Asgardian Weather
Date of Scene: 05 May 2023
Location: Palace - Asgard
Synopsis: Two of Asgard's magic users, Kelda and Balder, discuss their plans to go to Hel and bring back Jane Foster.
Cast of Characters: Kelda Stormrider, Balder

Kelda Stormrider has posed:
Beyond the near-constant movement in the main halls, members of the Royal Court have their apartments. The private apartments and their adjoining public areas lie along the outer circumference of the grand palace. Many overlook the sea encircling the mount the royal precinct is built on. The blue waters stretch to the horizon where the azure sky and the seas become one.

A tall woman dressed in icy blue stands on the balcony of a shared public area. The ocean wind plays with her long platinum hair, worn loose, and tugs at her diaphanous gown. Ice crystals dance on the wind, orchestrated by the movement of her pale hands.

Balder has posed:
Dark hair shifts in the wind, his muscular form enshrouded by long robes, colored purple and brown, golden bands around the wrists. No sword on his waist nor is there a long fur-cape around his shoulders. Instead, Balder did not come as a warrior but rather as a magician and a scholar.

"Lady Stormrider."

A bow of his head then, knowing that while she may not be royalty, she is an Asgardian Goddess of great renown, feared by many, and respected by all.

"Looking over the great sea?"

Kelda Stormrider has posed:
The ice crystals continue their pirouettes, framing the goddess as she turns at the sound of a familiar voice. With flowing grace, she bends her head, acknowledging Thor's half-brother.

"Prince Balder."

A sweep of her arm stills the crystals that hang in the air glinting like diamonds.

"Amusing myself, thinking and looking at the sea. I never tire of it. I did not know you had returned to Asgard."

Balder has posed:
Acknowledged, Balder couldn't help but find himself smiling from ear to ear. He watches the Goddess as she appears surrounded by frozen crystals of starlight, a sweep of her arm stills the crystals completely, impressive in her command of the wind, chill, and cold.

"I had returned only recently. You have my word that no by-laws have been shattered nor toes stepped upon. I trust you have been well in my absence?" The peace that covers the Nine Realms is carefully maintained. While Balder is not the commander that Thor is or the silver tongue that Loki is, one could argue that there are none better at keeping the peace than Balder.

He is the God of Peace, after all.

"It's good to see you again."

Kelda Stormrider has posed:
"I have been traveling and gone from this realm, perhaps longer than yourself. Did the Dark Elves incursion on Midgard bring you back home? Or your brother's return?"

She returns a paler rendition of his hearty smile. Two white fingers pluck the frozen crystals from the air and tuck them neatly into her hair, making a circlet of shining flowers to wreath her head.

"Thank you. You are one of the few glad to see my return. I hope that your welcome has been warmer."

Balder has posed:
"Oh?"

Balder approaches the railing, resting his forearms atop that edge as he stares out against the sun as it paints the blue waters a beautiful shade. "I had heard of it...and yes, it had summoned me home. It helped me decide that I had been away for /far/ too long."

He turns to look at her a bit more properly, a kindness in his eyes. "Why is that? Do they see you in ill will?" They being the Asgardians.

Kelda Stormrider has posed:
Kelda shifts a shoulder and cants her head in answer, lowering her eyes. "Some see your sister and her evil in my magic. Even though, I offer no harm to Asgard. Your father and Thor have a different vision though, and treat me well. It is different for the people who do not know me," she admits, raising her chin in defiance of their opinion.

She makes a dismissive gesture then leans on the balustrade looking out over the expanse of ocean in companionable silence for a few moments. After a glance at him, she asks, "Will you go to Hel with us to recover Jane Foster? Perhaps, there will be a story similar to your own."

Balder has posed:
"To Hel?"

Balder looks down then, as if trapped in his own visions of prophecy and damnation. "I would. I will. So long as you will count me among your number." He suggests. "But, I have a great desire to help Jane Foster...she has helped us in times of great need in the past. She is a friend."

Balder looks at her a long moment then. "Perhaps then...they are the ones who are wrong and you can find friendship in the royalty. You are a good woman...that is all that should matter, regardless of similiarites."

Kelda Stormrider has posed:
Feeling his gaze upon her, Kelda finally turns her head, the stars wreathing in her hair catching the light. "It is not to my liking to please everyone."

She straightens, one hand still balanced on the cold stone and gazes at him, "So I have heard. Your brother was heart broken at her being taken and will go after her. He is not alone and likely will be glad to have you by his side. Though I do not know Jane Foster, Thor and others commend her to me. I am curious and would go with them if I can. The realm interests me."

Balder has posed:
"What interests you so greatly about the realm of the dead?"

Balder asks Kelda, turning to face her. "Do you seek some artifact there? I fear it will be....trying." The whole trip, not just the retrieval of Jane Foster. "She may have been dead for too long...sometimes the realms form a bond on the soul, a powerful binding that only the greatest of magics could hope to overturn."

He clears his throat. "But I'm certain you would be most welcome. You hae a partiuclar skillset, after all. Neither am I-" looking to please everyone. "Yet, I must try to keep spirits high where I can."

Kelda Stormrider has posed:
"We have both sojourned in that Realm, have we not?" Behind the imperious tone of voice, memories darken her eyes.

Softly, still caught in some distant vision, "I do not seek to bring anything back from that realm except for Jane Foster. It will do us all well to see a smile return to his face."

Coming back to herself, "Why do you wish to go?"
