Withdrawl Concerns
Date of Scene: 03 May 2023
Location: New York City Bank
Synopsis: When Monet has banking to do, she's not about to let a little robbery with some know-nothings trouble her. She takes care of business, then takes care of her banking.
Cast of Characters: River Banks, Monet St. Croix

River Banks has posed:
New York City Bank was a decently sized bank, and their Bronx locale was beautifully laid out. However, Wednesdays are a payday in some industries, so it was particularly busy today. Folks from all walks of life were making deposits and withdrawing funds from their accounts, sending money to pay rent or utilities and, on one occasion, two people in heavy Bronx accents picking fights over where the comma goes in the thousands mark -- a teller and a customer, with the teller winning. They don't seem to take a lot of guff here.

There is a scruffy looking young woman at the island filling out a check, an oversize, threadbare sweatshirt on over a T-shirt that asks you to drink Mr. Pibb and a pair of grease-stained jeans.

She squints through her glasses amoment, and she mutters "I can't even tell if that's an E or a 8... what the heck..." in a Southern accent.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
M is htere for other reasons. She's loathe to come to places like -this- where she has to be with the people underneath her. But sometimes things have to be done in person. In this case, it's a sizable enough deposit of something that she doesn't want to trust it to online systems or one of thsoe ever so helpful to malfunction ATM's that dot the city. So, she's here to drop it off in person, get a receipt for it so if something goes wrong she can very helpfully note that it's -their- fault and they -must- fix it..
Ah well, that's the way the system works sometimes. It can't all be as perfect as she is after all. That's why one takes precautions for when there's a probability of something going on. To expedite things and to ensure that contingencies are available.

River Banks has posed:
And M catches the eyes of more than one patron in the bank, it's not every day someone who doesn't like to be seen with people beneath her just shows up in the Bronx of all places.

The Teller up next motions M right over to her, giving a friendly smile as she readies her drawer for receiving.

"Good afternoon ma'am. How can we help today?" she inquires with that friendly professionalism that bank tellers are known for.

And that's when a trio of people enter the bank, wearing black, sporting black surgical masks and wide, dark sunglasses.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix would glance over at the woman, "I require access to my account. And promptly." She geos to rattle off a string of numbers that are the access information for it and the identification. "I'd rather get this done expediently." She uses her voice to hint over at 'I'm an important person, don't waste my time or I'll take my business elsewhere' without directly stating it. She's having to followt hat irritating concept called etiquette after all.
The three men entering wearing black, black sunglasses, black masks, and everything of the like gets a look of pure mocking from her. "Ridiculous." That's said loud enough for them to hear, as well as her tone of voice.

River Banks has posed:
"Of course ma'am, one moment and I will need to verify your identificatio--" she begins as the trio walk in, and she reaches down to hit a panic alarm.

"Please step to the side ma'am, as soon as they're over with we can process your request." the girl behind the teller counter states apologetically.

The trio of people raise hand guns into the air and fire ea few times to get attention. People scream, ceiling plaster collapses down and rains on them. Luckily they're wearing masks so they don't breathe it in.

"Ladies and gentlemen and non-binaries, this--" the main guy pauses for effect "is a stick-up. Kindly deposit all your loose cash in my bag, and empty the drawers as well -- and you, lovely lady?" he may be smiling behind his mask "Everything you got. Your earrings, necklaces, wallet, phone --"

"Underpants." his companion speaks up. He is DEFINITELY giving a slimeball smile under his mask.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
M would just sigh over at the woman, "Give me a few momnets." She would go over towards the men while looking /extremely/ pissed. A hand goes over towards one of the small statues that dot the lobby. In this case, for some reason it's one of an old vinyl player, and made out of bronze. The large disk that is the 'record' is made out of the same material. Monet goes to take her fingers over it and goes to dig them in, which starts to make a screeching sound as she moves to dig her fingers into the material, crushing the edge over of it in her fingers and flattening it even further as she goes to narrow her eyes voer at the trio of men. The screeching sound making it virtually impossible to ignore her.
"You /idiots/. My time is precious and you're wasting it." All attention will be over on her.. And away from the civilians, and the bank tellers as well. Giving them some time to duck for cover and for the civilians to get out of there. M's figners continue to dig over into the bronze 'record'.

River Banks has posed:
The trio stop. The civilians stop. The girl with the overlarge sweatshirt stops, and mostly everyone crinces at the sound, and recoils. The Tellers drop behind the desk. Civilians hide behind the island, except the girl with the sweatshirt who seems to look on with cautious amusement at the preceedings, though she's warily not far from cover.

"Oh. OH well excuse us, we're SO SORRY." the first gunman says, and then the third, very unwisely, decides to let off a pair of shots at Monet herself!

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet goes to use the record to snap it up and moves to deflect the two bullets up and over into the ceiling. They would snap up into the bulbs, cracking into them with light flickering! There's no ricochet and thus hopefully no risk over to the civilians. "YOu have chosen unwisely." Is her return taunt.

The bronze disk is then -hurled- over at the man that had just shot at her with frightening speed and force. Her intent is to launch it through the hand that held the gun.. To simply lop it off over at the wrist is her intent if her aim and throw is good! "Hands off."

River Banks has posed:
THere is a word for the sound flourescent lights make when they burst. Plinkoplation. Because they plinkoplate all over the place, busting into powder as people cry out, the lights flightering and dying around the broken bulb before the metal disk is slung, and suddenly a harmful guy becomes handless! He screams, holding the trunicated endof his arm as blood seeps out.

Guy 2 begins to look like he's going to throw up at the blood, but the Ring leader?

"Well it was worth a shot." he states, and he fires on Monet again now that she's lost her record.

Guy 2 raises his arm, but seems to get stage fright, freezing in place!

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet St. Croix goes to walk forwards, "This just cements your idiocy and wasting of my time. YOu had your warning and your chance." As the next round of bullets fly at her, M just goes to reach up with her hand to catch them in the air. Her hand goes to crush them in her palm and drop the shells down to the ground. The Morrocan mutant is looking pissed.
"Your friend's hand can -likely- be reattached. Shall we see if the same thing can be done to your's if I crush them into powder? There are twenty seven bones in the human hand. Let's see if we can multiply that by ten then." she's still walking slowly forwards, extremely pissed.
"Since you appear to be in need of remedial education, let me clear ou ta spot on my schedule to cripple some common sense into you."

River Banks has posed:
The Head Man appears to reconsider. He drops his gun, grabs his injured friend and his injured friend's hand, and then turns to make his way out of the bank in a hurry.

Guy Number 2 appears to come to his senses, and also amscrays! Right out the door as the sirens of approaching police can be heard.

And, thankfully, no one was obviously hurt... except Guy #3.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
They're walking out right towards the police whom seem to have things handled. M would wait a moment then to let them go over to the cops and make sure that they're tkaen down.. Then, a bit of a telepathic nudge to anyone around to make her not stand 'out' as much as she goes back over to the seat with the teller.
"Now, I'm ready to make my deposit since that annoyance is finished." Voice even. She has a manicure she needs to get too.
Of course that girl from before wearing the somewhat more scraggly clothes may notice her - sometimes people have a way of doing that.

River Banks has posed:
"Yes ma'am, aboslutely ma'am." The girl behind the counter agrees, and begins the process of unlocking her computer to bring up Monet's account.

The girl witht he scraggly sweatshirt looks a little ill, tilting a moment -- but she makes her way over to the *furthest* teller from Monet, who appears to have gotten quite a line.

"Hi, can I cash this check, please?" she questions, sliding over a slip of paper. "I need to get groceries."
