it's hard to stay logical about the whole thing, because I know they did have an effect on me growing up. That got clear when I arrived at Xavier's and was able to feel what being truly accepted feels like."

His cheeks darken a little when they call him handsome, and he manages to say "Well, I guess if you like grey skin and strange face markings I'm your guy. I don't think I should be teased about it, but at the same time I have to admit I don't fit the usual definition of male attractiveness."

Eabha Aine has posed:
Reaching over with their other hand to trace one of the lines from the corner of his mouth and across his cheek, Eabha Aine tries to keep a straight face as they asks, "Oh, so you're attracted to males and thus know all about defines male attractiveness?"

They manage to keep a straight face before busting up laughing, then lean over and kiss his cheek. "Trust us when we say, male attractiveness is and always will be subjective. What one girl calls gross, another will find super hot," she sits back and grins again. "So yeah... to us, you got it goin on just as you are."

They don't let go of his hand as they settle back in their seat. "We both agree that next week we go out to your old school and rub all of it in their noses because yes, what they say and think is a part of your past, and will effect you and it will feel /really/ good to smack em around with some reality."

The pilot announces over the intercom, "I'll be landing in about ten minutes, so please ensure you are buckled in and ready."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
His cheeks darken even more at her touch and then the kiss. Nothing in his past had prepared him for the prettiest girl he had ever known to actually not only be attracted to him, but to flat out kiss him. He looks at her with a good bit of surprise in his eyes, and tries to speak, which at first fails him and just comes out as a somewhat strangled squeak. He clears his throat and tries again. "Thanks, I - um, I'm not entirely sure what to say. I mean, I'm really glad you like me both for me and for how I look. I really like you too, and the money part has absolutely nothing to do with it. You're the most fun, interesting girls I've ever known."

He's read enough and seen enough movies to know that rich people often have a bunch of people trying to play up to them because of the money, and it can bother them just the same way the kids judging him could feel. You want people to like or dislike you for you, not for money or appearance.

Eabha Aine has posed:
"We know a gold digger when we see one," Eabha states. "Aine's friend Marshel was a gold digger." Then in their head Aine screams something about Marshel not being that bad, but that particular argument, Eabha had already won. "We get it's not about money. It may be a little too much about how we look, but... we also get that most guys like arm candy, and we to /great/ arm candy moves. We'll show em to you some time."

Another brow wiggle is offered to go along with their broad grin and a sparkle to their emerald eyes, but before they can speak again the helicopter is landing in the central area of the race track, near the pits.

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Evan shakes his head, "I can truly say I'd like you even if you were blue and furry like Dr. McCoy. You're a blast to hang around and do things with. I can't say your looks aren't a bonus on top of that, but I like the two of you, not just the body you share." He chuckles at the 'arm candy' comment and adds, "Well, you've already decided you are being that next week, and I'm quite sure you'll be very successful at it."

He sits back and clicks his belt on while they land, then frees himself from it once they touch down. "Ok, looks like we made it. This should be fun." He stands up and opens the door, holding it for her so she can step down from the cabin to the ground. Once she does, he hops down as well and lets the door close, then looks around. "Don't think I'd have ever thought of something like this happening. My dad likes racing, so I've seen it quite a few times, but I never thought 'd be in the middle of it."

Eabha Aine has posed:
Fastening her belt in place, Eabha Aine decide to keep hold of Evan's hand for now, he can have it back later.

Watching out the window as the ground comes in to view, the ground crew wait until the propellers are starting to slow down before moving in to open the doors, put down the stairs, the whole 'dog and pony' show by the local staff... after all, someone with A LOT of money just rented the track for an evening, that's not someone you fail to impress.

"You can have this hand back under one condition," they say with a giggle while holding his hand up. "We get it back later for the ride home, deal?"

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
The ground crew mess up his plans to hold the door for her, but her continued holding of his hand more than makes up for that. He nods at her with a smile and says "Deal. Heck, you can keep it for now if you want, I don't need it until we start driving."

Addressing one of the ground crew, he asks "Ok, where should we head to get checked in and all?" When the crewman points out where they are headed to, he starts off in that direction, with his hand still in Eabha's. "Well, except for when I've been on a jet traveling somewhere, I'm about to be moving faster than I ever have. You think of the coolest things, you know that?"

