Synopsis: Alura approaches Diana about aid for New Krypton
Cast of Characters: Diana Prince, Alura In-Ze

Diana Prince has posed:
With the heaviest action in the Savage Lands seemingly coming to an end, most of the Amazon forces had been pulled out. Some had gone back to Themyscira while others were back here in New York again, maintaining a watchful patrol over the Embassy and the Arts Center on the other side of the small park outside.

Inside, within her office, Diana is dressed casually in a white sleeveless shirt, black denim jeans and simple black sandals. She's sitting at her desk writing a series of e-mails to some colleagues at the museum with regard to setting up future expeditions to the Savage Lands, as it is quickly becoming a place for explorers to wish to enter to further delve in to the depths of its boundless secrets.

In the lobby of the Embassy, a young woman named Greta Candy is tending to the front desk, and when approached she'd summon one of the Amazon women to bring Alura back to Diana's office, taking her down the central hallway and past the windows that look out on the large courtyard until the reached the double doors of the Princess' space.

It's quiet in the Embassy today, save for only a small number of people out in the courtyard tending to the gardens.

Alura In-Ze has posed:
There isn't really such a thing as 'dressing down' for Alura. Not yet. She hasn't adopted Earth clothing and what she's wearing now - her Superwoman outfit - really is just regular wear for her. The cape, though, is a bit ostentatious. She'll readily admit that. Given that the only other clothes she was introduced to were from Themyscira it's not too much of a surprise that 'Dress like they do in New York' hasn't come naturally to her.

She makes her way quietly through the hallways. This is a very different dress setting to Themyscira when it comes to talking to Diana. But the embassy was important for relations between Themyscira and America - and the rest of the world for that matter.

She offers her arm to Diana when she greets her. "It's good to see you again." Apprehension reads on her face because it's not just a social visit. "How are you doing? After the Savage Lands. After Brainiac's ship. It's been a lot this last month."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana is up from her desk when Alura is brought in. She has a warm smile touch her visage as she steps over to the other woman in the cape. She does visibly note the cape, and it causes her to grin a little toward the Super woman. She touches her arm softly and welcomes her with a motion toward the sitting area.

"It... well... it has been a busy time for many years now." She tells the recently arrived Kryptonian. "But yes, the last few have been particularly challenging. Especially any that take me away from our world here... I still find inter-stellar travel to be a bit uncomfortable."

Diana motions then to the office's kitchen and bar area. "Would you like something to drink?" She asks next.

Alura In-Ze has posed:
Alura glances over and nods her head, "I'm partial to a coffee. It has an interesting taste. Very alien to my taste buds still but interesting." She looks out the windows at the garden and hmms at the remark about interstellar travel. "While we were onboard Brainiac's ship - I had an opportunity to record his technology in action when I unshrunk that rock civilisation and split his ship in two."

She tucks her hands behind her back politely and watches over at Diana. Someone she respects a great deal. "And I was able to put that data in to my own work and recreate the device. We possess Kandor recovered from Zod and I have the capacity to restore the city to its full size... I wish to found New Krypton on an otherwise empty world."

She waits for that to sink in for a moment because it's ambitious. Extremely ambitious. And also very interstellar. Talking it through with Jon-El was a useful exercise for her but especially for the young man.

Diana Prince has posed:
There comes an initial sweet smile at the talk of coffee, whilst Diana moves to the kitchenette where she reaches for the already brewed pot. As it turns out, while Diana sees people in her office during the day, her assistants routinely brew new pots throughout the day to make sure frehs coffee is always on the menu.

Diana pours a cup for Alura, and a cup of tea for herself, her eyes glancing over to the caped woman as she speaks of a New home for her people.

She starts back toward her now, offering her a cup and finding a place to sit down across from the other. "A planet?" She asks. "You have picked one already?" She further inquires before raising her cup of tea up to her ruby red lips for a sip from its contents.

"What precisely is the status of your culture? I've been lead to believe there are but a handful of your people left..." She says in a careful tone, rich with concern for the Krypton people.

Alura In-Ze has posed:
Alura accepts the coffee and brings it to her lips. A sip regardless of temperature - the flavour changes as it cools and that is interesting in its own right. "I have two picked out. Zor and I were taking Argo City to a system with a red sun. But given my experiences here on Earth I have also selected a system with a yellow sun."

She faces Diana to see how she responds to that potential situation. Most have not taken well to the idea so far and she has found the double standard... fascinating.

"All but extinct beyond those here on Earth, our prisoners from Brainiac's ship -- and all those souls trapped in the bottle. How many I couldn't say exactly, but a city the size of Kandor there might be upwards of 200,000 Kryptonians still alive. I hope..."

