Godfellas: A Wild Bodyguard Appears
Date of Scene: 11 May 2023
Location: Ares' office for Local Union #427
Synopsis: We meet Kelsey, Ares' bodyguard.
Cast of Characters: Alexander Aaron, Daisy Johnson, Ares

Alexander Aaron has posed:
The climb up the stairs in the old office building always took a bit of time. The elevator still had that 'Out of Order' sign on the front of it that it had the last time they were there, but four stories of exercise never killed anyone. Well. Not a lot of people at least.
Though it did give the two SHIELD agents enough time to talk a bit as they strolled. One of them, Agent Alexander Aaron, had those scuffy sneakers that made a particular scrape-scratch-scratch sound as he ascended the steps, rubber soles grinding the small bits of sand and debris on the steps as they ascended. "So when Mrs. Cunningham called, it didn't sound as bad as I thought it might." His hand slid along the banister as he moved, taking a turn at the next flight of steps and then walking up some more.
"There was no shouting, no screaming in the background. So hopefully it's not like, a thing yet." Which it would indeed be horrible if it became a 'thing'.
Another flight of steps then they reached the fourth floor and the long hallway that reached back into the old building. The light in the hall wasn't dim, but it definitely wasn't bright. Perhaps due to the heavy black-out curtains at the end of the hall that stifled the natural sunlight. But not fully as a single beam of sunlight streamed toward the door to the office, motes of dust floating in the air.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"When will they fix this ...?" Daisy wonders as they go by the Out of Order elevator, taptapping on the sign on her way past. At least she doesn't complain much about going up those stairs no more. Maybe she would had during her hacker days where she spent most of her time inside a van fighting for the 'truth'. Now as a SHIELD agent and Inhuman? It's a breeze, the woman barely breathing harder while they are strolling up..

"Are you sure your father already knows about it?" She wouldn't it beside Mrs. C not having exactly told all there was to be said to John Aaron. Need to know basis. She would make a great spy.

A brief look around and then towards the door. "We are getting closer to figuring out what's going on so if it becomes a 'thing' at least we have some progress to show him."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
    "Yeah, just..."
Alexander pauses at the door, face scrunching up slightly. "Bauer gave us some insight. But he seemed like a small cog in whatever he's a part of. Not like a guy to usually put hits out on people."
Then his brow rises as he rests a hand on the doorknob. "Then again maybe we just have an entirely wrong read on him. But with that interrogation you and Jess put him through, I don't think that's the case." As he finishes those words he pulls open the door to let Daisy precede him. Once she's inside that office he follows up, closing the door behind them. He looks up, smiling to Mrs. Cunningham once he catches sight of her. The young man is dressed in civvies today, though fairly non-descript. Just a pair of white sneakers, blue jeans, black t-shirt, and that brown leather jacket. All he'd need to complete the standard issue SHIELD undercover ensemble would be a blue baseball hat and a pair of sunglasses.
"Hey Mrs. Cunningham, it's me. You remember my _Work Associate_ Daisy?" He gestures over his shoulder toward her in way of introduction. Again.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Aren't we all..?" Small cogs, that is. There's a touch of a grin on Daisy's expression as they both make way closer to that door, "But I agree, though following up on Bauer should be the next step, and dig into the Little Odessa crowd.. We might need some back up on it though." even Daisy didn't take the mobsters lightly. She knows there's a reason for SHIELD procedures and the need of 'backup'. And sure, she could be very gang-ho when she wanted to but she also has a responsibility towards the young Aaron with being her guidance counselor. Because that job is never done even if Alex isn't a student anymore!

Daisy walks in and smiles towards Mrs. C. "Hello, Mrs. Cunningham." a dip of her head to which Mrs. C just smiles sweetly. "I do remember her, of course. How could I forget. And here you two are again." pause, "Together."

Someone's not buying the whole Work Associate title. Or maybe she's just jostling with the Young Aaron.

Ares has posed:
They were given access to that adjoining office, the one that was home to the Union President for his local group, in the form of John Aaron. He was a towering man with a barrel chest, not suited for sitting behind a small desk in an office. He was built for being on the construction site, working with heavy loads and the camaraderie of his co workers.