Eabha Aine has posed:
Exiting the helicopter, Eabha Aine offers a little wave to the guy who helped her work out the details for this little trip. He was part of the staff of course, but not the ground crew. He wore a suit, they wore matching coveralls for the speedway.

They do in fact keep their hold on Evan's hand as they walk with him. "I'll keep it for now," Eabha says, "But Aine will want her turn later."

Heading toward the structure in the pit, numerous corrugated metal walled buildings that usually serve as both garage and parking for race cars and bikes, the two motorcycles that were rented for the night have been parked side by side inside one.

"We've never legally gone faster than like eighty," they whisper toward Evan with a giggle over the 'legally' part. "So we thought, why not see how fast we can go?"

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
"Yeah, I think eighty is about the most I've hit on the highway as well." He doesn't comment on the 'legally' part, because eighty is the fastest he's ever gone. Yeah, he doesn't break the law either. The kid's definitely a bit of a goody-goody as well as a nerd, but his attitude sometimes seems a bit infectious. Despite his experiences in public school, he still manages to always look on the bright side of things. No doubt it irritates the hell out of Logan when they run across each other.

They arrive in the pit area, heading over to the check-in desk, where he reclaims his hand since they're both going to have to fill out some forms.

Eabha Aine has posed:
For the next thirty minutes the teenagers are prepared for what comes next. First is the paperwork, which Evan oddly finds his parents have already signed giving permission. The part /he/ has to sign is a long explanation of what is acceptable activities with the motorcycles, that the top speeds on the track will be one hundred and twenty and no higher, the he agrees to listen to and follow every instruction given by the crew and of course that he understands that this is dangerous and accidents could happen.

Once the paperwork is taken care off, and drivers licenses are shared, the two are taken to separate areas and dressed in full racing gear, including the stiff leather coveralls over fireproof long under gear.

The last step is the one on one, hands on instructions regarding the motorcycles... 2022 Yamaha YZF-R7's. Every single part of the bike is gone over, and at each part they are asked to repeat what they were told. Safety appears to be very important, which is how it should be given not everyone in the world gets the opportunity, as teenagers, to use racing motorcycles.

"And last but not least," the man who called himself Stew and was in charge of the two of them. "You can see we have two cars ready for retrieval should you need to stop some where on the track. We also have an ambulance with doctor and EMTs on stand-by."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Evan has no problem with the instructions, he has an excellent memory in general, so this stuff is absorbed easily. He's paying close attention since he knows he'll shortly be going really fast, and there is an element of danger in doing this, even with all the safety precautions.

The bikes themselves are really cool, he's never gotten the chance to see a racing bike up close, just some normal street bikes.

"Wow, you even contacted my folks so we could do this. That's actually really cool, thank you. You put in a lot of work to get us here."

Eabha Aine has posed:
Even though they're the one who arranged all this, Eabha Aine has never actually been up and close with a true racing motorcycle. Sure, they have a street Ducati that is capable of amazingly stupid speeds, but that's different then one meant for racing.

They listen intently to the instructions, and perhaps this is where having two mind working together could be considered cheating, but they both memorize what is said.

At the mention of his parents, their face lights up, "We called them a week ago, explained it all in details, and got them to fax permission to the track. It did take our mother also talking to your mother, but we think they got along."

Now it was time to race. The crew walk the bikes out of building and to the actual track, leaving them to take Evan's hand again and follow along.

"There are a million things we want to do, we guess you could call it a bucket list, but it's not like a 'before we die' thing," she says as they move toward the track. "We've decided you're going to do most of them with us."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Evan's in what one might call 'uncharted waters' right now. He's intelligent enough to recognize that the girls like him, but lack of any real world precedent in dealing with that sort of thing leaves him floundering a bit. Taking a little time to think it over, he decides that in this case, it's probably best to let the girls take the lead, like they did with the cheek kiss earlier.

"Sounds like fun to me. Not that I want either of us to want to think too much about dying, but I bet your activities are fairly cool if this was one of them. I'd be happy to spend more time with you, no matter what we're doing."