She twists her lips. "At least if we can restore Kandor then Brainiac will have finally done his job of preserving so that things can begin a new. It's a big project and the city is in a rough state. Mutant Town when it was taken by Brainiac was severed from all its support systems - electrical, water, sewage, etc. Kandor is no different in that respect."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana simply sits there on the edge of her seat with her back posture perfectly straight, and her hands holding the teacup between them. Her eyes are solely upon that of Alura's face as the woman informs her of what she's come up with so far on this endeavor.

"Two hundred thousand... that is remarkable." She tells the other before indulging in another sip of the warm tea. When she lowers it she shakes her head side to side once. "Even Themyscira itself is nothing close to that in population. I am glad that many of your people yet remain alive." She notes with a little smile given before she draws in a light breath of the comfortably temperatured air within her office.

"I... would weigh your options heavily. A yellow sun would mean all of those people are just as powerful as you, as powerful as Kal... Would it not?" She questions. "It might be more of a headache than one could imagine, for an entire society to grow in to that kind of change from what they are used to. My personal recommendation would be to find them what is closest to what they know now as home. Change for people is hard, be it Human or not."

She pauses for just a beat of a moment then.

"What do the others of your family have to say onthe matter?"

Alura In-Ze has posed:
Alura sits down on the seat across from Diana and rests the hot cup in her hand. "Mm. Brainiac's original function was preservation of samples in a seed vault in case of ecological collapse. Something went wrong and he became homicidal.. but deep inside him he still follows that core directive. He abducts cities of soon to be extinct peoples. At least, from his own assessment."

"I was a child when he took Kandor. I didn't really understand what was going on. But Kandor used to be our capital city. One could argue the day we lost them was the day we lost any hope of stopping what was to come. The new high council simply didn't know the whole picture. But, I digress."

She looks over in to Diana's eyes and tilts her head. "I'd like to confide in you something very few people know. It wasn't just our planet that was dying. We as a people were on a slow decline in to extinction regardless - our genetics were breaking down. When Jor-El came to Earth he found something remarkable. A plant that we used to re-engineer our DNA repair some of the damage. Kal-El and Kara Danvers are the only two Kryptonians both free of damage in who knows how many thousands of years."

"Myself and Lara took the DNA resequencing so that we could have them. I am not as fast, nor as strong, as Kal and Kara are. But I am far more so than Zod - far far more so as I learnt recently. He is strong, he is fast, but it fades quicker. That's why he beats a hasty retreat every time the tide turns against him. He knows he can't sustain it...."

She looks down in to her coffee before taking another sip. "All those Kryptonians in that bottle? even if exposed to the yellow sun would never be as powerful as Superman and Supergirl. The degree to which their body could absorb the solar radiation and utilised it would differ from person to person. So I have been weighing this option quite skeptically. It could radically upset Kryptonian society."

She huffs, "Not to mention the religious and technological ramifications. And who knows how they've actually faired in that bottle. They would have had to adapt and limp on with limited technology. The sooner I can restore the city the better - but on an otherwise empty world they will be all alone. May be with a yellow sun they might have a better chance."

She looks back to Diana, "I had hoped to talk to the Justice League and anyone else who would listen. To get aid, assistance, from Earth, from Atlantis, from Themyscira. I cannot speak to how a New Krypton will respond diplomatically but I hope people will see it's the right thing to do. Earth would hope for the same if the situation were reversed."

As she asks about how the rest of the family has responded, "Kal is keeping his cards close to his chest. He seems to ruminate on things and worry far more than he should. I wish he'd open up. Superboy and .. Superboy, well they're both worried there'll be another Zod amongst them. An unfortunately irrational fear, there's plenty of Zod's on Earth already."

She breaths out slowly, "Kara doesn't seem to have an opinion on it and Divine - well she readily admits she doesn't have the experience to make such a call."

Diana Prince has posed:
Throughout what Alura tells her, Diana merely keeps eye contact where shared and softly nods her head to some of the information she takes in from the other's words. At the end of it though she takes another sip from her cup before she lowers it again and adjusts her hands so her left is holding it under its base, her right still grasping it by its dainty handle.

"My initial thoughts are that... should you move all of your people to the world with the yellow sun, and you do manage to help them all adjust to the changes, that you would still be dealing with something so foreign to what they are used to that it would not really be a 'New Krypton', but rather a whole new world all together."

She pauses just for a small moment before continuing.

"That said, this is not my call to make. I merely offer another thought to throw in on the cacophony of others likely rolling through your mind on this matter." She shows a very faint smirk then.