Or being a God of War and standing on the field with his band of brothers. Though that was not something that came to mind for most. Though the loyalty? The brotherhood? That was sort of came with the man. He could inspire when he chose to do so. Though few knew his true nature.

Right now he was standing in front of his desk. His arms were crossed. As they opened the door, the full weight of his glower fell upon them. There was a sense of forboding in the room. Then upon recognizing who they were, everything went back to normal and there was just John Aaron with a polite smile. "Agent Johnson, good to see you again. Alexander." A nod to each. He was dressed in a form fitting white t-shirt, work jeans and a pair of heavy work boots. "I was expecting someone else."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
A slight squinty-eyed glower is given to Mrs. C, but oh so brief that it amounted to a slight 'harumph' as opposed to a 'grr'. But it was quickly followed with a smirk to steal any sting from it. He gestured with a small wave as they headed back into the office area only to open the door and be presented with the tall dour silhouette of the God of War. An affected stance and a stern air that eased upon him seeing them.
"Hey Dad." Alexander says lightly as he strolls in, leaving the door open for now since he knew of Mrs. Cunningham's penchant for coming and going to provide what aid she could and clarification of needs be. He walks further in, twisting one of the chairs slightly as he passes it, leaving the nearer seat for Daisy before he walks behind another and waits for her to sit or not before he does so himself.
"Figured we'd try to get here before your bodyguard showed up." To hopefully smooth any ruffled feathers that might come about.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Oh good. Mr. Aaron already knows about the bodyguard.

Oh no. He seems ready to glower and intimidate the heck out of whoever it is. But then again, did Daisy expect differently?

There's a brief exhale of breath at that shift on Ares, the full brunt of that glower near overwhelming for a second but with the man changing quickly enough so does Daisy retains her more composed posture too, "Good to see you again as well, Sir." she says with a faint smile, glancing over her shoulder at Mrs. C. Who just closes the door behind them with a little smile. Mrs. C goes where she pleases after all. She doesn't need doors left open for her! And with that sharp ears of hers? She can most likely hear everything as well.

Daisy makes way to a seat and settles down on it, "We were glad to learn you accepted to have the bodyguard with you." she injecting some approval to her tone.

Ares has posed:
"Accepted?"

John tested out that word as though it was foreign to him. He leaned back into a more relaxed posture, sitting on the edge of the desk now instead of standing before it like a humanoid barrier wall. "More I was given no choice unless I wished to leave my position. This cannot happen. My brothers rely upon me for leadership." And therein lie the rub for John Aaron. It's how his mind worked, even if it was being applied to a union job for construction workers.

"I know little outside he is to arrive soon." A glance to the clock up on the wall, one of those plain round numbers with the white face and black hands. Like a lot of schoolrooms might have. Very old style but that was fitting for this man, at least if one knew him.

"I do not even know his name yet. Very frustrating that they could not provide me the smallest bit of information."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
It seemed to be an elaborate game in some ways. How Ares held to this small connection to the mortal world. And another game beyond it for Alexander, Daisy, and SHIELD to try and keep him so focused, for an Ares without distraction is an Ares with idle hands. And those are some other pantheon's playthings.
Which might be why they two agents are there to try and maintain this... illusion.
Though Alexander was there for more personal reasons. He glances over toward the door, then settles into his seat. "No matter how this person is, just know it's a temporary thing. Right? Keep looking at it with a sort of big picture view. Sure it might suck, and sure it might not be enjoyable... but."
At that he gives a small shrug, drawing his leg up to rest his ankle on his knee. He folds his arms over his chest, leather jacket creaking slightly as he looks again toward the door. "It's alright to be unhappy. Just not... really unhappy."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
While Daisy could go on about there was always a choice she wisely chooses not to enter a discussion with Mr. Aaron. For REASONS. Never get too antagonistic with Gods unless you have the 'Family' card like Alex does, "A good professional won't get in the way of your job here." she notes instead, "So that won't be a problem at all." she assures him.