Eabha Aine has posed:
The motorcycles are set up and ready, presently being held in place by one of the pit crew. Evan's is primarily blue, like the coveralls he was given. Eabha Aine's is primarily white, which matches her coveralls. It was how the over head cameras and drones would keep track of who was who once they were out on the track.

"Oh it's all something like this," they offer as they get to the bikes. "And it's all about living, so if there is anything you want to do, tell us... we'll make sure it happens."

"Alrighty then... are we going ladies first?" Stew asks, having placed himself between the bikes.

Eabha Aine shakes their head as they say, "Evan gets to go first."

Stew nods and turns his attention to Evan, "It appears you are going first... remember, first trip around the track is no faster than sixty. If you appear comfortable and ready, you'll get a checkered flag to indicate you can go up to one-twenty. Understood?"

Evan Sabahnur has posed:

Evan nods, "Not a problem." Walking over to the bike, he settles himself into the seat, then starts the bike which gives a throaty growl as he revs the motor slightly, then he releases the brakes and rolls onto the track. Feeding the engine more gas, he accelerates to sixty and starts his first run around the track. Eabha's riding instructions help here, as he leans correctly into the turns.

Soon he's coming up in the start line again, and the checkered flag waves as he's shown no troubles handing the bike at sixty. Leaning down over the bike, he opens the throttle and kicks the bike into it's next gear, quickly approaching and then passing the one hundred mile an hour mark. He settles in at the instructed one-twenty with the motor roaring as he powers around the track.

He's looking like he's doing really well, keeping the turns tight and speeding up a little on the straightaways. Apparently he paid some attention to the racing his dad watched. Stew comments to Eabha "He's doing pretty well, a lot of people freak out a little when they get moving that fast on a bike."

Maybe what Stew said was a jinx, or maybe it was pure bad luck, but as Evan comes out of a turn and accelerates back up to one-twenty, the front tire blows. Nothing he did wrong, and nothing he could do anything about. With the tire gone, the front end of the bike drops onto the rim, jerking the handlebars around, then vaulting the bike into the air. Evan himself goes flying in what might be called a graceful arc had be been in control of his flight, but then slams into the asphalt of the track and bounces and skids along for a hundred yards or so. When he finally comes to a stop, he doesn't move for a minute.

Eabha Aine has posed:
Holding a tablet in hand, Eabha Aine watch the camera angles that offer a view of Evan's first lap around the track. There is a level of excitement building in their chest over his success and when the checker flag gets waved they actually let out a loud "Woooooo!", not that he can hear them. Stew did of course, and now he was deaf in one ear.

The next few minutes are slow motion for the twins. They are watching the tablet and suddenly there's red flashing at the edges as they watch Evan start flying through the air. A horn sounds some place, people start running all over the place... it looks like organized chaos because they know what they're doing and where they're goin, but to someone watching, chaos.

The tablet gets dropped to the ground and they are on the other motorcycle in two heartbeats. They hear Stew screaming as they are tearing out and moving down the track, leaning low to the bike for speed. Sure, they just broke every agreement they signed, but none of that mattered to them, they had to get to Evan... they couldn't explain why, other than their heart pounding and the deep fear that they wouldn't make it before he died.

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
After a moment Evan sits up and shakes his head, then reaches up to take the helmet off. It's got a fairly sizable crack in it, evidence that it took a solid impact or two as he bounced down the roadway. Before anyone reaches him, he's already standing up, apparently none the worse for wear. He stretches each arm and leg a bit to make sure everything is still where it should be.

He's about in the midst of that when Eabha reaches him, given that she was doing about double the speed of any of the rescue vehicles on the racing bike. He sidesteps slightly to make sure she doesn't end up running into him and waves to try and show her he's ok.

Eabha Aine has posed:
The only proof that anyone is ever going to get that Eabha Aine has done things with her own motorcycle that would be considered illegal happens at that exact moment. So intent on making it to him, she watches him stand up as if nothing happens and instantly she slides the bike into a sideway stop like a professional driver would.

The slide continues for several feet before she comes to a stop fifteen feet from Evan, she hops off the bike letting it fall as she yanks off the her helmet and runs over to him. "Holy shit Evan, are you alright?" She exclaims as she looks him over. She wants to hug him, but he shouldn't even be standing up. "Ho... how are you standing?!"