"What I can say, with definite confidence is that Themyscira is here to help you and yours. I cannot say how, or in what capacity, but I can say that we are here for you. Kal, Kara, and the rest. You are our allies, and our family now."

Another soft smile is offered then before she nods once toward Alura. "Keep on Kal, he'll open up at the right time. His mind is even more of a maze of concerns than our own, I would imagine."

Alura In-Ze has posed:
Alura nods her head, "It's good to have options but I think you're right. It means, though, that Kandor needs aid - more aid than they would otherwise. Food, water, power, medicine. There are things I can manufacture here on Earth in preparation but it will be a big job."

She sips at the coffee again and asks, "Themyscira doesn't currently have a lot of options in terms of bringing people to an alien world to help. For that matter, neither do I. I have a beat up old Kryptonian scout ship from an alternate timeline -- long story. Earth isn't in the best of positions to help."

"It's possible, though, that we could modify one of the teleporters for a long distance connection. Install it in to the space port and be very very careful who we open that door to. Cultural contamination is still a grave concern of mine. Do you think the Justice League would part with one of their teleporters for this purpose?"

Diana Prince has posed:
"We would." Diana says of the teleportation tech. "But there are other options too. For instance, I have heard that the X-Men have Mutant members who can teleport people across vast distances... very vast." She says with a small smirk. "And Zatanna Zatarra... I have employed her portal creation magic before in the past, though I am admittedly unsure of any range limitations she might face with that magic. My point being, however, that magic may yield quicker results than technology, but we do have a lot of very smart people here who can help with either."

She takes another little breath before she nods her head again. "And the Green Lanterns, or Carol Danvers might be able to help other locations that could provide food, necessities for a new planet. I know Carol very well, and she's been from one corner of the galaxy to the other, and the Lanterns... well, their reach is far, and together both Carol and the Lantern Corps would be valuable defenses to have routinely on-hand on this potential new homeworld."

She shows another little smile that comes and goes fairly quickly. "So if you have time to meet with them, and perhaps the X-Men... it could yield further options to make this all a little easier. I know my personal transport is quite capable of getting from here to there, but it does have a limit in its passenger capacity, and sadly it is not that many in the grand scheme of things. Certainly not the hundreds of thousands of people range."

Alura In-Ze has posed:
Alura nods her head, "Good suggestions. Perhaps the easiest approach would be to host a summit at the moon base and invite anyone who believes they might be able to help. If you're not against hosting that is. It would be nice to stand in that moon base meeting room for reasons of Aid rather than reasons of Defense."

She chuckles a moment, "Yes. Magic. I don't understand it yet but I'm well aware of how it seems to allow individuals to bend the rules of the universe. That truly is an evolutionary adaptation I never imagined could be possible."

She finishes off the coffee and sets the cup back down in her hand. "I have hopes that New Krypton will recognise the efforts of Earth and want to establish a mutual defence pact. But I cannot speak for the minds of whatever the high council has become."

Diana Prince has posed:
The Princess levels her chin and nods it two quick times to the last part of what Alura just said. "Politicians. You can never quite be ready for what they say, and what they've suddenly become seemingly over night." She shows a hint of a grin then as she moves to stand up, and offers to take the empty cup from the other woman. "And yes, you certainly can have a meeting at the Watchtower base. We had a good turn out for the Savage Lands incident, and I imagine many would like to be involved in helping the Kryptonian people find a new place to call home. Simply let me know when you wish to hold it, and we will organize it, and see that it happens."

She'll move then to the kitchen area again where she will put the cups away before she turns back to Alura to walk toward her again. "Magic is a subject I know very little about. I would delve in to it, had I ever a moment of time to even breathe." She states, clearly cracking a joke as her following wide smile showcases.

Alura In-Ze has posed:
"Earth is in a time of great change. It's not easy shifting from one epoch to another. Contact with aliens. Interstellar travel. Alien refugees. Super powers. New technological shifts. Greater energy sources - and none of the social problems being fulled addressed that have lingered for hundreds of years."

Alura rises back up too and folds her arms in front of her. "I don't envy the growing pains this planet is going through but I'm here to help them through it if I can. The ambition of this world has outpaced its ability to respond."

"I know Krypton went through many such transformations over its life. And by my very nature, the power I hold and the apparent sway my family's symbol holds I cannot enter the political arena. Even if I did, much of what I'd have to say would fall on deaf ears."

She offers her hand to Diana, "Thank you Diana. You are a true friend. Where the future takes us all I don't know but I'm glad to know people like you."