A glance to Alex and she agrees with him by saying, "That lead we were following turned out good. So we are closer to figuring out who was threatening you." a beat, "We will get more developments soon enough." then she canting her head to the side.

"Not even the name? Now I am getting intrigued." a faint grin on her expression.

Ares has posed:
And that is when they heard the sound of muffled voices in the exterior room. Immediately John was on his feet again, arms crossing and resuming his intimidation pose. The air just shifted immediately, something about the aura he had that wasn't a visible thing but that feeling of foreboding was impossible to miss.

A moment later, the door opened an in strode a woman who was probably around thirty years of age. Perhaps a bit older. She was wearing a pair of black slacks, sensible shoes instead of some sort of heel, an ecru colored blouse beneath a black blazer. Her blonde hair was pulled back into a tight bun at the nape of her neck. She had an athletic looking build, even obvious in the business attire. Though she was rather petite, standing perhaps 5'3". She scanned the room and the three people in it in a brief glance. Then she strode forward, apparently not going to let the glowering giant make her pause.

"Good afternoon. I'm Kelsey Greene. I was sent over by the Security agency." She pulled out both her ID and her paperwork, offering them with her left hand and a handshake to each of them in turn with her right. John being the first.

The big man stared down at her for a long moment then suddenly those negative waves disappeared. And his lip twitched. And suddenly John Aaron was laughing. Not a little laugh. This was a deep belly laugh as though he had been told the funniest joke in the world.

Which he followed by pointing at Kelsey as he roared with humor. "THAT is supposed to protect me? I could break her like a twig!" As though she was not even there in front of him.

Which earned a narrowing of eyes from Kelsey.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Catching Daisy's glance, Alex meets it with a nod, both of them sharing a synergy on that the investigation was going well. He turned back to look at his father. "Got some good intel, but will still take some time to run it down. But also seems to raise other questions too..."
Which was true, to be fair. They had tracked down one lead, but that raised a few more possibilities. Hopefully they'd be able to get it hammered down soon.
Then Ares rose to his feet affecting that 'stern' pose. Which, to be fair, was effective. But to know and see him prepping it, Alexander couldn't help but smile. He looked over at Daisy before his eyes slipped back to the door only to see... Kelsey.
His eyebrows rose and he shot a glance over at Daisy before he heard that loud laughter. Which was when he rose from his seat. He took the two steps needed, "Hi, hey. Sorry. My name's Alex. Mr. Aaron's son." He gestured over toward Daisy...
Then his dad made that comment about the breaking of twigs. That had Alexander wincing as he offered his hand for a handshake.
"Thanks for coming by, and taking on this... mission." Then recalling he says, "Oh and this is a friend of mine from work, Daisy."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
No smiles out of Daisy when Ares gets that stern pose. Not that she is full on intimidated by it but there's just something there that leaves her uneasy. Curiosity does have Daisy looking over her shoulder to check the door. And as it gets open she watches the figure behind it. A quick assessment tells Daisy this is a professional so there's a brief nod out of Daisy. From one pro to another. That much could be understood on the SHIELD agent's gaze.

Right before that ringing laughter from Ares.

Hand goes to her forehead and she stiffles out a sigh instead getting up to her feet. "Good to meet you." she shakes hands with Kelsey as well as she moves closer. "And yes, thank you. Mr. Aaron's safety has been a concern apparently."

Ares has posed:
And there was no stopping John. He was just gone now, sitting on the edge of the desk, bent halfway over, holding his stomach as the laughing fit seemed to have no end in sight. And were those tears from laughing so hard? No, that wasn't possible. This was the God of War and any such thing was likely caused by someone slicing onions nearby!

Kelsey let her attention be drawn to Alexander and Daisy since they seemed to have some sense of propriety about them. "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Aaron. Daisy." She had to use the first name since the first was not given. "So the one that thinks he can break me like a twig is my assignment, John Aaron, I take it?"