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Finishing his stretches, he shrugs and then nods, replying "Yeah, I'm fine, everything works the way it's supposed to. No pains in anything, so I'd say I'm alright. That was actually a bit exhilarating, strangely enough."

It's about at that point that the rescue vehicles arrive, medics jumping out and telling him to sit down so he doesn't hurt himself any more than he already is. There's a short back and forth as he tries to explain that he's fine, but in the end he sighs and lets them put him on a stretcher and drive him to the medical building for some x-rays.

"Well, that was not precisely what we had in mind, was it? Wonder if they'll let us go again if I check out without any injuries."

Eabha has to stay in the hallway outside the x-ray room as they do the x-rays, but then he's moved to a room on a rolling bed. "Hope it doesn't take them too long to tell me I didn't break anything."

Eabha Aine has posed:
Originally they were talking about leaving Eabha Aine out on the race track while transporting Evan to the triage building, let another of the emergency vehicles take her back. That went over like a steel balloon, so she rode in the ambulance with him.

The EMTs are presently in a 'WTF' state of existence. They've worked the track for years and never have they seen someone get up and walk away from a crash like that... but then, his grey skin gave away that he wasn't entirely human, so perhaps there was something in his DNA? They didn't know, what they knew was protocol.

Holding his hand with both of their hands, they are pretty sure he's alright. "You want to go again huh?" They laugh, even as the vehicle pulls up to triage. "We'll make it happen."

Waiting in the hall while the doctor did her once over on Evan, and then the required x-rays were taken, the twins bolted into the room the second they were waved in. While the medical team is looking things over, they take his hand again. "To be fair, sometimes breaks aren't obvious to the one who broke the bone," they explain. "Traumatic injuries can cause all kinds of self aware blindness, so they'll know when they know but in the mean time..." she leans in closer and places a soft kiss on his lips. "You scared the hell out of us."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
He blinks, then smiles at her, reaching out to brush a stray lock of hair back from her face. "Well, I'm sorry for that, but I kind of like where it ended up." His grin lights up his face as he adds, "Bouncing along the track just became worth it."

"So, I hope I haven't scared you off taking your turn. I'm fairly certain that we're not going to have a tire blow on two bikes on the same day. If we do, it might be time for me to buy a lottery ticket."

The doctor comes into the room, looking a bit baffled. "As far as I can tell, you're just fine. You shouldn't be after that, but you are. Not even a bruise. I take it by your appearance that you're probably either a mutant or an alien, so I assume being a good deal tougher than himans is just something natural to you?" Almost without waiting for an answer, she tells him "You're good to go, there are no problems we can find. Pay attention if anything starts hurting and have it checked."

Eabha Aine has posed:
Eabha Aine wiggles her brows a little as the stray lock of hair is moved, then one more very light kiss brushes his lips. "We may not be allowed to take a turn, we sort of... voided the agreements by racing out to you, but uh... you may get to go again. We'll just have to see."

Keeping her hold on his hand as the doctor come in and explains what they already knew, they spot Stew shaking his head in disbelief while looking at a tablet in his hand. Apparently he was rewatching the crash, looking at Evan, looking back to the tablet, looking at Evan. Clearly he couldn't wrap his head around it either.

When the man finally steps to the door way he says, "I've been doing this over thirty years, never seen a boy bounce down the track, get up and walk it off. Your complimentary coveralls took more damage than you did kid, but if you want to go again, you can go again. You both can, cause I don't know what force of nature or angel is watching over you, but I'm not being the one to tick them off."

Evan Sabahnur has posed:
Evan sits up and swings his legs off the bed, "Well, I know I wouldn't mind going again, how about you girls? Would be a pity to set this all up and then quit early because of a little mishap." When Eabha Aine lets him know they do want their turn too, he takes their hand and heads back out of the medical building. Stew has a golf cart parked outside that he uses to drive them back to the starting area. Over the next couple hours they both take turns seeing how badly they would be breaking the law if they were on a highway, but there are no more incidents.

Finally having had enough speed for one day, they head back over to the helicopter, the pilot having been relaxing by a food truck having a burger and a soda until they needed him again. One helicopter trip later, they land on the lawn at Xavier's and the helicopter vanishes into the darkening sky as they walk hand in hand up to the door and inside.
