Cast of Characters: Michael Hannigan, John Stewart

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Fridays tend to be an ill-advised time to be doing any type of bank business. With the generally impossible hours that banks usually maintain, lines tend to be small through most of the week. But Friday.

Oh Geez. Friday is the worst. Of the work days, that's got a higher likelihood of people taking time off from work, and to add to that.

Pay Days.

There is a line today and there are only two factors that are keeping the line confined to the area already marked off by velvet rope. One, this is Happy Harbor, not New York City proper. Two, every single teller window is opened and the employees are working their butts off to get the line moving. One employee has even taken position near the door to advise newcomers to please have their deposit or withdrawal slips filled out before they even get into the line.

Everyone's so busy!

As for Deputy Lee, he is also busy. In this case busy dozing off in the self proclaimed 'safest bank in the world'.

Mike is one of the unfortunate number who has found himself needing to go to the bank today. Well, to be more specific, his friend Wade needed to go to the bank. Mike just happened to be out walking with him when Wade remembered this fact. So, while the blond owner of Shaw Studios waits in line. Mike is taking advantage of what comfort the chairs in the waiting area can offer. Considering how long they've been there already, the rockstar is seriously considering following Deputy Lee's example.

John Stewart has posed:
He's all dressed in biker, right down to the leather jacket and the helmet he's holding under an armpit as he sits in line. Bald, and with a slightly weary expression from doing other things, John has his other hand in a pocket as he's fourth in the teller lines. He's here to deposit a check from a contract he just finished, pay day!

He's also just finished up a patrol on the outer edges of the sector, and Hal was handling this shift, so he was free to relax as he pulled out a tablet PC and started working on logging into the guest Wifi.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike is not dressed to stand out at all. If it wasn't for the designer attire of the friend he walked in with and the fact he's been in the area long enough for locals to recognize him, his Goodwill-esque attire may have made the loan officers at the nearby desks hold their breath as he had orbited around their workspace briefly.

As for the well dressed friend, well- he's second in roped off line. Wade doesn't have a tablet out. The smart phone in hand will suffice.

Mike doesn't quite fall asleep, but instead, he zones out in a different way, catching glimpses of a dream forming near Deputy Lee. The musician gives a shake of the head. Crossing his arms as he slumps down further into the seat. Ugh, this is so boring.

This is a short lived internal complaint as two things occur suddenly. The first being the sudden cutting off of the forming dream as Deputy Lee falls out of his seat, leaving two recently arrived bank guests to crouch down beside him, seemingly checking if he's alright.

Light murmurs start to filter across those waiting before those are quickly replace with a different reaction altogether.

BANG! A man who has made it halfway into the bank has a gun held high, with a bit of plaster snowing around him.

There is a shrill shout from one man who had the misfortune of standing near the sound of the gunfire. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN." The man starts up loudly and clearly. "THIS IS A BANK ROBBERY. THE BANK IS BEING ROBBED AND NOT YOU SO IF YOU ARE NOT A TELLER, KINDLY GET ON THE FLOOR AND STAY THERE UNTIL WE ARE DONE."

As he speaks two other men step forward, moving towards the tellers. The man who speaks remains towards the back of the bank. "DO NOT MAKE ANY STUPID DECISIONS. YOU WILL REGRET THEM."

John Stewart has posed:
For his part? John doesn't do anything but put the tablet away slowly, and he slowly moves to the floor himself.

Instead, he silently, mentally, orders his ring to give him a headcount of people with guns in the room and models. as he observes silently. No need to antagonize anyone. Yet.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike takes a deep breath as the man ventilating the ceiling and making announcements glances around. Being that the expressed need was to rob the INSURED bank and not to hurt anyone, he calmly slides out of his seat to move to the floor. Unknowing of the other in the crowd doing something similar, Mike makes note of the visible gunmen, and then glance over to the fallen security guard being tended to by bank patrons.

The percieved ringleader looks over to the two, eyes narrowing but not saying a thing as he seems to give them non-verbal permission to take care of the man.

As the other two men move to the tellers, he continues with his instructions. Top bills only, none from the bottom, hands up when not currently pulling money out of the drawer.

John's command does not go unrewarded and he is presented with the information asked upon his ring. Five persons with guns, the guard's firearm having moved to the possession of one of his newfound caretakers. And then there's an anomaly. No gun but the presence of a person with an odd energy signature situated towards the seats in the back, furthest from the front entrance and somewhat lined up with a view of the ring leader, the guard, and the two 'concerned' citizens.