She looked to the man still lost in fits of laughter. Then back to the pair running interference for him. Somehow she managed not to roll her eyes. She probably deserved a raise for that. "I volunteered. I understood it was a pretty credible threat and I have a high record for keeping my people safe." Which was included in that paperwork she offered. "I have ten years in the United States Marine Corp, leaving with an honorable discharge after serving In the Special Forces unit." Also known as the Green Berets, though only a handful of women had ever made it to that esteemed group. "Then I was hired by a personal security agency and have served there for the last three. If you have any questions for me, I'll be glad to answer them."

"Where is the rest of you?" Came the chortling request from John Aaron. "You're so...small." And he put his hand at about the height of his desk, though she obviously wasn't /that/ small.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Uh," Alex's first succinct response offers no insight. His lips part and he stands there, then shoots a glance at Daisy before he recovers enough to reply. "Yes, that's him." Alexander finally responds in the affirmative.
But then he turns and points at his father, "Hey..." His tone is firm, but there is a touch of an up note at the end as he says, "Remember what we talked about?" This then had Alexander nodding a little while he still pointed at his father. Then he turns back toward Kelsey.
"Sorry, he's just... really... really... horribly old." Which is true, though she might take it to be hyperbole. Alex smiles a little then says, "So hopefully things will resolve soon and you won't be stuck with... this. For too long. Right?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
With the God of (s)Laughter still at it means it's up to the actual humans to be adults in the room. Or at least the ones with propriety! So Daisy takes those papers to look at the credentials Kelsey speaks of. A brow quirks. Rather impressive resume, "Wasn't expecting the board to go for someone so highly rated..." though she imagines Kelsey volunteering had a bit role to play in it.

Though wait, why is the 'friend from work' handling these things?

Daisy smiles faintly. "Alex omitted the part where we have been looking into the matter relating to Mr. Aaron. I work with SHIELD." she tells the bodyguard so as to clarify things, closing the dossier and putting it aside.

"Don't worry though, he just considers everyone short. But you should talk with Mrs. C.." a nod given to the door, " ... later on." she probably has some tips on how to handle Mr. aaron!

Ares has posed:
"Really old." Kelsey echoed, looking over at the laughing man once more as Daisy looked over her paperwork. "I can see that."

"Hey!" And that started to get through to John apparently as he wiped any wetness from his eyes (damned onions three blocks down or something). "I do not look old."

"Of course you don't, sir." And she focused back on the duo, particularly Daisy when she mentioned SHIELD. Having been in this particular field, she'd heard of SHIELD but knew little about it. They were one of those big organizations that had a very small public footprint. More a mystery than anything else.

So why were they involved in a threat to a Union Rep? The question was there in her eyes but she didn't ask. After all, it was none of her business. But it did mean there was something more to this possibly. Or to her protectee?

"I will be certain to ask Mrs. C upon my exit. For now, I should get this over with."

And with that, she left her credentials in their hands and strode right up to Mr. John Aaron. "Sir, I will be with you at all times. I will stay in your home and travel with you to and from work. I would suggest you actually take time off work but should you choose not to, then accomodations for my presence must be made at your work sites. I will remain professional though I ask you to do the same."

John glanced to Alexander after that reprimand then back to Kelsey. "So. Small."

And that is when things probably went downhill even further. "Mr. Aaron. If you would like to test my skills, I will be very glad to show you that even someone your size can easily be taken down."

And /that/ had John rising up from the desk, glaring down at the little human. Because he had just be challenged. And ...well....John didn't know how to back down from one of those. "You think so, girl?"

Her voice was deadpan as she answered. "I know so."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
As if to answer her unspoken question, Alex says. "I work in SHIELD as well. But only this last year." Alexander says, a polite way to tell her that he's a noob or a low-ranking individual. Though Daisy might find that amusing for her own evil reasons.
He takes a moment to say over his shoulder. "Super old." Very quick as if to impart that wisdom to his father and then it's back to the adults in the room.
When she steps toward John, however, Alex gets back and out of the way at first. Letting them have their own meet and greet. When things start to drift towards the dangerous however...
He steps back in slightly between them, "Hey, maybe... you know. Have a sit down. A talk. Go over each others' resumes, get some insight before. You know. Fighting."
He looks toward Daisy briefly for a quick helping hand.
But for now it looks like things might well be off to not entirely a good start.