John Stewart has posed:
Odd energy signatures could mean many things... but it's definitely a potential factor. The fallen guard would need an active scan to determine potential details... which would give him away. For now, John keeps watch on the robbers AND Mike... he's the wildcard here. Like it or not, he has jurisdiction in the sector currently, which means this show is his responsibility.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Despite the concern from John, Mike does not appear to make any hostile moves towards the robber. Perhaps he too understands the importance of the gun men being away from a crowded room full of civilians.

There is an odd bit of behavior from the blond man next to John as he seems to glance in the direction of Mike a few times. The ring had already cleared that man from having any form of weapon upon him, but there is a sense of familiarity with the man in the back.

Unimpeded, the two men up front make their way through the tellers, retrieving what funds they can get.

Mike's just sitting there. Legs pulled up, the man seems to just give up, resting his arms upon the knees and burying his head into the newly formed head rest. It's a bit anticlimatic in a way.All that energy not seemingly being put to u-

There is the quietest of murmurs, barely a whisper coming from the curled up bank goer. Nothing all that impressive to look up. Just someone dealing with a stressful situation in the best way they know how. Nothing of concern for the gun men. And honestly, someone acting like that is to be expected. But perhaps if they could hear what was said, there'd be more room for concern.

"To witness this is no fun
soon they will be on the run.
But when all is said and done,
Let no shots come from their guns."

The ring picks up a slight ebb of energy. It starts from the point of the cowering man, but then it seems to creep out, reaching first to the ring leader, then to the ones walking amongst the tellers. Despite the ring's picking up on this, the robbers seem none too concerned. Nor do the concerned citizens around the guard when this trace of something flows towards them. Mike's eyes peer over the folded arms, monitoring them for a reaction.

John Stewart has posed:
Metahuman trying to be subtle? Not the first time he's seen that happen. He's respectful of the attempt though, and there's no outward surprise from John, though his eyes follow the visible trails subtly to see their intended targets.

Eventually, the robbery is done though, and the robbers are out the door without much fuss... at which point John stands up, and aims his ring at the fallen security guard.

A visible green field emits from the ring as it does a detailed scan.

The bald black man is outing himself as a Green Lantern in plain sight. But then, he's probably that one member of the Corps that doesn't hide his identity.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
When the robbers are done they darting to an awaiting car outside. Other than the display at the end, not a single shot was taken and all that was left were some mostly empty tills and some accelerated heart rates. Phones are retrieved and several instances of 3 digits are dialed to explain the harrowing tale to the dispatcher.

Shifting to his feet, Mike moves over towards the entrance in time to see the field of green go over the guard.

"Huh." Mike comments, moving to the door to glance out, seeing if there was any chance of getting a plate or throwing a tracker on. He was too slow to do that, getting just a glimpse of the car scooting off. "Dammit."

The scan of the guard reveals nothing life threatening. The clunk to the back of the head however is likely to cause a heck of a headache when he wakes though.

Mike comes back in, looking over to the revealed Lantern, shaking his head.

John Stewart has posed:
"Everything is under control." John tells everyone, "police are on the way, no one was hurt, and the robbers will be dealt with. Remain calm and cooperate when the emergency vehicles arrive." John tells everyone in the bank calmly and with authority in his voice.

It's easy to see the leadership material John is, with that presence and his voice. There's a military ring to it, sure... but it's firm and committed like you'd expect a leader to have everything under control.

Finally he looks to Michael, "Okay?" It's a question of health, by the way he's looking Michael over. "I'll be going after them in a moment."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Yeah I'm fine." Mike replies, "Too far to get a plate. But maybe a camera got it somewhere." He frowns, "Assuming the plates aren't stolen too."

Hearing John state he's going after them, he nods, sneaking a glance over to the blond man that had been near John earlier.

Catching a nod from him, he gives a slight smile before making note of the rest of the people in the bank. Mike remains near the door.

During the discussion between the two men, the concerned citizens that were tending to the guard start to get up, stepping away. One glances awkwardly over to John for a few moments while the other starts heading towards the bathroom.

John Stewart has posed:
His right hand comes up in a fist, and suddenly a green field is Willed into existence that flows from head to toe over his body, and John is soon in his version of a Green Lantern uniform, with glowing green eyes instead of a mask. Yep, he's the Green Lantern that's fully public.

Those glowing green eyes flit over Michael, "With respect, are you capable of assistance?" He looks Michael dead in the eyes. He knows, somehow... but is respecting not outing him, with the quiet tone.
